Ok, I know we try to keep the majority of the posts here CoH Art related, but I just finished up this piece and really like it.

Captain America - 4000 is one of those pieces that just... worked out perfectly. I had this picture in my head for the last week or so, and everything just fit into place.

Hope you all dig the picture.

Nice, clean stuff as always, and with a somewhat heavy message attached, too.

You get a thumbs up from me.

Cool piece. I feel like it's the ideological brother to my Captain America piece!

Very good work, man, very good work.

"City of Heroes. April 27, 2004 - August 31, 2012. Obliterated not with a weapon of mass destruction, not by an all-powerful supervillain... but by a cold-hearted and cowardly corporate suck-up."

Where'd you manage to find that list?

Unfortunately, casualty lists from Iraq are common enough to find.

I tried to blur them out a bit so as to not make them the focus of the piece.

Perhaps a grief-stricken Cap would have been better? He embodies the ideals of America, not it's short-comings after all. And he would be disappointed in America right now, no doubt about it.

And I agree with the message. America has lost its way. The America I know doesn't invade other countries under false pretenses and doesn't torture people. We were the country, in WWII, that the Germans couldn't wait to surrender to because they knew they'd receive fair treatment (as opposed to the other option: the Soviets).

The Star Trek Deep Space Nine episodes "Homefront" and "Paradise Lost" made me see things like the Patriot Act in a whole new light. They first aired some years before the Act, but prove prescient and wise in their advice on how to deal with terrorism.
