I need some help.

Introduce yourself to new artists and art styles. I find that when I get one of these blocks, it's best solved by introducing a new variable that I'm not used to already. Looking at new and interesting art always starts up the fire again. Talking with other like minded artists does the same thing. At some point you become saturated with so much "damn, that's a cool idea" that you move into "damn it, I'm gonna draw that cool idea."

At that point, you're free.

Introduction of new artists and styles is a great way to combat artist's block.

I've found that sometimes, the best way to combat a lack of inspiration from art, is to get away from the art itself. Take long walks, get outside, see friends, socialize.

The doldrums can really put a cramp in creating art, and sometimes life situations get in the way. Just remember, that it'll pass and you've got a pretty big cheerin section for ya here on the forums

I haven't drawn anything in months, and run into the same thing happening while not the same cause I can have ideas, but the minute I get the paper and pencil, the only thing I can do is stare at it.

Seriously though, don't stress. Don't get hung up on it. The more you get frustrated with it, the harder it will be because everytime you pick up that pencil you're going to be thinking about all the times you did before and got nowhere.

Ignore it completely. Focus on other things, writing, craft stuff, video games, social stuff, reading, whatever strikes your fancy. Sooner or later you'll likely catch yourself dooling in crayon on the Macaroni Grill tablecloth or in pen on a bar napkin or whatever, and even if you don't, something that's supposed to be fun should not be causing you grief, because that's really sort of the antithesis of doing it

LOL omg I have drawn something supremely horrible thanks to something a friend said about fairies riding potatoes and hunting leprechauns.

Pics or it didn't happen.

oh god it's so embarrassing though >.<

It took me all of 3 minutes and it's undoubtedly the worst thing I have ever drawn because I just didn't care what it looked like since it was just for a joke.

....drawing images for images sake can get boring.

changing media does not do it for me.

put a story that is not evident in a single image. show a clever side. make it more.

1. a individual's shadow is not matching what they appear to be. (a devils horns and tail? forked legs? etc.)

2. danger! walking by a dark alley, in the darkness, only visable if one stares at the image for a moment or two, is a mugger geting ready to pounce!

3. ever try making a whole comic page (assuming you like comics, being where you post at...), instead of but one image? layout can be refreshing (you are a graphic designer, so you know this already)....but this will be more like a movie director's task. not just graphic layout......

4. practice facial expressions. does every toon have the same expression?

there should be no such thing as drawing block. just more /extended contemplation of what is to come. (do. or do not. there is no try. -yoda)
