YAY, I'm on someone's ignore list. Oh well that really bothers me.....o wait.

Did you ever think that when Posi mentioned the respec that was when it was going to be. Then maybe, just maybe something happened and it had to change. And maybe, just maybe to make things easier to everyone involved they decided to group things together and do several maintenance projects during, god forbid, maintenance.

You all also act like, you'll never get another free respec again.....guess what? I'm sure you will. Long time players maybe should not respec every other day and you might have a few respecs left don't ya think?

Also, I image that Posi is extremely busy and has a lot on his mind. God forbid the lead designer of a very well developed game makes a statement that turns out later to be in error, most likely due to circumstances beyond his control.

I dont have anyone on my ignore list. Not that you would make that list if it existed for me.

I do have people on "My god what an ungrateful sack of [censored]" list.

lol. Dont get mad unless youre an ungrateful sack of [censored].

Novem, it's possible that this date represents a change. And maybe even a last minute change so no notice was possible. And so if this announcement had been "Due to circumstances, we had to move the freespec to December 17th, our apologies for the short notice" there might have been some grumbling but at least, oh well, stuff happens.

Instead, we got a new announcement "freespec on December 17th" as though the first announcement never happened, and only when people asked was there any acknowledgement that another date had been presented and just "Positron was wrong".

When Rednames make definitive statements, it's assumed that we should be able to rely on them. If those statements are not reliable due to an encounter with reality, at best we should be told as early as possible that they changed and at minimum there should be some recognition that they have changed.

There are two issues involved here. One is the freespec involved, which for most people is a lesser issue, but it can be. As I said earlier, part of the answer may be to just do away with the separation of freespec/respec and treat freespecs as normal respecs so they stack (and you can do any type of respec with /respec).

But the bigger issue is the communication. The breakdown in communication, and the way the breakdown was handled. The first may be unavoidable, the latter could and should be better.

Ugh, I logged on today to use up the freespecs I had banked, and learn that the 21st date was moved to the 17th? *sigh*

So after promising that we'd always get plenty of notice before being given freespecs, and then seeing that promise broken, and then being promised another one with plenty of notice as compensation, they suddenly move that freespec ahead? This is getting silly.

The conclusion I draw from this is that I should move from my standard, conservative "try to keep a freespec on hand at all times" approach (which insulates me from nerfs) to a "use your freespecs as soon as you need them" approach (which insulates me from losing out on unpredictable freespec grants).

It's like capped vacation time. Many companies cap how much vacation time their employees can accrue. HR tends to be very good about warning people months in advance that they're at or above the cap and need to use their vacation time by year-end or they lose it. Many folks use that vacation time just before year-end to avoid losing it. If HR made the cutoff date earlier with little warning, there would be an understandable uproar.

It's not good to screw with people's expectations.

Wow . I was counting on using my previous respec before the 21st. Guess NCNC did not feel the need to do what they said.
