How to: Trenchcoat tail interior color
Yeah, I found this out the frustratingly hard way. I wanted a pure black trenchcoat, so one with a powder-blue interior is a lot less threatening.

Dude...you just said the exact same thing the OP said. Except with a lot less detail, and poor grammar.
By the way, it's "voila" not "woala."

I always thought it was "koala". Or were we not talking about australian arborial marsupials?
Addendum:
When you -uncheck- the copy colors across costume option, do not be on the Trenchcoat interior option. That will reset the colors back to the original.
Just select another option once you have your colors chosen, then set the rest of the costume colors to what you want.

Thanks for this! You've solved my one frustration (so far) with new I8 perks. A white trench with a black lining looks so baaaaad! (as is awful) ;-)

Another way to fix the trenchcoat tail's interior if you can wear a cape is to do the following:
1)switch to a costume top that is compatible with capes
2)change the interior color of the cape.
3)Switch back to trenchcoats and the interior tail is fixed.
This is easier than losing all of your color information.

"Reset" buttons pretty much alleviate the trouble of losing your color information.
this is good to know. my black trenchcoat with a white tail just doesn't look good. could be worse i guess. like hot pink or something. whew!
I posted this in the Test Server Board.
You can use copy color to all when you have the trenchcoat on just change to another costume piece before deselecting change color to all. No need to reset the game.
Cool, thanks to everyone who added additional info to make this easier. Glad it's helping.
This is a guide to making your trenchcoat tail interior any color that you want.
I stumbled across the solution purely by accident, and I'm not sure if anyone else has posted it, so I will try to explain. The key is this: the color must be set before the trenchcoat is initialized.
First: this will only work on a costume that does *not* already have a trenchcoat, and it will only work if you have not already used the costume editor with a trenchcoat in your current game session. If you have, change to a non-trenchcoat costume, close the game and restart. This will reset the costume editor.
Now, with a fresh start in the editor on a non-trenchcoat costume: select the 'Copy Current Colors Across Entire Body' option. Then for both costume color options, select the color that you want on the interior of your trenchcoat tail. Then (and only then) give yourself a trenchcoat. The trenchcoat will be forced to initialize with the color you chose. Now you can unselect the 'Copy Current Colors Across Entire Body', go back and fix the colors on the rest of your costume.
If you already have a trenchcoat: go to the tailor and edit your costume. Remove the trenchcoat. Close the game, and restart it, then follow the instructions above. I haven't tested this part, but it should work.
