Millenium Arena! (Open RP)
"Marcus. Get going." Reikoff commanded, and the Engineer complied...
When Ian heard the announcement, he nearly leapt out of his seat. Teacher! May I PLEEEEEASE enter this match? he begged, his violet eyes wide with anticipation.
Ryjuta just eyed him for a moment before he smiled, Sure, be my guest. He was laughing inside because only he knew the circumstances of the match. It should be impossible for him to win this one.
WOOOOOHOOO! Here I come! Ian shouted as he quickly ran to the next match area. This time I wont lose
.I cant!
((1,2,3
called it))

And the match was ready to begin.
"I despise you," Hal muttered as he and Schizophrenias walked into the arena.
"Awww!" Schizo replied. "Thanks, buddy. That means a lot to me!"
The two of them waited for their opponents. . . Marcus Marcone and Ian Kelly.
Ian marched into the arena, his small chest thrust out before him. He wanted to put on a good show and win the match too but he couldn't help but wonder what was special about this match. A simple two on two match? Kind of boring...
"Oh, hey Hal," Ian said as he waved to the crowd. "So I'm going to be fighting you? Heh, good luck not embarrassing yourself," he laughed then added with a dismissive hand gesture, "I'm only kidding...but I'm not going easy on you."
Ian's eye traveled to Schizophrenias, "Who's your teammate there?....and for that matter, who's mine?"

"My teammate," Hal repeated. "This. . . is my sworn enemy, Schizophrenias. I am being. . . convinced. . . to fight beside him, but I would appreciate it if you did not call him my 'teammate'."
"Oh, and I think you are being paired with a Malta engineer . . . I believe his Master is a Samuel Reikoff."
Schizophrenias merely grinned maliciously at Ian. This would be fun.
Marcus approached them, smoking a large cigar and carring his shotgun.
"'Sup kid. Looks like we're compadres."
And the match begun.
Hallucinogen, predictably, disappeared, and his Phantasm took his place, firing blasts of light at Marcus. Schizophrenias, meanwhile, sprouted thorns and shot them from his arms at Ian.
Marcus? Heh, well if you have any strats you want to share, feel free, Ian returned with a smirk.
Schizo fired thorns at Ian which he dodged seemingly without effort. Ian countered Schizos attack with a silly face, his thumbs planted in his ears and his tongue sticking out. Youre going to have to do better than that, Ian mocked as he slowly moved his right hand toward his bokken. His slow hand contrasted greatly with his quick feet which were rushing at Schizo. With his mastery in Iaido, Ian drew his bokken and struck Schizo in the neck with a lightning fast blunt attack.

"Here we GO!" Marcus roared as He dropped like a brick, dodging the light blasts skillfully and coming back with a phosphorus grenade that should reveal Hal for all to see...
The attack hit, but Schizo grinned. Not only had the limiters greatly weakened the physical attack, but Schizo was humanoid only on a whim; he really had no weak points or vital organs, and whacking him in the neck was no more effective than whacking him on the arm.
Schizo's chin clamped down on the sword like a vice as it hit, so that Ian was stuck in place unless he could break free in time or let go of his sword. For similar reasons, he could appropriate muscles wherever they were needed. . . and just because, the counterattack of thorns was fired from his feet.
Meanwhile, Hal had become visible. . . but it was not going to remove the deadly radiation he was now pouring into Marcus, nor stop his Phantasm from continuing the assault.
((EDIT: I really hope a bokken is a sword. XD))
Marcus flicked a switch and jerked his head, and suddenly his mask hissed with every breath, protecting him moderately from the radiation.
He swung out his SPAS-12 and let fly a cloud of buckshot at Hallucinogen.

it's a wooden sword. It doesn't have an edge so it's basically a short, bent staff
((Here's a picture of some bokken ))
Ian leapt up to escape the thorns coming up at him. He still held his bokken with one hand as he moved over Schizo. Using his shoulder as leverage, Ian attempted to lever the bokken out of Schizos grip. With Ians flip, he would either release his sword from the villains neck and continue the swords path in a circle to strike from above at Schizos shoulder or simply launch Schizophrenias over into the air with his bokken still tightly held by his neck muscles.

Hal's Phantasm swooped in and carried Hal out of the way of the shot, although it was hit itself. Being made of light, however, it was hurt less than Hal would have been, and both Hal and the Phantasm fired more rays of light, aiming at right angles on either side of Marcus so he would be hit if he dodged in any direction other than forward.
Schizo, meanwhile, lunged with Ian's flip, releasing him but sending him much faster than he had intending, and firing thorns after him. . .
(OOC: LOL i just realized i'm glad i'm not in this fight...most or all of my gladiators are close range fighters )
Marcus snarled as the light slammed into his armor, but even as he clutched a badly hit shoulder he threw down a heavy chaingun turret that filled the sky with lead.
Not surprised by extra speed in his release, Ian skillfully changed positions in the air to face Schizophrenias as the thorns zipped in his direction. With a graceful stroke of his bokken, the air distorted by the sheer force being summoned by the wind. Ian landed on the ground in a crouching pose with a bit of a skid, using his free hand along with his feet to bring him to a stop. Soon, the thorns that he struck away rained down, landing straight up in the ground randomly. Why didnt my attack hurt you? Ian asked a bit peeved with the results of his attack.

"Well," Schizophrenias answered, "for one thing, I believe there are limiters placed on melee attacks in this competition. What, didn't know that?"
"However," Schizo continued, "I really think you should not bother attacking my neck. It really isn't any different from the rest of me. See, I'm not actually human."
Schizo popped a thorn and drove it through his neck. With a considerable amount of effort, thanks to the limiters, but it didn't stop him from driving one into his stomach and the exposed brain on his head.
"And now that we've cleared that up," said Schizo, as lurid rainbow-colored blood dripped from his body, "you can die." Waves of purple light poured from his hands that would convince anyone unable to resist that they were surrounded by their worst fears, and thorns followed.

Hallucinogen, meanwhile, was flying around with his Phantasm, trying to dodge bullets. Several grazed his arms and shoulders, but the Phantasm continued firing, now at the turret, while Hal focused his attacks on Marcus.
And three figures had appeared out of nowhere. . . two appeared to be Hallucinogen, while the third was a small pink android girl. The Hals blasted more light at Marcus, and were shortly scooped up by illusionary Phantasms, while the girl shrieked at Marcus, sending waves of sonic energy.
All the figures were illusions, but they were so realistic that even someone who knew they were fake would at least be distracted. . .
"Christ!" Marcus cursed, grabbing his ears.
Thinking on his feet (literally,) the engineer kicked his boot, causing a mean-looking pistol to pop out of the top.
He fired the mini-sapstick in a wide arc in front of him.
"This is a really good fight goin on here." Shinji said
"Yeah I know, hey pass the popcorn....I said pass the damn popcorn!" Ry shouted.
No melee attacks!? Ian gasped in his mind, ...but thats nearly all I have. He began thinking of ways to overcome this stipulation as he watched Schizo stabbing himself.

Still crouching low to the ground, he focused a little of his chakra into his feet and the hand that he was balancing himself with and launched himself at Schizos feet.

Ian was already striking at Schizos shins before he even launched his attack. Ian plowed through Schizos legs with his own body and a strike with his bokken. Ian did a hand spring and a front flip back to his crouching slide and charged again for another lateral slash.

Schizo went flying to the ground, but he was grinning. . . because the rainbow-colored blood he had dripped onto the field had started to boil, and a monstrous fish-man with blue coral embedded all over had risen out of it.
As Schizo intentionally failed to dodge Ian's next attack, intending to distract him, the Coralax breathed a wave of freezing cold at Ian. . .
Hallucinogen, meanwhile, had been hit by the sapstick. He struggled to get to his feet, let alone fight, but his illusions acted independently, and the phantoms and Phantasm continued their assault as their master tried to recover. . .
Marcus backed off, shuddering at the many blasts and trying to get a good enough grip on his shotgun to load some dispersion pellets.
((Basically special anti-summon ammo.))
WHAT!? Ian shouted as the Coralax blasted him with a freezing burst of air. Ian desperately swiped at the air to block the cold but only managed to weaken the freezing breath. Ian was thrown on his back by the cold, shivering greatly as he slowly picked himself back up. It was hard for him to try to make a counter attack until he could get himself a bit warmed up.

((I want to start this up again, so I'll post something or other. And by the way. . . my characters are way more fleshed out now then they were when I entered this, thanks to other threads. So. . . they are likely to act quite differently.
))
Enrique was bored.
He really did not think much of Super Roby's fighting skills. They were effective, to be sure, but hardly much fun . . .
Ah yes, he had an idea. A smile lit his face, making him seem a little less than human. . . or perhaps a little more.
* * * * * *
"I have to WHAT?!?"
Hallucinogen had burst into purple flames. "No WAY! I point-blank refuse to team up with Schizophrenias! EVER!"
"Well," said Enrique, adjusting his glasses, "I am sorry you feel that way. But I am afraid you really have no choice."
Hallucinogen ran at the master, but simply went right through him, now somewhat dusty.
"Oh, I'm sorry," said Enrique, smiling. "But I'm afraid this is only a sand-based projection . . ."
In short time, an exhibition match was announced by Master Enrique. It was a two on two match. . . whichever two challengers chose to step in, versus Hallucinogen and Schizophrenias.
The limiter was set so that melee attacks would be severely restricted, while ranged and area attacks were unaffected.
((I hope this is how you do this. . .))
