This is actually an interesting and relevant topic for me. I've been working on a set of pin-ups of my main character, Light-Speed. The images are laid out and presented as if it were a Playboy spread, complete with interview, fact sheet, and centerfold... plus 3 - 4 smaller shots. I had originally assumed I'd post the images here, but am reminded that the boards are visited by a younger crowd, so it might not be suitable material.
That being said, I'll be following this discussion until the end.

I think those are some great examples, Turbo. It's a shame that the U.S. is just so incredibly repressed that a large segment of the our population just can't comprehend the concept and would view all of it as "sexually explicit."

I have as well.
The whole "Light-Speed in Playboy" idea hit me when I decided to grow the character up a little bit. I made her 4 years ago and imagined she was 16 at the time. Since it's 4 years later, she'd be 20 now... so I thought it would be a cool way to present an older version.
If I end up posting the images here, I'll probably just put an artsy little banner across the naughty bits. Of course, the full versions will be printed in glorious color and hang in my office. 
This argument is pointless. Board rules prohibit obscenity. Nudity of any kind is obscene, and hippies hiding behind "artistic nudity" excuse are simply infuriating. Context does not matter. If you are unable to understand the basic concepts of morality and decency as well as the importance of following rules, you should perhaps put the game aside and do some growing up.

Except, that's incorrect.
There are shades of grey in this issue, and it's up to the forum mods to decide. So far, they've been cool with it within certain perameters the local art community respects and maintains.
I can't help but think; 'Obvious Troll is obvious'.

So, you're saying that linking to Playboy here should be considered okay, then?
No, because this is City of Heroes FanArt forum. Playboy itself, unless they did a CoH-related spread, would not be appropriate linking material.
I won't further add to the debate, as you may note that my link to Albtraum 2 was edited out via Moderator Intervention and I can't comment on the specifics of that.
I appreciate the support of those who have commented, and do understand the objections that others have raised.
I'd love a constructive debate on the Screenshots and Fan Art Forum about this issue - however this thread shouldn't be used to do that at this point in time.
Therefore, I have asked this thread to be locked.

Once upon a time, it was considered against the "basic concepts of morality and decency" in the United States and many European countries for a lady to show her ankles.
Today, it's considered against the "basic concepts of morality and decency" in the Muslim culture for a woman to show her hair to a man who is not her husband. In some Islamic countries, women must conceal their entire bodies.
In Saudi Arabia, cross-dressing is considered against the "basic concepts of decency and morality" and will result in immediate beheading.
In the U.K., public nudity is legal (though dress codes are are being implemented in various establishments).
