Power Set Name: Shadow Play
Primary/Secondary/Pool: Primary
Arch-Type: Mastermind
1. Onyx Beams You can emit a beam of shadow energy from your eyes, dealing minor negative energy damage. Onyx Beams can also reduce your targets accuracy. (Minor Damage, -ACC)
Animation: This could use the same movement as Ebon Eye from the Warshade set with some changes to colors.
2. Shadow Brood Calls forth one to three Shadow Brood (depending on your level) to do your bidding. All Shadow Brood have melee attacks but they can be upgraded. You may only have three Shadow Brood under your control at any given time. If you attempt to call more Shadow Brood, you can only replace the ones you have lost in battle. If you already have three, the power will fail.
Animation: I was thinking these could be the Imps that the evil swan gets when you fight her as an AV. They are basically shadow fire imps.
3. Onyx Blasts You can send a large blast of shadow energy at a foe dealing moderate damage and lowering the accuracy of your foe. (Moderate Damage, -ACC)
Animation: This again could take its look from Shadow Blast from the Warshade with different colors.
4. Dark Powers Dark Powers will permanently bestow new powers and abilities to your Shadow Pets. The powers gained are unique and dependant upon the target shadow pet that is blessed with dark powers. Dark Powers only work on your Shadow pets and you can only bless any given Shadow Pet once.
Animation: I would go with the Enchant Undead look for this power but with a much darker look, not the red the Necromancy set gets.
5. Onyx Detonation You hurl a blast of shadow energy that violently explodes on impact, damaging all foes near the target. All effected targets have their accuracy reduced. Some foes may be knocked down.(Moderate AoE Damage, -ACC, Foe Knockdown)
Animation: Again to steal from Warshade, going with Dark Matter Detonation for this.
6. Shadow Walker You can summon one or two powerful Shadow Walkers (depending on your level) to do your bidding. Shadow Walkers come well equipped with several attack powers and can be blessed with even more. You may only have two Shadow Walkers under your control at any given time. If you attempt to summon more Shadow Walkers you can only replace the ones you have lost in battle. If you already have two, the power will fail.
Animation: I was thinking the best way to go with these would be to use the new ghosts they have in Croatoa. However with black/purple outlines rather then the green.
7. Event Horizon This power drops a very powerful black hole in a target area. Powerful enemies will be slowed when in the area; weaker enemies will be pulled down (knockdown) from the powerful gravity field. (-Speed, Foe Knockdown)
Animation: This could look a lot like Tar Patch but with some additions.
8. Shadow Beast Summons a dark and powerful Shadow Beast. The Beast is powerful in the shadow arts and has been granted many powers from the dark powers that rule the shadowed corners of our world. You may only have one Shadow Beast under your control at any given time. If you attempt to summon another Shadow Beast, the power will fail.
Animation: For these I was thinking of using the demon beasts that you see in the first strike force on the CoV side. Though rather then fire affects obviously they would be darkness based.
9. Dark Ritual Dark Ritual will bestow the most powerful and darkest new powers and abilities to your Shadow Pets. Blessed Shadow Pet will gain new abilities and powers. The powers gained are unique and dependant upon the target Shadow Pet that is blessed. Dark Ritual works on your Shadow Pets and you can only bless any given Shadow Pet once.
Animation: I would love to see some sort of new animation for this where the toon raises his or her arms and then magic symbols glow around the enhanced pet. Sort of like a magic circle look to it.

Power Set Name: Soul Manipulation
Primary/Secondary/Pool: Primary
Arch-Type: Controller / Dominator
Note: I will highlight in orange the powers that i really like. The rest, like most Controller set, is fillers.
1- Ensnare Soul: You trap a soul with your powers. The target is held. Deals moderate damage. You basic single target hold . Animate like blind / flash grenade
2- Remorses: You manipulate a target's soul into feeling terrible remorses about it's actions. The target is unable to move, and suffers a penalty to its damage potential. Your basic single Immo, but with a -DMG instead of a DoT. Animates like Subdue.
3- Soul Wind: Call forth the souls of the undeads to blow upon your ennemies, sending them flying backward. Some ennemies will be left disoriented by this uneery wind. A Cone Knockback with small chance of disorient Animates a bit like Gale but with the sound of Ghost-blast
4- Slumber: You command the souls of your ennemy to sleep. They will awaken if damaged. Just a classic AoE Sleep
5- Field of Confusion: You command wandering souls to dance around you, creating a field of whispering voices. Ennemies entering the field have a chance to become confused or to cower in fear. This is a PBAoE Toggle effect that creates a Fear/Confuse zone. Think Artic Air without the slow but with better fear. A large whirlwind of greenish ennergy with screeming faces like cloak of fear.
6- Soul Trap: Summon a Beacon of light that will draw your ennemies' souls to it. Ennemies entering it's area of influence will be pulled towards it and can become held by it's power. The Beacon cannot be attacked .
Ok, this is basically an ground-target AoE pulsating Hold field (much like Volcanic Gas) with a beacon in the middle. Mobs into the field are actually pulled towards the beacon. This is a new game mechanic: with all the existing pushback/repel/knockback powers, this would be the first "pull-in" power . The beacon would be some bright sphere of light, with a nice eery female voice song. Mobs would just slowly slide towards it, even if they try to run away. Mobs that becomes held are in Blind animation.
7- Will-O': You summon the soul of a fallen ennemy under the form of a Will-o'-the-wisp that will go and distract your adversaries. The Will-O' deals no damage, and cannot be damaged. He is surrounded by a strong taunting aura, and will cast taunting beams. He will disapear after a while. This is a summon from a dead mob, like soul extraction. And it's another new concept for a controller: using taunt as a control power. Basically, the little Will-O just gets aggro with taunts.
A flying ball of shifting colors .
8- Radiant Soul : Empower the soul of one of your allies, making him become radiant with courage and light. Ennemies close to him will become blinded by his presence, and will remind held in awe. This is an ally-target PBAOE hold toggle. In itself, a new mechanic of control for controllers/doms. Duration/pulses would be similar to cloak of fear. Target ally is just very shinny, and mobs around him become blind.
9- Soul Collection: You capture the soul of a fallen ennemy to be summoned into battle for you. This pet will stay with you until you zone. You can store up to 2 Souls, but can only summon one at a time. Capturing a third soul will replace your oldest one. Stored soul remind with you even after you log out. You can capture ennemies up to the leutenant rank, and up to your level.
Ok, this one is a bit more complicated, yet simple. When you get this power, you get 3 sub-powers (just like a Kheldian form, or a mastermind summon):
1- Capture Soul
2- Summon Oldest Soul
3- Summon Newer Soul
To capture a soul, just cast Capture Soul on a fallen underling/minion/leutenant. This "captures" the soul and "stores" it in your Newer Soul slot. If there already was a Soul stored there, it moves to the Oldest Soul slot. Any Soul that was in the Oldest Slot is erased.
So basically, you can always have 2 stored souls at any time.
Using the appropriate summon sub-power, you can summon a pet, like any controller pet, that will act like the summoned soul.
EXEMPLE: You are 32. You do a freakshow mission and capture as your first soul a Freak Stunner. You can now use your Summon Newer Soul sub-power to summon a Freak Stunner pet. Later on, you kill a meat doctor, and decide to capture it. You now have a Meat Doctor in your Newer Soul power, and a Freak Stunner in your Oldest Soul slot.
You can only summon one up.
Later, you capture a Blood Widow. She becomes Newer, the Meat Doctor is Oldest, and teh Stunner is lost.
Ok, so this is a bit complicated, but i miss the feel of the charm classes in other games. I believe this would be fun to collect and use the best pets available, and to have to renew the hunt for pets each time you level (because soul-levels are static, must find new ones each time).
As for LTs beeing too strong, i don't know, i figure 1 LT = 1 Jack/Stone/3 imps...
You forgot to put Soul Storm in there. That's the most uber looking ST hold in the game.
1) Magic Fire You fling a ball of fire toward your enemy causing minor damage. Fast recharge.
2) Summon Foot Soldiers You call upon some foot soldiers to do your bidding. They will fight to the death and serve you well. You may only have three Warriors at one given time. If you attempt to summon any more the power will fail. You may only replace the ones you have lost in battle. Recharge : Long
3) Magic Blast You let loose a blast of magic from your fingers and it engulfs your targets surrounding in a state of shock for a short period of time. Moderate Damage over Time. Recharge: Moderate.
4) Crown of Glory This power Crowns and permanently bestows new powers to any henchman you have and they get an increased attack, and a modified appearance. This power will only work on any henchman once. Recharge : Moderate
5) Capture Spell You send an invisible pair of hands to clamp down your target and leave him helpless. As time passes these hand will tighten draining your enemys strength. When this power ends your target has a decreased damage output and a longer recharge rate for his powers. Recharge : Long
6) Summon Warriors You bring forth up to two knights to aid you in your battle. These knights have increased armor and strength than Warriors and have better sword skills. You may only have two Warriors at one given time. If you attempt to summon any more the power will fail. You may only replace the ones you have lost in battle. Recharge : Long
7) Web Archers For a quick moment archers appear and spew forth arrows that engulf your targets in a sticky mess. This power lasts for a moderately amount of time and traps enemys where they stand though they can still attack with ranged attacks. Recharge : Long
8) Summon Knight You can summon one awesome and powerful knight. He is extremely strong and is swift with the blade. He has many powers too, with him on the field your other henchmen get an added bonus called Courage and it increases damage and defense. Your knight uses his massive sword for colossal damage. You may only have one Knight at one given time. If you attempt to summon any more the power will fail. You may only replace the ones you have lost in battle. Recharge : Very Long
9) King of War With this power you permanently bestow the most extraordinary powers to your henchmen and they will receive a melee bonus and resistance bonus. This power also alters there appearance.
Hey hope you guys like this power set. I need a name for it really. I was thinking Fantasy Power Set. By the way the powers your character possesses are supposed to be like a mage in a way. Please post what you think and tell me what I should change, add or take out. :P
Power Set Name: Radiation Aura
Arch-Type Pool: Tanker Primary, possibly Brute, Scrapper Secondary
- 1) Alpha Armor - Generates a field of Alpha Particles on the surface of your skin, slowing down physical attacks (Toggle Self: +Resist to Smash, Lethal, Toxic, and Knockback)
- 2) Chemotherapy - You produce an influx of radiation, massively increasing your ability to heal and take damage (Self: +MaxHP, +Regeneration)
- 3) Beta Armor - You generate a hot radioactive field of Beta particles around you that poisons all enemies in the area, while poisoned, their concentration is reduced, and may induce vomiting. (Toggle: PBAE, Taunt, Foe, -Acc, -Def, special)
- 4) Hot Skin - You generate a field over your body interfering with interfering energies. (Toggle: Self, +Res Hold, Sleep, Immobilize, and Slow)
- 5) Energetic Being - Your body has become Radiation itself, making it more difficult for certain energies and chemicals to harm you. (Auto: Self, +Def Energy, Negative, Toxic)
- 6) Gamma Armor - You generate a field around your body of Gamma particles reducing the force of incoming forms of energy. (Toggle: Self, +Res Energy, Negative, Psychic)
- 7) Control Rods - Through careful manipulation of the energies in your body, Temperature variations are controlled. (Toggle: Self +Def Heat, Cold, +Res Disorient)
- 8) Cosmic Battery - You draw Radiant Cosmic energies into your being, increasing you and your nearby allies Endurance recovery, while doing so, your movements are slowed as you channel these energies. Super Jump, Super Speed, and Fly cannot be used during this channeling (Toggle: Self +Recovery, Self -Spd)
- 9) Hyper Mutation - You gather in massive amounts of Energy and release in a massive burst, increasing your attack speed, running speed, and attack power; after a short time this will leave you exhausted and weak, leaving you unable to recover for a few seconds; If you are defeated while using this power, you release a powerful explosion of Radiation, causing your enemies to have a massively reduced Accuracy and Defense. Arch-Type Pool: Tanker Secondary, possible Brute, Scrapper Primary
- 1) Neutrino Brawl - A quick, low damage attack that reduces a target's defense. (Melee Foe Minor Dmg (Energy/Smash), -Def)
- 2) X-Ray Flash - A flash of X-Ray energy from your eyes that does more damage than Neutrino Brawl. (Melee Foe Moderate Dmg (Energy), -Def)
- 3) Flash Burn - Your skin quickly releases a quick burst of radiation, causing nearby enemies to be radiated. (Melee (AOE), Foe Moderate Dmg (Energy), -Def).
- 4) Taunt - You challenge a foe to a fight; useful for pulling enemies off your allies. (Ranged, Foe Taunt)
- 5) Cosmic Blow - Your raised hand channels Cosmic Radiant energy to crash down on your opponent. (Melee Foe Superior Damage (Smashing/Energy), -Def)
- 6) Build Up - Greatly increases the amount of damage you do for a few seconds, and also slightly increases your accuracy. (Self +Dmg, +Acc)
- 7) Electron Breath - You breathe out a massive amount of radiation in a narrow cone, slightly reducing their Defense. (Cone, Foe Superior Dmg (Energy), -Def)
- 8) Cosmic Burst - You smash the target with cosmic particles. The attack is devestating, and can leave most targets disoriented and with reduced defenses. (Ranged Foe Superior Dmg (Energy), Disorient)
- 9) Meltdown - You absorb a massive amount of cosmic radiation, causing you to overload your own body and releasing a massive explosion of Gamma Radiation and force, affecting all opponents near you. Enemies are Knocked Back by the explosion even if they are unaffected by the energy release. Using this power is draining leaving you unable to recover or attack for a few seconds. (PBAE, Foe Extreme Dmg (Energy), Knockback, -Def Self -Recovery, -Recharge, Special)

Power Set Name: Psychic Blade
Primary/Secondary/Pool: Primary
Arch-Type: Scrapper
Authors Notes: I always wanted this set after getting my 1st scrapper to 30. When I first thought of the set, I was thinking Psylocke but after really putting thought and imagination into the set, I was getting a sort of Green Lantern/ Necrid vibe because it would make different weapons with psychic energy. The draw animation would have to be nullified and only last for the instance of the attack.
1. Psyblade- Wraps a blade of psychic energy around your hand for the instance of the attack and slashes at a single opponent. This attack does a combination of psychic damage and lethal damage. Has a chance to slow enemy movement speed and recharge.
2. Mental Blade Strike- Creates a katana of psychic energy and slices twice at the enemy. Same animation as Gamblers Cut. This attack does a combination of psychic and lethal damage, no additional effects.
3. Telekinetic Spike- Creates a large spike in front of you that hits at a slightly longer range and hits a few in a cone area (maximum of 3). This attack does a combination of psychic and lethal damage. Has a chance to slow enemy movement speed and recharge.
4. Concentrate- Increases accuracy to near perfection and greatly boosts the psychic part of your attacks and increases additional effects.
5. Mind Probe- A taunt.
6. Mental Trap- Your character crouches down and puts both hands to the ground and a bear trap clamps around the targets feet(maybe all in a small AoE?). This ranged attack does only psychic damage, immobilizes and has a chance to slow enemy movement speed and recharge time.
7. Psionic Guillotine- Creates an axe of psychic energy and swing at neck level to deal a devastating blow. This attack does a combination of psychic and lethal damage and has a chance to slow enemy movement speed and recharge. Animation would be like Beheader(is that even an attack? Im using the really old version of the game manual for names and what-not) from the Battle Axe Tanker set.
8. Piercing Thoughts- You send your thoughts out in a series of painful spines that pierce all around you. This attack does a combination of psychic and lethal damage and has a chance to slow enemy movement speed and recharge. Animation would be either your character crouching down and sends our huge triangular spikes that extend from the characters body looking like a spikeball/porcupine OR just use the ugly Spine Burst animation.
9. Telekinetic Sword Slash- You create a broadsword of psychic energy and strikes your enemy upward, dealing lots of damage. This attack does a combination of psychic and lethal damage. Has a chance to slow enemy movement speed and recharge time as well as knock enemy up. Animation would be like Disembowel(thats the Broadsword knock up attack right? Never made a Broadsword Scrapper, only katana).

Power Set Name: Psychic Armor
Primary/Secondary/Pool: Secondary
Arch-Type: Scrapper
Authors Notes: I didnt want to have my psychic blade set to be lonely so I made a matching secondary. Unfortunately, I had to come up with something that isnt too similar to any other defensive set, still be somewhat effective but isnt too powerful. I came up with something that has more inherent powers rather than toggles and clicks.
1. Telepathic Aura- You cover yourself with an aura of telepathic waves that penetrate any minds around you, giving you the ability to predict their melee attacks and giving you the time to dodge them. +Def vs melee attacks. This power is always on and costs no endurance.
2. Telekinetic Waves- You send out telekinetic waves that alter the path of projectile attacks. +Def vs ranged attacks. This power is always on and costs no endurance.
3. Strong Minded- You reenforce your mind with psychic training to protect yourself from other psychics that try to invade your mind. Also, your strong mind allows you to disperse certain energies with telekinesis. You get good defense and resistance to psychic damage and a slight resistance to energy, negative energy and electric. This power is always on and costs no endurance.
4. Psychic Chainmail- You create a powerful armor of telekinetic energy that decreases damage from weapons and bullets but takes much concentration to maintain. This toggle gives good +res to leathal and smashing but has a high endurance cost and very long recharge.
5. Minds Eye- When you sleep or are in some way incapacitated, the psychic eye of your mind opens, giving you a chance to react even without consciousness. This power gives you a very small amount of +def to all forms of attack but while asleep, stunned or disoriented you gain a very large bonus to defense. This power is always on and costs no endurance.
6. Mirror of the Mind- You use your strong psychic powers and powerful mind to break away from the pains of any form of suppression and reflects it upon your enemies. This power removes sleep, stun, immobilize, hold and fear effects from the user and places it on those in a small AoE around you(of the same magnitude that it was on you). This is a click power that can be used while under status effects like a Break-Free and also leaves you resistant to such effects for a time.
7. Diligent Mind- Any form of power that attempts to enslave your mind and body will trigger your hidden power, increasing the rate at which you heal and recover. This power slightly increases your regeneration and recovery rate but gives you a large bonus to regen and recovery while immobilized, slept or held. This power is always on and costs no endurance.
8. Swift Thoughts- You are more intune with your psychic abilities, allowing you to think more quickly and more clearly. You gain a bonus to your recharge times and recovery rate as well as a slight resistance to immob, sleep, hold, fear, stun, knockback and disorient. This power is always on and costs no endurance.
9. Telekinetic Armor- You create a set of plate armor made of psychic energy that deflects most attacks. Any energy, negative energy, fire, ice, electric or psychic attacks you receive damage from will restore a small amount of endurance. This armor is a toggle and only costs a moderately high amount of endurance, but is still a hindrance on your mind. All other powers endurance costs are increased.

Cool Idea. I have loved the idea of a Psi-Blade attack set since seeing Psylock with her psi-blade.

Leogunner, I love the idea of a psionic melee power set...but...well, do you want Cryptic to get sued by Marvel again? Psi blades are way do much like Psylocke
However, instead of psy blades how bout psy tendrils? In other words psionic tenticle-like things come out of the characters head and slash at the opponents mine (be great for Stalkers). I like the Secondary you made though.
Oh ya almost forgot, Ive been itching to see some sort of Gravity Melee for brutes...just throwing the idea out there (My brain is not working right now so I cant think of any good powersets but...) for example:
Antigravity Uppercut: Decrease the gravity around your opponent and deliver a massive uppercut that will send him flying into the air, only to bring him crashing to the ground by bringing the gravity to its normal state.
Mega-ton Smash: Drasticly increase the gravity around your fists then deliver a devistating two handed blow sending your foe crashing into the ground, unable to move for a short period of time.
Thats all I can think of, maybe you guys could think some up ;P
Powerset Name: Sonic Containment.
Archetypes: Controller, Dominator.
Primary Powerset.
1) Whisper - Single target sleep. You lull your target to sleep for a short period of time. Minor damage, short recharge, minor damage resistance debuff.
2) Echo - Single target hold. You leave a horrendous echo ringing in the ears of your target, making them unable to act. Moderate damage, recharge and resistance debuff.
3) Roar - Cone knockback. You give a tremendous roar, tossing your foes great distances. This power has no resistance debuff or damage. Short recharge.
4) Shrill Screech - Targetted AoE accuracy and perception debuff. A shrill screech can break one's concentration totally, making it harder for him to see. Moderate recharge, no damage.
5) Tranquilize - Targetted AoE sleep. A tranquil lullaby puts even the mightiest foes to sleep. Moderate recharge, damage and resistance debuff.
6) Siren's Charm - Single target confuse. You trick your opponent into doing your bidding. No resistance debuff or damage, moderate recharge.
7) Deafening Cry - PBAoE hold. You leave hordes of foes helpless with your mind numbing scream. Long recharge, no damage, minor damage resistance debuff.
8) Convulsion - You create a ripple in the sound barrier, that causes an earthquake like effect. Foes that pass over the Convulsion will fall until it ends.
9) Call Banshee - You call a Banshee to do your bidding. It will follow you until it is defeated, or released. It has several Sonic Attacks to aide you in battle. (Shriek, Scream, and Howl) Long recharge.
Powerset name: Sonic Assault
Archetypes: Dominator, secondary powerset.
1) Shriek - Same as Sonic Attack.
2) Howl - Same as Sonic Attack.
3) Clamor - A loud clamor near the target inflicts moderate smashing damage. Recharge, moderate, melee, minor resistance debuff.
4) Scream - Same as Sonic Attack.
5) Amplify - Same as Sonic Attack.
6) Pulsate - By activating this power, you give off a constant humming, that reduces nearby foes damage resistance. Moderate recharge, high endurance PBAoE, damage resistance debuff toggle.
7) Bellow - You bellow at your opponent from point blank, doing moderate damage, and sending him flying. Moderate recharge, damage, minor resistance debuff.
8) Ear Splitter - You give off an ear splitting scream, possibly leaving all nearby opponents disoriented. PBAoE, moderate damage, long recharge, minor resistance debuff.
9) Shout - Same as Sonic Attack.

Powerset name: Mutants
Archetype: Mastermind, Primary Powerset.
1) Neutrino Bolt - Same as Radiation Blast.
2) Call Deviants - You call one to three mutated Deviants to do your bidding. They have a variety of powers from their mutations, and can recieve secondary mutations to gain new abilities.
[*]The first Deviant would be an Electric/Electric Blaster. He would start with Charged Bolts and Charged Brawl.
With Forced Mutation, he'll gain Lightning Bolt, and Havoc Punch.
With Forced Evolution, he'll gain Tesla Cage, and Static Discharge.
[*]The second Deviant will be an Energy/Energy Blaster. He'll start with Power Bolt and Energy Punch.
With Forced Mutation, he'll gain Power Blast, and Bonesmasher.
With Forced Evolution, he'll gain Power Burst.
[*] The third Deviant will be a Sonic/Sonic Defender. He'll start with Shriek, and a Sonic Barrier that reduces all damage but Psionic and Toxic.
With Forced Mutation, he'll gain Scream and Sonic Siphon.
With Forced Evolution, he'll gain Shout and Clarity.
3) X-Ray Beam - Same as Radiation Blast.
4) Forced Mutation - Forces your selected Mutant Henchman to mutate rapidly, granting him new abilities. This power is permanent, and can only be used once per henchman.
5) Electron Haze - Same as Radiation Blast.
6) Divergents - You call one or two(Depending on your level) mutated Divergents to do your bidding. They have a variety of attacks from their mutations, and will use them at your command.
[*] The first Divergent will be a Spines/Regeneration Scrapper. He'll start with Barb Swipe, Lunge and Fast Healing.
--With Forced Mutation, he'll gain Impale and Reconstruction.

7) Clone - You create an unstable copy of your selected Mutant Henchman. The clone acts on its own accord, and will not follow orders. It will have half of the health, and damage resistance of the original. Because the clone is unstable, it will die a few minutes after its creation. If you've used Forced Mutation or Evolution on the pet that you're cloning, the clone will have all of the ablities gained from the buffs.
8) Abberation - You call a great Stone Tanker to do your bidding. The Abberation has several Earth based attacks, and is very tough. Only one Abberation may be under your control at a time, if you try to summon another one, the power will fail.
--The Abberation will start with Stone Fists, Stone Mallet, and higher base resistances than your other Henchman.
--With Forced Mutation, he'll gain Heavy Mallet, and Provoke.
--With Forced Evolution, he'll gain Seismic Smash, and Earth's Embrace.
9) Forced Evolution - You force your selected Mutant Henchman to evolve greatly, bestowing new abilities. This power is permanent, and can only be used once per henchman.

Seriously I LOVE this mutant power too. Thats the ultimate in Masterminds. Taking the homeless off the street and twisting them to do your bidding.

Power Set Name: Gadgets
Primary/Secondary/Pool: Primary
Arch-Type: Controller/Dominator
1. Web Grenade Web Grenade expels a strong, tenuous and very sticky substance that can immobilize most targets. This non-lethal device deals no damage, and does not prevent targets from attacking. The grenade prevents targets from moving, reduces their attack rate, brings down flying foes, and prevents the foe from jumping. (Immobilize, -Fly, -Recharge)
Animation: This could use the same animation as the other Web Grenade animations.
2. Paralyzer Dart Upon impact, the Paralyzer Dart starts to work releasing its toxin. This toxin can paralyze most targets. This non-lethal device deals minimal damage over time as the toxic goes to work on the subject. The victim is held helpless and unable to defend himself as the toxin paralyzes him. (Hold, Minor Toxic DoT, -Recharge)
Animation: I was thinking they could adopt the animation the Blood Widows use when they fire their wrist darts, those or the tier 2 ninja henchmen.
3. Glue Bomb This grenade carries a cartridge of intensely sticky glue, which explodes on impact. The glue is strong enough to hold foes in their place. Targets are able to still attack but they cannot move. (AoE Immobilize, -Recharge)
Animation: What I would like to see for this animation is for them to take the underhand toss of the Mastermind/Poison power Alkaloid, add to that a grenade instead of the poison heal and have the grenade leave the toons hands and roll to a stop where you target it. The glue of course they could steal from Glue Arrow.
4. Tear Gas Covers a target foe, and all other foes around the target in clouds of Tear Gas. The targets are so blinded by the Tear Gas that they can hardly see a thing. Most Foes will not be able to see past normal melee range, although some may have better perception. If the foes are attacked they will be alerted to your presence, however they will suffer a penalty to hit. (-ACC, -Speed, -Recharge)
Animation: I would go with the Web Grenade animation again for this however of course I would add in a nice cloud of green/yellow smoke once the grenade hit the target.
5. Seeker Drones you create two Seeker Drones. These Seeker Drones will follow you until they detect an enemy and then they will zero in on their targets and detonate on impact. The small concussion can weaken foes. Affected targets will have reduced Damage, Accuracy and Perception and may even be disoriented for a short while. You can only ever have two Seeker Drones out at one time and they can be destroyed by your foes. (-ACC, -DMG, Disorient, Minor Damage)
Animation: This is just a copy from the Mastermind Traps set I think it would work great for this gadget-based controller set.
6. Earth Shaker You create a powerful device able to shake the very ground. This seismic device is placed in the ground at your feet and creates a localized earthquake at your location. Most foes that pass through the location will eventually fall down. Additionally, the violent shaking will reduce their ability to react to your actions or get their bearings. (Knockback, -Recharge)
Animation: This could be like the Triage Beacon power or the mine powers where you kneel down and place an object on the ground, however the graphic for this could obviously be changed to suit the set.
7. Nero-Paralyzer you have invented a device that can create a localized Nero-Paralyzing field. This device is thrown at a target location and on impact releases its deadly energy. The field Incapacitates foes in a small area around the target. The targets are left helpless as their brain functions stop. This energy also deals minor damage over time to the foes in the area. (-AoE Hold, Minor DoT)
Animation: Again I would be a fan of the underhand toss for Alkaloid but this time I would like to just see a blue (or purple as CoH likes to use purple for Psionic attacks) ball of energy that is tossed to its location then explodes in some sort of electrical field of the same kind of color. Every few seconds a bolt of energy could fly from the device to one of the foes to add to the animation.
8. Sonic Disruptor You have been able to build a sonic pistol. The sonic energy in the pistol is strong enough to disrupt the inner ear of your targets and thus disorientating them for a short time. Targets take a while to recover from this assault on their ears as well. (AoE Disorientate, -Recharge)
Animation: For this I would like to see the Crey Pistol animation used. Just change the look of the pistol and have it fire a CoH-like sonic blast at a target area.
9. Protector Bot You can summon one powerful Protector Bot. The Protector Bot can defend you by placing Force Fields on you. Make no mistake though, the best defense is a good offence, and Protector Bots are well equipped with energy weapons.
Animation: Not sure if I would totally go with the Protector Bot look from the Mastermind set (or even the same pet but I think it would fit if you gave them the upgrades that let them fire the Proton Grenades. Thus the Controller would summon the equal to a Mastermind Protector Bot with the proton grenades but not the seeker drones).
**note - For most power sets there is a theme, like fire has its DoT's and Ice its slows. For gadgets alot of the powers have a -recharge in them and I think it works well, fits with the powers and helps tie them together and isn't a theme used in any current controller/dominator sets.**

Great thread, the format suggestion is a good idea, a sticky for this thread isn't a bad idea either.
I think I'll PM Cuppa and see if she'll grant it the almighty Sticky.
Thanks for the imput on the format, I really wanted to creat a thread that would have a well thought out power idea area. Rather then just people randomly tossing ideas out there. Though the random ideas are great as well as it helps those of us that are trying to come up will full sets some starting blocks some times.

1. Mind Over Body - Your mind braces your body against physical attacks, along with steeling you against psionic assaults. Moderate resistance to Smashing and Lethal damage, small resistance to Psychic damage. (Toggle. Animation: Weapon sheathed, one hand touches forehead as very small glow pops up - pink/grey.)
2. Psychic Insulation - Your mastery of the twin arts of pyrokinesis and cryokinesis allows you to create a field that dulls cold and fire attacks, along with increasing your resistance to mental attacks. Moderate +res fire/cold, small +res psychic. (Toggle. Animation: Fire Shield, except with Red/pink/blue psychic flames.)
3. Focused Metabolism - You strongly enhance the metabolism of your body, healing yourself - your metabolism remains enhanced for a time afterward, leaving you with resistance to slow effects and toxic damage. 25% self-heal, moderate +res (Toxic, Slow). (Click. Animation: Reconstruction with a pink glow.)
4. Telekinetic Explosion - You force your opponents away from you, with a single kinetic explosion. This power does minor damage, but knocks all enemies off their feet and away from you. Even if the enemy is not knocked down, the force of the explosion will push them away. Strong knockdown, strong repel, very minor damage. (Click. Animation: Nova, with a pink explosion that goes about 5 feet.)
5. Psychic Absorption - You create a psychic aura around yourself that can absorb Energies of all forms - this grants you some protection against Energy attacks, along with strengthening your mind against Psionic attacks. Moderate +res Energy and Negative Energy, small +res Psionic. (Toggle. Solid pink oval around body.)
6. Implacable Will - You focus your mind to resist Fears, Confusion, controlling effects, and Psionic damage. Moderate +res (Psychic, Confuse, Hold, Disorient, Sleep, Fear). (Click. Animation - hands at sides, similar to Death Shroud, while a soft pink circle closes in on the head.)
7. Unfocus - You can work to make your enemies unfocused, reducing their damage potential, while increasing your accuracy. +acc for all enemies in range, -dam to all enemies in range. (Toggle. Animation: Circles similar to Mass Hypnosis rotate around head of source every tick it refreshes.)
8. Drain Psyche - See Dominator Psychic Assault.
9. Psychic Juggernaut - You shun your flesh, becoming a being of pure psychic energy. This form grants you a significant boost to your damage resistances and controlling effects, along with your psychic damage. This comes with a price - the condition of your body rapidly deteriorates while transformed into pure energy, and you are unable to be healed while this power is in effect, though you may choose to end the effect at any time. Very long recharge. Too many blasted alts to list, but all on Virtue.
Power Set: Morphing
Scrapper/Brute Primary, maybe tanker second, or Stalker primary.
Note: Remember this is a melee set, not an armor/defense set, so that's why all forms don't give any def/res/end/health.
Also, i can't think of names for attack, sorry.
1- Claw Swipe : You hit your ennemy with the side of your hand. Deals minor damage, but recharges very very fast. (Minor Smash/Lethal Damage, Recharges very fast)
2- Lychantropy : You transform into a werewolf. While in wolf form, you are more precise with your attacks and your powers recharge faster. You can only use 1 animal form at a time. (Toggle: Self + ACC + Recharge)
3- Upperclaw : You hit your ennemy with a great upper swing of your claw. (Moderate Smash/Leth damage, recharge moderate)
4- Greater Claw Swipe : You swing your claws in a great arc around you, damaging all foes in it. (Moderate Large Cone Smash/Leth damage, recharge moderate)
5- Bear Form : You transform into a huge beast, taking up the features of a bear. In bear form, you are slower then in wolf form, but you hit harder, enough to stun an opponent. You can only use 1 animal form at a time. (Toggle: Self +dmg, + chance to disorient on attacks)
6- Devastating Blow : A powerfull blow (Superior Lethal/Smash Dmg, recharge long)
7- Howl : You howl at an oponent, taunting him. (single target taunt)
8- Killer Instinct : Following your animal instincts, you deliver a fatal blow to your opponent. This attack has a chance to do double damage and to affect more then one opponent. (Extreme smash/leth damage, chance for double damage, chance to affect many mobs)
9- Reptile Form : You take the aspect of the snake. While in snake form, all your attack are poisonous, and you emanate a toxic aura that will greatly debilitate your opponents. You can only use 1 animal form at a time.(Toggle: + Toxic moderate DoT to all attacks, Small PBAoE aura of -DEF, -ACC, -RES).
Note: basically, this is a 5 attack set + 1 taunt, but with 3 "forms". It is weak from not having a build-up power (ouch) and no built-in secondary effect to attacks, but makes up by versatile buffs. You can decide to play as a scrapper on Hasten/Tactics (wolf), as an energy melee on assault (bear) or as a powerfull debuffing snakes.
A player would probably switch according to team buffs, solo vs team situation, etc...
Hey everyone, Welcome to Lady-Jades Power suggestion box. I have been kicking this idea around a lot for a while now and finally got the guts to try this. A while back I was listening to an online radio station that will remain nameless (this isnt a plug for them), they had Cuppajo as their guest. One thing she mentioned about posts in the forums and the Dev team is that post that are well organized, easy to read and made up of things like lists that are easy to compile and get to the meat of the information faster are things that She looks for when she is passing things on to the Dev team if something catches her eyes.
So I had this idea for a power suggestion thread (I know not a new idea). However when I was thinking of it I was thinking of one that would have guidelines to it. Rules that each suggestion would follow that way each suggestion would follow the same profile/format. Some thing that would make all the powers compiled easier to access for a Dev (should one grace this post with a visit). There have been a lot of power suggestions but no real consolidation of the well thought out and documented ones.
I love seeing suggestions for new powers but sometimes all people post are I would like to see a water based power set. That in itself doesnt really help the Devs. So I would love it, if anyone that wants to add powers to here (and please do) to just follow the following example. Following this initial post Ill be posting my first power idea. I am working on more then 1 but I only have 1 done enough to post following my own rules. So one thing I would like to see is if you are planning to post a power set here that you post all the powers in the set. Thus if you are posting a Primary/secondary you post all 9 powers in that set. If its a pool power then the 4 powers in that set. Id like to see things follow somewhat the following format.
Power Set Name: (example Super Reflexes)
Primary/Secondary of Pool Power: (example Secondary)
Arch-type it is for: (example Scrappers/Stalkers)
List of Powers
For each power I would like to see the following.
Power Name: (example Focused Fighting)
Description of Animation: (example Uses the same animation as weave)
Power Effects: (example +DEF to all Melee/Smashing/Lethal attacks)
