The ULTIMATE Teleport Bind for Laggers
I think I must have things really messed up? I copied the binds over exactly and they worked fine. I added a "r" instead of a "l" to the first of each bind and now I have added a "r" to the second part of each file. Now all I get when I try to teleport is confusion??
When I try to use the r shift key it removes 3 windows and then pans me out - When I release it nothing changes. if I want to get back to normal mode I have hold down the key. When the r shift is NOT depressed is when I get the teleport features. oh and left clicking does not bring on a teleport.
If I try to use the left key (why would this one do anything anymore?) It removes all the windows/pans me out... but when I let up the key nothing goes back to normal. Instead of letting me just click to tp, I get the targeting circles. Im sorry to be such a pain but your binds worked so well with that lshift initially, i never imagined that it would be so hard toget it to work with another key? Thanks for all of your help so far.

You have binds left over from before. Do the each of the following commands inside of CoH (no need to use an external file):
<font class="small">Code:<hr /><pre>/bind lshift nop
/bind rshift nop
/bind lshift+lbutton nop
/bind rshift+lbutton nop
/bind shift+lbutton nop</pre><hr />
(That last one may be redundant, but it won't hurt anything.) And then reload your first file, and you should be good to go!

Worked like a charm!! Thanks! --- and I teleport off into the sunset!
Wow! That was quite the dilemma trixi. Sorry it gave you so much trouble. Thanks for the help guys.
Got two more problems, not serious ones, but would REALLY help me
Firstly, whats the name of the Tab 1 window? I have it open with the combat tab in it, and Id like it to be on the show hide list. (Can change it myself if I could find out the name, but my attempts have all failed sniff)
Secondly weird one for you
I have a chat box that is a top/bottom display with a resize bar, thats splits it into two in the middle. Top is broadcast et all, bottom is tells, sg etc.
When I invoke and release the bind, everything is fine. If I actually USE Shadowstep (Warshade TP) then the bar sets itself near the bottom of the box. Wierd huh
GREAT BIND *****
Thats a known problem...sounds like a bug to me.
If you drag the Chat tab down towards te bottom of the window, it will reset itself back to where it was before.
I no this may sound stupid but im bad with computers and i can't figure out how to make a new text file.
If you are running windows, any version older than 3.11, click start, go to all programs, accessories and then click on notepad. Notepad is a text editor. Don't use wordpad as it is a document editor. Notepad works with editing text, and wordpad works with editing documents. Hope that clears it up for you.

Ok, so the new bind should look like this:
[ QUOTE ]
<ul type="square">[*]Make 2 different text files[*]Put them wherever you put your binds[*]Copy the files the way I have them and then adjust them accordingly
c:\cohkeybinds\letharga\teleport_on.txt
[ QUOTE ]
lshift "+down$$vis_scale 1.0$$shadowvol 0$$ss 0$$camdist 12$$window_show chat$$window_show target$$window_show tray$$bind_load_file c:\cohkeybinds\letharga\teleport_off.txt"
shift+lbutton "powexec_name teleport"
[/ QUOTE ]
c:\cohkeybinds\letharga\teleport_off.txt
[ QUOTE ]
lshift "-down$$vis_scale 0.5$$shadowvol 2$$ss 2$$camdist 30$$window_hide chat$$window_hide target$$window_hide tray$$bind_load_file c:\cohkeybinds\letharga\teleport_on.txt"
shift+lbutton nop
[/ QUOTE ]
What this basically does is if you hold down the left shift button:
<ul type="square">[*]the camera pans out 30ft behind you[*]shadows are turned off[*]draw distance is reduced[*]chat, target, and power tray are hidden[*]best of all....wherever you click you teleport!!!
Letting go of the shift button sets everything back to normal. Let me know what you guys think.

Enjoy!

bump, great bind!!
Nice, and thanks.
I noticed that I had to change the file path not only of the bind_load_file statement in game but the txt files reference each other too so they must be changed as well. Seems pretty obvious now, but at the time I didn't see that they needed 'customization'.
Also, I tried camdist 300 instead of 30 and found it pretty hard to see where I was going(though the point about the ghetto fly was well received). That's another area where I imagine I'll need to play and find the best distance.
thanks again
Heh, tried that without luck. Or should I say without good luck.
My shift now behaves exactly opposite of what's expected. When let go of the lshift button then the windows go away. When I press it and hold it again they come back. Let go again and they go away.
Also I cannot teleport with the shift+lbutton when using the lshift. rshift will allow me to teleport with the lbutton.
Talk about weird.
do u have a ss and sj bind 4 laggers?

You may want to reset your binds. Also, make sure to load teleport_off.txt first. I've noticed the same thing happen if you load teleport_on.txt first. Sorry I wasn't more clear on that.
I suppose a bind could be made for super speeders and jumpers. I'll see what I can come up with.

Wow! Thanks!
I could use a little help.
I use Super Speed/Teleport for my Scrapper; I have SS always on as a general rule. I wanted SS to turn off while I'm holding the shift key so that it's not sucking up my end while I'm teleporting, so I added it to the binds using the powexec_toggleoff and powexec_toggleon commands like this:
c:\cohkeybinds\letharga\teleport_on.txt
lshift "+down$$powexec_toggleon Super Speed$$vis_scale 1.0$$shadowvol 0$$ss 0$$camdist 12$$window_show chat$$window_show target$$window_show tray$$bind_load_file c:\cohkeybinds\letharga\teleport_off.txt"
shift+lbutton "powexec_name teleport"
c:\cohkeybinds\letharga\teleport_off.txt
lshift "-down$$powexec_toggleoff Super Speed$$vis_scale 0.5$$shadowvol 2$$ss 2$$camdist 30$$window_hide chat$$window_hide target$$window_hide tray$$bind_load_file c:\cohkeybinds\letharga\teleport_on.txt"
shift+lbutton nop
The problem is that it seems not to be working properly; whether the toggleoff command is in the one or in the other, holding down the shift key seems to turn SS back ON - even though it already is on.
Anybody got any ideas if it's possible to fix this?
Easy installation notes since I just installed this on 3 computers.
1) Create directory c:\cohkeybinds
2) Create directory c:\cohkeybinds\letharga
3) run notepad.exe and copy then paste the following into it (this will be your master notepad window size it to small
*** start of copy
c:\cohkeybinds\letharga\teleport_on.txt
lshift "+down$$vis_scale 1.0$$shadowvol 0$$ss 0$$camdist 12$$window_show chat$$window_show target$$window_show tray$$bind_load_file c:\cohkeybinds\letharga\teleport_off.txt"
shift+lbutton "powexec_name teleport"
c:\cohkeybinds\letharga\teleport_off.txt
lshift "-down$$vis_scale 0.5$$shadowvol 2$$ss 2$$camdist 30$$window_hide chat$$window_hide target$$window_hide tray$$bind_load_file c:\cohkeybinds\letharga\teleport_on.txt"
shift+lbutton nop
*end of copy
4) from your master notepad copy only the command text for c:\cohkeybinds\letharga\teleport_on.txt from your master notepad window
5) run notepad.exe 2nd instance size it small to fit master and this together on screen
6) paste only the teleport_on.txt command text into this 2nd notepad
7) save second notepad as c:\cohkeybinds\letharga\teleport_on
8) from the master notepad copy only the command text for c:\cohkeybinds\letharga\teleport_off.txt
9) reusing the 2nd notepad select all then paste the command text from #8 making it the only text in the file
10) save the 2nd notepad as c:\cohkeybinds\letharga\teleport_off
11)Now copy this one line.
/bind_load_file c:\cohkeybinds\letharga\teleport_off.txt
12) Start up City of Heros
13) click into chat box
14) press control and v to paste the line you copied in 11
15) hit return.
16) Done... by cutting and pasting you should not get typo errors.
17) if you have problems to reset to no operation
/bind lshift nop
/bind rshift nop
/bind lshift+lbutton nop
/bind rshift+lbutton nop
/bind shift+lbutton nop
Im having trouble with this.
I bind only /bind_load_file c:\cohkeybinds\letharga\teleport_off.txt
I do not bind teleport_on.
When I log on it works great for both on and off.
Then it gets out of sync and reverses the showing of windows and mouse click teleport fails. I have teleport on key 1 and it also fails. I can only teleport by manually clicking on teleport icon in slot 1 and then chosing location... quite a pain.
Then sometimes when I swtich zones it works again... for a while then back to not working.
1) I bind Teleport_off first, do I use it once and then bind teleport on?
You should not have to bind teleport_on.txt for any reason, as the teleport_off.txt will do that for you.
I'm not really sure whats going on with your problem though..might be a conflict between this bind and somthing else you might be running.
I just used this ultimate and wonderful bind and it was fantastic but I have one question. My partner was watching the chat/combat window when I was using it and noticed that it says that the bind takes 2 arguments and I only supplied one. Since I copied and pasted exactly what was in the bind, I wonder what I did wrong. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,

If you could say exactly what the message that you get is, it would be helpful
I think the message you're getting is a little more specific, stating an actual command that needs the two paramaters.
:-) I'm sure but I'm at work. I was just hoping that someone would go "oh yeah, I did that too!"
I'll write it down tonight and post it.

Heh, sorry, I used to hang around a bunch of computer tech related boards and you wouldn't belive the number of people who posted stuff like "My computer doesn't work! Help me fix it please!" with no details
I'll try to swing by later and see if you've posted the specific message yet, and I'll see what I can do if you haven't been helped already

I would be happy if I could just switch it to the right shift key. Which I though would be simple enough but when I change the "l"s to "r"s it only transfers half of the bind to the right shift key. Where is my mistake? Thanks for the help!
[/ QUOTE ]
The second bind in the first file is
<font class="small">Code:<hr /><pre>shift+lbutton "powexec_name Teleport"</pre><hr />(meaning it will activate on either shift key). You need to change that - and the corresponding line in the second file - to "rshift+lbutton...."
