“Jovial?” Sis smirked. “And here I thought I was showing irritation. I’ll have to work on that.”

[/ QUOTE ]

“I was being sarcastic. Who uses jovial in normal conversation?” Ian managed to laugh half-heartedly. He figured there was a reason she was keeping her distance.

[ QUOTE ]
“Nice to meet you, Ian. I’m Mary, but everyone calls me Sis. I’m on ‘vacation.’…And my eyes are up here.” Sis grinned, softening the statement. “You’re part of the welcome wagon?”

[/ QUOTE ]

He returned her grin with a wider grin, particularly to push back his slightly redden cheeks. “Well, nice to meet you too, Mary. I’m sure you’ll enjoy yourself here if you don’t mind relaxing once in a while.” He returned his attention to his tea and shuffled the ice a bit. “Not really but I do everything else that doesn’t require a medical license around here so why not.” Although an exaggerated statement, he did express it in a genuine demoralized fashion.

Nice, cheerful, enthusiastic, helpful he repeated again in his head. “Not that I don’t want to. I get to meet a lot of…nice people so it’s worth it.”

[ QUOTE ]
Turning back to Ian, she chuckled. “You’ve got a harem, brother. Lucky you. Just, no ice breakers, ‘kay? I can’t stand ‘em.”

[/ QUOTE ]

Burying his eyes in his drink, Ian weakly smiled and laughed at the joke. “Hehe, I’m not complaining but I couldn’t possibly get in that sort of mood around here anyway…” …not to mention I’m not suppose to.

“Hey, aren’t you hungry or thirsty? You could get to know some of the people that will be staying here if you visit the snack table…that’s why you came to this little party right?” Ian asked in an attempt to change the subject. “I’m sure you’re not really irritated and don’t want to be here,” he said with a smidge of sarcasm, “or would you rather me get you a drink instead?”

“Sis. Just call me Sis, it’s easier.” She shrugged. “Relaxing isn’t really something I do. I’m gonna be stir-crazy in a few days I’m sure. I’m also gonna murder my SG-mate. Bloodily.” She managed to keep a completely straight face as she made the pronouncement.

Sis snorted in a very unladylike manner. “Right. ‘Cause every teenage boy wants to be spending his free time hanging out with a bunch of twitchy Heroes on the mend. I can just imagine how well that goes over with the girls at school.” Sis’s tone took on a false cheer. “‘Oh a date? Gosh, that would be great, but I have to go help some doctors jam a sedative into someone’s arm. Maybe next weekend?’” She laughed bitterly. “Right.”

Sis fluttered a hand to her heart, equally sarcastic. “Oh, would you? That would be so thoughtful.” It only lasted a moment before she dissolved into laughter. “Yeah, whatever. I guess I could get some water…and I really am irritated to be here, Ian. They’re making me go through some horrific sessions tomorrow. I’m not looking forward to it at all.” She pushed off the wall and started to weave through the chairs towards the table of snacks. “What I really need is to find is a sparring partner. I can’t just take three weeks off, even if I am supposed to taking it easy. Resistance training is all well and good, but it can’t take the place of forms practice. You know? Besides, what am I supposed to do? Punch trees? There’s got to be a gym or something here.”

Nodding in greeting to the others near the table, she snatched up a bottle of water and cracked the lid off. Taking a sip, she eyed the snacks and shook her head. The brochure for the Spa had said that dinner would be served every night, so she figured she’d wait. And sneak off campus when it turned out to be health food. Except she had promised she wouldn’t sneak off. Maybe she could find a phone book and get delivery. Turning back to Ian, she asked, “Any pizza places deliver around here? Or am I stuck with institutional food?” After a slight pause, she added, “And did I violate a dress code or something?”

Cortianna looked over the gathered teens, children and adults with a faint expression of fear before stepping into the room.

Standing at the door isn't going to get anything done...

Stepping toward the food table to start off with, Cort randomly picked up the first thing her hand closed on. She looked up at the nearest person and nodded with a strained smile.

"Hi, I'm Cortianna."

I must not set them all on fire, I must not set them all on fire...

Ian simply nodded to Sis’ insistence to be called by her nickname. He silently listened to her speak about her dislike of relaxation. He almost felt sorry for her and began comparing himself to her. He didn’t want to mature into a hero that was all business. Being so serious always influenced how one deals with criminals and with a weapon like his, you have to have some compassion for your opponent. He chuckled a bit at her plans to return this favor on her super group, knowing she couldn’t possibly be so cruel to harm her friends in any sort of brutal manner.

As he passively listened, he began to get more and more aggravated by this woman. He began grinding his teeth and his brow began to twitch slightly. What impudence! What disrespect! As Sis walked toward the reception table, Ian angrily rose to his feet. He lost control of the grip on his cup and accidentally crushed the styrofoam, leaking several pieces of crushed ice at his feet. Nice, cheerful, enthusiastic, helpful, he repeated to himself.

“I am here because I want to be,” he growled in a moderately quiet voice. He tried his best not to draw too much attention to himself but his mental phrasing technique wasn’t working entirely. “I’m my own man and this is how I decided to help. I could have easily donated a million or so dollars to some orphanage to make myself look good and pick up girls but I didn’t. I don’t appreciate what you’re implying.” He started out in a very angry yet hushed tone but quickly it change with his last sentence being more passive.

With a long sigh, he finally let what she said go and his mood took a complete 180. He laughed lightly along with her. “Fine, I was just trying to be nice…I guess you don’t want my help then….and don’t ask me to sweet talk the staff into letting you skip any part of your relaxing vacation,” Ian said with a smirk and crossed his arms across his chest.

This is where Ian instantly brightened up. “Spar!? Oh! Oh! I can help you with that! If you want a partner I’m always ready for a scrap!” He didn’t have to repeat anything in his head to make himself seem enthusiastic and his voice might have been a little too loud. “…but I’m not really sure if they have any kind of facility to host that kind of activity…I guess I’ll have to ask around.”

Ian’s sly smirk returned and his arms wrapped tighter over his chest. “…but you’re fine without my help…I’m sure you can somehow teleport a delivery man here, which is impossible, or pass around security clearance requests for a few select pizzerias by yourself.”

He followed behind Sis, grinning smugly and got another cup of ice tea. He then noticed another girl walk in and introduced herself near the snack table.

[ QUOTE ]
"Hi, I'm Cortianna."

Ian lightly patted her shoulder and handed her another cup. “Hi, Cortianna. Nice to meet you. My name’s Ian and if you ever need talk to about junk, don’t hesitate to ask for me,” he said with a beaming grin.

“Cool!” Ella squeaked.

“You have some frosting on your face” Ella wanted to reach over and help Jaime with it but she saw what had happened to the napkins.

Ella figured she introduce Jamie to the few people she met. “That’s Tallia over there I just met her, and that’s Ian but I haven’t met the blonde woman yet” They were just starting to head their direction.

Ella had watched Alissa enter and take her seat. The black track suit was a warning. Ella’s handlers also warned her about staying away from the woman. Technically Ella should have been in a black track suit instead of white, but again her people insisted on putting her in a white suit so she would blend in. Ella couldn't argue with the logic of blending in as much as she hated wearing white.

“That’s Alissa” Ella signed the second part of the statement {You probably should stay away from her}

Despite the warning Ella had a deep urge to go over and brush her hair for her. No one should be seen that messy, again this wasn’t Ella’s true feelings. Still there was something else about her that made Ella long to go talk to her. Ella got the same feeling from the cat-girl that hid in the woods (mostly). Ella tried to stalk the cat-girl several times, but the cat-girl had better woods skills than Ella did, and secondly the woods scared Ella.

“I don’t know who that guy is” (Roger)

[snip]Punch trees? There’s got to be a gym or something here.”

Ella overheard the last bits of Ian’s and Sis’ conversation on their way over. Ella misunderstood the ‘punch trees’ question. Punching trees seemed like a perfectly understandable pastime to Ella. In Ella’s dreams the trees punched back.

Ella stepped around the table to stand closer to Ian and Sis, maybe a little too close to Ian “Don’t be silly Ian of coarse there’s a gym.” Her mannerisms morphed from less girlish to borderline flirtatious. With her delicate fingers she smoothed out a wrinkle in the shoulder of Ian’s uniform. She kept the hand on his shoulder.

Ella’s large eyes turned to Sis.

“The food here is actually surprisingly good; the town is a little far away. Plus with all of the security protocols you’d never get anything here hot”

“You are completely out of dress code.” Ella rolled her eyes to emphasize the statement. “You should give me your shirt right now” Ella dropped her hand from Ian’s shoulder and removed the jacket from her track suit to trade with Sis. Of course she was completely lying but she really wanted the red shirt. Ella had on a standard white sports bra under the jacket. Her skin continued to be bone white and flawless. Despite past injuries there wasnt a single visible scar.

Thankfully Cortianna showed up before the situation could continue to get awkward.

Ella still standing uncomfortably close to Ian, elbowed him lightly in the side. Ian got a very small inkling that Ella was dramatically stronger than she looked.

“You should introduce us too” Ella reached past Ian to offer her hand to Cort. She purposely brushed her body against his as she did so. “I’m Ella. That’s Jaime. I really like your hair” Ella motioned to the chilly blue girl, again pressing against Ian when she did so. Ella's eyes quickly scanned in Cort making note of the glowie, she wasn't close enough to read the serial number on it though.

Ella reshifted her gaze to Sis and offered her hand to her too.

((Ack, didnt expect this to become a monster post. Hope that I didnt forget anyone))

A blonde man with cool blue eyes finally awoke, and attempted to sit up.

A sharp, stabbing pain in his right arm discouraged this action.

He fell back down, gritting his teeth to hold back a yelp of pain, and glanced down at it. A cast, almost completely made of metal it seemed, covered everything but his fingers on the arm. There was an adjustable joint on the elbow, but other than that, the arm was pretty useless at this point.

"This always happens," the hero muttered darkly, sitting up carefully this time, "I ALWAYS forget the Techno-Cast."

After about half a minute of getting his footing to stay upstraight, he nodded. "Ah, Experiment 2.0, technological extraordinare, and master of breaking bones. MY bones..."

---------------------------

It took a minute or two, but he finally figured out how to open the double doors leading out of the room with one hand. Sure, he could have gotten out with just one door, but he was curious.

He traversed his way through the hall, picking up a chair, badly, that he absentmindedly kicked over. He finally arrived at another set of doors, and walked through, with his newfound skills of opening two doors with his left hand. After crossing the grounds, he then entered the partly-filled area, and grinned. The grin quickly left. First, he didn't want to interrupt these people.

Second, he didn't want to interrupt these people with a joke as lame as 'Aww, a welcoming commity?! You shouldn't have!'

Instead, he simply waved his right hand, causing a surging pain and lowering it, then raised his left hand in the same gesture, and muttered a low "Hi."

After Ella left her, Tallia was at a loss for what to do. None of the food looked particularly appetizing, but she was fairly hungry, so she took a few crackers and some dip and sat back down near a wall far from the door, so she could watch people coming in. She paid close attention to the first few to enter, mostly girls, trying to remember their appearance and her initial thoughts on seeing them. She was usually pretty good about estimating people from the get-go. She watched and listened as various people held "icebreaker" conversations, introducing themselves and talking about why they had come to the clinic.

As more and more people entered the room, she started to get a little uncomfortable. She had not been exposed to very many strangers in her recent past, and while she could handle meeting one or two new people at a time, being bombarded by so many people at a time was starting to make her feel nervous. Even without them coming to talk to her, being around them all at once was almost more than she could take. She started to wish more and more that she could activate her stealth, to just dissappear and sneak out of the room. Surely no one would notice. She then considered just getting up and leaving. She could sneak up to her new room and maybe take a shower to help her relax.

Then an even more sinister thought entered her mind. Maybe she shouldn't be here at the clinic. Maybe she should just go back to her unit. Maybe they hadn't noticed that she was missing, and she could get right back in without any problems. Sure, that's what she would do, just go back, pretend that nothing had ever happened.

But something had happened. How could she have forgotten? Of course she couldn't go back. Even if nothing had happened, they would certainly want their tech back, and she had already surrendered all of it to Mr. Henry. That alone would be enough to get her killed. No, she couldn't go back. Ever.

Lost in her anxiety and thought, she didn't notice when someone had come up to her, she hardly noticed that the person was standing next to her, and if they said anything, she didn't hear them. When she finally snapped out of it, they were looking down at her expectantly.

Jaime felt herself being pulled with Ella, going from person to person, being introduced. It was dizzying, even for her. She gave people little waves, kept a smile on her face, but her gaze kept falling back to the girl in the chair, sitting alone. Why did she go over there, when there were so many people here to talk to?

----------

Alissa watched the room, her gaze turning more and more sour. Yes, she was a lone wolf, yes, she usually enjoyed what alone time she could manage, but this was absurd. No one had even ATTEMPTED to greet her. What the hell...

As the blond, blue eyed man entered the room, Alissa watched with interest. Injured... fun... she kept her gaze on him with the aim of locking eyes. Then she might not look as much like the dirty, sinister, violent outcast like everyone seemed to think she was. After all, she wasn't dirty.

At her touch, Ian just turned his head in Ella’s direction them back to Sis. “See? I guess we’ll be able to set a workout date soon but I’ll need to check my schedule. I’m pretty busy but I’ll try to squeeze you in.”

His brow shot up for a moment at this. What condition could this girl be in for her skin to be perfectly white all over. He dismissed the though when he figured he might be staring. Not staring because she was only wearing a sports bra (he’s seen plenty of heroines wearing more revealing things) but because she looked a bit strange(but strange looks hasn't stopped him before).

Ian literally held his breath when Ella persisted to be near him which was then forced out of him when a relatively strong elbow punctured his side. “Oh, s-sorry. This is Mary but she goes by the name Sis,” he stuttered and motioned to the ‘slightly’ irritated woman beside him.

When Ella’s smooth skin brushed against his as she drew closer, Ian quickly scanned the room for an escape. There was a possibility he would receive a scolding if any of the staff saw him like this so he tried to find someone or something to remove him from interesting yet awkward situation. A familiar face quickly drew his attention, “Is that John?” Ian blurted out loudly. “Experiment 2.0? What are you doing here?” He started walking toward the newcomer, hoping Ella would release him as he went. “What is that thing on your arm? Some new device you thought up?” Ian had the full intent of poking, prodding, and banging on the metal case on the man’s arm.

Experiment rolled his eyes, still grinning. "Nah, it wasn't my idea. While I DID make it, my sister insisted on the design. Apparently, she can't handle seeing my arm bend backward out of shape after maybe two or three mallet-strikes." he replied, bowing as much as his cast of metal and shiny, useless lights allowed him to.

However, at another glance, he grinned again. "So, Ian, I see you have a little girl-thing going on here. Don't let me interrupt, y'know, I know how important 'girl-time' is..."

Towards the back of the room was a young girl of about 18, seated in a powered wheelchair with a blanket over her legs. Her skin was fair and her hair an oddly dyed bright yellow-green color. Behind the wheelchair stood a much older man who was likely her father.

"It will only be for a short while." He told her.

"A short while is still too long." She replied in an annoyed tone.

"The suit isn't just being repaired, I have many new upgrades for it but they must be tested thoroughly first, to make certain that they are safe for you to use." He told her in a fatherly voice. "Besides, you could really use a rest."

"I'm powerless, you have any idea what that feels like?" She spoke through clenched teeth, still refusing to look at him.

"And if you don't take it easy for a bit you might be that way forever." It was obvious that his patience was waning. "Jasmine, you've been pushing yourself too hard and your body is deteriorating even faster. I don't know if the poison is still at work or if it might be the suit even. Until we know for sure you're going to stay here and let the doctors do their best to help you. They have some new treatments that are very promising."

Jasmine was silent for a good while, then looked back over her shoulder at her father. "Just for a few weeks, ok?" She asked him. It was clear in her eyes that she did not want to be here for even that long of a time.

"No more than a month, I promise you that." He reached down and patted her on the shoulder. "Why don't you try to make some new friends here." He said, indicating the people gathered across the room.

Jasmine showed no inclination to move from where she was.

Ella was curious to see how the staff would react to her behavior. She knew she was monitored, but she wasn’t exactly sure just how closely. Not to mention she did find Ian very likable, it was a bonus that he could move freely and had access. It would be unlikely that Ian would get in trouble over her behavior. Her handlers would not like it, but would prefer not to bring extra attention to her, by pulling Ian aside to scold him. At least that was Ella’s highly educated guess.

Ella allowed the tips of her fingers to linger on the retreating Ian as he left then turned to face Sis. She almost followed Ian so she could go sign Experiment’s Techno-cast, but had to finish with Sis first.

Ella started to pull her jacket back on. “I’m sorry Sis” Her face changing to girlish guilt, her head slightly downcast, eyes on the floor. “I lied to you. There is no dress code. You are allowed to wear whatever you want….as long as it doesn’t contain weapons.” Her eyes briefly looked in Tallia’s direction. “The track suits are just to provide guest with something comfortable to wear”.

Her head still slightly downcast Ella looked up at Sis through her bangs, and shuffled her feet uncomfortably. “I just wanted your red shirt…I liked it”

“Haha! You’re such a kidder,” is all Ian said about the ‘girl-thing’ with his ever enthusiastic grin. “So you broke your arm? And you didn’t put a cast on it right away so it could heal? You’re tougher than I first thought.” He laughed and shook Experiment’s hand (the one not broken), glad that he successfully change the subject.

Finally letting his laughter and smile die out, he scratched his head quizzically. “But you still didn’t say why you’re here. Did Jenny really make you come or did you just feel like getting a bit of rest and relaxation?”

Ian didn’t bother to ask Experiment if the seat next to him was taken and without care, plopped himself down. “I’ve met some nice ladies around here in the last few days if you plan to stay a few weeks,” Ian commented before taking a long drink of his tea. After he emptied the cup, he leaned a bit closer to Experiment so they could speak a little softer. “I’m sure you don’t need my help, but if your arm is busted I can try and organize a…few activities for you and some attractive and eligible ladies to help pass the time.”

His gaze centered on Talia then Sis before he let his eyes sink to the floor. “…but I can understand if you’d rather not deal with such a hassle. In which case, I can try to get you a really nice nurse...and notoriously hot.”

Experiment let his eyes wander, holding back a chuckle.

Yeah, because I SO didn't spend most of my time trying to figure out how to make my computer spontaneously form a cast from thin air like it did that jello-box... No siree... No stupidity and or slowness here...

Experiment sighed, rolling his eyes slightly. "I don't come to relaxing places of my own accord unless it is my 'relaxing place.' If there aren't explosions or lots of techy-electricy sounds, I am not relaxed. This has Jenny written all over it. Hell, she hid most of my devices so I couldn't even mess with stuff while I was here... Just don't let me near a toaster with a fork or something if you don't want any boominess."

Experiment glanced around quickly, his grin spreading yet again, and he lowered his own voice. "Usually, I would have to decline, due to my sister's constant nagging, getting in the way, or otherwise voluntarily ruining my happiness..." He chuckled slightly, and continued. "However, since it appears that she has left me to my own devices for a while, I think I could hang out here for a while, perhaps see how much damage this thing can take before exploding, burning me slightly, and causing a delayed stay... Y'know, hypothetically speaking that is..."

[/ QUOTE ]

A smile twitched across Sis' face. "I see. You could have just asked, you know." Sis shrugged. "I've got spares at home. I can probably get someone to ship me one." She eyed the track suit Ella was wearing, and then the one Cortianna had on. Following Ella's gaze, she raised an eyebrow at Talia's suit and then glanced again at the sulking teenager in the black track suit.

"Well, the weapons part won't be too difficult, at any rate. Don't use 'em. So how come he gets to carry one? 'Cause he's 'staff'?" She nodded over at Ian, who stood talking with Experiment 2.0.

Sis had a good idea how much damage even practice bokkens could inflict. Either Ian was smoother than she gave him credit for, or the staff were idiots. Given her run-ins so far today, she was leaning towards the latter. Any place that thought Sea Salt Scrubs were the solution to tension had to be slightly off-kilter.

"Oh, and Ella...I hate to bring this up again, but where's the gym?" Sis wanted to swing by and see about getting a practice room for later. As she spoke, she replaced the cap on her empty bottle of water and tossed it into the trash can. Taking a moment to tug off her gloves and shove them in her pocket, she reached behind her to grab another bottle. "Water?" she asked, offering it to Ella and Cortianna.

Ella nodded sheepishly to Sis. “I know…I’m sorry” Her mood and smile brightened when Sis said she’d get one for her. For a brief second it looked as Ella was about to jump Sis with a great big hug, but for no apparent reason Ella stopped herself.

“Thank you Sis that would be great”

[ QUOTE ]
’ So how come he gets to carry one? 'Cause he's 'staff'?"

[/ QUOTE ]

Ella shrugged. That was something she was meaning to investigate. It didn’t make sense to her either. “Maybe he is like security undercover or something” Ella’s eyes narrowed into a very evaluating stare as she looked over at Ian who was practicing his ‘pimp’ skills with Experiment. As soon as she turned back to Sis, the serious expression vanished and the girlish charms returned.

[ QUOTE ]
"Oh, and Ella...I hate to bring this up again, but where's the gym?"

[/ QUOTE ]

“Oh it’s sort of under the main building. Well you have to go thru the main building but actually, it’s off to the side, for structural and safety reasons. They didn’t build it directly under the main building.” Ella explained somewhat boredly. “Do you wanna go see it?” Ella’s asked somewhat excitedly but her words trailed off as she looked around the room.

“There are so many people to still meet. Maybe some of them will want to come too” Ella really wanted to talk in depth to Tallia, but this wasn’t the place for it the conversation Ella had in mind. Also her eyes flicked across to the girl in the wheelchair (Jasmine).

Ella wasn’t sure if she(Jasmine) was shy or feeling anti-social but it didn’t seem like she was making any effort to talk to anyone. Ella raised her hand slightly and gave a tentative wave ‘Hi’ in Jasmine’s direction.

Ella also wanted to go talk to Experiment, but didn’t feel like being around Ian anymore since he brushed her off.

Then there was the scary violent girl in the black track suit. She’d probably like to come to the gym, if only an excuse to get out of the room.

And Cort, Ella turned to see if Cortianna was still there “Is your hair naturally purple?” She wanted to reach out and touch it but restrained herself.

And where is Jaime? Ella did a quick check to see if Jaime was still there.

“Sis have you met that guy?” Ella (openly) pointed to Roger. “Or the girl in the wheelchair?” She nodded her head in Jasmine’s direction. “Or Tallia?” Ella looked at Tallia in the corner, she looked dejected and Ella made a pout.

“I think we should mingle more and see if anyone else wants to go, but I’d be glad to take you”

((Sorry this rambles a bunch, but there is, so many people now))

((I don't want to just jump up and move the party over to the gym just yet. There are a number of people that havent had a chance to interact yet. Once some more interaction(s) takes place, we can send a contigent to the gym, while others continue to chat, or we can have someother activites/interactions take place. Open to sugeestions for other activities/interactions))

((I am working on a seperate post, to bring in my own Spa guest, but I might not get them over to the meet and greet in their intro post, so I am putting the Ella post up now))

The sudden number of people talking to her caused Cort to take a half step back. The glowie at her wrist recorded an attempt to access her pyrokinetic abilities and surged enough to block the mostly unconscious grasping.

"Um... I'm good." She told Sis, holding up her still mostly full drink in a slightly shaking hand. "Thank you for asking." She added after a pause to remember what her councilor had said about 'manners and curtsies'.

"I guess my hair is naturally this color." She hesitantly replied to Ella, "I've not memories of it being anything else." For a second, her pale eyes hardened as she remembered her earlier memories.

Jaime, being the hyperactive, ADD-like creature she is, had snuck back to the snack table to look for more food. She kept an eye on the wild-looking girl sitting alone, not quite sure what to make of her.

((Sorry that it's kinda short. It's hard to come up with much with little interaction ^_^))

“Boominess? So you can invent machines and words. Your spectrum of talents continue to blind me,” Ian joked and prodded Experiment’s shoulder. “…but you should thank Jenny for making you come here because if I were fighting you, I’d go after that arm like there was no tomorrow. You’ll be at 100% in no time.”

Ian pouted comically. “Oh man. You’re no fun,” he groaned then started to break out in laughter again. “I think I will do your sister a favor, though, and try to keep you away from tech. Burning, hollering and ‘boominess’ might be a bit disturbing…(and destructive)…to the other guests.” The destructive part he said under his breath.

Ian’s ear burned at the mention of him near the table. With a glance in his cup, Ian pushed himself up from his chair. “Let’s go get something to drink. You can meet some of the other guests you’ll probably be hanging around with. I’m sure they’re dying to meet you.”

“I wish,” he sighed after he snuck back near the group and poured himself some more iced tea. “I can take care of any villains that attempt to invade the grounds….Experiment could back up my word too.” He looked back toward Experiment then back at the group. “Oh yes, I almost forgot my associate. This handsome fellow’s name is John but he sometimes goes by the alias Experiment 2.0 or Experiment. Maybe because he’s always shocking himself or blowing himself up to try different hairstyles.”

Inadvertently stepping behind Cortianna, Ian rested a hand on her shoulder. “So you have memory holes too? I have no idea what type of therapy the clinic has for that but maybe it’ll give you time to hang around with Ella. She suffers from the same problem.” He wanted to make her feel comfortable and accepted but didn’t want her to feel uncomfortable so he didn’t leave his hand on her shoulder for long.

((I was gonna type more but I just got home from work and kinda tired…))

Experiment chuckled, but it seemed to have a slight edge of embarresment in the tone. "Yeah, now would probably not be the best time to mention that I can't figure out how to get it off... He may actually attack me... And that's terrible."

He had to hold back a wave of chuckles to listen again.

He turned back to the other guests, and bowed (carefully), grinning widely again. "Experiment 2.0, technological extraordinare, and master of toaster-in-bathtub action! May I get your names, ladies?"

If you want to drag some more folks along, feel free.” Sis was slowly getting the feeling that most of the people in the room were here for the medical side of the house. While they might want to see the gym, they probably wouldn’t be able to use it. Which could still potentially leave her without a sparring partner. Given Ella and Ian’s comments, it sounded like sneaking in or off campus was not going to be an option. That, and she'd promised not to. She scowled to herself.

“Sure.” Sis noted that the purple-haired girl seemed anxious about something, as opposed to being irritated at being here. “Hey…you alright?” Sis moved away from the table a little, nearly bumping into the small blue woman. She felt a brief chill, but ignored it. “You look kinda spooked.”

Sis snickered quietly, and held out a bottle of water to Experiment. “Here…I’m Sis, this is Ella and Cortianna. Er…one sec.” She quickly cracked the seal on the bottle so Experiment would be able to open it with one hand. “Sorry ‘bout that,” she said, handing it over. “So how exactly did the toaster do you in?” she asked grinning, eyes glancing towards his cast. “I’m sure the story is epic.” She flicked her ponytail over her shoulder and crossed her arms over her chest. Mentally, she kicked herself for laying on the sarcasm. It was no way to make friends. Then again, she wasn’t going to be here that long. Still, she was representing her Super Group, in a manner of speaking. She’d have to be careful to not insult anyone too badly.
