How to make avatars?

I have no idea how avatars work....I don't know how to make them either xD. Is there some special way to do it? Sorry if I sound clueless...but I am..xD

any image will work, but any image you select that is larger than 80x80 pixels will get squished.

So what ever you want to use as an avatar is fine, but if you want to try and get something that looks the same you need to crop (cut down to size) a section of it that is 80x80 pixels.

Mine was made from a micro that Gammal.Girl made for me. The micro is actually taller, but I just cut the bottom off so it wouldn't squish.

you need to scale and crop with a photo editing program until you get the desired image down to 80x80 pixels. As for animations, well I use Adobe Imageready with Photoshop, but I'm sure there is some freeware program out there that does it too.

You have to have a program to do it, like adobe photoshop or etc.

I use Adobe Image ready! And I hear you can do it in flash too, though I've yet to experiment with exporting a flash as a gif file.

when I get flash reinstalled on my computer at home I'll have to try this, I'm tired of not being able to rotate stuff with ImageReady

Haha ya that was one of the first things I noticed about Flash and thought was super cool after playing with imageready. Also flash does that thing.. for animating.. where you can kinda see ghost images of your last few panels!

wow. I tried my pic on Photobucket and it wouldn't work so I tried it on ImageShack and it still won't work. any ideas?

Hmmm. Did you use the direct link to the image? Maybe your album being set private has something to do with it...
