Take out the extra spaces, I had to toss them in so that the brackets would actually show up. You can't use the image tag, because non-admins cannot place embedded images.

So for example:
Unbidden's Symbol

is formated:

[ url=http://www.wolfskeep.com/unbidden/icon-pillar.jpg ] Unbidden's Symbol [ /url ]

(without the spare spaces after the [ and before the ]) That help?

As a Builder of Bases I am an amateur compared to some of the true artists here. However I have designed a few that I am proud of.
Here is the first for your viewing pleasure, Defenders of Science. It was the 2nd base I designed, and really doesn't show any magic desk fanciness.

Overview
Entrance & Break Room
Med-Bay
Med-Bay (Looking back towards the Break Room)
Temple Hall (Looking from the Med-Bay.)
Temple Hall (Looking back towards the Med-Bay)
Temple Hall (Looking right towards TP-Bay Alpha)
Temple Hall (Looking left towards the Conference Room)
Confrence Room (Power)
Confrence Room (slightly different angle)
Main Lab (Workshop, Looking from Conference Room)
Main Lab (Looking back towards Confrence Room)
TP-Bay Alpha (One of 3)

I have been greatly inspired and influenced by a variety of the Artists here and I give my thanks for the ideas they have given me, and who's ideas I have borrowed.

Nice job, Mid! Looks really nice... I do like the 'under room' with the power unit as well ;-)

My base isn't nearly as sexy as some of the others posted, but I did manage some nifty looking things (like the crew quarters and the loft) so I figured I'd share. The supergroup is made up of two of my friends and I, myself being the only one who still plays regularly and the only one who has earned more than 50k prestige. The supergroup and the characters in it are based off of a sea-faring DnD game that my one friend ran a few years ago. So, here's The Serpent Brothers' Base.

Thanks. I like your loft too. My base is not nearly as decorated as yours, yours actually has an ambiance to it which mine lacks. Eventually I'll get there with mine but being the only one to be earning prestige for it, and only having 4 of my 15 toons on the server in the SG... makes it kinda hard to afford all the nice decorative stuff. One day I'll finish it off more and make it feel less sparse, but it is supposed to be reminiscent of a ship, so I guess the sparseness kinda works lol.

You know what? That is absolutely stunning - by far the best example of magic desking I've seen lately. Which piece did you use, btw? It's seamless, no gaps at all, and that really attracts me to trying it - and what's more you actually attempted a parket flooring pattern which just adds to the brilliance. I'm unashamedly going to attempt the staircase to the loft/mezzanine if/when I ever get magic desking to work for me...

Wow. Thanks. The piece that I used to make the loft is the darker of the two small bookshelves. The light colored bookshelf doesn't piece together well, but the darker one has no gaps when placed together. Be prepared to spend a lot of time when you do try it. To make the stairs work properly, I had to use the floor-adjustment trick to get each tier at the right height. It didn't take nearly as long as the crew quarters since there wasn't nearly as many shelves being used, but it still took most of a day to get it done. Good luck to you and I hope to see your results if/when you get it working for you.

Great work on the floats.

I hope they give us more deco items soon specially sleeping quarter items. It's just kinda silly that after a hard day of "saving" the world, we all go home to our billion dollar establishment to rest our tired bodies on straw mats or old cots.

Still very new to the whole base building thing. (Building for about a week and a half now, I think.) And there's only a small handful of us since in our couple of weeks as a VG we haven't really done any recruiting.

I like how you used the lateral files, floor heights and ceiling heights to give rooms many different areas. The overall feel of the base is also really nice.

The typical day in Comic_Relief's SG goes something like this:

Before the sun rises we gather before a statue of HER where we perform morning prayers and self flagellation.

For meals we gather before Comic_Relief and prostrate ourselves and chant "We're not worthy" while she sits upon her throne. Eunachs hand feed her figs and dates while fanning her with palm fronds. If she is pleased she tosses us scraps of food.

In between meals we fight each other for her amusement. This helps stimulate her imagination and allows her to craft the architectual wonders you see displayed in peoples bases.

In the evenings we gather again for prayers and offer a virgin sacrifice to our architectual goddess. We then finish ceremonies by committing ritual suicide.

On Sundays we rest.

Hence why I'm waiting to finish it off. I did all that work back a couple months ago before I heard that base building is gonna get altered. I'm hoping that whatever they do will let my base stay as is and just add function though. If I have to redo all that (even with a better system in place to place things on the vertical axis) I'll be a bit upset to say the least.

OMG Forby you absolutely killed me with that post lol. always a great way to start the day with a good chuckle. Thank you for that.

Unstable, Titan, PandaDoll and others I may have missed since my last peek at this thread - very nice job on the bases!

Clasher - I'm flattered at your interest, but I'm not recruiting. I don't run any active SGs/VGs. The few private bases I have are for my amusement. I tinker in them when I'm not building for others. There are a few reasons I don't run any active SG/VG groups. One, I have way too many alts to commit to one for extended periods of time. I have alts in my private groups and in groups with friends. The toons that are in groups with friends get played more than any of my toons in my private groups lol. Also, my actual playing is sporadic to say the least. A large portion of my game time is spent building bases. Another good portion is spent RPing. I wouldn't feel right about recruiting for an SG when I'm so busy with other things. I couldn't guarantee that I'd be able to be there all the time to interact with a members. And I certainly wouldn't want people to feel like prestige mules, accumulating prestige in a group that I can't commit the same amount of time to. It just wouldn't be fair for the SG leader to have earned far less prestige than the rest of the group because they're always off working on a base for another group. I hope all that made sense....I tend to ramble lol.

Now, if you have a base that you'd like me to work on for you, super, get in touch with me via a PM here If you're in an SG/VG that might be interested in hiring a decorator, have them contact me here Just be sure to warn them in advance that I do have a few projects going currently, and a few "clients" waiting in the wings for me to finish the current projects. So I can get the ball rolling by collecting info on the group, but can't begin work immediately.

Glad you enjoyed it. I hope the basebuilding is going well for you. I'm getting a new rig to replace this 5 year old tower. I might be fighting with Vista for a bit. I couldn't find any that came with XP. Hope to see you online again soon.
