Twart the Thorns bugged?

Has anyone gotten this? My VG did a a Twart the Thorns push yesterday. The blue bar is at the end...in fact if you look closely it goes beyond the edge.

We have experienced this with other badges.... It moves until you get to the very end then it seems to stop and take forever to award.

We HATE HATE HATE CoT and dont want to do any more of their missions than need be.

Just trying to figure out if there is an issue with the badge.

We got it.

If I may ask is this badge related to arresting any and all Thorns or just missions with thorns in them. I am trying to get the last 2 badges and open up what it lets us get. Thanks and what does this badge open up for the SG.

Our VG filled the bar on Saturday sometime and despite the numerous additional CoT missions we have run, it just doesn't seem to get awarded.

We even had some members run a SF with several CoT in it and have not gotten it yet. Nice to hear someone got it. Did you have to do anything special? Did you also notice that your bar appeared to be full for some time before being awarded the badge?

Sounds exactly like what we experienced....

Ironically, we ended up with a series of Cot missions again last night... People even commented on why there were so many CoT missions in the game and they never want to team with us again cuz all we ever do is fight CoT!

The blue bar is clearly past the end markers. I am out of contacts so I am going to run some CoT paper missions today.

We experienced the same thing with teh healing badge. It moved rather quickly until it got to the end. Thought it was going to hit any moment. Ended up staying up until 4 AM and nothing happened. One guy pulled an allnighter and got the badge... Weird thing was that he filled the second badge pretty far in a couple of hours.. It just semed to be a different rate than the end of first one or else the graphics are not reporting the totals correctly.

In anycase, ours has been at the end for nearly 3 days

It seems that the true end mark on this badge progression bar is at some point beyond the visible 'end of the bar'. =P

Our guild has this badge and it was a couple days after reaching the 'end of the bar' all the while running CoT missions to the exclusion of others.

With the spiffy new badge we unlocked access to the 'repulsor'. It's some kind of defensive base object and you will only see it in the base edit menu if you are adding items to a secure room. It is not something that is crafted, do not panic when you fail to see it on your benches.

In Soviet Russia, Badge thwarts you!

But, seriously, has anyone figured out what makes this progress? Just taking out CoT? Completing CoT missions? Bouncing a Thorn Wielder up and down with Lift in Perez Park? Anything?

My understanding is just "completing" CoT missions...

So basically just doing lots of KILL X and guards mission and just going startight to the boss should do it...

Now that I find its just a repulsor ray we wont have any place to put for 4 months, I dont care if it pops or not.

The badge counts the number of Thorn specific missions completed not the number of CoT in general defeated. So, street hunting for Thorns won't help.

Ok, but the question was if this badge was bugged.
Our SG has also experienced this. We've had our bar filled for over a week and nothing has been awarded.

Anathema got it last night on virtue.

200 Thorns missions per the badge text.

Yeah, my SG Power's Affliction on Virtue got it about two or three weeks ago. It's definitely 200 Thorns missions.

Can we assume that newspaper missions count toward this badge as well?

I bugged this in game for our SG also. So if someone just recently got it maybe the bar isn't filling at the right rate. It says full before we actually have the right amount of missions completed. I'd like to know about this one also.

I've seen the bar move upon the completion of a CoT paper mission, so I'd say yes.

We finally got the badge last night.

The answer is (as Recluse mentioned), you need to complete 200 COT missions. If your blue bar is at the very end, do a couple more missions and you should be able to push it over the edge.

Street-sweeping won't do it.

We got the badge last night also. I don't think the badge is bugged but the progress bar seems to be. It does seem that the bar is *full* for several days even when your group is running CoT missions in an attempt to finish it off.

Best advise I can give is that you will probably get the badge a few days after the bar seems to be *full*.

I can confirm that the badge is granted to SGs well after the progress bar fills to the point of appearing full on the SG badge display window. My SG has been after this badge essentially since release, since it is the only badge that we could clearly work toward - the others appear to be things that happen over time and are beyond substantial control by the player.

Please note that the item granted by this badge is next to useless; you'll receive a badge much earlier on for earning influence which provides an upgraded version of the item which is granted by this badge, thus negating the need to concentrate on CoT missions.

Another odd note here - 3-4 days after the Preorder period began, so probably around Nov. 2nd or 3rd, all the progress we made as an SG toward the Thwart the Thorns mission was completely removed, at least according to the progress bar. Our SG is Or Die Trying, on the Virtue server, and was formed during the first few hours of the preorder period if that helps anyone track down the issue. The game was so buggy at that point that there seemed little reason to report it as a bug; we were certain we would meet the badge requirements shortly and simply went on plugging away at missions. Have other SGs experienced a setback when working toward this badge?

Finally, a note to those who are attempting to get this badge as a group - so assuming 6-8 man parties. Anyone should be able to solo a CoT mission on Villainous at any level, but for groups this is simply not the case.

You'll find that you're most efficient against the CoT between level 20 and level 30. Prior to level 20 Ruin Mages and their Earthquake attack will often prove to be an unsurmountable obstacle because no villain set has support or defense as a primary skill set, so you have absolutely no way to nullify earthquake. After level 30 Succubus and Nerva Spectral Lords will utterly destroy most parties due to the fact that there is no effective defense against psionic damage which has been added to succubus, and the Nerva Spectral Lord debuff is unnecessarily powerful; even with two Accuracy SOs in your powers, a single NSL can render your accuracy totally unacceptable for combat and two of them can drop your accuracy to the point where you can not hit at all. If your healer is Kinetics or Dark Miasma, you can save him some trouble by picking up a shovel and digging your own grave.

Finally, if you get into later missions with both Wailers and Circle of Thorns, I suggest that you immediately abandon the mission until you reach level 40. The wailers resistance debuff combined with the succubus' psionic damage results in one shot kills against brutes that attempt to tank; obviously, Mastermind pets don't fare much better. If you have a large number of Stalkers or Dominators they're still doable, but debt is a major issue here and it's best to wait until debt 40 so debt doesn't matter.
