Customizing the QuickChat Menu

It's originally located inside the piggs, so it won't exist by default.

The /data/ folder is manually created for replacing parts of the game with custom stuff. You have to manually create the subfolders however you do it on a Mac. I have no idea how to create subfolders on a Mac. You can probably get better directions from the Mac forum.

Still have no idea why they put the LockedOption{} stuff in there. Unless something changed in the last 3 Issues, removing it won't grant you access to the emote if you haven't earned it.

All it does is clutter the file, and make it look ugly. If I was the person who had to update that, I'd totally remove it.

The LockedOption part is *code*. It tells the popmenu configurator to display those options as greyed out if the character does not own the parameter in the {}. If you removed it, it would show up non-greyed and fool you into thinking it's unlocked and you would click it and nothing would happen and all the invisible folk standing behind you would point at you and smirk.

I hope I did not miss the answer to this somewhere but;

Is there a way to make a popmenu the starts a message to a channel? For example:
Option "Level 50" "beginchat /send "level 50" "
That does not appear to work as it seems anything past /send is not there. Any ideas?

Okay, so doing this on a mac, I was able to find Resources folder for City of Heroes but I'm not clear on where I should add the texts\English\Menus or would it be different folder setup for Mac?

I have Resourses\Transgaming\Coh folder but am not clear where or what I should add for the .mnu folders.

Thanx in advance for any help.

You can't have multiple quotes in the popmenus.

I've highlighted the problem parts. In other words, it isn't going to work for you.

In the Resourses\Transgaming\Coh Folder, create a "data" folder.
In that folder, create a "texts" folder.
In that folder, create a "English" folder.
In that folder, create a "Menus" folder.
In that folder, put the .mnu files.

Right, and without the quotes the command will not work correct? There is no way to make a pop menu to beginchat with a global chat channel?

Correct.

Only if the channel doesn't have any spaces.

This would work (no spaces, but needs a channel change):
Option "Level50" "beginchat /send level50 "

This can't work (has spaces, won't work):
Option "Level 50" "beginchat /send "level 50" "

Would love to use this feature, but have discovered that I don't have the subdirectories necessary... I use Win7, 64bit...CoH is housed in the Program Files/City of Heroes (x86), but I have no Data subdirectory. Have unhidden all files and ran searches for "quickchat" to no avail. Anyone else have this issue when attempting to create popmenus?
thanks!

You have to create it yourself.
