Would be great to know what issues are not valid. We could either explain them differently, or know to stop asking.

Graphics: The power icon for Detention Field does not match its effect. The icon suggests this power buffs an ally's resistance to energy and negative energy damage.

[ QUOTE ]
Quality of Life: Detention Field's graphic needs to be more obvious -- currently teammates can't tell when an enemy is detained and waste attacks on it.
[/ QUOTE ]
just want to add more to the detention field issues. detention field does not accept hold enhancements. don't know if that was as intended.
graphics for detention field before I4 was just a blue colored bubble would like to see that returned. the new graphics are horrid and very translucent. think it needs to display the message, "you can't attack that target". like it does when you attempt to attack an npc. also not make the player able to attack when detained.
graphics: no warning indication when the detention field is about to drop. not asking for a warning icon. just a f/x that could show the field dissipating instead of dropping completely.
Please add to the Kinetics list some items on Inertial Reduction...
If Inertial Reduction expires while a character is in the air, they drop like a rock and take falling damage. (is this Quality of Life?)
IR has a recharge time longer than its on-time. This makes it very inconvenient as a continuous travel power.
In general, IR does not compare to Superjump, and primaries should be better than pools. SJ is "instant on" allowing you to flee combat. SJ costs less End over the same duration. When you add the time spent activating IR and the "dead time" between buff expiration and recharge, your total distance traveled over that time is worse than with SJ - it should at least be equal.
I've never tested a Kin Controller, but I would bet IR has the same level of benefit for them.

Amen to that! Which of our concerns are not "valid"... frankly I think that was a somewhat condescending term to use here. People are not happy with these problems for whatever reason, and no one is going "ZOMG My d3f3nd3r is t3h suxx0rz b3c4u5e she is not t3h ub4rz!!!11" Everyone that's posted is mature and has a legitimate reason to be upset with their powers.
So really, I think every concern here is valid, but I too, want to know what counts as far as they're concerned.

Detention Field does not take HOLD enhancements because it isn't a HOLD... It is a PHASE, so it takes PHASE enhancements.
Also note: unlike just about every other status effect in the game, PHASE enhancements do not increase the duration of the effect. PHASE enhancements increase the MAG of the effect. Granted Detention Field can PHASE a +2 AV out-of-the-box in my experience, so the +MAG seems rather pointless. But that's how the Dev's have specifically described its function.

Lighten up....it amazes me how sensitive some posters are to the semantics utilized by the devs. He gave a reply, said he was watching this thread and that's worth a LOT more to me than psycho-analyzing his intent behind the word "valid."
the power only list 4(?) enhancement options, range, acc, end red, recharge(?). so even if it is a phase power it can't be enhanced.
also if you gonna quote the devs pls post the link you are quoting from. like to read it myself.

I'll bet he's kicking himself for bothering to respond at all. Teach him, won't you? Next time, he'd be better served to just stay silent and surprise us with a bug fix, wouldn't you say? Or maybe use his personnel budget to fire a bug-tester and instead hire a marketing person to craft his replies so that they are more politically-acceptable to the forum regulars?
I'm just thrilled he has read the list, and hope he only reads the posts related to bugs and not all the "but what does 'valid' mean" psuedo-accusations. I don't want any of the devs wasting time doing anything other than FIXING MY BUBBLER!

I would rather they be informative than politcally acceptable, but thats just me.
It would be nice to know what they don't consider an issue.
I'm sorry if asking makes you feel that we are being overly harsh and critical of the devs but I can't expect everyone in the world to be reasonable so I forgive you. Everyone gets pissy every once in awhile and I understand that.
Another bug with TA but I don't see how they could fix it.
Oil Slick registers as an enemy, consequently Phantom Army will spend some time attacking it instead of an enemy. I imagine all pets do this.
On a side note, I haven't confirmed it but some controller power just eliminates my Oil Slick after I apply it without lighting it on fire. I was in a team with three controllers and something was causing my oil slick to just up and dissappear which I have not seen before or since. These were all fights against council. Needless to say, it is rather annoying.
Another for the poor bubblers:
Detention Field: The Immobilization effect of Detention Field is easily resisted. Resistant targets can move around freely while "captured" by this power.
Troll bosses in the Hollows made my new Defender look like an idiot for taking this power.

I just had this image of a bubbled troll walking up to the Police drones. Simply hillarious as the looks of horror spread on the lowbie faces as they see the police drones unable to teleport the troll. That would be great, get a tank to taunt the boss then Detention field him and drag him over the drones.
The expressions would be priceless.
Trick Archery: Graphics:
Disruption Arrow has the same issue that sonic bubbles do and needs to change. It has slowly expanding white bands that are then followed by a faster expanding white band. This causes a strobe effect that is visually annoying and personally causes me to not use the power or to log off after having used it several times. This is frustrating as it happens to be one of the better powers in the set.

Twilight grasp's animation time doesn't bug me. It's AoE is pretty big and it heals for a lot. It's also a very, VERY powerful debuff. To me, it's a debuff with a healing component.
[ QUOTE ]
I agree. It's actually comparable in magnitude with Empathy's AoE heal, and it does debuff toHit and health recovery significantly. I don't find the animation very annoying. Maybe I just remember the way it used to be.
[/ QUOTE ]
[/ QUOTE ]
To be specific, Twilight Grasp is a single target 20% To Hit Debuff, 12.5% Damage Debuff and -Regen Debuff, with a large side helping out AoE Heal(base heal is equal to 23% of your base HP).
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm not knocking Twilight Grasp, I love it, but there are times where it needs to go off faster. It could be a +100% Heal with a 200yd radius and it still wouldnt matter if I can't activate it before someone goes down.
True story: On a team of 4 roughly even leveled characters, on one of the Croatoa cave missions vs Tuatha. My roommate is playing a fire/storm, and me with my D3. I'm running Shadowfall, and he's running Steamy Mist. He opens with Smoke, and I open with Tar Patch. as im throwing Darkest Night on one of the Lts, he throws Fire Cages on the group and draws aggro. a couple seconds later, he drops to 50%, so I activate TG. He's dead before it activates. That's what I'm talking about here.
Now, im not sure about your playstyles, but personally, when Im playing my D3, ive got a lot of different tools to use, so I can't really be standing on the sidelines waiting to use TG the moment someone goes to 70% health.

I think in general "not valid" refers to those things that we either think are bugs but are not, or (un)consciously realize that they are not but want them changed anyway.
However, the difference between "valid" and "not valid" are determined by the devs, maybe not until weeks after this list is posted and they've gotten a chance to go over them more closely. And what might have been a bug one day may the next day be a feature based on its success (and "success" is also determined by the devs).
So I don't think it's possible to answer a question like that. But I'd say that in general, "bug" implies that software intentionally written does not work the way it was intended to, as in a coding problem caused by faulty algorithms or typos. This shuts out most "balance" and "quality of life" type reports, such as nerfing 90 second buffs to 60: it's not the sort of thing that can be coded in by mistake. While it may be a "valid" concern, it's not really a "bug."
Not that it shouldn't be reported to the devs, of course. It should, and threads like this are good ways of collecting lists of known issues without a whole lot of debate and emotional outpouring (read: "whining").
But I don't think we'll be given an objective definition anytime soon for what the devs do and don't want to see here. They might not even know until after they've read the thread, and they might still change their minds.

Okay, one, I said "somewhat condescending" not "absolutely and completely condescending".
And funny you should say psycho-analzying, cuz I'm taking Abnormal Psych right now, and, to be a twit, what I did wasn't psycho-analyzing.
That said, lemme apologize for being snippy, I'm a girl, and I'm going to particularly testy for the next week or so, if that says anything.

Wanta bet? Seal of the Crusader in World of Warcraft, Space Tech 3 in Mankind, the Lingering Radiation fix not long ago. Typos happen. Hell, CuppaJoe made two just copy-pasting about Defense types.
And this isn't a list of bugs. Nor did anyone say only the bugs would be fixed.
I don't say that because I want to shoot you down, I say it only because I'm trying to understand why Valid turned into Bug.
This is a list of issues. The devs have said that they will address the valid issues. That may include quite intentional designs like the Sonic Bubbles, or it may include balance issues, many of which (like half of Storm and some of FF) could be seen as programing bugs as well.

It was pretty neat when my stone tank was walking around the outside corridor in the death star in shadow shard zone #3. While in detention I could walk but not be hurt.
I agree that people are getting too worked up about the whole "valid" thing. It was just a quick way of saying, "We'll look at the things we think are worth looking at." Geko wasn't trying to call anybody a liar, for heaven's sake, and those of you who are letting the EF donnybrook animate your outrage -- sheesh, let it go, already.
This said, it'd be wonderful if the devs to go through the issues list and comment briefly on each item, even if it's just to flag it works-as-designed or will-not-fix.
[ QUOTE ]
Bug: Hurricane, when used to push an enemy who is under the effects of a hold by another player, sometimes pulls or pushes the enemy in a different direction than intended. (Theory: Hurricane repels enemies Immobilized by another player as if that other player (caster of the Immob) were the origin of the Hurricane.)
[/ QUOTE ]
I have a Mind/FF at 50, who spent over half the way there accompanying a Broad/Regen and an Ice/Emp. I've found that whenever a target is held, my Telekinesis (a power which pushes things away from me, picking more up as the anchor floats along) will cause them to float AT me instead of away. It only affects held or immobilized foes, however, leading me to believe that it's a math thing to do with the internal numbers. (My theory -- Hold or Immob means that some movement value is set to a permanent 0 for the duration, and TK attempts to subtract or add to the value in a certain direction... the overlapping effects cause a negative trajectory value, and sends the foe my way.)
This is probably what's happening with Hurricane.
(P.S. I just realized that for whatever reason, this does not occur to my Controller if HE is the one who holds the villains first. Only when someone else adds their holds in do they start sliding towards my TK.)

[/ QUOTE ]
Because although the thread rightly says "issues," it seems "bug" and "issue" are being used interchangeably in a few instances.
I don't really see a whole lot of it happening in this particular thread, but I guess I just have some leftover pet peeves from other games where forum "bug lists" become either wishlists ("u should give us a nuke!") or venting grounds ("my class is so weak compared to them. is this a bug?"), and it's been my experience that buglists that get swamped with non-technical issues tend to degenerate quickly into 20+ page monsters of arguing over things like, say, whether Vigilance is teh_suck. Which is, in my experience, the quickest way to get the devs to stop paying attention to it. =)
My apologies if it sounded like I was saying that non-bug issues didn't belong in this thread.
