For the New People at Hamidon PLEASE READ

Last night there seemed to be a lot of new people at the raid unnaccustomed to what was or what wasn't allowed. There are some things to keep in mind to get this done as fast as possible and to reduce the horrible lag. Just to clear things up let's a basic outline.

Since there is usually a whole buch of heroes in one zone in one location YOU WILL HAVE INESCAPABLE LAG!! At times is can be unbearable where you type something and it doesn't show up til 30 seconds later, or you activatea power but it doesn't look like it goes off, you've been trying to move forward but keep being brought back 10 spaces, or you can't move period.

Please stay off the request channel since the raid leaders are giving commands on that channel.

First off, notes on how to cut some lag.

Turn down your graphics option in options along with names etc. This helps lag for you but not everyone on a whole.

To reduce graphics lag on a whole, DO NOT use powers that aren't necessary. That means stealth, epic powers like temp invul, mind over body, superspeed, nightfall, any form of force field, etc. Powers that have graphical animations but which you really do not need to have on.

No pets in the mold until vanguards have been called unless they are singularities or dark servants during the hold process.

Having a raid costume.
Some people reccomend not having any cosutmes that have capes or auras for the same reason we condone unecessary powers being on.

And now back to our featured presentation!!

STEP 1: Clear monsters around Hamidon.
STEP 2: Kill mitos.
STEP 3: Hold Phase.
STEP 4: Beating on jello.
STEP 5: Jewelry auction. LET THE TRADING BEGIN!

Once there are enough people gathered around the rock formation south of hamidon...

STEP 1: Clearing monsters around Hami.
Pretty self exclamatory. While this is happened the PA team get's their decoys to take hamidon's and mitos wrath/clear monsters to keep everyone else alive. God bless you!

STEP 2: Kill mitos.
When the surrounding monster threat is neutralized everyone charges as group towards the mold. Healers usually have their heal on auto. That was there is a steading stream of heals for the damage done by mitos shooting. It's at this stage you see many people go splat. Dark Defenders with howling twightlight are VERY WELCOME HERE. For this there is usually a group targeter and air targeter so people know which mito to target.

STEP 3: Hold phase.

IMPORTANT!!

Those who do not have a hold that mezzes (NO SLEEP NO IMMOBLIZE a REAL HOLD) MUST back up OUT of the mold so the holders can more effectively do their job. Radiation users and kinetics users are welcome since accelerated metabolism and speed boost helps increase the attack rate of the holders so the holds can stack more effectively.

**NOTES**
Radiation infection on Hami is allowed since it makes it easier for holders to land a hold without missing.

Enervating field at this point is NOT necessary. If Hamidon loses hitpoints too rapidaly before being held he spawns "yellow death" aka a buttload of Mitochondria Electrolytes that immeditely kills EVERYONE within range.

Heals are not necessary at this stage. To cut lag PLEASE NO heal spamming at this point unless they are from dark servants which help hold.

There should be no pets out that do not contribute to holds. NO IMPS NO ANIMATED STONE NO JACK FROSTS

ABSOLUTELY NO ONE SHOULD BE ATTACKING HAMIDON ESPECIALLY NEAR THE HOLDERS!!!

People who are slotted well enough in invulnerability or regen are encouraged to stand in a group off to the side auto taunting Hami to geep Hami busy.

STEP 4: Attack phase.

When Hamidon is definitely held someone will call to ATTACK! Holders must keep holding. Accelerated metabolism should be on full auto. Kinetics speed boosting holders. Enervating field can be used to boost attack damage.

When Hamidon has lost half of his hitpoints activate your accolade vanguard to ensure hamidon does not break free flex his gelatinous muscle.

Then arsekickery, mind destroying broadcasts, and lag continue till he falls. It is at this point people are encouraged to attack their one time to get hamidon credit enough to get the ehancement and then sit back beyong the mold border to reduce lag yet again.

STEP 5: YAY HE'S DEAD!! I CAN MOVE AGAIN!!
Most people like to annouce what they have gotten on braodcast to trade for what they are looking for. There is however a channel called HO R US that was created in hopes of reducing the braodcasts. There is also the channel jello shooters for hamidon related discussion although it is more flexible on regular chat compared to other channels on protector.

Congratulations you have been to lag city. Be sure to either die and go to the hospital in founders falls before the hamidon bud follows you or kill the stinkin mini jello for a little treat of a single origin enhancement above lvl 50.

If you happen to see someone doing something unproductive towards the general good. Kindly send them a tell and if that doesn't work call them out on the jello shooters channel or braodcast. All out fights on broadcast happen but are discouraged. And if all hope fails there is the /ignore place users name here command which some people swear be and some almost undoubtably didn't use until comig to a raid.

Another helpful solution is setting up tabs on you chat window. Right click on the top or bottom chat window and add your desired tab. Like someone but I can't remember off the top of my head suggested one for tells so they don't get lost is the clutter that is the hami raid gibberish.

Hope this helps

GOD PLEASE GET NEW HIGH LEVELS TO READ THIS FOR THE SAKE OF PIE!!!!

Not to say that wasn't a really good post Mini but I always understood that Jack Frosts were holding pets, as well as dmging pets. <shrugs> ok I'm done lol

Frosts are debatable since they have added animations now. Just to be on the safe side, nice to have them after the hold phase.

Well written Mini...Kudos to you!

I like your post Mini, but frankly, the people who come to the Protector boards are the players who have no issues with how to do Hami (for the most part).

While keeping this info in the front view for the forum goers who are new to Hami is a good idea there will (depressingly) always be a need for spamming the instructions and hoping someone gets through to the newer players that the veterans really DO know what they're doing.

Mostly true, however, I use rattle's strategy when tanking hami. I use a ranged attack to supplement my confront. It helps the aggro stick to me and means that griefers or the inexperienced have a much harder time taking hami's aggro away.

Also, just because you're tuanting hami doesn't mean you're holding his aggro. I've seen people standing away (or under if DX and I are hover taunting) try to claim they have aggro.

I like it!! Props go to the Medic of diminished stature!!

In any case, we ought to start making broadcasts about this post a few minutes before each raid begins...something like 'If you've never been to a raid before, go read this post on the forums, then come back. Otherwise we'll send Sapphire Gypsy's mito after you.'

So, um, yeah. That's all I had. Whee!!!!!!

Because PUGs are an option for the trials, they should be mandatory.

didn't read the whole thing, but if you're a tank, even if you have a hold, don't use it.
it generates agro.

LOL medic of diminished stature? Maybe you me diminutive.

To diminish implies I had something to diminish from. If I could shrink down even smaller that would sooo rock!!! Can I be cog size? Weee that would be so much fun, imagine the time it would take to travel. I wonder if that would be an adavantage in pvp If so, I'd let hamidon smack me around and call me his bizitch anytime just so I could be mini-er.

Very true. I remember seeing DX stand away hovering I'd see his health going down then I'd go over to heal then I got shot down. It was then I realized what he was doing, heheh. Lesson learned. Yup he sure had aggro at em

Well, if this post gets enough views to see a visible impact on the raids I'll revise it. I sat down thinking I would make a short outline and ended up adding more and more to it.
Any further comments are welcome.

ANYTHING TO MAKE THESE THINGS GO FASTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For the love of pie, cake, cookies, ice cream and all that is HOLY!!!

Actually Mini, I just assumed that you started out normal height, but after 50 levels of using your rad powers you discovered an unfortunate side effect.

Although being able to shrink oneself would be cool. Travel would suck, but just imagine the dancing speed!!!

Tanker Holds lead to Punchvoke. Punchvoke leads to Aggro. Aggro leads to the Debt Side.

Well if I ever manage to get to a Hammi Raid, this guide will definitely help. An excellent post that should definitely be linked at the begining of a raid.

Is there any way the leaders could please specify, before and during the hold phase, that tank holds are not needed?

I've seen multiple tanks in with controllers stating I've got holds too. Props to you, thanks but they're not needed, especially with the risk.
I generally try to keep an eye out for people attacking, or doing things that aren't "to be done" during the hold phase, and some people just don't realize that with 7-10 AM's on you, and you casting your "hold" aka.. punchvoke, it is possible to overcome a scrappers taunt.
Don't get me wrong, I love my fellow tanks, but come on guys, let the controllers/defenders do their thing and stand back.

*edit*
props mini for this. gj

actually i take spoon into the hive.

mass res and hold/pets mainly.
I let others do the "dirty" work. :P

Just another thought to.

I try to keep a good eye for people attacking during hold. I've found personally, that sending them a polite tell will get them to stop, most of the time.

Until they yell and scream at you how theyre one single target immobilize is detrimental to the success of the raid, and that if u you dont stop "harassing" them they are going to send a petition.
