Live Feedback: Issue 13 : Bases -- Rent & Editing

Until I pay it I'm not going to have access to the base, at which point I might want to disolve my group and just join another larger organization.

If it is worth dissolving a sg over not having 6000 prestige then it isn't much of a sg.
I'm paying way more prestige than that a month to keep our bases open.
It doesn't take many missions to get 6k prestige.
If you owe that much rent then you have been storing stuff for that whole time. If you take the storage items out of your base before you shutdown your account, you wouldn't owe any base rent when you came back.
Also - the owing base debt was a "maybe". I added this in as an option in my plans so that the DEVs would have had that to think about as well. Once again, I stress the "maybe".
Simply put, I had one idea of making base rent so it wasn't so screwy, but if the DEVS needed more reason to correct the issue then maybe adding debt would be necessary in order to make it worth the effort.
I think we all can agree that the current base rent system for when rent is due is pretty screwy at the moment.
This isn't really the suggestions area, but I knew that the DEVs would probably read what I had to say.
As this is not a discussion area, I'm not going to discuss this point any more.

I have one peeve...
I don't like the limit on the storage units. Only 30 on the invention storage is a pain. In order to keep a reasonable amount of storage around to make what I need, I've been forced to build up to 27 invention storage bins, which is three rooms of my bases...
This is to small an amount of space. I feel even 50 storage would be better... unwieldy to look through, but better. 100 would be even better than that.
If you are loath to create such things for fear that they will be an exploit, then add advanced storage devices that must be crafted.
i miss the good old days when racks held 2500- i would only need one rack and i could keep all my salvage nice neat and organized. Bah.
Ignoring anyone is a mistake. You might miss something viral to your cause.

This is probably why they limited it to 30. And no, I'm not criticizing you, I would store more than I currently am for my SGs (4 bins in each hero and villain base on each of my servers) if I had the room in my bases to do so.
Considering that I can store 352 salvage on just my main character using on-character, vault, and auction house storage, limiting SG salvage bins to 30 to prevent hoarding is ludicrous. I just use alts to hoard, I always have because I don't like being slave to a manipulated market.

Especially given that the racks still hold event salvage, and a lot of SGs/VGs stored A LOT more of that than just 30 pieces.
Two wrongs don't make a right. However, three rights make a left.

Thats what I was saying too ....
.... unfortunately it seems that this is a black hole thread
Guess I was right ... these "Live Feedback" threads are just complaint trash bins aka black hole threads
This seems the best place to post this, though buried though it is deep into the forum, I doubt anyone who cares will read it. Ever. But for fun and laughs, I'll try it anyway:
Starter Base Items:
We have starter power and control items, so even the smallest SG has a chance to get things up and running on even a primitive level. I love this actually, and it has gotten me interested in and involved in building bases for my super groups on rarely-played servers. But I'd like a little more still.
+++Enhancement Tables: I love having enhancement tables as options for storage. What better way to keep lower level enhancements until my lower level characters get the level or two they need to use them? For my main SG where all the members are RL and trusted friends, we can trade off enhancements from character to character, and that's a great SG ability. But what I'd really like to see are 'starter' enhancement tables. I'd willingly pay 10,000-15,000 prestige for a 10 item enhancement table.
+++Scroll Racks or Databases: We love the enhancement tables for enhancements and the storage vaults for salvage, so why not add an item that we can use to store recipes?
+++Transfer Vaults: Enhancements and salvage can be stored in bases and traded from character to character easily and safely, but sometimes I get an item on one server that I really need on a different server. Could we get a "Transfer Vault" that would allow us to send recipes, enhancements, or salvage from server to server? Say one Transfer Vault per account, and 5-10 items maximum? I know it'd probably be harder and more complex to code than storage is, but it would make outfitting characters easier for the multi-server players like me.
Just some thoughts and ideas. And to the Devs and all the support people: I love the game and the world it takes place in. Keep up the good work and thanks for giving us City of Heroes!

Stacking is much easier then the "magic desk process" was before.
Sometimes it is a little glitchy moving stuff in 3-d space, but I've been getting the hang of it.
I did find it odd that the base portal has such a wide lip on it.
It looks like in the near future, I might actually be moving a base to the next larger side (from the smallest size) as there will be no base rent increase based on size.
None of my sg's have into any kind of issue of not having the prestige to pay base rent yet.
