I got Tommy a D-Rex, a Bionicle and a Hermit Crab. The Hermit Crab is all set up at Uncle Max's and tonight after they're all in bed, I have to go there and bring Hermie home.. in a little jar, tucked safely in my bosom to keep him warm. Unfortunately, Hermit Crabs are NOT solitary animals, so I have to get him a friend or two.. and a larger tank. Hermit crabs can live up to 25 years.. *sigh*

Suggestion GP, make sure the rocks or whatever you have at the base of the Hermit tank DO NOT reflect light light mine did when I was a child. It gave a false appearance when you looked at it that the bowel itself still had water in it was in and it died of dehydration. Bad bad day for me being a kid. Oh, make sure to have a few extra larger shell upgrades for just in case.
I gots him blue sand, 3 extra shells (one is black with a peace sign), 2 clam shell dishes, a heating pad, a coconut half shell house, some weird brown wall for climbing and some coconut shell shavings for his nest. I'll change the water everyday and keep his bowl full of lettuce, popcorn and catfood.. Apparently, he needs friends so I'm buying him two more and a larger tank when I get the funds. Tom also got a D-Rex.. which is quite amusing. My older son got a DS and some Pokemon games and my daughter got a scanner, Sims Apartment Life and a Sims Game for her DS. The baby got a few toys and some clothing. He was so cute this morning.. he almost fell asleep in his Jolly Jumper, head sagging down, long drool string hanging and his legs would NOT stop jumping.. he's passed out in his carseat atm. The kids will be further spoiled over the next few daze. 
BTW.. Monkey is 4 months now and a whopping 18lbs 2oz!! My biceps are looking sweeeet.

GP, it's probably not less expensive but there are lots of Hermit Crabs here is SoCal. Not sure you're allowed to take them home but my boys sure do like catching them. And I'm glad you have extra shells because they don't grow their own.
We got the new Guitar Hero, Kung Fu Panda and a dozen Bakugan (probably not spelled right) which the cat seems to like since they roll.

The fun part was when the car's transmission took a dive on the way home from the hospital. We drove 25 in a 70 for 30 miles.. sooo not fun.
Oldest one wants to do a drawing contest. He says he has to draw a rodeo themed drawing and he's chosen a Rodeo Clown. Crayons and markers will be his medium. The are only accepting 20 applicants from his school. I hope he's chosen but either way I'm sure he'll have fun. I was in a sidewalk art contest when I was his age. I won 1st place for my age group. Unicorns... gets them every time

Christmas in two days. Everyone ready for...
1. The unavoidable scream of wee ones finding presents under the tree.
2. The inevitable mess of wrapping paper.
3. Bows being put on pet's heads.
4. Countless pictures of "look what you got" snap shots for albums.
5. Someone complaining about the the game or the parade on T.V.
6. The fact that the kids are bored already with what they got.
7. Something smelly coming from one of the grandparents?
8. The fact you have not yet cussed or shot one of the relatives yet.
9. The fact not been taken downtown and put in jail for the night.
10. Making the wee ones go EWWWW gross for kissing your spouse.
11. Having you're spouse say NO for the 100th time about catapulting the fruitcake someone gave you.
If you can see yes or no to all of these then you're sanity (what little there is left of it by now) will remain.
