Those Who Kill and Those Who Dont (Open RP)
((Sorry, was away for the weekend. Why exactly is Ma shooting up the bar? Especially with innocents inside?))
((Long story short, Sibling, Wolfe Gunner and MaDeuce head to the bar, Wolfe Gunner "empties" the bar in his own special fashion and then the Council attacks. There's more to this, of course, but you'll have to go through the Posts to get all the specifics, too many to list here. Hope that helps!))

Wolfe turned and fired at an approaching Warwolf, his five wolves circling around him, protecting their master.
"Damn monsters." Wolfe said, aiming and taking another shot at his Warwolf attackers. All around him, he saw other Heroes, even the wolf-man, holding off the Council's Hoverbots and Warwolves. "Only the Council would be able to stand such disgusting allies." Wolfe cursed, aiming at another Warwolf.
Meanwhile, in a Restaurant across the street from the bar...
"Put the girl down..." Master Blaster said in a low, commanding tone, his arm raised towards the man in front of him. Next to him, Mindy Reader and Sir Tankalot kept their eyes on the man in front of them, his eyes blood-red and the insignia of the Council on his forehead as he held the young woman in one of the many tentacles sprouting out of his back.
The Heroes wouldn't have believed it if they hadn't seen it themselves; one moment, the team had been happily taking a break from their "jobs", eating at their favorite restaurant. The next minute, this man, who had been calmly eating his meal, transformed into this... creature... and snapped the necks of the five customers in the store, along with the only two employees that were working at the time, before the Heroes even had a chance to react to the situation.
Normally, Master Blaster would have taken the guy out by now, but he was using the young woman as a human shield.
"I won't say it again!" Master Blaster said, energy building up in the palm of his hand.
"Don't!" The young woman choked out, barely able to speak. "Don't! He's my father!"
A silence descended on the Heroes, and Master Blaster's expression changed from anger to utter confusion. The situation, for him at least, had just changed incredibly.
I don't know just how powerful this guy is... Mindy said telepathically to Master. But even I should be able to hold him in place, if only for a second.
More than enough time... Master thought. Mindy turned to Sir Tankalot.
Can you get over there and get the girl out of his arms in that amount of time? She asked. Sir Tankalot nodded. OK, wait for my signal.
There was a silence in the small restaurant, save for the cries of the man's daughter. Then...
NOW!!! Mindy yelled, and a pinkish aura covered the Sleeper Agent as Sir Tankalot rushed forward, snatching the girl from the man's arms. Master leapt to the side and fired a blast, making sure it was only strong enough to knock the man out. The blast hit the man square in the face.
Wait! Mindy yelled telepathically, even her telepathic voice filled with fear. Don't do that! He's triggered to-
It was too late. The instant the man was knocked unconscious, the self-destruct sequence activated IMMEDIATELY. The explosion was large enough and powerful enough to immediately kill the man, the girl, and the three Heroes instantly. It also caused the entire building to topple over, something that wasn't missed by the Heroes fighting the Council Hoverbots and Warwolves in the bar across the street.
Wolfe Gunner heard the explosion and turned in time to see the building topple. "What the...?!"
"Wonderful." Requiem chuckled, watching his minions on a monitor giving live feed via an illegal Council Satellite Imaging Program."I know Heroes far too well to allow THAT to work; even if my Sleeper Agents are knocked out, their self-destruct sequence will destroy everyone in the area right away. No countdown, no signal, no delay of any kind. You can't knock them out, you can't reverse the process, all you can do is kill them. It's flawless." Requiem's chuckle became maniacal laughter. "Can you do it, Heroes? Can you throw your ridiculous morales to the wayside, kill the parents, siblings and children of the city you serve and protect? Or do you let them live, come after me, and allow my Sleeper Agents to kill as they desire in your abscence, innumerable innocent lives that YOU will be responsible for?" Requiem smiled an evil, twisted smile. "Now is the time for your greatest test of character, Heroes. The choice is yours; all I have to do is sit back and watch the show." Requiem's maniacal laughter echoed throughout the halls of the Council base, seeming to go on for an eternity.

Patchworks was jumping down the street. It felt good to be flying high through the air as his feet left the ground in a powerful thrust of energy.
"Please, just take it. Don't hurt me..." a voice called from a nearby alleyway.
Oooh, anoter baddee try to hurt de nice ladees Patchy thought to himself. He landed on top of a nearby roof and peered down into the alleyway where a group of Hellions were mugging a little old lady. Before Patch could do anything, however, the little old lady's eyes glowed a crimson red and she lashed out catching the leader by the throat. A quick twist later and her blood soaked hand came away as the Hellion dropped like a sack of grain to the pavement.
The other Hellions tried to scatter but they weren't nearly fast enough to escape the vampiric grandma. Patch noticed a glowing insignia on her forehead but was unsure of what it meant. Was this another hero? She made quick work of the gang of muggers, the tables turned on them they cried and pleaded with her as they died one by one. She finished up then she caught sight of Patchworks looking down at her from the rooftop.
"Ahh, hello there," she snarled and leaped almost straight up 40 feet to land on the rooftop next to him. Patch already had his broadsword out as he looked at her confused.
"Hi Dere!" He replied.
She moved quickly towards him and as she did Patch brought the flat of his blade down squarely on her head. She went down hard. He gazed down at the now unconscious woman as the glowing symbol vanished from her forehead. Suddenly, the explosion caught Patchworks off guard, blowing him off the roof. He lay there for a second, his natural regeneration quickly overtaking the damage done to him. He sat up and looked up at the rooftop now a charred remain.
Ooops
Hmmm, I tink dat maybee Jonathan, he no wat to do. Patchworks thought as he gathered himself and jumped off towards Atlas Park and City Hall.
Fox looked at the toppled building as the last Warwolf went down. "What the hell was tha.!" He lloked aroung for some council robot or soilder who had launched a rocket at the building, even enhanced sensed couldn't find anything. "Anyone see what caused that?" He asked the group in general, I don't think the Council has ever tried sucide bombers, some other group then? He wished he could be more sure. He had a terrible thought, It could have been the band, they would d things like that to places that fired a mutant. He hoped someone had seen more than him.
"Anyone see what caused that?"
"No."
Fox turned to see a thin, black fog with two glowing red eyes approach him. As this figure drew nearer to Fox, the fog dissipated, and a man in a black and red costume materialized, the glowing eyes slightly concealed under a black hood and face mask. The breeze caused Professor Entropy's cape to billow behind him. "The explosion was caused by something inside. I saw a few heroes enter that building a little earlier. Wasn't that a restaraunt?"

"Yes, it is. Or at least it was,I was supposed to meet my brother and niece there, in an hour. Do any of you know what happened?" The man was tall, almost seven feet, and powerfully built, with orangish eyes that almost glowed and a spiked orange haircut, but he didnt dress like a hero. The assembled heroes thought he was just a casual passerby who had witnesses the fight and wanted to thank them.
"Thats what were trying to figure out now," said the man in black. "but don't worry citizen, we'll find out what happened, you should go home where its safe now."
This was the part of the job Embher always hated. Just because I dont wear tights or a mask, they think im some normal Joe Schmuck "Listen, Im a hero to!" screamed the large man. As his voice raised, so to did the tempurature in the room, his hair started to wave, as though there were a breeze, small flames danced along his skin.
Realizing that the newcomer was a hot head with the ability to manipulate flames, MaDeuce stepped in. "Calm down, we're all good guys here, lets act like it. You said you were going to meet your brother, right?"
"Yeah, my brother-in-law actually, and my niece."
Fox stepped up, or as close as he could without the wolves growling at him."Lets go get the little girl then, see if anyone needs help," he slapped Embher on the back and immediately regretted doing it. OW, that burned, , thought Fox

Jonathan Saint John Smythe looked up as Patchworks lumbered into the room, "Hello Patch, what can I do for you?"
"Hi Dere!" Patchworks replied, "I try to save dis ladee but den she git de glowing eyes and den she beet up som Hellyons and den she jump up and com to beet me up and so I kinda hit her on de hed and den she blow up so I com heer to see if dats normal"
Jonathan looked up sharply, "This woman was a citizen of Paragon?"
"Yar, she look like dat Fortune Teller dat Azuria send me to save dat won time, sept she not her she a diffrent ladee but she was look like dat"
"She was an Elderly woman you mean?"
"Yar!" Patchworks nodded.
"So she suddenly changed and attacked some gang members then tried to attack you as well?"
"Yar!" Patchworks continued nodding.
"Did you hurt her when you hit her with your sword?"
"No I hit her soft like dis," Patchworks pulled his sword and proceeded to hit Jonathan on the head with the flat of the blade.
"Ow!" Jonathan cried out, rubbing the top of his head, "That did hurt, but I see what you mean. You knocked her unconscious, right Patch?"
"Yar!" Patchworks bobbed his head up and down emphatically. "but den de glowy ting on her hed dat disa....dissap...it go bye bye and den she go BOOM!"
"Hmmm," Jonathan mused, "I'll have to make some calls. Patch I want you to take this transmitter with you and I want you to call me if you see anything strange or unusual that you aren't used to seeing when you go back out on patrol. Be careful, this sounds like it might be a new threat and until we find out what's going on I'm not sure what to expect."

-As the other heroes headed for the newest explosion, Bloodfang slid into the shadows. Something wasn't right. He dialed in the police band on his helm's reciever, and was overwhelmed by the number of calls coming in. From 'minor' murder sprees by ordinary citizens that transformed into killing machines to building leveling explosions triggered by exploding villians, the whole city was in chaos.
-"By the blood, what the hell is going on?" he mused to himself. He thought back to the earlier fight. The one where his initial prey had been taken by another. there had been a note...he dug it back out of his armor, where he had tucked it away...read it...and his jaw dropped....
-"To hell with what time it is....was gonna have to test the charms of the armor sooner or later anyways" he thought as he ran out into the street. Invoking the incantation of flight, he lept into the air, heading strait for the M.A.G.I. offices in Atlas. They needed to know what the note said, and no one was going to believe him unless they read it first hand.
-His armor dulled slightly as he crossed into the daylight, but he felt no ill effects. Someday he was going to have to find out if all those myths about Vampires were true or not, but so far hadn't been willing to risk his un-life to do so. No, better to trust in his armor, let the scholars unravel fact from fiction.
-His blood was boiling. Killing those who preyed upon the innocent was one thing. Turning the innocent into killers was another. The Council had started a war, with innocent people as thier newest soldiers, and they would pay.
-As he cruised along, he passed over a comotion in the streets. It looked like an accident. A school bus had been hit by a squad car. Except the police officer was tearing apart the bus. the driver was dead, and the cop was climbing into the bus. "Oh no you don't...innocent or not , your not hurting those kids!" Bloodfang slowed to a hover about 50 feet above the bus, spoke the runes of summoning, and the police officer appeared in the air beside him. "Gotcha!" 'Fang said as he skewered the man...and was blown backwards by the resulting explosion. "That was unexpected" he thought. He hurt. Bad. His armor had saved him, but just barely. He chuckled..."gonna need another cape", then his blood ran colder than normal. The note he was taking to M.A.G.I. was almost completey destroyed. "Better get whats left over there, before anything else happens to it".
-He made a quick stop at the Hero Registration office, to get the number for Wolffe Gunner, one of the hero's from earlier. Those folks were heading into the thick of things, and needed to know. he would call him as soonas he was done.
-Dropping the note off at M.A.G.I., he quickly explained what he had read and seen, and left. "Quinn!" someone shouted from behind him. he turned to see his friend Psych Nurse heading for him. "Youv'e looked better" she chuckled, and eveloped him in healing waves of energy. He breifed her quickly, telling her to let the other Offices know, and headed for the door. Time to make that phone call....
((Unknown hero, its your plot twist. you decide what was on the note, and what survived the explosion...and if you take call or let it go to voicemail...Psych Nurse will talk to her contact at Atlas, but won't be believed unless the MAGI people follow up.))
((OK, just to be clear, actually KILLING a Sleeper Agent WON'T cause them to self-destruct; it's only when they're knocked out or someone tries to tamper with the Council's magic and/or technology on the Sleeper Agents that they self-destruct. The only exception is the Kamikaze Sleeper Agents, who just self-destruct automatically))
Azura quickly responded once she heard about the urgent matter at M.A.G.I.
"I sense a disturbance all around us; what's going on?" Azura asked. She noticed several other M.A.G.I. officials pondering over a note.
"Let's see..." Azura said, looking over the note. It was stained brown from being half-burned, but the first part of the note was legible enough to read.
The time for the Council has arrived! My plan is foolproof, but there is one last thing I need you to do: Go to the City Hall quickly and stealthfully, making sure no Heroes see you. City Hall keeps records of everyone who's been-
"It would have been alot nicer if the rest of the note hadn't been destroyed..." One of the M.A.G.I. officials said.
Azura pondered the note. "Maybe we don't need the rest of the note..."
Wolfe Gunner was approaching the demolished buidling when his cell phone went off. His wolves were already digging through the wreckage.
"What is it? I'm busy right now, so talk!" Wolfe yelled into his phone.
"...throughout the city. Our correspondents went to City Hall for comments, but so far have - OH MY GOD! WHAT IS THAT-!" The feed on the camera was cut, causing static to show on all the T.V.'s that were tuned into the local news.
"Geez, these gimmicks are getting more and more ridiculous everyday." Jim said, taking another chug of beer. "Honey, I thought you said we were going to move out soon!"
A large crash behind him caused Jim to turn around, seeing his wife, several times larger and more muscular, eyeing her husband with red eyes, the insignia of the Council on her forehead.
Jim stood speechless for a moment, then sighed. "I want a divorce." His wife leapt into the room, grabbed Jim by the neck, and snapped it like a twig.

Stepping out onto the wreckage of the ruined building, Rock-Hopper could only look around in shock. He had seen devastation before, like in Boomtown or Fautline, but it had never really dawned on him that the buildings there had been complete, proper structures. A sharp cry of pain caught his attention. He turned and saw a blackened and blistered arm struggling to push the rubble off of a still-buried body.
Rushing over to help, he threw off the larger chunks of wall and ceiling until finally reaching a young woman. Blood was oozing from charred, cracked skin. She was far too badly injured to possibly survive, but the penguin picked her gently out of the rubble, hoping against hope to bring her to safety.
He could hear from her chest the gurgling of blood from her burnt lungs as she breathed, but she smiled at him briefly, and rasped, "Thank you." She convulsed into a flurry of coughs, blood flecking her burnt lips. Finally, she collapsed unconscious.
Leaving her at the roadside for the ambulance to recover, Rock-hopper knew that she would likely not last the ride to the hospital. Blood and dust now covering his costume, he gently squeezed her small hand and stood, looking about.
The streets were becoming chaotic, with sirens blaring from everywhere as emergency workers raced to help the victims of attacks. From behind him, Rock-Hopper felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned to see who was there, only to find a massive fist flying towards his head. A massive THING, dressed in the tatters of a paramedic's uniform launched an attack from behind him, and without time to react, Rock-hopper was unable to raise his armor to defend against the attack.
Sent flying, Rock-hopper flew across the street into the side of a building. Standing, he took the chance to coat himself with Ice, summoned his mallet, and turned to the creature that had attacked him.
"It's on now, mate."
My story arcs: #2370- Noah Reborn, #18672- The Clockwork War, #31490- Easy Money
Sartre once said, "Hell is other people." What does that make an MMO?
There was silence, and then a sharp crackle. Something tore through what was left of the "paramedic", Spraying a fine mist of black speckled blood against the side of the ambulance.
A dark, blue and black helmeted figure materialized 30 feet away from Rock-Hopper and the fallen abomination. He carried a potent-looking assault rifle and had several devices strapped around his belt, as well as some in his flack jacket. Two bandoliers created an X across his chest and back.
"Gotcha covered pal." Night Shrike said, jogging up and past the fallen corpse. "Trained with some guys from 'same place as you. They were good guys."
Rock-Hopper only had time for his eyes to widen as the thing his new ally had downed grabbed Night Shrike's leg and pulled him struggling to the ground.
Fox Soilder rubbed his burnt hand and preceded to recovered his knife from the Warwolf's neck and cleaned all three on the downed beasts fur. The Gunner had wiped out all of them, even the one he had stunned. He looked at the newer comer and the reality of what he said set in as his adrenline went down. He had lost faimly in the explosion, he had seen things like this happen, back in his life before he was a hero, but he had never realy seen it. He walked over to the ruins and avioded the wolves busily digging. He went into a light trance and using somewhat heightened sense sniffed the rubble, he didn't have to get close.
He didn't have the sensory skills of dogs or realy any animal that was ment for it, but he could distingish the smells. And as a general rule all explosion smelt the same, but they had a slight difference depending on what set them off. He concentrated on that smell till it was sumitted to memory, maybe he could find out what had caused it.
Then he heard a loud thumps and "It's on now, mate." and made a quick turn to see the monster.
"Holy..." He was cut off as another hero took it down. For a second he felt relived that he didn't have to fight it, then it grabbed the new hero's leg. It pulled itself up, Fox reacted. He kicked the thing in the face, it looked at him as if nothing had happened and then used the other hero as a crude club and sent them both flying. His soilderness took over and as soon as he stopped rolling he had a knife ready to throw, it hit the beast in the leg, hoping to slow it down, but the blade barely went in, a single step and it was dislodged.
(OOC Note: I forgive you for writing for my character this time.)
Night Shrike rarely took such a severe pounding as he was recieving now. He had just been tripped up in a heroic moment. He had just been used as a bludgeoning tool.
As he flew through the air, his body twisted so that he landed and slid along the gravel and rubble a few feet, crouched down and realizing that his rifle lied near the monster.
He was astouned to see that this other hero with the uncanny ability to throw knives was also already on his feet, and not only that, had hurled a knife at the grotesque thing.
Shrike reached for his belt and pulled out a wide area smoke grenade. This thing needed to be slowed until they could regroup. He threw the grenade, and it whizzed through the air to land at the thing's feet. There was a dull thump, and suddenly the whole area was filled with a dark haze, as if the sun had suddenly winked out.
"I suggest we create a more convenient environment for ourselves" Shrike shouted to the two other heroes who he knew must be nearby.
Kraven stalked down the hall of his Founders Falls apartment building and slowed before coming to a stop at his door. Reaching down into his shoe to grab his key he heard someone talking inside.
-"Oh yes, I've heard what those horrible people have been doing lately. It's simply awful!" Sonya said in a melodramatic tone"
-"It really is awful, that's why we at Citizens Rallying to Alter Paragon have vowed to chase these horrible vigilantes out of our great city. These so-called 'heroes' . . . "
Another one? That's the 3rd activist this week coming to our door asking for money! Kraven pushed the door open to see his beautiful girlfriend sitting down at the table with a man in a very cliche suit and tie. All pompous and self-righteous the man sat and preached to Sonya about the dangers of having so many Heroes in paragon. This kind of thing had stopped angering him a long time ago, now he just liked to toy with the fools. Fortunately he was dressed properly for the occassion today. It was rare that Kraven actually dressed like a Hero, cape billowing in the wind, but these guys always seemed to com around when he had. Today was different though. His jeans and black t-shirt would keep the idiot convinced that Kraven was not the very thing the man was fighting. Considering the way he was talking to Sonya, he assumed the man didn't know what she was either. Fool.
"Hi babe, what are you doing here?" he said from the behind the man's shoulder, scaring him literally off of the chair. The activist hadn't seen or heard Kraven enter.
"Oh, you're sister wasn't feeling well and she couldn't get a hold of you to come watch over her so she asked me."
"Is she alright?"
"She's fine, just her migraine's again. They seem to be pretty bad this time around though."
"That's strange, I've been having the same problem myself all day. My heads pounding like rap concert and no amount of aspirin will help" Kraven commented as he gave her a quick glance to signal her. A small glint in her eyes showed she was ready.
"I really don't understand it actually, it's just . . . " he dropped to his knees making sure he made his face show as much pain as possible. "AAAHHHHhhh, whats going on?!" He grabbed his head at the the temples and starting shaking and shivering. Suddenly Kraven stood up and threw out his arms as he let a piercing scream fill the small apartment. He started to channel energy through his hands and eyes to make them glow a brilliant blue and softly levitated himself up off the ground.
The man in the suit was petrified, convinced he was watching a monster being born he jumped to his feet and ran out the door leaving a trail of some sort of liquid dripping out of his pants along the way. Kraven and Sonya burst out laughing as soon as the man was clear of earshot and continued for quite a while.
"Man, that was the best one in a while" Kraven said after he regained his breath enough to talk, wiping the tears from his eyes.
"Heheh, yeah. Too bad he left such a mess" Sonya responded with a sigh, looking at the puddles along the floor. A door creaked in the back of the room and Kraven's older sister rolled herself out of her bedroom in the wheelchair that he hated. He had been there the night she was put in that chair, the night his journey as a hero started. Simply looking at the cursed thing tore at his heart. She used to be such a gifted runner
"Oh, crap I'm sorry Jenn. I forgot you were back there, we'll try to be quiet for you." But as he looked at her face he knew something was wrong. She wasn't suffering from her normal migraines, he could recognize those. This was different. Her head was hung low as she struggled to push wheel the chair towards him. Slowly, she lifted her head and stared at him.
"There's somethign wrong Kraven . . . I, I . . " Her eyes rolled back into her head and she crumpled up and fell forward to the ground. Kraven ran over to her and scooped her up. As soona as he touched her icey skin his suspicions were confirmed. A strange aura was permeating her skin, making Kravens tingle. He was not proficient in magic but with all the time's he had battled against Banished Pantheon and the Circle of Thorns he had come to be able to sense magic and even differentiate some spells. Fortunately this was one of those spells. Kraven closed his eyes and placed a hand on her forehead covering the faint symbol now glowing there, too dim to make out. As he concentrated on the very slight aura he could almost read it.
"This is not good."
"What isnt? Whats wrong?" Sonya asked quickly, now very obviously concerned.
"Somethings been done to her, some sort of spell. But it feels like her body is rejecting it. It's complex too, I'm not sure what it is but it feels like it's wound pretty tightly."
"Wound tightly, what do you mean?"
"I'm not sure, I'm not an expert. But it feels like . . . hmm. It feels like a really well made bomb. Cut the wrong wire and Boom! But like I said, I'm no expert, I'm just going by what I can feel. Come on, we need to get her to M.A.G.I." And with that he vanished teleporting himself out of the room with Jenn in his arms as he did it.
Sonya quickly locked the door, threw a rag onto the ground and scrubbed up what she could of the activists mess. As soon as she was finished she strapped her sword to her back and leapt out the window making her way, rooftop to rooftop, to Atlas Park.
Embher watched as the scene unfolded. He knew that the young woman pulled from the debris was his niece, he knew she would not make it, but he couldn't accept it. All the good things in life go from you so swiftly. But now was not the time to mourn, now was the time for action. "Get ready to burn you creep!" he yelled. With that Embher triggered his power. What the others had seen in the bar was but a spark compared to the flames that roiled along his body.As he leapt across the street, he noticed that someone had thrown a smoke grenade of somekind, he only hoped he didn't hit the wrong person when he landed.

The doors to the warehouse burst open, the Super Group "Final Justice" swarming in the building. The bodies of dozens of workers lay on the blood-stained ground of the warehouse, the smell overwhelming several of the younger members of the group.
"Captain Eagle, over here!" One of the members shouted to the leader of the Super Group.
Captain Eagle walked around the bodies littering the floor; he was no stranger to such sights. The member who had called him directed his attention to one man, half-naked and shaking in the corner, his body soaked in blood and several workers' bodies lying next to him, their throats ripped open.
"I... don't know how this happened..." The man stuttered; he was in shock. "I was working as normal and and and..." He made a weak motion to the bodies around him. "The next thing I know... they're all... they're all... oh God..."
As the man broke down and sobbed, Captain Eagle motioned to several of his teammates.
"Did I..." The man looked up to see a line of Heroes aiming the palms of their hands at the man. "What are you...?"
"I'm sorry." Captain Eagle said, taking one last look at the man. "May God have mercy on your soul."
Captain Eagle watched as his Heroes fired their fire, ice, and energy blasts at the man, killing him instantly. He sighed as he saw the man's charred body slump to the ground.
"That makes over 20 so far." Captain Eagle said, turning to his second-in-command, Lieutenant Hawk. "At least this one had reverted back, otherwise we might have lost some more of our members."
"Captain..." Lieuteant Hawk said, her tone a bit soft. "Don't you think what we're doing is a bit... harsh?"
"Lieutenant..." Captain Eagle sighed. "You weren't there during the Ritki War; you didn't see what I saw. We, who call ourselves Heroes..." He sighed, then regained his professional tone. "Sometimes it is necessary to do the most horrible things, turn a blind eye to everything you've been taught for your entire life, in order to preserve the greater good." He placed his hand on Lieutenant Hawk's shoulder. "You'll understand someday, when you're older."
"Captain Eagle!" One of the members of the Super Group yelled, running up to the Captain with a television in his hand. "You've got to see this!" He said, plugging the T.V. into an outlet in the warehouse.
Once the T.V. was on, the familiar annoying tone of a T.V. "Emergency Broadcast Test" was heard throughout the warehouse. But when the picture came into focus, the screen showed the Insignia of the Council on the screen.
"What are they doing, Captain?" Lieutenant Hawk asked.
Captain Hawk narrowed his eyes on the screen, cursing under his breath. "Preparing their demands."

Tick-Tok was making his way down the street, carryig 2 unconsious carnies behind him.
"Anything for you Madelein Casey..." Tick-Tok said with a dreamy sigh. He made his way down the street, occasionaly bonking the carnies on the head. When he rounded a corner, he saw something terrifying.
A little girl was standing there, covered in blood. Her eyes were shallow and she had a blank expression on her face. The bodies of civilians surrounded her.
"What the fu-" Tick-Tok began to say as the girl lunged at him. He rolled away in time, but the carnies were ripped to shreds. The blood flew everywhere.
"Want to play?" the girl giggled.
"AAAAAAIIIIIIIIEEEEE" Tick-Tok screamed as he began to run. He desperatly hoped someone would come help him.
((Wow, gone for almost two days and the thread launches. Sorry Tik-Tok you aint gettin help this thread, I am still at the building . BTW this remind anyone else of Dawn of the Dead? Thats the feel I am getting and I am gonna run with it, if thats not a good feel for it, just go another way with it. I dont mind.))
Blood Wolffe suddenly felt a a sharp pain in his brain and a screeching noise at the presence of Fox. The wolf in him did not like him, but he could see he was a hero and refused to let himself lose control like that. He just got a few feet away and the noise went away.
The giant man was wondering aimlessly through the smoke, swinging blind sometimes. Blood Wolffe charged up his energy into a bolt and fired at the man's head. It impacted and the man fell limp, head misshapen.
Blood Wolffe sniffed the air for a moment.
"Doesnt smell like any particular group. Its a civilian. There are more, alot more. All around us."
A bus sped by, swerving left and right before finally tipping over.
Some started to run to go help.
"NO! DON'T!"
They started coming out of the windows, some with pieces of glass in them, or limbs obviously broken. Then they changed, a few grew tentacles, three turned into behemoths like the one that just fell. One started running to the group of heroes.

"This is Andrea Mitchell reporting to you live, we are getting reports of riots breaking out on the streets of Paragon. Even the areas considered safest to citizens, such as Atlas Park and Galaxy City. It would seem that half the citizens have gone mad now attacking heroes, strangers, friends, even family members, and gangs. They will not, however, act against each other. Is this some strange new Vahzilok disease? A Circle spell? Only time will tell in this dark hour of our fair city."
"How was that Tom?"
"We lost the feed to the station." The camera man replied.
"SH--! Were you recording?"
"Yes...Oh god look out!"
Police in full riot gear were trying to hold back some of the mobs. Some were turning into monsters. Before one could an officer struck the head of an individual. He exploded, killing a few of the officers. They broke through the line and were now running for the news van.
"RUN!"
They got into the news van and took off at full speed. They could see people getting chased down, flipped over burning cars, and chaos everywhere. One man was sitting on his roof with a high powered rifle, shooting everyone who came near.
"Where are we gonna go?" Tom said
"We are getting out of Paragon City." She replied
"LOOK OUT!"
A red-eyed man jumped in front of the van covered in blood. Tom swerved but it was too late. The kamikaze detonated, flipping the now burning wreckege over. It slid for a few seconds on its original course and came to a sudden halt.
Fox Soilder felt the change in heat through his enhanced senses and yelled to the new hero "RUN!" He took off at a mad dash and then a bus feel over, then things got out. He was going to need more knives. He regrouped with the other heroes, as close to possible, more or less they were standing in what could pass as a spread out group. He pulled out his two remianing knives and looked at the smoke cloud and at the new arrivals. Why God, why did my life have to become a horror movie. He was standing infron of an electronic store and saw the news channels on the TV display.
"Reports of bombing continue in the greater Steel Canyon area..."
"We are standing here were Task Force Solidarity entered this biulding after reports of two employes going insane. They are one of five task forces organized just by positron and..." A huge explosion came from high up in the building and the feed went dead.
"Reports of the Night Watch causeing the blast have yet to be confirmed, when reached for comment Lance Corporal said 'Find someone else to bug, I have four men in the hospital, I don't have time for this.'
Also the Paragon Times bombing has.."
"We take you live to Statesman giving a breifing at city hall. The area is being secured by heroes and...wait Statesman is speaking."
"The situation of the..." The feed went dead as a council symbol went on the screen
In Atlas Park
"The situation of the bomings..." Statesman stopped as he say the light on the cameras go dead.
Synapse who was had been keeping his eye on the crowd asked "What just happened?" quietly so only Statesman could hear.
"Things are going to get worse." He said matter-of-factly, the Council symbols showed up on the news crew monitors, "Much worse, we need to organize the hero quickly, tell the rest of the Phalanx and tell them to get more Task Forces ready and hold them, we need more intell, get Manticore to lead at task force into council bases and have him find anything he can. You got that."
"Right." Synapse took off at superspeed to get things going. Over the crowd of reports was a muble that slowly died down till the only sound was Statesman drumming his index finger on the podeium.
Fox looked at the Council symbols and thought So this is what the apoclapse looks like. He turned back to the monstriousity, he didn't know what was going on, but he was going to fight to the end. An out of chatacter heroic thought of dieing trying.
(OOC Note: I just wanted to do a few news channels and I figured that Statesman would make an offical comment sooner or later so here he is waiting for the Council demands.
Also I don't know if Synapse is a super speeder, but I've always pictured him as one.)
Tick-Tok stopped and prayed for forgiveness. He quickly turned around and proceeded to electrocute the girl.
"sizzling!" Tick-Tok said as he kicked her to make sure she was dead.

Tick-Tok went through the wreckage of what used to be a tram. He saw a radio.
"Hello? is anyone there?" Tick-Tok said into it.
"I agree, but where do ye propose we should go?"
Rock-Hopper stood over the fallen soldier and offered his hand, easily helping the fallen hero to his feet. He looked at two heroes and to the cloud of smoke that was beginning to dissipate. He shook his head.
"Anywhere we go'll likely be the same mess as 'ere, mate. The bloke back there's built like a brick [censored] house, but I figure I can take him on long enough for you to get help from some of the others 'round 'ere. If not, then, well, I'll see ye at the hospital... I hope."
With that, the penguin-man turned back and jumped into the smoke cloud, armour and mallet at the ready. The muted thumps of something heavy hitting flesh could be heard again and again as the battle between the two giants began.

Sartre once said, "Hell is other people." What does that make an MMO?
Embher landed just outside the smoke cloud, just as he heard the man with the knives yell to run. He turned and saw what could only be described as hell on earth. To his right were the ruins of the council attack, to his left, the destroyed restaraunt, and in front of him, he saw a man dressed as a penguin leap into the cloud. Dont know what I should do here, but theres a big ugly guy in there, and the penguin may need help, hope he can withstand my heat alot better than ugly there. With that thought, he spread his arms apart and growled, he could feel the heat building inside him, seeking a relese. He always hated this, but it helped him fight. He was literally burning, his internal body temperature reachin approx. 500 degrees farenheit,. Now alll primed and ready to go, he leapt in, hearing thumps as the two titans battled.
Willpower has more passive regen than Regen does. Who thought that was a good idea?
Can we get a fix for Energy Melee instead of more new sets?
The knife in Foxes hand flipped so he holding by the blade and ready to throw at the gunner. Then he caught up with what was going on and fell out of the trance he was in, his enhanced senses gone with it. He smiled weakly, "No problem." There was a breif calm, he normaly won't waste this, but he had to know. "Wolf curse?" The gunner didn't have a chance to answer, Warwolves were coming in a small pack. He didn't know much about the creatures, but all he needed to know was that they weren't human anymore, he hoped.
He didn't go into a full trance, his senses weren't as sharp, but he shouldn't need to go all out. He flicked the knife through the air and into the leading Warwolf's neck. As it collapsed all the others caught his scent and charged. He drew a knife in each hand and took the first head on. He ducked under a swipe and planted the blade in the it's neck, they may not be humans, but he was determined to kill them as quickly as possible and granted this wasn't very fast. The second was taken down by a swift kick followed up by a bone cracking punch, the creature was out cold. He turned to the remainer, they wanted to kill him, but were afriad for thier own lives, he thought grimly There is still something human left in them. He waited for the boldest to make it's move and enjoyed the brief break in the fight. His knuckles felt like they were on fire.
