Ive been looking at a few different tablets, and Ive decided once I buy one Im going with the Wacom Intuos3.

The thing is what size should I got with? I was thinking 6x8, but the 9x12 is looking nice too.

Any input on this is muchly appreciated.

Yeah, I'm just learning to draw with a computer so a fancy tablet can wait until I learn to fancy draw.

At the momment I'm using a $78 6"x4.5" DSE Tablet (local New Zealand generic brand) and practicing in Photoshop and Manga Studio 3.0 EX.

I like sketching, but the hard part comes from translating the doodles into digital godliness.

Yeah I think I would have been better off with a bigger tablet, but right now the 4x5 is working for me. It fits on my lap at work so I can hide it easier. Also fits snugly in my laptop bag so I can lug it around very easy (there's no laptop in the bag, i just like the bag for hauling around miscellaney and still look kinda techie ).

But yeah the 6x8 would seem like a good size.

After using a 4x6 wacom...

I would like to have the 9x12.

I'm also waiting to see how much money I have to see if I can afford the 15' Cintiqe... but, I'll probably realize that I need that extra money for other things like bills and stick with the 9x12 Intuos.

I use a Wacom graphire 6X8 tablet. I started with the 4X6, which wasn't bad at all, but having the extra room is definitely nice

I've had an Intuous 9x12 for over five years now. It's fantastic, but just a wee bit big. I bought the 9x12 because that was the size of my sketchbooks at the time; but the tablet is considerably larger surface wise, than 9x12. So it never fit into my backpack. I used a 4x5 Graphire in a Mac lab for several years at college, and it was nice, but a wee bit small. When I upgrade I'm going for an Intuous3 6x8.

I use a Wacom 4X6 tablet....when I use one. Most of the coloring I do is greyscale because of the period I like (pulp-ish). You can see what I mean here.

I use a 6" x 8".

I've used larger and they require too much arm motion. Don't be fooled by size.

Bigger is not always better but I like to have the extra room for the teeny tiny details.

Every time I read this thread name, my perverted mind kicks into action and it reads to me "What is your size?" Xp

You can keep all that information to yourself. I don't wanna know how many people you PM'd about what size they are.
