Just a heads-up: I downloaded your pics so far, so if you have changes or want to swap out an entry for a different one, lemme know ASAP.

Oh, and a little bit of a poll...
Should I start creating a new thread for each week's palette or just keep adding to this one?

Keep on adding to this one. It's really cool to see the progression of the palettes as well as how much better everyone is getting with each palette.

I'll be swapping out mine for some better shots of her. Should have some posted today or tomorrow.

Oh and one thread works for me

One thread to rule them all, please.

Does that make me a fiery eyeball?

I think either option will work...

[u]One thread[u]

Pros - Since the topic is consolidated into one thread, less forum clutter and viewers can track participants' progression over time.

Cons - Thread may ultimately get too unwieldy. Participants may have to search for the current week's palette since it can sometimes get buried under miscellaneous discussion/entries.

[u]Different thread each week[u]

Pros - Easier organization wise since each weeks' entries will be in individual threads. Easier to track down each weeks palette since the palette will be the first post of each thread.

Cons - Viewers will be unable to track contestants' progression as easily as a consolidated thread. Multiple threads in the forum on a similar subject.

I leave the choice up to you Nazgul!

On a side note...I really need to get off my lazy bum and get an entry ready for this week. Darn work distracting me!

Well, it's contest has it's own html file, so I could link to them in the first post of every new palette thread for 'progression' perusal. Eventually, I hope to have them linked to my blog (see sig).

Better get your [censored] moving. Deadline's TOMORROW.

Dark Cover Surge entries have been posted. You have until the end of the day to notify me of changes/last minute entries!

In the meantime, I'll be looking for the next palette...

My entry is called 'Corpse Bride' not "the Bride" that was just part of my description. And I probably won't have time to retake a picture so my entry stands as is

Bah... started this one when the palette was posted and then totally discarded the first idea and promptly forgot about it so... last minute entry:

Stygian Claw –
Great costume and great name! This combination of colors and patterns works really well. The hood kind of reminds me of the main character from the Assassin’s Creed video game. The claws add a menacing look to what can only be a villain. Nice job.

Percival Cavendish –
The write up for this character really adds some much needed identity to what might otherwise be “too plain”. From certain angles the old man face looks zombie-ish. It’s too bad there isn’t a pipe option. It would work better than the cigar. Plus, the shillelagh ends up looking like a leg bone due to the limitations of the palette. Still, we have a character design that works on a thematic level.

Corpse Bride –
I’ve never really been a big fan of the blend option for costumes, but it really works in your favor here. The dark red is perfectly suited to the bloodstained gown look. Making her a necro MM is a no-brainer. Have you thought of a background for her? Perhaps zombies crashed her wedding during the first emergence of the walking dead…

Cobweb –
I’m kind of bummed that there aren’t any screencaps that really zoom in on the character. From what I can see, there is a good color pattern, and the chest option really helps in preventing the costume from being too red. Good mix of costume set pieces, too. What is on the side of her head? I’d like to see the boots and gloves in the lighter greys to see if it adds or detracts from the overall look. Still, looks good!

Voltaic Striker –
That chest emblem is a perfect fit for the ‘Diablo’ option (it is Diablo, isn’t it?). The eyewear is a great idea for an accessory, considering her powersets. If I had to nitpick, I’d say there’s just something about those boots that aren’t working for me.

Black Mary Chino –
I love the name. It basically translates to “Black Cherry” (maraschino cherries) for me, which makes sense to me since a lot of pirates were “Black” something or other. This character has a great swashbuckling feel to it, and the cheetah spots add to her mystery. Who is she? Where is she from? Is that one of the chains around her neck? Is there a reason why they’re there? If not, I’d change it to something else.

Little Crooked –
I’ve yet to use the jester pieces, myself, but you put them together effectively, using a good mix of red and grey. And the light grey serves as a nice accent color, that helps break up what might become monotonous and giving the eyes a place to rest and/or focus on.

Red Drakon –
I’m a little unclear as how best to approach this one. The main point for me is the scaled body parts – are they part of the costume or part of this characters flesh? The boots and gloves make me think “costume”, but the upper torso makes me think “flesh”. I would suggest making some alterations to clear up this visual misinterpretation. Keep the helmet, horns and wings, though. They really add to the monstrous effect that I can only hope you were going for.

Hamek –
I don’t have much to say that wouldn’t be repetitive. Good mix of red and darks, broken up into an easily identifiable pattern. The combination of pieces for the helmet looks great. The gladiator pads work really well in this design. I can’t tell if the visor and handprint is the light grey or the cream color, but it does seem like one of the colors is missing. If I wanted to be a stickler for the sake of this contest, I’d suggest using the light grey on the belt instead of the red. It’s almost as if it’s not really there.

Hallucinacannon –
Crazy name. I like it. Good, simple design. Almost reminiscent of Seraff’s golden age/silver age looks. I like how you’ve used the red-red as a centerpiece for the design, and since you used it as the main color of the beret, I’d suggest using it as the main color of the thigh highs, putting the dark red where the cream color is so you don’t end up with a light against light. Good job, overall. I could see this one having a Longbow version for one of its costumes.

That wasy sort of the idea. I generally don't do golden/silver age costumes so I added a layer of challenge for myself.
