the "base love" seems to be where they really need to hit , this alone would speak volumes to the community of base builders not to mention it afffects everyone
although its kinda clear that posi has no interest in bases as he didnt even remember recluses article

ok sadako..just read that but how is evilgecko's list exlibris's list? and ive gotta say while Lighthouse did respond..and i will admit the Dev team is working on some things that people really desire, He still refused to comment on anything in specific...and what we desire is specificity. I KNOW petitioning is against the rules, I KNOW that flooding Posi's inbox with PMs and cross posting will get me banned, so I am trying to get an official discussion thread set up, the only problem is that whenever one of these questions comes around as they always do, we never get the specific answers or even definite answers to the questions. Even clarification of the problem/issue threads wont get us anywhere because they will just throw up the old "we cant comment' "we wont comment" or one of those excuses, and as stated we in the base crowd have played the waiting game for longer than most.

I know. My point is that Ex has already said she'll bring the list to the Devs' attention and try to get us some feedback on it, so it makes sense to keep up the support for that project rather than going off on tangents, especially since bases and the CoP were mentioned in the list.
Ex is away at GenCon this weekend, but when she gets back, I hope she'll give us some of her time over this...
Well, I was very polite in my PM. And I have been patient too. I would *hope most people sending PMs to Positron would act the same way.
But they need to hear us. Things were very clear in Castle's interview that if they don't think it's that important, they put it to the bottom of the To-Do pile. Sure, priorities need to be set but I don't see the harm in letting them know it's important to us.
As I said, posting in the CoP thread hasn't gotten us anywhere. And if the devs got so angry from an outpouring of opinion from their fans/customers to ban people for speaking their minds, maybe this isn't a game I want to support? I think, Sadako, our opinions of what this is about is totally at different ends of the spectrum. You see this as spamming/strong arm tactics versus my view of "writing your congressman"/asking for change.
So we can respectfully agree to disagree, I suppose.

honestly the one of the things that infuriated me was the fact the the "Official" CoP thread is locked. Why would you do something like that? if the only thread left is the "Unofficial" CoP thread then how are we ever going to get a redname to post for us?
Side Note: Ex Libris is by far the best Dev/Community outreach person they have, she has given us much to hope for and has given us many things that have been asked for. She is the one i will ask to start the official thread here. I doubt anyone else would.

Well petitions are against board rules and are prolly rather ignored by the devs.
I do agree that they dont want to read the same message over and over, and a unified post from an organizational standpoint suggesting improvements would be probably well recieved by the devs.
Perhaps we could post this in the 'suggestions and ideas' section of this forum..? As we are really suggesting that more attention paid to SGs and bases would make a great improvement..:-)

You may! But I did not interpet that as "Posi, you bleep-bleep-bleepity-bleep! Do it NOW!" If he were to hear from many of us begging for action, he might say "Hey, I didn't realize bases were so important to people."

This is a reply to the ENTIRE thread.
What you do not understand is that a lot of times, such as the _Castle_ interview, there are rules as to what they can and cannot say publically. Anything official has to be vetted through "proper" channels first. We don't have to like it, but that is the way things are run around here. This happens a lot in the business world.
If anyone thinks that only the scoop and the forums are limited in this way, I would suggest that ask Forbes or some other business publication about interviewing businesses.
That all being said, the developers from the hints we've been getting are working on the game. Doing what amounts to a denial of service to the lead developer's inbox will not help get bases looked at any sooner.

Even if you get an official feedback thread, I wouldn't expect much. Like I said, it would have to be looked at by various levels of management/pr/etc people before the thread gets under way.
Upcoming issue information, things that are currently being developed, exploits, etc. might prevent any meaningful information from being officially posted.

I acknowledge all these facts...including that Ex is away, however should such a thing be approved it will be like our planned idea of repeated PMs except it wont get us banned and maybe more people will be drawn in, i dont know, but i do know that trying this stuff in the suggestions and ideas forum is a waste of time..did it already and within 3 posts i decided to discontinue it.

That and unless the devs are planning it in the next issue, they wont put it in, at least for a long time, we just want info from a dev, I think I can speak for the whole base builders community when I say that we've waited long enough and that we want more items, I mean, how hard is it too do that, it doesnt take long too put in a reply and Posi, just tell us what you plan too do, nothing cryptic, just straight foward. And I'll say it again, the only reason that we decided too mass pm Posi is because anything less is being ignored. You cant ignore that many pm's, you just cant, anything conventional that follows the rules isnt being payed attention too.

alright i am completely confused.. are we suppose to PM him or signoff on a thread.. you have my vote for this just tell me what I need to do! the reason i asked is a saw a similar thread under guardian, but there was a post there which stated not to after a few responses? Unless I missed it I did not catch a post for it here.
As the OP i discontinued the three other versions of this thread i started in Guardian, the PvP base forum, and the suggestions and ideas forum. PMing positron is totally your perogative now..you may use the provided form if you wish but personalize it a bit and make it more polite..add in your personal questions. Otherwise no we are tyrying to avoid the mass pm/cross forum posting which could get us banned somehow, and the signing off thing will come with the official discussion thread...just wait till Ex Libris gets back.

well all the other threads have requests in them that people discontinue posting in them and not to PM Positron..i really dont want to be banned for one, and i think that sadako and Lemur Lad have given me some great insights..will speak with community rep and see about how things go..although i will politely PM positron at a later date about the issues.
