SIGN-UP MIXED 5v5 TOURNEY for SATURDAY MARCH 8th

The PvPEC presents a SHW Mixed 5v5 test server Tournament!

Tourney will be held on the test server on Saturday, March 8th at 8 pm est.

Tourney will consist of 5 man teams with 5 non-repeating ATs and you must have at least 2 heroes and 2 villains on the team. When a team signs up, please list your test globals, along with a captain, and the primary/secondary of each team member. You must use your same team throughout the tournament and your captain will be your point of contact for the tournament.

The event will be similar to the world cup scoring/elimination system where:

1. Teams will be split up (in random order) into an even number of groups and placed in divisions. Each team will be named after their captains test global.

2. Teams within each group fight each other in a Swiss format, earning 3 points for each win, 1 point for each tie, and 0 points for each loss. If attendance is low for the event, then teams may fight between divisions to make sure everyone has an equal chance of playing and being scored. The number of rounds for this portion of the tourney will be determined based on number of teams attending and dependent on time constraints.

3. The top 4-8 teams (dependent on tourney size) will advance to the single-elimination part of the tournament to determine 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Group winners will be placed against runners-up. (i.e. Division A Winner plays Division B Runner-Up, etc.).

Specific rules and Guidelines:

-Each match will be 10 min with no other special options selected. You will fight each team in your division once.

-Only 1 cager will be allowed per team. You can have the cager be a vil or a hero. No more than 1 sonic and 1 bubbler on a team, and yes grav and dark miasma are allowed. If you bring a cager, please designate in your team sign-up which toon may/will cage.

-No vengeance can be used in matches, as it may be stacked. You can still have it in your build, but you cannot use it in a match, or your team will forfeit the match, and you will be disqualified.

-Tier 1 INS and arena temps will be allowed. No specials permitted such as SOW.

-The match between teams must start within 5 min of the tourney start time or announcement of the round. If a team is not ready, the other team can choose to automatically take the win.

-Captains must say all in before engaging. Teams have to wait (up to 1 min) for all players to zone into match. If one team is still short after the 9 min mark, then they are fair game and have to play down a player.

-You can request 1 reset per match due to disconnects or not having all players in by the 9 min mark.

-Reset on monkey cage, caves, and office map. Map resets do not count toward your 1 reset per match rule.

-After the match, both team captains will be required to send me the match results so I can verify and update team scores. Any problems or disagreements should be brought to me by the team captains only. I will update round results on the CoX pvp arena forums and in game during tourney.

-Sign-ups for this tournament will extend until Friday, March 7th at 10pm est. At that point I can not accept any more sign-ups and will prepare the official schedule and divisions.

jk, on a serious note, when you say they are "allowed" does that mean we can have a dual cage grav/sonic or grav/ff?

or does that mean i can use a grav/emp so long as i don't use/have dimension shift?

You can use grav/sonic and so forth. I don't want to restrict builds, but you can only use one caging power. I don't expect ppl to respec their builds that they are used to using, but just want to try and make it as fair as possible for a good playing experience.

Just note if you bring a grav/sonic to only use the caging power from one set in the actual match. So if you say the sonic secondary is going to cage... the opposing team shouldn't see a grav cage applied.
