It seems I just could not not draw him. He is like a standard here.

I am working on Thor's assassin .

Here is the thumbnail I did of what I have in mind and the rough pencils of the bottom figure.

I would appreciate your comments on this whil I can still fix glaring mistakes without too much frutrations

Thanks

Great post Greymist! Hmm, since you asked for feedback, the only thing I see is that for someone with legs as big as TA...his butt is to small. Obviously, he has those big armoured pads on his thighs...but I still think they give the appearance of massive musculature in the legs. I think that should probably be balanced...especially in that pose...by a bit more in the tushie.

OOOOOOo really good!!!

I'm going to have to agree with Kat about the booty though. But I think it could be taken care of easily by just rounding out that left (our left) cheek and maybe adding a little more substance to the right side.

Great pose!! You have more courage than I my friend

Thanks ,

more booty - That will make my wife happy - yep I see what you mean . Thanks for the good observation.

Could you also tell me for the far hand (his right hand) wich is a better placement the one in the thumbnail (lower) or the one in the rough (higher)?

Anything else I should adjust?

I think i prefer the look in the thumbnail. Lowering the far hand gives a more balanced look to the outsreatched arms.

Hmm, well...it depends on what sort of attitude you are trying to bring across.

The image with the lower hand actually looks more like a "caught in the action" pose...the one with the higher hand looks more grandious. It almost looks flamboyant.

The higher placement does have the advantage of it being clear that it is his hand on the staff. Um, how to explain what I mean by that. Let's see...life is messy...often in a real life snapshot, overlapping images and shadows, etc, can often make it hard to figure out just what you are looking at. While this effect might be very realistic, when I am looking at a comic book style piece...where I am expecting a simplified/magnified reality...I don't like it when I am unsure about just what something is in the picture. For example, if I have to pause for even a moment to realize that the tiny bump sticking out of someones back is actually there elbow...I find it distracting and thefore it reduces my enjoyment of the overall picture.

Now, my long explanation of what I mean is probably making it seem like I think this is more of a problem in your sketch here then it is. I just think, that if you go with the lower hand pose...which I actually think looks more realistic...you will need to be careful to avoid the problem I am talking about above.

Hmm, you know what?

After having typed all that I flipped back to your images again and I don't really think it is going to be a problem for this piece. I like the pose with the lower hand more.

Oh, and I reserve the right to change my mind about anything at any time! =^_^=
