The Twin Temples (Open RP)
Jing Lei was walking, carrying her belongings in a sack on her back. As she walked, her face was scowled in anger. Her lose fitting sleeveless robes dangled on her thin frame, mainly because she was always a thin little tomboy and partially because she used most of her money on a boat trip from china and a bus ticket to get her as close to the area where the Twin Temples would appear((By the way, where is this temple anyway? I just assumed it was some alternate diminsion close by, but not in, Paragon City)). The little food she did bring was lost in the sea by accident so she decided not to eat on her trip, which was nearly three weeks long(17 days actually), and use what little money her teacher had to get to her destination. Jing Lei would have stopped to rest but she knew she would be late if she did so walked non-stop for the last 6 days.
She was exhausted and the only thing that kept her going was thinking about a boy she trained with a few years ago, a boy that could never defeat her with his fist, feet, sword or tricks and sorely jealous of her skill; Ian Kelly. That stupid rich punk....Ill show him whos the best....he can shove his dumb money and his yacht.....I dont need....stupid charity....
A few days before she would set off for the school, Ian offered to help her get to where she needed(he wasnt holding a grudge from the years before but Yuri(thats what Ian calls Jing Lei) did). Dont forget to teach me the stuff you learn he says.....screw him....youre not getting a lick of knowledge from me... Im too tired....I have to stop... Yuri thought as she collapsed to the ground on her back, her long black hair that was tied behind her sprawled in the dirt. ....what would he say if he knew I gave up.....I have to.... Is the last thing Yuri thought before falling into slumber only a few feet away from the group gathered to enter the Twin Temples, behind a bit of brush.
((Ill stick with the AT template but Ill make new powers. Why? Because theres not enough powers in CoH. Jing Lei is a defender with, instead of a blast secondary, a martial arts secondary. As her primary, an art style Ill call Ling Hun Shou or Soul Hand.))

Jake just grumbles "Fine, but this isn't over, I'm gonna whoop you before these temples go back to where ever." As his eyes go back to normal, he mutters in Japanese as he turns "Lucky I didn't show ya what dad taught me."

(OOC: The temple is on Earth, but the gates appear separately and function like wormholes. Thus no one knows where the temple ACTUALLY is, and why leaving the conventional way means you can't get back.)

"\I heard that\," Reishi replied in Japanese, Kansai dialect specifically, "\With more training maybe you can unseat one of the masters, til then I'd advise not bein' so cocky.\"
Jake just sat on his old rock, meditating and healing the wounds he got, only muttering back in Japanese.
"I'm taking that as a goal"

Hearing a small crash in the bushes on the other side of the clearing, Gerden suddenly burst into action. A split-second later, he was across the clearing, even though he went around the side to avoid bumping into anyone. A slight brush at the speed he was moving could easily break bones, and even the Reishi girl was vulnerable when not channeling her chi. About a second later, he had completed his search, finding a slight Chinese girl in the brush. Hefting her onto his shoulder, he marveled at how light she was. I'm not particularly strong, but I think I could carry her with one arm, he thought. She must not be eating well. I wonder if she's trying to become a student here, too...
"No..." she mumbled as he picked her up, and Gerden realized she was still semi-conscious. "I'll make it by myself..."
"And what good does it do you if you die before achieving your goal? Huh?" Gerden wasn't sure if she could even hear or understand him, but he still felt the need to say it.
"Hey, guys, there's someone over here!" he shouted, and started moving back towards the group, carrying the girl.
Jake smirked, his humor coming back to him as the last of his wounds healed.
Suddenly he turned back to Rei "oh yea, name's Jake Q Millions, the 'Q' is for [censored], what's your name?"

((Hm...for some reason I had the idea in my head that we were all standing on a mountain amidst many othrers, covered in lush green grass and shrubbery, and a few colections of trees here and there, overlooking a casm filled with white mist over which two rope bridges stretched - you know, those old, creaky wooden ones. One leads to the Tempest, the other to the Mountain gateway, which I had imagined as ornate arch gates hidden in the mist, like the ones used at the Forbidden City.))
The 'old man' stopped cackling at the "stereotypical ninjas", turning about to eye what Gerden was brining.
"Hm." he remarked, "My my, and what have we here?...One of those never-stops-traveling types, by the looks of it..."

Jake looked back at the girl being carried.
"Hmmm a forever vagabond? I guess she and I have a lot in common then."

(OOC: The gate is there but it hasn't opened to the students yet. Truth be told I'm still waitin on a few more teachers)
"My name?" Reishi replied, "My name is Tenryuu Reishi."
Jake leaned his head all the way back to look at Rei, "Cute name. Always good to know the people I'm fightin."

"I didn't think someone who speaks Japanese would think it's cute. Reishi is a kind of mushroom y'know, but that's not what my name means," she mocked.
Jake just shrugged and looked back to the other girl. Fishing in his jacket pockets.
"I got some herbs in here some where, they always perk me up when I pass out from trainin."

"Yeah. It's nice to meet you all, but we should probably be worrying about her," Gerden said, walking back to the clearing. He was taking it slow, just to be careful. "How can we fix her?"
Jake chucked a brown paper that wrapped up a small stack of wrinkled, dry herbs that gave off a smell like mint and medicine.
"feed her one if she looks like she flat-lines, other then that I got nothin."

Hotaka mumbled somethig as he apporache dthe girl, putting his hand to his chin in a thinking gesture...and bumped promptly into the small gourd, which he still held and had completely forgotten to put away again!
Then he saw someone else had a few herbs on hand.
"Save this for later then." Hotaka nodded, putting the gourd back into his robes, "The herbs should do for now. She doesn't look injured, just tired. Well, what are you waiting for, an invitation...?"

Gerden laid the girl down gently. "I dunno," he said. "Wouldn't speeding up her metabolism when she's starving be a bad thing? I think we should just let her rest..."
"Sorry, ain't got much on me," Reishi said. Indeed, she was still in her bathing suit.
"Oh fine." Hotaka decided, producing the tiny gourd once more and bending down to the stricken girl.
"Don't throw up, now." he said ho her, lifting her head and uncorking the gourd, "I'm told it tastes very bad. I don't think so, but I've been proven to have a bad sense of taste."
With that, he tilted her head back to open her mouth, and moved to pour the sickly green mixture in the container down her throat...

((Crap in a hat! Leave for a few hours and this thing explodes. Okay, let me try to get back into things here. I'll throw in a teacher if no more show up soon.))
Yin began to prepare to meet Kagura's charge, but the sudden commotion nearby brought their match to a stop. The boy watched the tussle between Reishi and Mr. Millions carefully. His assumptions about Reishi's abilities earlier proved correct. She was quite obviously unfazed by the man's attacks and Yin was sure it would be quite awhile before he could go head-to-head with her.
As for Mr. Millions. Well, Yin could only conclude that fighting like a 'punk' was simply attacking with no thought of honor or discipline. The boy knew of the 'street fighting' method of combat and even found some merit in the style, but to have no focus whatsoever in one's mental conditioning.... he just couldn't imagine it. Where was the honor in a battle cheaply won? That wasn't winning, it was simply surviving.
Yin's young mind took in move after move, cataloging each away for further study later. When the fight ended he turned back to Kagura to offer to resume their match, but it was cut off again by the ill woman. Yin kept his distance to let the 'grown-ups' handle it. He had training in the healing ways of course, standard for any shaolin monk. But the others seemed to be a little more well versed and Yin was content to leave it to them.
Light Strike smiled. They reminded him so much of when he was younger, before the Rikti war....
The hooded figure looked at the old man. "Hmmm,Yoda, taste bad your herbs shall." In case anyone tried to look at him all they could see behind the hood was a full face mask on top to even futher cover his identity.
"So, are you all gonna sit around and fight all day?" He looked around.
Kids, they were all kids compared to him. He had been doing this for years. Still, practice never hurt. He'd go easy on them at first, judge who was the toughest, but when it was time, they had better watch out....
((Make the girl a sandwich for goodness sake! Theres no birds or fruit around? Man... ))
The liquid slid into her mouth which caused her eyes to bulge open. She began coughing and gaging at the taste. What was that awful stuff!? she said, after falling backward away from the old man and wiping her mouth with her arm.
((Oh and Yuri is the same age as my other character so I'll pick 15 years.))

"Yoad's special brand of really nasty tasting stuff that he grows in his backyard." The hooded figure gave her a hand up. She might notice the armored glove on his hand as he did so.
"Don't ask" he whispered to her.
"Cute," she said, still holding his horns, "But anger doesn't give good focus. Your energy is everywhere at once, it's actually leaking out of your eyes! If you managed to focus that power, MAYBE you could make me bleed for a few seconds. Now are you certain you wish to continue, a little more and I'll probably have snapped one of these off."
