It would be cool if the NPC's like standing in front of City hall would call out headlines....

OH I have a wonderful idea for one your stories. We have a thread on our server section called the Stalker Report. The author is really funny!
I think a nice addition would be to get some of those wizards on the "Technical Issues and Bugs" Forum such as FatherXmas and BillZBubba (to name a few) to write up some weekly help column. I swear that some of those guys don't play CoX anymore, they just help some of the less fortunate day in and day out.
This sounds like fun!

this is an excellent idea! wouldn't be too hard to implement and could boost readership/involvement at least somewhat.
also, Marcian, i can't help but suggest this thread about Signature Powers for one of those sets of links you mentioned.

What about a costume spotlight, done from the view of one of the Tailors/Facemakers? It could show a different hero and/or villains costume each time, highlighting the different fashions prevailant throughout.

/sooo signed!!! there are some incredibly good costumes out there. let's give those creative types some love.
I'd also suggest that you get Tropic to make the update lists to CoH Writers' Guild into a weekly article. It would be an easy way to raise visibility to all the creative storytellers we have here.
I know I'm pretty new around here, but I'd be willing to contribute as a writer. I've had some experience with AP journalistic-style interviewing and storywriting.

What we're trying to do is get together a sort of mini guide. Every week, we are going to put out an issue of City Scoop. The City Scoop will contain everything noteworthy that has happened within the last week.
What we're looking for:
Anything noteworthy. If you want people to know that it happened, we're the way to get the word out.

I'm working on a sort of tribute song to the cities (was doing it just for myself, but now that I see this happening...), don't know when it'll get done. I'd love to share it through this channel if possible. I'll update ya'll when I can. 
Sounds awesome Cave Ant, but I suggest you post it in the Section for creative stuff, since that's where it belongs, then send a PM to Marcian or Teldon with linkage.
Ideally I think they're looking to make this adjunct to the normal forums. A kind of Best of compilation. So even things made specifically with an eye to getting into the Scoop ought to be where they belong in the regular forums.

Seems to me that the ideal way to make the Scoop visible to non-forumers is to put a link to it on the Updater.

I love the idea of making Angus's "Ask the Newbie" into a regular column. He consistantly comes up with wonderful answers.
I suggest a spotlight on Guides. Feature some of the best, with reviews of why the Guide is good, and list any new Guides that have been written. Some of the very best info on the boards is preserved there, and the folks who put in the time to write them deserve the recognition, too.

Not really. HEck I bypass the updater most of the time. I only go through it when there is a patch.
I think we should have some polls so that the devs can see what questions we are interested in hearing the most. the devs would not have to be involved in any way but it would be a hard numbers thing to help the devs who look at the "City Scoop" Ideas on what we want to hear about in the ask a dev sections and any interviews they have on w00tradio.com and such.
Also I was thinking of a funny "whats this scene?" or "whats he saying?" section where people make up funny (but tasteful) subtitles to submitted screenshots.

I think it would be cool to include some kind of Market Report. I've done part of one for the villain side, focusing on salvage prices, here.
What would be really cool is if the auction servers could generate a report from their database, rather than have a player like myself take notes with pencil and paper, but I dunno how willing the devs would be to make that happen.

Only other heroes see this right? Some of us would prefer the civilians not know who's "behind the mask"
As long as only heroes are reading this I'd be happy to submit myself for an interview and if we can pull my Primal Earth counterpart away from LA for a little while I'm sure he'd love to clear up some confusion about us, mainly that there are currently four versions of us running around on Primal Earth and most heroes are still unsure why.
Only 2 are still present in Paragon City and the Rough Isles, myself and Lord Vestereo. Alot of the confusin seems to be about exactly what Lord Vestereo is and why I stay in your world even though I've been free to go home to Mythical Earth for the last couple years.
Or maybe no one ever realizes I'm from another dimention still I'd like to clear some things up and let everyone know what horrors await should I die.
