Reqruitment Plans (Open Villain RP)...
((i find it amusing how you refer to someone else's rp as 'this little subplot you've got going'. and no, I will not play along with this ridiculous farce. you can't write for other people's characters. let me say that again, with appropriate emphasis: You CANNOT write for other people's characters. It is also indecent to randomly introduce someone who can read everyone's mind or tell exactly what they're doing from hundreds of yards via a heartbeat monitor and who's invulnerable to attack as well as capable of paralyzing everyone else's character. so on the assumption that this was an honest mistake, I'm going to try a reasonable roleplaying solution. if that doesn't seem bearable, I'd be more than glad to leave the thread.))
Vance shook his head and clicked his tongue. As soon as the crazed man launched at Vance, unprovoked, he allowed the man to think Vance was still there, but actually stepped aside and watched as he pummeled open air. It had taken much more effort than he'd expected, so the attacker must have had some kind of mental protection, but Vance hadn't been improving his mental domination for thirty-seven years to be thwarted that easily.
Apparently the broadcast had blasted the inarticulate stranger as well, because he seemed to also think Vance was on the ground. Chuckling, Vance strolled fifteen feet down the hall to an alarm box and tripped the alarm.
This sudden change in the environment broke the illusion, but by the time the breakdancing guy pieced together what had happened, Vance had booked it to a nearby room and bolted the door behind him.
((OOC: I'm going to have to go with G4H on this. I don't mean this to sound like an attack on you personally, but Breakdance Kid sounds like a Mary Sue, which is something not appropriate for RP. A rule of thumb, for your hero and average villain, use only power combinations that can be done in game. If your character qualifies as an AV you can take more liberty with their powers, but keep in mind that they will still have to either loose or retreat. (This rule should only remain true until after details on powersets and archetypes for CoV is revealed.) On a related note, it doesn't matter what the full extent of Blind Guardian's powers are since he won't be in combat in any thread beyond what deals with his back story.
I appologize for the lecture. And I don't mean this personally. I don't want anyone to leave the thread unless they feel they must. That being said, if you don't tone down BDK, then I'm going to have to request that he not be allowed to stay in the RP. Also remember, this is a VILLAIN thread, as such, the main focus should ultimately be on the villains and any hero (or NPC for that matter) that shows up should be used mainly for the purpose of progressing the plot. or developing a certain character (Ghost and Haywire both serve(or served, as the case may be) this purpose well.).))
(OOC Note: I'm with Genius4hire on this too. And I've already told Genius4hire this, but I've never rped a fight before, but I read some of the whitmoore appertment and have a vague idea. Also Ghost actions to follow are based soley on his type of logic and he is in no way a health person, mental atleast so he's prone to makeing faulty conclussions. Just a warning.)
Ghost paniced when the alarms went off and then the pale man disappered. He got a rush of adreniline, but it was normal aderniline. Okay, he gave me this head band to block psychic powers, Id isn't talking to me, a man suddenly appers and then is gone, and now Id isn't working. Suddenly it hit, he tore the head band off and throw it away. Id hit him in a sudden rush, it all made since now, why he couldn't talk, why he was starting to feel sick, why the man had disappered, and why the other was so willing to help. "You knew the headband would block Id didn't you! You used my fears against me, you tricked me! You wanted to hand me over to the Ritki didn't you! Well let me educate you, I don't need a quarter of a second to kill someone."
He went out of phase with time, the world slowed, but he moved at the same speed. He could feel the psychic again, the band had hid him One step at a time. He kisked the prone man and then went further out of phase and ran for it, anyone who saw him would see a blur. He went down halls and corridors till he was lost. Opened a door and closed with out locking it. He sat in the corner and relaxed. He went back into pahse with time and let Id repair the damages to his body.
He looked aroung the room, looked like a lab of some sort. He shivered I hate labs. He thought glumly. Why? I'm not in the mood Id. Why coulddn't we hear us. I was tricked into wearing a headband that stops psychic powers from affecting me. The damage is bad, our liver was failing. How long? An hour if we don't phase.
All there was to do was wait, he could still feel the psychic, fuzzier, but he was there. Will he come after me? he thought quietly.
What?
(OOC Note: Yeah it's a bit wierd I know. But he has a stroy and a train of thought. He can be killed ofr anything else, but I will try and play him the way he would think. As for time phasing, if you every read Thief of Time, think history monks. And just so there is no confusion, he himself is not psychic, it's Id who is psychic. If he dies before any more of Id is reveled I will explain. The fuzziness of Vance is because of distance. I'll post for Trevor and Will later.)
Trevor looked around An alarm system, thats helpful. Will got up and was starting to leave. "Will leave it to Medb security team, if she can't take care of herself then i don't want to work with her." Trevor said in a tone that left no doubt that he would leave if Medb couldn't handle an intruder.
"She may expect us to handle it." Will pointed out.
"She has plenty of other people and Blind Gaurdian here is making us an offer, it wouldn't be polite to leave." Will sat down agian. Trevor looked at Disco. "If you want to leave I will fill you in later. If Blind Gaurdian Doesn't mind." It was an afterthought, but Trevor made it seem like it was suppose to go there. He had been very good at his job before he left.
(OOC Note: I figured that Disco might want to 'save' Breakdance Kid so I was just giving an option to do that.
Also, it's to late to edit, but when Ghost kicked Breakdance Kid he hit him in the side so he wouldn't be able to follow.)
Ghost Sentry fiished replacing the bullets in his pistol and then took a notepad from on of his belt pouches. He walked around the lab and started looking through the chemicals and comparing them to the notepad. On the page was an asortment of raw chemicals that he used before he got the pills to hide himself psychicly.
Shut up Id.
We didn't think anything.
"What? Then who said that." He pulled a pistol and looked around the empty room. "What?" He turned, he had delt with disembodied voices inside his head for sometime, but this was the first time he had heard one outside his head. "I'm finaly going mad...Who are you?...What how do you know my name...You have my attiention...I know that and why should I listen to you...Because you could be a Ritki...Well, I've never, then what are you...I won't be working with you then...WHAT? Thats not possible, I destroyed all of them...Well I thought there might be...Right I'll take care...Who then?...Where?...Alright, I'm on my way...What?...No problem, I good at that...I'll think about it." And the voice was gone.
Ghost went out into the hall and followed the instructions he had been given. Today he would stop the most sinister plot in Paragon City's history.
((OOC: HEEE. Good guy going nuts fun!))
The blind man ignored the alarms as he thought out loud to himself. "Where best to begin... I suppose the origin of the weapon would be best. There has been a war raging among my race, which you humans would call 'demons,' between various clans. The weapon was created a clan that has since been irradicated but the others due to their tendancy to consume the souls of other 'demons.' It is their willingness to consume the sous of their own race that allowed them to create a living weapon, who was once one of the most powerful members of their clan, that would be completely obedient to whoever became it's master. The mindless weapon was eventually captured and sealed in a pocket dimension, my eye being both the seal and the door.
"In order to keep the weapon away as well as because I'd chosen to throw in my lot with the human race, I was banished from my clan as well as from the entire 'demon' race."
((OOC: Edit: The additional stuff starts here.))
He let this information sink in before he continued. "Ordinarily I wouldn't be concerned about a human trying to summon the weapon due to the fact that no human would be stong enough on their own to be able to hold me off and gain control of the weapon. However, if one of my race were to attempt this, then that is something even I must admit that I will need assistance with."
From the look on the three men's faces he could guess what they were thinking. "Just so that you know, neither Medb nor her father, 'King Crimson' are demons, though they would give be a considerable challenge if I were to have to fight them. No, someone else is pulling the strings of those two puppeteers. If what I fear is really the case, then the man behind the scenes is a 'demon' who commited such heinous acts against his own kind that his horns were taken from him when he was banished. Should his plan succeed, he will have gained new horns and will be even stronger than when he was cast out."
((OOC: I'll leave off here to let Disco, Will, and Trevor react.))
(OOC: First, if I gave anyone the impression that my characters are invincible, they aren't. Disco Inferno may have many powers, and his music, but his music will not affect anyone with evil in their minds, and his attack powers aren't as strong as their real counterparts. Also, the same goes for The Breakdance Kid, except his music works the opposite way, and the fact that he's hopelessly inept at heroing. He can hide, recover fast, and hurt any psychic without combat abilities. So, if Vance has some hand-to-hand techniques, TBK won't fare so well next time, and we'll attribute the illusion working to a malfunction. His stuff malfunctions a lot, too, but I need him here for D.I.'s story. Sorry for the quick fight, but it really wouldn't have prevented you from escaping anyway, G4H. I'd have let you get away via TBK's ineptitude. Nevertheless, everything worked out. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to get back to D.I., who is no longer listening to B.G., and TBK, who needs to save his own sorry butt.)
"I hate my life," thought The Breakdance Kid as, once again, he was in the middle of failing, "Every time I try to foil some villains, this happens. If this crapola I'm packing doesn't start working soon, I'm joining Disco Inferno." As he ran for his life, he remembered his cloaking device and, rather than risk it blowing up again, he dropped it to increase his speed. "I can always use my gear recovery system later... if it works. Stupid headband, it was only an illusionist! I've escaped the Carnival of Shadows seven times, yet this punk fooled me! Then that gun-toting psycho raves at me, in English this time, about the brain's most impulsive component, id, then kicks me! Why is it that whenever I meet another hero, they turn out to be useless or nuts? Genius is nothing without the support to back it up, and the only support I'm getting is from my jet boots... wait, what?" he then noticed that his jet boots were actually working, and the npropelled himself out of the Tower to repair and recover his stuff. "At least I got out without having any stuff blowing up," he thought, and then his jet boots exploded. "Talk about poetic injustice...."
meanwhile, in the cafeteria...
"He got back in, now that he knows that we're gunning for him, he's already gone," Disco Inferno told the others, "If there's one thing he's good at, it's getting away, or he'd be dead five times over. He has NEVER foiled a single villain. He has the worst luck I've ever seen. Although, until I fought Haywire today, I wasn't much more powerful. But now that I can channel fire through my stuff, I've got all new options to win with. Do go on, Blind Guardian, this stuff about demons and stolen eyes is intriguing. Sorry for interrupting, just didn't want anyone to feel like they needed to hurry to catch Breakdance."
(OOC: Right, to equate D.I.'s damage, his blaster abilities are as powerful as a defender's, his controller powers last only 75% of the time a controller's power lasts, his shield are as powerful as a scrapper's, and MOST of his melee abilities are equal to a tanker's, but his greater fire sword (the move he used to beat Haywire) is as powerful as a warshade on an eight-person all scrapper team. So, he's got a lot of average powers, also, Inferno isn't in his repotoire, forgot to exclude, I think. Refer to the list at the end of the Haywire fight to see the other fire moves not useable by D.I. Finally, he most likely will not use many attacks availible to him, but I would like to keep the list large, to maintain variety. Sorry if I confused anyone.)

Trevor was starting to get a headache. He wasn't exactly an atheist, because in a world where more magical beings were discovered everyday it wasn't a survivable trait, but this was a strian on his religious patience. He wanted to yell out about how rediculous it all sounded. Get his horns back? Whan did my life turn into a bad fantasy novel. He reminded himself some of those books were pretty good and got on with.
"Alright and if someones pulling the King of Hearts strings, why would he want to destroy it and the univ...multiverse with it. I mean that would cause all existance to stop right. And if someone is pulling Medb's strings" That sounded as likey as someone pulling Countess Creys strings. "why does it want her to stop her father. Presuming it's the same person that is."
Trevor atleast knew what he was the gaurdian of, sorta anyway. Will didn't look lost, he hoped that Will was getting this better than he was.
"You make a good point, Trevor, but I think the this puppetmaster might have something to gain from Medb and the Crimson King killing each other," Disco Inferno had been thinking about what, and then it came to him, "Medb and her father are two of the most powerful forces in this universe, so what if this puppetmaster was trying to eliminate them so there wouldn't be any more competition. Or, if the true mastermind is who Blind Guardian thinks it is, his motives are obvious. Either way, this is all beginning to sound a little unnerving," he didn't intend to leave this deal without seeing the end, but he might need to bolt eventually, although he hoped not.

"True, but it does sound abit dangerous, I mean what if Medb fails. He loses and everything is gone. Very risky, it's like sacrificing your queen to pull the kings gaurds." Trevor refered to a certian match he had heard about. It only worked because the other player couldn't resist a chance to crush the strongest piece on the board. He hoped Medb wasn't that foolish. He turned to Blind Gaurdian. "Would you mined making this abit clearer?"

Blind Guardian leaned back in his chair, appearing as if he were looking at the ceiling if he'd had use of his eyes. "I can only assume that he has decieved one or both of them. Macbeth has probably seen that his final end is near and in desperation has latched onto any thing that might allow him to end his life on his own terms, even if that particular plan will not do what he's been told it would. You see, while my people are quite powerful, none has the kind of raw power needed to unmake even one reality, let alone the multiverse.
"As far as Medb is concerned, while she may believe and wish to stop the distruction she has told you about, she still has her own motives for gaining control of the weapon. I have no doubt that she has been told that it is the only way to prevent having her soul ejected from her body when King Crimson's current host dies. She has far more resources than she realizes at her disposal at this very moment that will allow her to break free of the 'curse' that has claimed the direct line of Macbeth.
"The reason Medb and King Crimson seem to have been so easy to manipulate is because they fixate to much on a given problem that they don't see all the solutions, especially problems dealing with their respective continued existance."
"Macbeth? who is that?" Trevor thought out loud. He quickly got a hold of a bigger question he didn't want to deal with. "Medb's soul?" If Trevor wasn't so cynical his reaction would probly be 'she has one?', but here his reaction was. "Her father dies and she becomes him?" Trevor asked in disbelief. Then he realized he had been thrown a life line. "Wait if he can't undo reality then we have no obligation to help Medb."
"Not quite, if we leave and she gains control of the weapon she has free rein over the multiverse or atleast one universe. Yes Blind Gaurdian I understand you don't want the weapon relesed and you say Madb won't be able to control it, but we can't take the chance that she might actual do and lose out on our goal." Will nodded to Blind Gaurdian as he spoke. "And Blind Gaurdians abit of a mouthful, would you happen to have a nickname." He looked to Trevor and decided to keep the card theme up. "Mr. Joker." Will smiled.
(OOC Note: Realy easy reference, but it is a reference. )

Blind Guardian nodded at Will's assessment. "As perceptive as ever, William. However, let us not forget that there is also the person pulling Medb and King Crimson's strings. He seeks to take the horns of the weapon for his own use. The horns of my people allow us to tap into unseen energies to power our abilities, without worrying about the drain on our life force, that is.
"As for what to call me, I suppose the name Kuro would be sufficient. I need to leave soon." He turned towards Will and Trevor specifically. "I have one question for the two of you: Would your hatered of the heroes of Paragon City prevent you from doing what would need to be done to prevent another incident like what happened with Alice?"
((OOC: Some side notes: Shortly before the post where Ghost went schitzo (the talking to no one post), JiD seemed to have disappeared. Also, BG knows that he has given Will and Trevor a hard choice, what he doesn't know is how far they'd be willing to go.))
Kathy sits around bored.
"Who is this person that little ugly brat was talking about?" Kathy muttered as she rolled a small rock on the ground.

When Trevors brain started working again he closed his mouth and looked at Will. Instead of the homicidal rage he expected to see he saw a man who knew the right answer, but didn't want to make it. Trevor wasn't very happy about it. It went against what he was and one of his earlest meomories with Heroes.
He had seen a hero pass right by a man being attacked on the street. He had even saw him, he had stopped, but he left the man. The following day the hero had made the front page for stopping some plot, the man who was attacked was only in a report of the increase of gang voilence. Trevor didn't belive that the needs of the few out weighted the needs of the many, but what happened to Alice should never happen to anyone.
He sighed "I'm afraid we would have to...go with..." He realy wasn't happy about this "Saving Alice." He exhaled and Will didn't looked sad.

"Kuro" could tell that the choice was hard for both of them. "I'd hoped that was what you would decide. Take this," he told them as he took what looked like an emerald out of his pocket and set it on the table, "and pray that you will not need it in the days ahead." And with those parting words, he left.
((OOC: Left as in walked out the door, though anyone trying to follow after will find he's "disappeared."))
Trevor looked at the emerald on the table in front of him. He wished what he said felt wrong and he wasn't excatly happy that Kuro had hoped for that answer. He picked up the gem and examined it in his hand, trying to think about something else, nothing doing. Will got up and left, it was probly a good idea to let him decompress for a while.
Trevor turned the gem around and looked at Disco who looked confused. "It happened after we defected, the day we defected from Crey. We both worked there, I was in management...sorta and Will worked for Crey security. He was sent after me after I found out about the Protector project." Trevor let out a single dark laugh "This would never have happened if the countess hadn't been touring the facility."
"I managed to convince Will that he was working for the wrong people. We only had to make it to his apartment to stop it from happening. You see Will had a daughter..." Trevor sighed "his wife had died after birth, rare but that still happens. When we got to his apartment Alice was gone and we found a note from Crey. Me in exchange for her. We decided to get a hero to help us, his name was Twilight Hound. He was an expert in stealth and promised her safe return. He failed. She was only 12 and now...it was my fault realy, if I hadn't of included him...But it wouldn't be right, would it." Trevor stare was fixed on the gem, some of his mind tryed to figure out if it was afocusing device or something more.
Will turned down a random hall, his mind to busy to care. Someone else was heading towards him. The man was wearing a mask and not an inch of fleash showed on him, but Will's brain was somewhere else and decided that it was Kikre and missed what he said.
"Are you sure, he doesn't look like a Ritki or a lost...But he looks human...Are you saying...You TRAITOR!" Ghost's hand frabbed a pistol and drew it at an imposible speed. The shot buried itself in Will's arm. Will didn't look anger as his punch sent Ghost back four feet, he just looked very intent.
(OOC Notes: Trevor of course doesn't know that Disco knows about his employment.)

As Trevor studied the gem, started noticing unusual properties about it. First was the fact that it seemed far smoother than any gem cutter could make it. Second was that the stone was strangely warm to the touch. The last thing that he finally noticed was that, with the exception of it's color and lack of opacity, it seemed to be more of a cat's eye stone rather than an emerald, except that the "pupil" could only be seen on one side of the stone.
As Trevor gazed into the black of the stone he felt like he was staring into the abyss. What's more, he felt like he was being drawn in. He struggled and was finally able to tear his gaze way from the black center.
((OOC: If Trevor is thoughtful enough, he should be able to draw some sort of conclusions about this stone from what "Kuro" has said.))
"Hmmm, that must be the 'her' that Will mentioned. Daym," thought Disco Inferno. "Hey, Trevor, Will didn't seem interested, but I thought that you might be a little more open. You see, there's this guy, definately 'heroey,' but he raids Crey labs for evidence of various underhanded plots. While inadmissable in court, he hopes that they lead him to where the projects are taking place, so he can catch them red-handed. Since we met while I was stealing cash from Crey, he's let me join him on his raids to deal a few hits to Crey's coffers. Just tell him I sent you and your backstory, and he'll be happy to help you defeat Crey. In fact, you probably shouldn't tell Will, as it might get his hopes up for no reason, BUT, Crey rarely just kills their captives, so Alice MIGHT still be alive, as the subject of some experiments, and he's the only guy who would ever know where to find a test facility anywhere. His name is The Contaminant," as Disco Inferno mentioned this, he noticed an increase in heart rate for Trevor ("Anger? Happiness? Shock? Something else?") and thought it best to let him think.
Meanwhile...
"There, all fixed," just because they exploded, didn't mean The Breakdance Kid wasn't good at fixing things, and picking most traditional locks. "Well, time to sneak back in, let's hope nothing explodes this time. In fact, I'll just hide until something happens," and so, The Breakdance Kid hid himself where only a clairvoyant could find him, because telepathics and such couldn't detect him with that headband (if it works).
(OOC: TBK's just going to hide now, so just leave him be until I put him on the move again. I need him for D.I.'s story (if this story develops the way it's been foreshadowed). Also, check out my new RP, Hero Academy.)

Trevor carefully put down the emerald, he was still arguing with himself if he should keep it. Half of him said it was important and the other half didn't need to say anything he had seen what had almost happpened. He looked a Disco and piece together what he was saying. "I don't think she is alive Disco, we haven't been black mailed about her since." Trevor said gloomily. But if she is alive, hero or no hero...well he only be doing recon, if he didn't get to involved we could handle it. I've gotten stronger since then. He rallied behind a voice that sound more fit for an office. "Alright Disco, you can ask your 'friend' to look into Alcie, but tell him to not to try and do any 'heroics'. If he does find her, if he finds anything about her, tell me." Trvor ended on a low note, why couldn't the universe respect his hate of heroes and keep them out of it. Trevor didn't care for gods, but Trevor did belive in karma and he had an idea that it was paying him back with high interest.
Ghost was finding it hard to kill someone who wouldn't let him aim and wasn't afriad of his guns. It was also difficult when Will refused to acknowledge he was wounded. Even moveing as fast as he could he found it difficult to dodgw when the man seemed to predict his moves. He was staying out of harms way, but he knew that he had to be lucky every time and Will only had to be lucky once.
From Will's prespective nothing else existed except Ghost Sentry, his fists, and the feeling he got when they conected. A shot wizzed past his ear, Will throw a punch that just went far of where Ghost was going to be. Ghost thrusted his pistol at Will's chest, but will caught the gun and lifted it up till the gun was pulled from ghosts hand and throwen behind him. Will tryed to take advantage of the moment, but Ghost had slipped back out of range and was forming a new battle plan of attack.
"Cool, let me get him on the phone, one sec. (Ringing coming from D.I.'s ear)," was Disco Inferno's response.
"Hello? Who's this?" was the reply from the voice on the other line.
"Hey, it's Disco Inferno, you're on loudspeaker, I need some help finding someone."
"Who? For whom?"
"I need to find a little girl named Alice at a Crey testing facility, for the innacurately named Matchhead Brothers. They're ex-employees of Crey, not brothers, and have nothing to do with fire."
"Okay, let me check my database for any files about her I've already taken. Hmmmm... there are four Alices, all in separate testing facilities. Any other specifics?"
"She should be a preteen."
"Sorry, there aren't any. Wait... it seems that in the Countess' personal files, there's a record of her adopting a twelve-year-old girl named Alice. To try to save her would be suicide. I am so sorry, Disco."
"Wait, don't you know the codes to all of the doors in Countess Crey's house?"
"Yeah, but there's no way I could sneak in with a psychic THAT powerful."
"No, YOU couldn't. But I know someone with a gadget that can."
"Who?"
Just, then, The Breakdance Kid runs into the pair of villains "Oh, this is not my day."
"Gimme that headband, and you can go," was all Disco Inferno had to say.
"Here, take my spares," said The Breakdance Kid as he tossed a set of four Anti-psionics headbands at him.
"Four. Looks like we'll be able to really party. There's enough for you, Will, me, AND The Contaminant. I've seen him in battle against Crey security. It ain't pretty. In fact, Breakdance, you wanna save a little girl AND whup Countess Crey's scrawny behind later?"
"Only as much as I want a date with Carmen Electra!"
"Of course, I'll see if I can run those defective bits of tech through my analyzer to see how to make them... not useless. Now, all we need is Trevor's approval and then, as soon as this little plot is concluded, we'll help Trevor and Will have a happy ending. Speaking of which, would you also like to avert the destruction of a whole lot of people. You'll have to be villainy for it."
"Sure, we won't be hurting innocents, will we?"
"I don't know, but it seems doubtful."
"I'm in, then."
Then, The Contaminant finally spoke, "Count me in, too, be there in a couple of minutes. I used my tracer to find your pocket dimension's location."
"Cool. So, Trevor, would you mind letting the three of us tag along while you save Alice? She may not be Will's daughter, but she just might."
(OOC: The rescue is going to take place immediately after the Medb's plan ends (and all loose ends are tied up), So I hope you won't mind letting us use the thread then (unless Trevor kills the idea, but D.I. won't take no for an answer, anyway). Also, TBK is now on the villains' side (told you there would be a payoff to letting him live) his devices will work soon, so now he can fly to high places, cloak himself, use the entire devices powerset, but the auto-taser (tasers when attacked at melee range) is still iffy. His martial arts and super reflexes only work when his music is playing, and he may not use any other gadget while playing music. His armor just adds damage resistance to smashing, lethal, and toxic, along with toxic defense and lethal defense (all moderate level). The Contaminant is a Rad/Rad defender with all blast moves (except aim), all electricity mastery moves (but chances are he'll only use charged armor, because I don't remember the other three), combat jumping, super leap, hurdle, stealth, stimulant, and all rad. emission moves (except choking cloud and EMP pulse). He's also got a large database of information on Crey and their direct allies accessable through his PDA. His "tracer" is a police tracer mixed with a GPS and dimensional anomaly detector, but it's only accessable at his apartment. Thank you for reading this really long post.)

Trevor mind ran the situation through faster than most people could. It didn't look faulty, there was a decent plan, "allies" and a chance to save Alice. It sounded to good to be true. He only had one question, "Contaminant, why would the Countess black mail us with her only once?"
"Hmmm, I would think that the Countess has plans for Alice that she thought of after the failed rescue attempt. I don't have any files on it, but I'll see if I can hack in and find something," several minutes later, The Contaminant came back on Disco Inferno's odd phone, "I found something. It seems that the Countess has some sort of project going on. It was killed a little while ago, but... oh, no. Gentlemen, it seems that Alice is due to go through the radiation chamber that gave me my powers. You see, they tried to ice me because I knew that the chamber would be fatal, and was going to report it. Unfortunately for them, the chemicals in my lab coat allowed me to absorb the radiation and give it shape. I was spewing the green stuff rapidly, though, so I took some Crey science goggles, and the Crey radiation focus suit they had designed to go with the chamber, and here I am. Crey must think that the chamber was a success, instead of the fluke it actually was. Alice won't live through the minute if she goes in that chamber. But, she isn't schedueled to go in until her sixteenth birthday. Now, I'll be out of touch for about thirty minutes while I jump over to your base. Let everyone know I'm on their side, though. The same would be good for Breakdance. Over and out," with that, there was a click, and Disco Inferno turned the phone off.
"Okay, it's settled, we'll raid Crey manor as soon as this is over. But we need to remember NOT to let her know we want Alice, or we'll be putting her in unnecessary danger. Also, Hopkins usually stays at her place for protection, but other than that, Countess Crey has NO security detail at home. Anyone got a plan of attack if the meathead finds us?" Disco Inferno spoke with composure, determination, and sensibility as yet unknown to be in his possesion (meaning this is the best speech he's given so far).
"Right, then, I can pick any conventional locks in Countess Crey's house, and you, The Contaminant, and I could probably take Hopkins down while Trevor and Will take out the Countess. But anyway, could someone brief me on this little plan you've got?" The Breakdance Kid's clever plan was further proof that while his inventions aren't great, he's still one of America's best minds.
(OOC: I'm enjoying this part, maybe because I like happy endings, and this will ensure one for Trevor and Will. I mean, it wouldn't be fair to give everyone else what they want and leave these poor guys out in the cold.)

Kirke glared at the glowing gem from behind his goggles. He HATED magic. However, the momentary distraction gave him a chance to think. This soul that she said was passed down through her family was most likely the very reason why she wanted Book. She had said herself that he was an expert on soul transfer, so she probably wanted him there to make sure she wasn't possessed by this thing when her father died.
Of course he could be off base. Maybe the dead king only infected the male members of the family, but he kind of doubted it. It fit so well with Book's prescence that he was almost sure of it. He looked again at the stone in Medb's hand, thinking about the possibility of going up against a demon.
He had learned to prepare for anything in Paragon City and had found a few ways to combat such things. Not with magic, of course. Magic was too unpredictable. Iron worked well against many supernatural types as did silver. Holy water worked on most demons and vampires, though there seemed to be some different "species" of both that weren't affected by the stuff. Unfortunatly, all he had with him was his two Desert Eagles.
"If it's not too much to ask," he said, though there wasn't any real politeness in his voice, "I'd appreciate it if some of your men could pick up some equipment for me. I'm sure you already know where I'm holed up at the moment. If they could bring the large box in the far right-hand corner I'd be grateful."
The crate was locked and he had the key. Medb's staff probably had the means to break it, but hopefully they wouldn't think about it. Besides, it was just supplies and ammunition; nothing she could object to him having. Giving her men free permission to enter his base would appear to be a major mistake on his part, but he moved himself around a lot of the time anyway. Abandoning the place after this whole mess was over would be standard procedure anyway. And the seeming blunder would help enforce the others' opinion of his inferior status. He knew that many considered him as little more than a small time thug with delusions of grandeur. Kirke didn't really care what they thought; hell, he even enforced the image sometimes. The minute people think that you're below them you have an advantage.
Ghost Sentry was impressed with how he had handled the situation, but something was amiss. The pale man didn't seem to try and resist, he had gone along with it. That in his extensive experence is a bad sign. He reached into his shirt and pulled out a knecklace with two metal ovals on it, each of thier edge covered in black rubber. They looked old and rusted, he looked at them to remind himself of his capture and then put them back.
He pulled out his pistols and looked at the mans eyes. He wasn't a Lost. Good to know, but troubling how could someone make such an advanced portal and be in no way related to the Ritki. Maybe thier prisioner knew "Hguiy uyyeni skfoff gwent..." He inquired. They both looked at him. What was wrong with these people. "Eighf enghite uinyyfdse oiokhio..." he said in his own defense, they continued to stare, some people.
He felt odd, a little sick maybe. Something wrong Id? he thought in a not very kind tone.
...No response. Something was wrong with this place.
(OOC Note: Oh the twisted web Ghost Sentry weaves. Who is Id and why can't he speak and why is Breakdance Kid ignoring it? I want to know.)
