Decapitating blue_saviour with his katana, a fine red mist spattering the wall, Grey Wind looks down at blue's startled visage and chuckles.

"SH-T" Shrike grated within his helmet as he saw his gleaming bullet leave a trail which blew through Requiem's midsection. "One more chance..."
Davis took the other bullet and started to load it into the chamber, when suddenly a black tentacle extended almost across the room towards him from Requiem's back, wrapping around Davis' body.
The pain was excruciating. The fluid surrounding the tentacle made a hissing noise as it first corroded his suit and then began on his skin...his bullet had fallen to the ground beside him.
"Fox", Shrike wheezed as he struggled to keep from passing out, "help..me." -
Shrike knew what he had to do. As Rock Hopper sent a flurry of blows at Requiem to keep him off balance, Shrike aimed his rifle at Requiem's midsection.
"This must end", Shrike whispered to himself, still caught up in sorrow of memories he had kept deeply buried.
Shrike pulled the trigger. -
Shrike placed a hand quickly on Fox's shoulder. "I order you, from now on, to make choices for yourself."
With that, he dove behind a nearby machine and closed his eyes. "Nicole", he whispered under his breath, "One day you told me I could call upon you...that time is now. Give me strength". Shrike waited.........
and felt nothing.
He opened his eyes. In his open palm were two gleaming white bullets engraved with luminescent runes.
A tear slid down Night Shrike's face within his helmet, and he opened the chamber in his rifle. The bullets loaded, he peeked around the corner at the ensuing battle. -
Night Shrike and his CnC are complicated...but basically their funding comes from two sources: an individual and a large Paragon City corporation(no, not crey)
-
(OOC: Night Shrike, without giving too much away, was once special forces for a high-ranking military organization. He somewhat despises those still involved in that type of thing after all he has seen and done, and doesn't particularly care for these people right off the bat. He's trying, though.)
-
Night Shrike grinned from beneath his helmet.
"I suppose you'd be rather embarassed if I decided to activate the four mines placed around the area you're standing in," Night Shrike said sardonically, "so we'd better be friends. We all need to become a team here. Trust me, if I thought different, i'd be the first guy outta here...no offense, I like to go it solo."
Shrike could see he wasn't being as pleasant as people liked him to be. He moved towards Lieutenant Hawk and offered her a handshake. "Night Shrike. Pleased to meet you, ma'am. We're headed for my CnC, gona snag a quicker form 'o transportation. Comin for a ride?" -
Night Shrike kept up a quick pace as Fox caught up with him. "Uh. I pretty sure the sewers don't run out to international waters, so where are we going?" Fox asked.
"I've got a nice quick way back at my CNC. Hope you don't hate flyin'" Davis replied quickly.
Night Shrike continued to move in the direction of his home, picking his speed up to a jog. -
(OOC: if any villain had that kind of power, why wouldn't he just destroy paragon city?)
-
Night Shrike had remained silent up until this point. He had always found that observing before acting was the right way to behave in this kind of situation.
He was concerned. Davis didn't relish killing, hell no. But he wouldn't think twice about it if he thought it had to be done. Some of these other heroes were too soft. The penguin man ain't half bad, he thought to himself, 'although I woulda tagged the sonofabitch's other leg first, myself'.
Fox had asked if anyone had a faster way to get there. Davis knew a way.
'I know a way. Follow me.' Night Shrike said, and without looking back, he uncovered a manhole and dropped into the sewer, making for his base of operations. His helicopter was waiting. Davis had never been much for long-winded explinations. There was never time for that in their line of work. -
(OOC: er, the bus myseriously disappears. guess the police drones got to it? :P)
-
Davis nodded to Fox, and made his way over to the two other heroes in the vicinity.
"Night Shrike", Davis said to the larger hero who resembled a Penguin, offering his hand, then nodded to the man still on fire. "You boys put up a pretty good fight. This thing seems bigger than any of us can handle solo...What say we form up and haul [censored] over to those sirens" -
Fox's wide, inverted eyes saw footprints appearing on the dirt coming towards them, but with nobody making them.
Shrike had gotten his cloaking device functional again. He wanted the thing looking at him, so as he kicked off the ground and into the air, he de-activated the device.
Night Shrike became visible to the creature just as he left the ground. Flipping upside down and straightening his slowly rotating body, Shrike pointed his rifle down at the thing's head just as his eyes made contact with that of the creature's.
'It has no soul," Davis thought as his finger put full pressure on the trigger, "guess there'll be room inside there for this."
The creature's body exploded across the rubble and dirt, and Davis stepped over to his new friend and offered his hand.
"You gotta show me how to use knives like that." Shrike said through his helmet. "Night Shrike". -
Night Shrike rarely took such a severe pounding as he was recieving now. He had just been tripped up in a heroic moment. He had just been used as a bludgeoning tool.
As he flew through the air, his body twisted so that he landed and slid along the gravel and rubble a few feet, crouched down and realizing that his rifle lied near the monster.
He was astouned to see that this other hero with the uncanny ability to throw knives was also already on his feet, and not only that, had hurled a knife at the grotesque thing.
Shrike reached for his belt and pulled out a wide area smoke grenade. This thing needed to be slowed until they could regroup. He threw the grenade, and it whizzed through the air to land at the thing's feet. There was a dull thump, and suddenly the whole area was filled with a dark haze, as if the sun had suddenly winked out.
"I suggest we create a more convenient environment for ourselves" Shrike shouted to the two other heroes who he knew must be nearby. -
A fragment of Night Shrike's helmet spun wildly up into the air, higher, higher, higher. It whirled up until the air was so thin that it froze solid, what little moisture there was at that height frosting it and making it incredibly brittle.
It began to fall, whirling ever faster until it tapped the tail of a Boeing 747 airliner, shattering into a fine, sharp, still swifly falling mist of incredibly strong and now unthawing alloy.
Captain Neem was unlucky enough to be standing right under the deadly cloud, and as it fell around him, he also turned into a fine mist and became a fine pile on the ground -
There was silence, and then a sharp crackle. Something tore through what was left of the "paramedic", Spraying a fine mist of black speckled blood against the side of the ambulance.
A dark, blue and black helmeted figure materialized 30 feet away from Rock-Hopper and the fallen abomination. He carried a potent-looking assault rifle and had several devices strapped around his belt, as well as some in his flack jacket. Two bandoliers created an X across his chest and back.
"Gotcha covered pal." Night Shrike said, jogging up and past the fallen corpse. "Trained with some guys from 'same place as you. They were good guys."
Rock-Hopper only had time for his eyes to widen as the thing his new ally had downed grabbed Night Shrike's leg and pulled him struggling to the ground. -

It's been a long, long day.
I think I have to stop relyin so much on stealth. Don't know why, but animals know where I am no matter what I do. Cats, dogs, rats, all see through my cloaking device like I had reflectors on. Been keepin an eye on this situation right now to do with these two guys. Well, mainly two guys, although some lady with a rifle alot like mine and a few other heroes got involved later. They ain't important. It's these two, they're dangerous. One's got a nice lookin gun and a bunch of [censored] wolves following him around and listenin to his every command, the other one IS a wolf. Saw the wolfman tear apart this vampyri I been huntin, 'nother guy was followin 'im too but that happens all the time. What happens when some punk kid's stealin a purse and this wolfman freaks out on 'im?
Runs-with-wolves and the chick with the gun went to get a drink . What kinda hero drinks? I mean, I know I do, but sure as hell not when i'm on the job. I swear that wolfman guy sensed me for a second, but he was to preoccupied with that other crap goin on down in that alley.
Stayed to clean up the council mess they all left there afterwards. Too busy chattin. Two adjutants went down under a ghosted trip mine like nobody's business. heh.
Night's young. I hear the freakshow've been movin around alot near a place I been visitin to cool down, coulda swore I saw some of those punks sneakin around a corner....gona check it out tonight.
Enough writin, time to get a move on. Avengers Forever.
God, why do I still fill the need to say that. That's long gone.
Time for Night Shrike to live again. -
Night Shrike enters the desolate-looking place and carefully avoids the sea of caltrops populating the center of a nearby street.
Suddenly a portal opens nearby, and masses of hellions broil out behind a random and terrified looking hero.
'I know he'd sacrifice 'imself for the greater good" Shrike grated as he loaded an LRM and fired it towards the portal, detonating it in the mass of hellions + 1 hero
Shrike pulled out a black satin cloth and wiped the "leftovers" from his helmet -
Wicked. Hope I can find an appropriate spot to sneak in my RP favourite as well
keep an eye out for Night Shrike.

Just to prevent people from quoting me inaccurately...
Hamidon Enhancements boost either TWO aspects of a power by 50% or THREE aspects of a power by 30%.
If you battle in the Arena another hero in a weight class below you (weight classes are five level bands), you will be auto-exemplared to that weight class.
This also means that the effectiveness of your Enhancements are capped to the level of effectiveness of that weight classes' Enhancements. That means that your Hamidon Enhancement is considered at an S.O. or lower level, rather than +50%. You'll still have the advantage because two or three aspects are being boosted, but you won't have the overwhelming % advantage.
This, however, does not occur when fighting within your "weight" class. If you're in your weight class, Hamidon Enhancements are killer.

Thank you for clarifying that for us, statesSounds like a good system to me.

The stealth thing is just lame. So, not only do scrappers and tanks get to see stealthed people from a greater distance, but now the squishies that have stealth+ss will have no advantage at all. Why does the close ranged attacker need stealth visibility anyway? You'd think that the sniping blasters would get higher visibility.
[/ QUOTE ]
1) With super speed, the stealth bonus does not make you harder to see. Even if it was there, we could still see you so what difference would it make??
2) The reason melee has a longer view-range for stealth is because we need to close on a blaster to see it.
Example with your logic: ScrapperDude and BlasterGuy are both stealthed. ScrapperDude has a stealthview range of 100 ft, and BlasterGuy has a stealthview range of 150 ft. BlasterGuy stays 125 ft. away from ScrapperDude and snipes him. He flees..staying just out of ScrapperDude's stealthview range. His snipe recharges, he fires. Repeat.
Totally unfair.

Many blasters use superspeed in combination with stealth to have complete invisibility, not for the speed bonus. You seem to miss that concept. -

Posi, here's the problem with that idea of a run speed cap...
What about us perma-elude scrappers? Isn't one of the perks of elude the run and jump speed increase? It seems unfair that a scrapper running MoG or unstoppable still retains all of their "perks" such as endurance recovery for unstoppable, while elude scrappers now just have the raised defense and the nasty endurance crash. A big part of my being glad about being SR was having the ability to be quicker in combat...now anyone can mitigate that on me simply by placing on the speed cap :S

Problem??
You run Perma-Elude. Youre always fast, you dont have to run sprint.
They dont. They have to run sprint to be as fast as you.
Granted, sprint is only a minor END drain, but its one that you dont have to worry about, which is especially good since youre perma-elude.
This gives you an advantage, not a disadvantage.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't think you've ever seen a character who runs elude...
You just tried to tell me that somehow being dumbed down to sprint is fair because other players would have to run sprint.
I am almost at base superspeed with elude and sprint on. My point is that it negates part of our end-power in our defense set while it doesn't bother unstoppable or MoG at all as far as their bonuses go.
I can run at sprint speed WITHOUT elude on. You also didn't address the issue that it also will negate our jump boost. -

Nozy's replies were complete and utter crap.
A true gamer is one interested in playing a game as it is meant to be played. They aren't interested in levels, xp or tables. They want to play the game to have fun and play the game as it is meant to be played.
People who care about levels are the ones that suck at the game so much they have to cheat to advance.
If you like to level play the game instead of others get xp for you.
If you like to herd go to Perez or Faultline when you are level 30. No one will care if you herd thousands of gray mobs.

"True Gamer".
Give me a break. As someone has already stated in this thread, all you 1337 d00ds out there who are "true gamers" can suck a lemon. I've been playing video games for 16 years, and I don't need your BS about "True Gamers". Your constant cursing and repetitive replies have most likely invalidated you to everyone but those like you in this thread.
You've got alot of nerve to try and tell people how they should play the game they're paying for just like you. Get a grip pal, mind your own business, and go "true game".
One more added to my ignore list.
