The Twin Temples (Open RP)
"Hmmm, never woulda guessed." Light Strike smiled. "Well unless all of you are gonna meditate, what brings ya'll here?"

(OOC: Go ahead by all means! I've been waiting for more teacher submissions for quite a while...)
(OOC: And feed it to her how? She was unconscious!)
The girl spluttered awake as the herbs entered her mouth. Too soon, in fact, for them to have actually started working. She must have been semi-conscious, and the taste woke her up.
"Uh... Herbs, I think... We didn't know how bad off you were so we tried some medical herbs," Gerden stammered. "Seems like you're healthier than you looked..." At that, he raced over to his backpack and sifted through it at super-speed, various objects flying everywhere, but almost coincidentally, it seemed, not hitting anyone. After about a second, Gerden was back over at the girl, holding out a package wrapped in tinfoil, with some bread and cheese poking out.
"Here, take it," he said, concern obvious in his expression. "It was gonna be my dinner, but you need it more." Seeing her hesitation, he said, "Oh, go on, take it! It's not like its poisoned or anything, and we can't have you passing out again!"
"Pulverized dragon scales in vinegar." Hotaka grined, "I hear the vinegar does nothing, but I'd find it hard to drink a powder. Not to mention that it adds a bit of flavor."
He turned to the one making all the Star Wars references, then back to Yuri, "And yes, the Movie Watcher is right, you're better off not knowing where I get it from."
Stretching his back, Hokata stood up again, suddnly relaizing he'd dropped his walking stick and wasn't hunched over anymore...ah well, not like the 'old man' thing probably fooled anyone anyway.
"Actually, the Movie Watchers bring up just the right question. I'd be very interested as to what brings everyone here..."

((K here goes.))
Out of the shrubs and trees came the newest teacher to join the Mountain Shool.
"Sup guys."
The teacher wore a leather jacket, white t-shirt, and black pants.
"So, you are the students I take it? Name's Wack Jack, and I'll be one of the teachers over on Mountain School. Don't ask about my name.
The hooded figure smiled again.
"If I told you, I'd have to kill you. No, I can't tell you or the people I used to work for would find me. Other than that, I can't say anything."
Light Strike perked up. "I'm here, mostly because my old master says that quote 'you really suck."
"Well," Gerden began, "I'm a student of the Raptor School, who have been sending their most promising student to these Temples every time they open their doors. But this year, it seems," and at this, he gave a pointed look to the girl sitting on a rock nearby, affecting disinterest in the proceedings, " that the school has decided to send two students... Oh, and by the way, do you know if there's any truth to the rumor that one of the Raptor School students who was sent here teaches at the Temple now?"
(OOC: If necessary, I'll make my third a teacher, but I'd prefer not to. Just in case, I'm leaving the door open. Or it might give someone else an idea for a teacher...)
"To be honest, I just got here. I was asked to teach since I knew one of the old masters here. All I know is this, the best way to win a fight, is not to get hit. That, and cream the other guy, but I'm Mountain School teacher not Tempest." He chuckled.
"Freaking ninja stuff..."
((Im sure the smell of food would have wakened her....I know it works for me when Im starving.))
Yuri quickly ripped away the foil and tore into the bread and cheese with a vengeance. It only took her a few seconds to devour the little food offered. She then looked back up at Gerden, as if asking if there was any more. Thank you, she said with a weak smile and crumbs on her cheek. If there was a fight that she needed to get past, she would have the energy to face it but not at her fullest.
When Hotaka asked their reasons for coming, Yuri pulled herself up by Light Strikes hand. I have come because my spirit draws me here. I have pertained the memories from a past life and something has told me this is where I need to be. My teacher helped me as best he could but without money or direction, I was lucky to get here at all.

Reishi vaguely remember seeing this guy before. Of course, she had left six years ago, and stuff happens in six years...such as puberty.
"What, exactly, do you teach?" she asked.
Gerden looked back over at the Chinese girl when she thanked him for the food. She still looked hungry, and, at that moment her stomach growled. Sighing, Gerden opened up a larger box he had been keeping in his pack. It had enough food for a few more meals in it. "Eat as much as you want. I got here faster than I thought, and I'm sure there's food in the temple."
At that point, Megumi stood up and spoke her piece. "As you heard from Gerden, I'm the other Raptor School entrant. Normally there's only one, but it was a close match, and my parents have some influence in the school. My mother was actually the last Raptor School student."
Edit: Fixing plotholes...
"Hope ya guys know you'll be expected to grow yer own food in the temple..." Reishi said, trailing off as a loud bell could be heard from the other side of the gate.
(OOC: The two masters of the Tempest and Earth schools are going to walk through the door. Anyone want to control them?)
"Grow? Does that mean there's no meat?" Gerden asked, looking a bit unsettled at the prospect. "I didn't know this was gonna be a vegetarian place..." He cut off as the bells began and the gate opened.
At the sound of the bells, Megumi jumped. She had been paying attention to the other people around the clearing, especially the three older ones. Both of them were more powerful than anyone else here, except that thirteen-year-old who had beaten down the de... satyr. Any one of those could take on the entire group of students, and the girl might be able to do it with a handicap. This worries me, she thought. So many people with such great power gathered in one place...
(OOC: Uh, Kagura hasn't fought anyone other than Yin, Reishi's 19-20)
((I can take Tempest if you like.))

"Oh, you shouldn't have said that." Hotaka grinned, "Now I'm forced to. How'd you come by your name?"

The hooded figure smiled again.

"We'll see." Hotaka replied ominously, smiling with a menacing visage, "The Headmaster will want to know such things."

Light Strike perked up. "I'm here, mostly because my old master says that quote 'you really suck."

"Oh my." Hotak shook his head, "Tsk tsk, that's such a terrible thing of your master to say to a student about yourself. Then again, I suppose we'll find out if you've got any skill in you at all at the entrance exam, that is."

"Raptor School." Hotaka huffed, eyes narrowing, though it was hard to see because of the obstructing coolie, "Sheesh, just hearing that makes me cringe. If I had a nickel for everyone and everything naming itself 'Raptor-something-or-other' just because they think it sounds tough, I'd...well, I'd be very rich indeed."
"And I'm not one for current events right now either." he continued, "Just got back from my little journey around the world. Paragon city and the so-called Rogue Isles were most interesting. Freedom Corps even assigned me the moinker 'Dragon of Decay', though I can't imagine why. Go figure with those nutcases."
Hotaka sighed, looking into the misty gorge as the bells tolled, "I have to say, this modern world does have its impressions, but sometimes I do miss the old eras of Meiji and such. Ah well, time goes on now, doesn't it? But we've kept a few things around, such as growing your own food - and don't worry, there's meat...so long as you catch it and gut it yourself..."

"'Grown yer own food' has a lotta meanin y'know...cows, pigs, sheep, chickens, and ducks grow up y'know," Reishi added, "You just need to either know how to raise 'em and all that stuff yourself, or you need to know how to raise somethin' someone who knows how to raise the critter you like doesn't know how to raise. For instance, I know how to raise pigs, and some guy I knew could grow corn, so we would trade."

OOC: Whoops. Age confusion... I thought Kagura was the older one, because of when you said your character was gonna be a nine-year-old... Or did I mis-interpret that, too? Oh, and I'll take Mountain, if no one else will.
IC: Gerden looked slightly relieved, but said nothing. Instead, he turned to the cloaked man and said, "The Raptor School isn't named that 'because it sounds tough.' The school is all about aerial maneuvers and attacks. Through chi manipulation, students of the Raptor School can even fly short distances. So, you see, there's actually a reason behind the name..." Then Gerden considered the cloaked man's last comment. "And exactly how old are you, anyway?"
OOC: I actually chose the name from a D&D feat that is a bunch of aerial moves put together.
------------------------
Megumi's attention was now almost comletely on the gates. Unlike the others, she intended to keep out of pointless arguments, at least until after she got into the Temples. She was surprised by the statement the cloaked man made, indicating that he was much older than... well, almost anyone. Human beings didn't live that long, so there was almost no possibility of anyone living being from the Meiji era, especially one in such good of physical shape as the cloaked man. Maybe he's a mutant, too? Or do they teach life-extension techniques here? These thoughts were meaningless for now, especially without answers forthcoming. She would find out, in time. For now, there was only the wait until the gates of the Temples opened themselves.
(OOC: Reishi was 9 years old when she entered the temple the FIRST time, she's 19 now. I don't care what you say there's no way a 9 year old could have a body like Reishi's
Kagura's 13)
OOC: I mist not have been paying attention to that part of her description...
Edit: And by "mist" I mean "must." Damn typos...
((Alright, so we have someone for Mountain too. Good. I figured if I took both, there would be a conflict there.
))
((And Hokata isn't hooded, he's wearing a martial arts robe and a large bamboo coolie. The only odd thing about him right now is that his eyes have no pupils.))
"Eh, that's what they always say." Hotaka egged Gerden on, "But I guess aerial combat is akin of the old boneheads. Hm, how old am I? Ooooh...that's a tough one. I really couldn't tell you - you start to lose count after a few centuries, you know..."

Jake grunted as he woke from his meditation.
"Wha, oh a teacher at last? Neat name, there was a dude named Slap Jack in the Hellions I ran with a while ago, you know him?"
"Anyway, my name's Jake Q. Millions, the 'Q' is for badass. I don't know any martail arts other the street brawling. I use my hooves for kick boxing and when I get pissed I can tap into my ki pretty well. I don't have a lot to say to people I don't know other then I'm a SATYR not a damn demon."
