(OOC: No, this is like the 101 RPs, YOU guys make everything except the geography of the school, the High Master, and the rules of the school. Obviously 'random student' NPCs already present will be common, but I honestly can't keep track of 5 characters of my own running two different schools )
When the boy offered her his food, Yuri was about to take it until Reishi began talking about growing your own food. Thats okay, I think Ill be fine for now, Yuri said, declining Gerdens offer of food.
Yuri sat down in silence, listening to everyones story and waiting for something to happen. Wow, maybe I could have taken a few hours to nap in that cave three days ago...I probably would have still made it here with time to spare.

"Well, I was in the Amazon, on the trail of some 5th Column wacko leader when..." Wack Jack stopped. "Why am I telling you this again? What do I teach? I teach many things. I mostly focus on extremely quick reflexes, and powerful counterattacks that will weaken an opponeent."
Light Strike simled. "IF money is an issue, I wouldn't have a problem donating some funds to ya. I've had my problems myself...."
"Glad to see you will be joining us again, Miss Tenryuu," a rumbling voice came from no where. A tall, lean man appeared with a crack like thunder, a bamboo staff making small cracks in the earth. "Morning Mr. Hotaka I see we have the beginnings of a faculty meeting in the making," the mysterious man joked. His name was Xander Fang or as he was known in the school, The Tumultuous Gate. He rested the staff against himself as he seemed to lean aganist it.
"Good morning sir." Wack Jack smiled as he pulled out his flask and drank out of it. He returned it to his tool belt.
"Ahhhh. Nice mountain air up here eh?"
Reishi grinned, "Hey Xan, hope those bruises I gave you healed by now."
"They sure have," Xander grinned, "Not to sayI did not deserve them. How long did you have that knot on your head?"
He turned towards Jack, "And yes the air up here is truly refreshing."
"Oh yes, I quite agree." Hokata replied to Xander, "I have to say, it's uplifting to see you alive and well."
...though Xander apparently still mixed japanese names front and back. He'd done it correctly with Reishi, but once again he'd called him 'Mr. Hotaka' instead of the proper 'Mr, Ryuu' or just 'Hotaka'.
He decided not to make anything of it, though. There was far too much of interest going on right now - not the least of which was the sound of a large gong that ended the tolling of the bells.
And now the master of the respective schhool would come from each gate, across the rope bridges leading into the mist, where the gates were hidden.
Across the left bridge walked an unassuming-looking man, his age clearly marked by the long white beard that trailed down almost to the waist of his robes, which draped over the ground in such a manner it looked like he hovered.
The robes were cut simply, but finely, creating a perfect blend of cobalt blue and pure while, the identifying colors of the Tempest. Even his small, rounded glasses, completely covering the eyes of his bald head, had the same tint to them, and his rigid white beard and moustache, hanging down like long strands of perfectly aligned clouds, only complemented this picture.
His arms foled into one another in front of him, the master of the Tempest school carried an air of aloofness, but reachability at the same time.
Finally, he reached the end of his bridge, taking a quick bow before starting to speak.
"It pleases me to see such an array of potential." he began, "It dismays me that I may have to send you away by day's end. I warn you now, the Tempest is not for the weak. If you still choose the Path of Strength, you wil refer to me as Sensei, and nothing else, until you have earned the prvilege to adress me by name."
He paused, waiting for his 'colleague' from the Mountain school to make his proclamation before continuing. It was tradition - every ten years...

((Both my hooded guy and Light Strike are gonna attend both schools. Shouild I go to one school first and then go to the other or what?))
(OOC: You have to pick one or the other then transfer over to the other later)
"About 10.3 seconds, Xan. Not bad, usually takes me 7 to heal," Reishi replied.
(OOC: Sorry but i'm gonna have to hijack the Tempest master for just one line)
"Mistress Tenryuu, I expect you to keep the damage to a minimum this time. Your battle with Master Ankara still has scars on the temple grounds," the Master said.
Jack took in the scenery.
Back when he had first become a hero, all he could smell was the undying stench of smog and pollution in Kings Row. Since then, he had been sent to all manner of rotten places.
"This will be an interesting visit...."
He was prepared to grow his own food, to live with nature. He was ready to work hard and not complain.
But was he ready for some smart mouthed ninjas? This he pondered as he leaned against a rock and drank out of his flask.
Following the old man was a middle-aged man with traditional martial arts robes on. His face jovial and welcoming, he nodded to the assembled group. Emblazoned on the chest of his gi was a red falcon's head. He had tanned skin, and thinning dark hair.
"Well, I see we have a somewhat paltry group this year. And all so young. Normally the group is thrice your size and twice your age, at least. Let's hope that the quality of the entrants has increased to match..." His eyes glimmered as he looked upon Reishi, "And I see one of the old group has come back... So, Miss Tenryuu, back to show our students a thing or two? Or could you just not resist causing some more property damage here, at our Temples?" He then looked surprised. "Oh, dear. How rude of me. I seem to have forgotten to introduce myself. I'm Halven Salwar, Master of the Mountain School, but those of you who join my school must call me Halven-sensei."
--------------
Gerden looked with vindication at the red falcon emblazoned upon the Mountain Master's gi. So there is a Raptor School master in the Temples!, he thought. He bowed respectfully to both Masters and said, "I am Gerden Darman, of the Raptor School. I seek entrance into the Tempest School."
---------------
Megumi was surprised at the validation of the rumors. She had always assumed that the rumors that one of the Raptor School entrants was teaching at the Temples was an empty boast of the school, an attempt to increase its standing among the millions of other martial arts schools in the world. Also bowing respectfully, she introduced herself. "I am Megumi Hakaroo of the Raptor School. I seek entrance into the Mountain School."
Edit: *Waves arm* There is no plothole...
(OOC: Wait we have TWO Xanders now?)
OOC: Uh, whoops. Forgot that the other guy had that name already... Thought he had something more Chinese-sounding. Just make my guy Halven, then.
((Confused me to no end for a moment there too. ))
"Ah yes," the Tempest Master added to his Mountain colleague, "we would all appreciate that, Ms. Tenryuu. And we'll have none of it from you either, Mr. Ryuu."
Hotaka cackled for a moment, smiling back innocently, "Who, me? Oh come now, Taka, I'm not that bad...it was really more circumstantial than anything...besides, the tower needed remodeling anyway, and...oh, alright, I'll behave."
The Master smiled knowingly, then continued to both Reishi and Hotaka, "Since both of you have been off journeying, I hope your wisom has grown with your steps. Oh, and Hotaka, where are the other instructors you told me would be coming?"
"Around." Ryuu shrugged in reply, "I thought it best if they didn't arrive until later. Waziri still has his little spazoid problem, and I didn't want to risk a few trees being turned into toothpicks when anyone so much as hints at chopping things up."
"Ah yes, the Crazy One you have told me of. You are probably the only one I know of who would teach such as him."
"It's in my nature." Hotaka shrugged once more, "Can't go against that."
"Yes, I suppose." the Master sighed, stepping off the narrow bridge to free the way, then turned to the potantial students once more.
He gestued at the rope bridge with one hand, "This is the path to Strength. It is harsh, unforgiving, and sometimes cruel. It is not for the faint of heart, and it may very well destroy you in more than one way."
In age-old tradition, after the Mountain Master had freed his path, they would utter together, "Time to choose..."

Fang Yin looked carefully at the two masters, seeming to be at an impasse as to which path to take. Turning back to Reishi, the boy bowed casually.
"I'm afraid I am unsure which school to choose," he said, sounding a little perplexed. "I admit that both hold interest for me, but I realize that I must master one before considering the other. You said before you may be able to aid my decision. After seeing what skills I have, can you give me any advice on which path I should begin with?"
Reishi scratched her head, "It's not just about skills, kiddo, it's about personality. My advice would be the Mountain school. I tackled the Tempest school first myself, but that was in a very literal sense. My first training job as a member of the Mountain school was to personally fix all the damage I did to the Tempest school.
"So for you I'd advise the Mountain school, it just fits ya better I think," she finished.
Jake just smirked as he walked to the base of the rope bridge.
"I am Jake Millions, I learned all I know on the streets. I want into Tempest, I can learn defence and that stuff anywhere, I need raw power to beat down the punks in Paragon."

Yuri stood and bowed to the masters then to the master of the Earth temple. I am Jing Lei of the Ling Hun Shou style and I choose the school of the Mountain, Halven-sensei. Her mind had been made up before she even set off on her journey. When you can do what she can do, using offense to overwhelm your opponent was unnecessary.

"Thank you Master Reishi," Yin smiled. "I will take your advice." His smile turned to a concerned frown at Mr. Millions comment however. To so easily dismiss an important aspect of combat so carelessly was most foolish. Defense, like any skill, was an artform that should be respected as much as the offensive. Still, given his age, Yin was reluctant to try and give any grown-up advice.
Jake just smirks at Yin's frown,
"Chill shortstack, just sayin I already have a foundation on defence, I came here to get stronger, not learn to block better.

Yin was still not convinced. It still seemed to be too narrow a focus to him, but as stated before, he did not feel qualified to impart lessons to his peers.
Walking over, Yin bowed respectfully to both Masters before moving to stand near the other Mountain students.
Jake just smiled at the crowd at Mountain temple, about to make a smart remark before he remembered the "no weapons not made of temple wood or bamboo" rule.
He opened his jacket idely, pulling out a lead pipe and set of brass knuckles before tossing them over the side of the bridge. "Hope the Bamboo here is nice and sturdy, me bein without a hold-out weapon makes me uneasy."

(OOC: I don't see any mention of the master. Teachers are different from masters, the masters are like administrative staff while the teachers are...well...teachers)
