Quandaries (discussion)

No right or wrong answers, these are for fun and discussion. Blue Side first, then Red Side. Answer some, all or none, as you like. If your answer is 'none of the above', please explain what it is and how it works.

Your main Hero...

1) Discovers that a teenager with no combat training and a few low-level powers is attempting to follow in their footsteps with a similar outfit and name.
1a: You give the kid the scare of a lifetime rather than let him get killed in your name.
1b: You throw a huge curve into your life and career to mentor the kid.
1c: It's a free country.

2) A villain confronts you in the middle of a large crowd of civilians.
2a: You try to defeat him so quickl he has no time to endanger anyone/
2b: You flee, attempting to draw him to a safe place to fight.
3c: You surrender rather than allow him to endanger innocents.

3) You are on patrol when you hear what sounds like a domestic disturbance from a nearby residence. Screams, crying children, physical combat.
1: You walk on. Can't stop for what might be a loud tv every time you go down the street.
2: You bust in. Better to be embarrassed than to allow an innocent to be hurt.
3: You spy in/sneak in. Security is more important than privacy.

Your main villain...

1) Has just gotten his hands on a live nuclear weapon. The problems are the fact that the weapon is literally in his hands, and a veritable horde of good guys are seconds from arriving and beating him down. Most importantly, no quick easy means of escape are available.
a) Hit the button. Who wants to live forever?
b) Use the bomb as a bluff/fight your way out. If it goes off, it's their fault.
c) Give it up. Next time, Gadget!

2) You arrive at your latest caper ready to obtain something useful to your purposes. But a hero and villain are already clashing over the goods!
1: Wait for the fight to wind down, then risk trying to eliminate them both. Might as well deal with two pains now than later.
2: Collect the McGuffin, and quietly escape. You can always deal with them later. Or not, whatever.
3: Try to team with one to eliminate the other. Why not make an ally while eliminating a future problem.

3) The Rikti offer you governorship of earth if you help them complete their master plan. Their plan seems likely to work with your help.
1: You warn the earth of the plan at the risk of your own life. Better to reign in Hell...
2: You sign up although it makes you a servant of the Rikti. You can always betray them later.
3: No deal. Your independence is more important than any easy power.

Have fun!

Main hero: Solid Shot

1. A: Let the kid get cornered by some Malta agents or something, then run in and shoot some head. Spend the next little while explaining to the kid that even he had to start out at the bottom and then introduce him to *insert beginning contact here*.

2. B: Shout some insults then take to the sky. Dodge as he shoots then start opening up with the heavy ordinance when the crowd disapates due to the gunfire.

3. C: Can't afford to pay for another door. -_-;;;

Main villain: Toy Dispenser

1. C: Rather lose the contract than risk losing his life and killing who-knows-how-many others.

2. C: Team up with the villain if the hero seems like a righteous [censored]. Team up with the hero if the villain seems like one of those crazy kill-em-all types.

3. A: .....[censored] Rikti. Great tech, bad people skills.

Statesman said let there be heroes, and there were heroes.

Lord Recluse said let there be villains, and there were villains.

NCsoft said let there be nothing, and there was nothing.

Your main villain...

1:

Lord Diov would hit the button. He seriously does not give a [censored] when that kinda thing happens.

My newest playable character *SPOILER* would hit the button as well. Not because he wants to, but because he's a bit of a pyromaniac.

2:

Lord Diov would fight both of them.

Why? Well, he's backed by an entire army, I remind you.

My newest character would use his STEALTH GENERATOR to not only steal the McGuffin, but plant a few trip mines as well.

3:

Lord Diov would take governership of Earth, then screw the Rikti over and rift the entire planet to a different dimension then laugh his [censored] off.

Your main Hero... (Iron Samurai)

1) Discovers that a teenager with no combat training and a few low-level powers is attempting to follow in their footsteps with a similar outfit and name.
1c: It's a free country.
(Hopefully he won't get in my way, like Buddy did to Mr. Incredible.)

2) A villain confronts you in the middle of a large crowd of civilians.
2a: You try to defeat him so quickly he has no time to endanger anyone.
(Running could be worse, what if instead of chasing me he takes the crowd hostage and starts killing them at random until I return to fight him?)

3) You are on patrol when you hear what sounds like a domestic disturbance from a nearby residence. Screams, crying children, physical combat.
3a: You walk on. Can't stop for what might be a loud tv every time you go down the street.
(Plus I'm a superhero. I'm too busy stopping some monster from rampaging through the city or madmen sabotaging the nuclear power plant. I may sound elitist, but stopping domestic disturbances is beneath me.)

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Your main villain... (Anna Nethema)

1) Has just gotten his hands on a live nuclear weapon. The problems are the fact that the weapon is literally in his hands, and a veritable horde of good guys are seconds from arriving and beating him down. Most importantly, no quick easy means of escape are available.
1c: Give it up. Next time, Gadget!
(It's a weapon of mass destruction with who knows how much range. Anna isn't into mass murder.)

2) You arrive at your latest caper ready to obtain something useful to your purposes. But a hero and villain are already clashing over the goods!
2b: Collect the McGuffin, and quietly escape. You can always deal with them later. Or not, whatever.
(Why work harder than you have to?)

3) The Rikti offer you governorship of earth if you help them complete their master plan. Their plan seems likely to work with your help.
3a: You warn the earth of the plan at the risk of your own life. Better to reign in Hell...
(She's still human for the most part and wouldn't betray her own species for wealth.)

Your main Hero...Mithril Zeta

1) Discovers that a teenager with no combat training and a few low-level powers is attempting to follow in their footsteps with a similar outfit and name.
1b: You throw a huge curve into your life and career to mentor the kid. – sigh. He’s a teacher. It’s what he does, even if it is a pain in the butt sometimes.

2) A villain confronts you in the middle of a large crowd of civilians.
2a: You try to defeat him so quick he has no time to endanger anyone – Taunt is an excellent skill to have.

3) You are on patrol when you hear what sounds like a domestic disturbance from a nearby residence. Screams, crying children, physical combat.
1: You walk on. Can't stop for what might be a loud tv every time you go down the street. – This one is really hard, but it’s probably true. Seeing is one thing, hearing is another.

Your main villain...Aqualos

1) Has just gotten his hands on a live nuclear weapon. The problems are the fact that the weapon is literally in his hands, and a veritable horde of good guys are seconds from arriving and beating him down. Most importantly, no quick easy means of escape are available.
c) Give it up. Next time, Gadget! Aqualos has no wish to destroy the world but to save it from those who would destroy it. He also thinks that he would be the best choice to rule it.

2) You arrive at your latest caper ready to obtain something useful to your purposes. But a hero and villain are already clashing over the goods!
1: Wait for the fight to wind down, then risk trying to eliminate them both. Might as well deal with two pains now than later.

3) The Rikti offer you governorship of earth if you help them complete their master plan. Their plan seems likely to work with your help.
2: You sign up although it makes you a servant of the Rikti. You can always betray them later. And he’d believes he’d do a good job of both ruling earth and betraying the Rikti.

Main Hero: Experiment 2.0

1) Discovers that a teenager with no combat training and a few low-level powers is attempting to follow in their footsteps with a similar outfit and name.

D) Sit him down and, first of all, ask him where he got the cool costume, and second of all, inform him that being a hero, even with super-human abilities, is amazingly dangerous, especially in the teenage years, with a few jokes put in as well.

2) A villain confronts you in the middle of a large crowd of civilians.

A) Try to defeat him quickly enough to avoid collateral damage. Experiment, while a joker, is still a hero. He will avoid hurting innocents in any way he can, even if it means having risk. He can be pretty fast if he wants to.

3) You are on patrol when you hear what sounds like a domestic disturbance from a nearby residence. Screams, crying children, physical combat.

B) Better to bust in and be embarrased than have an innocent hurt. Again, he is a hero. He does NOT consider himself a super hero, unable to stop for the lesser crimes due to the world-threatening crimes. Hell, if I am traveling through Atlas Park in-game and see a purse-snatching, I will stop it.

However, he will stop domestic violence ANY time, which is one of his weak points. Hell, he would stop fighting Messenger or Shimmer if he heard something like that. He swore to protect the innocent, and he will do it, dang it!

----------------------------------

Main Villain: Blind Messenger

1) Has just gotten his hands on a live nuclear weapon. The problems are the fact that the weapon is literally in his hands, and a veritable horde of good guys are seconds from arriving and beating him down. Most importantly, no quick easy means of escape are available.

D) Make it seem, in all appearances, that a hero stopped him just in time, and be arrested, only to be broken out moments later. He may be a villain, but he isn't a COMPLETE murderer. He won't murder innocent people for no reason.

2) You arrive at your latest caper ready to obtain something useful to your purposes. But a hero and villain are already clashing over the goods!

D) Send the Messenger-Clone in to begin taking the item, and then explode in a swirl of ripping darkness. After taking the item, absorb the souls of the annoyances.

3) The Rikti offer you governorship of earth if you help them complete their master plan. Their plan seems likely to work with your help.

A) Warn Earth of the plan, at risk of death. Honestly, he really isn't that bad of a guy, no matter how much he wants people to believe it. His attitude is disgusting, but he still has morals.

Hero: Randall Grey

1)A) Randy already feels bad about having most of his family and friends follow him to Paragon, and they have powers to back themselves up. The last thing he wants is someone who can't handle the situations thrown at him/her getting killed on his account. Especially since he knows people who ARE equipped to handle the situations who've nearly died from these experiences...

2)A) Randy's an angry, angry man. Bad guys who don't realize that he's also got a mean "curve ball" and likes to throw rocks, quickly find themselves on the wrong end of that boulder he chucked at them if they try to hurt someone who isn't in the fight. He hurts them extra slow when they try that stunt, too...

3) B) Police do this all the time. If a domestic disturbance is heard, and reported to the police, they HAVE to investigate. Same goes if they're jsut passing through. As a hero, you have the same responsibility. You don't have to embarass yourself and others, though. You knock on the door and try to speak with the residents.

Villain: Power Breaker

1) D) None of the Above. Power Breaker isn't a 2-D villain. He also isn't a common thug Brute. He virtually has a computer network running through his veins, and can pull up a diagnostic on how to disarm the bomb so as to neutralize the threat of it. He understands that such power is dangerous, and would never dream of seeking such a weapon out, though.

2)C) Power Breaker doesn't like the Rogue Isles. He'll do whatever he can to get the Hell out of there, even if that means helping a 2-D Hero. 2-D Heroes are the worst. They're the types of heroes that believe everybody in the Rogue Isles are sick, twisted, perverted freaks, and while, yes, many of them are, one must remember the falsehood of generalizations. However, 2-D villains are much worse. They ARE the sick, twisted, perverted, and VIOLENT freaks that 2-D Heroes love to stomp. If it's a choice between teh two, Power Breaker would choose the hero over the villain any day. Especially since it brings him one step closer to home.

3)A&C, and maybe a little D) The Rikti are divided. Those that want to either go home or try to make peace on one side, and those that are so ticked off at being beaten, they're blinded by hate. So it's likely that even if you agreed to the plan, you're likely to get assassinated by the other side to further their cause. Besides, if the plan involves you, likely it also involves you dying. Power Breaker has no love for the Rikti. He'd die before he risked killing what small family he has left. So, I guess some of the D is start whomping Rikti butt...

Your main Hero... Krimsin Hawk

1) Discovers that a teenager with no combat training and a few low-level powers is attempting to follow in their footsteps with a similar outfit and name.

1d: Talk to the kid and try to convince them to get some training and be their own person. Thank them for the flattery, but encourage them to be their own person. Suggest after they get some training that they could be offered a spot in the SG if they really want to be a hero.

2) A villain confronts you in the middle of a large crowd of civilians.

2c: You surrender rather than allow him to endanger innocents.

2a offers too much of a chance of a civilian getting hurt by either the villain or collateral damage from the fight, and 2b could give the villain a wealth of hostages to use against her. She may do 2a if she can knock down the villain and give the civilians time to flee, but otherwise she would sacrifice herself to help others... she does that already everyday when she puts on the costume.

3) You are on patrol when you hear what sounds like a domestic disturbance from a nearby residence. Screams, crying children, physical combat.

3d: Contact the PPD to check out the disturbance, but stick around to make sure that everything is okay. If she actually sees any abuse through a window, then she would bust in and stop it if only to stand between the parties involved.

Your main villain... Ember Hawk (Krim's Praetorian)

1) Has just gotten her hands on a live nuclear weapon. The problems are the fact that the weapon is literally in her hands, and a veritable horde of good guys are seconds from arriving and beating her down. Most importantly, no quick easy means of escape are available.

c) Give it up. She can't have fun and enjoy her pleasurable desires if she's dead, so option (a) is out. She's not much of a bluffer, not in large groups that is, so that negates option (b). If she can give it up and get out of there quickly afterwards, that's what she'd do.

2) You arrive at your latest caper ready to obtain something useful to your purposes. But a hero and villain are already clashing over the goods!

d) She'd try to decide which option (a, b or c) would be the most fun at the moment... or she'd use her sensuality to trick one or the other to "save/help" her, then have her Stalker lover nail an AS on the distracted hero/villain and Ember would take her new toy.

3) The Rikti offer you governorship of earth if you help them complete their master plan. Their plan seems likely to work with your help.

d: She'd agree, but once she got bored with the governorship thing, she'd betray the Rikti to the resistance and find a way to go to another dimension and have more fun during the ensuing bloodshed with her Stalker lover. Although getting bored would take a while with all of the male and female servants she'd want catering to her every whim.

Main hero: Billyboy

1b) Billyboy has already done this very thing with his mousy female sidekick, Tomboy. Their combined fighting styles of Raz Mataz and Pizaz can’t be beat. Tomboy isn’t as strong, at least not yet, but Billyboy keeps up his lessons and helps out at any time he can.

2a) Depends who it is, really, but the most common villain for Billyboy to face is Dr. Phillis, who never hurts the innocent on purpose for any reason, no matter what. Aware of this, Billyboy would use it to his advantage and make one big, messy fight in front of a large crowd. In the case of another foe, hell, there’s still a big crowd, and Billyboy’s a tanker. Not like he’s going to try to dodge anything, he’ll take it all while the civvies watch in awe.

3b) Assured of his absolute ability to be right at all times, Billyboy would make his usual flashy entrance. If it ended up being nothing, he’d probably scold them for noise pollution, remind them that the only excuse for such a thing was rock and roll, and be off into the night.

Main villain: Dr. Phillis

1c) If the device had a chance of going off, there’s no way the Doc is going to take the risk to get himself and everyone within several miles killed. There’s a million different places to get other nuclear devices anyway. He could probably make something better anyway.

2b) If there’s another idiot in there already distracting the hero, I’ll send him a gift basket later. Grab the gadget, get out, and run like the wind before they notice. If they come after me, I’ll kill them, but this way I won’t sully my hands.

3c) Dr. Phillis hates the rikti with every fiber in his body. They ruined his hero, city, and his life. There’s no chance in hell that he would ever negotiate with them after what they’ve done, and he doesn’t desire to rule through tyranny anyway. Especially as a servant.

Main Hero

1) B...I'd at least try to mentor the kid. If it worked out then I've got (likely much-needed) help. If not, we can always choose another option.

2) B As a Hero (well, my Main hero anyway) safety of the population comes before my own honor. Try to lead him away and then drag him back unconscious later.

3) C While the safety of the civilians is paramount no sense in walking into something like a loud tv covering someone fooling around on the couch and looking like an idiot.

Main Villain

1) B Can't give up and just go boom but can't surrender either. Gotta at least TRY to get away.

2) C Future allies can serve their purposes.

3) A No offense but even if they win what if they want to strip mine my new little kingdom down to bedrock next year? Forget it...ya gotta have something to steal right? If they wreck it all then where's the fun?

Interesting survey btw...Very fun.

Your main Hero... Khavzhutch ev-Chezgh

1) Discovers that a teenager with no combat training and a few low-level powers is attempting to follow in their footsteps with a similar outfit and name.

Let the kid do what he wants. Assuming, of course, that any human being would try to imitate an 8-foot tall black-skinned red-veined hooved spiky creature from an entirely different universe.

2) A villain confronts you in the middle of a large crowd of civilians.

Attack immediately, and try hard to avoid any collateral damage. It's not worth spending the time trying to come up with a better plan here.

3) You are on patrol when you hear what sounds like a domestic disturbance from a nearby residence. Screams, crying children, physical combat.

Continue with the patrol, I've been assigned a job and I'm not going to interrupt it. As a hero in Paragon City you learn pretty fast that if you try to stop every crime you notice then you'll never have time for anything else. Also, doing well on the patrol would probably improve my reputation more than resolving a domestic dispute, and reputation is important to me because the more people that know about me, the more likely one of them can help me get back to my home, where there's a genocide going on. As bad as physical abuse is, I'm not as worried about that as I am about the elimination of my entire species.

Your main villain... the Perfect Sage

1) Has just gotten his hands on a live nuclear weapon. The problems are the fact that the weapon is literally in his hands, and a veritable horde of good guys are seconds from arriving and beating him down. Most importantly, no quick easy means of escape are available.

Try to bluff my way out, but if I can't manage that then just surrender. Trying to fight a horde of enemies would just make things more unpleasant for all of us.

2) You arrive at your latest caper ready to obtain something useful to your purposes. But a hero and villain are already clashing over the goods!

Try to grab the item and run while the hero and villain are fighting. If I can't manage that, then the next best thing would be to wait until one of them is eliminated, and then take out the other one if I think I can manage it.

3) The Rikti offer you governorship of earth if you help them complete their master plan. Their plan seems likely to work with your help.

Depends how much I can learn from the Rikti. Knowledge is more important than anything else. I'm a wizard and I don't think the Rikti know any magic, so I would rather work against them in favor of the human race.
