Reqruitment Plans (Open Villain RP)...
For Trevor a library was fine, but Will didn't share his obsessive passion for books. He wandered down the hall way, a slight bit of angry held after the mention of Alice. Still he wasn't about to kill someone right now.
After a while he heard some muffled voices as he passed a door. Feeling abit adventurous, he had discovered that it was the only way to explore the Tower, he walked over to the door. He reconived the voice though he couldn't make out the words. He opened the door to Disco and Vance's ping pong match just as Vance was serving. Interested he decided to watch, much better than watching Trevor read some book.
Trevor was so busy reading that he had missed Will leaving. The quiet of the library was suddenly desturbed by a sudden sound from the behind the book case. Trevor looked up from the book and quitely moved over to the end of the shelf and looked inbetween the rows and saw...
(OCC Note: Set up for anyone who wants to get in.)
((OOC: Intoducing the "Blind Guardian." And he doesn't really qualify as a villain by any stretch.))
A blindfolded man dressed in all black looked like he was reading a book, though how he was capable of doing so Trevor couldn't tell.
"I believe the words you are looking for," the apparently blind figure said not turning away from his book, "are 'Who or what are you?', Trevor."
Kathy whistled as she mopped the floor in the reverse tower. She left a nasty blood stain, well a monster left a nasty blood stain that is.
"When can I come out?!" Kathy yelled. This was boring and she was missing power puff girls.
((OOC: If Kathy is getting bored, then let's play with her mind a little... Time to scare the living daylights out of her.))
"You shouldn't be here," came a small voice from behind her. Until now, Kathy had been comfortable being unable to see in the absolute darkness of the Reverse Tower. However, when she turned to face the voice she found that she could actually see the speaker, a little girl, no older than six, that seemed to glow and shimmer. "You'll be in trouble if she finds you here, so you should leave now." The expression on the girl's face went from innocent to a vicious grin. "If you don't then I'll have to tell on you and she will come and punish you."
((OOC: Taking bets what the nature of the Reverse Tower is and who you think "she" and the little girl are.))

"Uh yeah that was my first thought." Trevor was trying to figure out how he was reading the book without being able to see. Then Trevor realised what he had just. Trevor had assumed that the man was just quessing, but he know his name. there were 2 explanations, 1 he worked for Medb, 2 he could read minds. Trevor decided to go for the least far fecthed one. "Are you a psychic?" Trevor had never met a psychic before, though he had read about them. That explained the book though, some 'mind's eye' thing. I wonder, will I have to bother talking or will the entire conversation happen in my head?
Kathy stuck her tongue out at the little girl.
"I can do what I want and I'm not afraid of you!" Kathy giggled. She started dancing around the little girl giving her small pats on the head.

"I take it that this person who can ruin everything ISN'T your father," Kirke said flatly. "Just what should we be expecting here?"

Medb sighed, "That is only partially correct... The soul that resides in the body of my father is not his own but rather that of a once great king from whom I am decended who's soul has been passed through each of his heirs in a bid for some symbolance of immortality. However, he now believes that his own end is near and will do whatever it takes to make his death be on his own terms."
The woman rubbed her hand back and forth on her forehead as if trying to think of something. "I don't know why, but I feel like I'm forgetting about another potential road block..."

"And in case you are wondering, there are other ways one can see the world without using their eyes, especially for those of us who aren't human. As for who I am, I suppose the 'Blind Guardian' is a name that works as well as any other..."

When Kathy tried to pat the girl on the head, she found that her hand passed right through her. Before she could react to this occurance the child's form shifted ever so slightly to so that she now looked like her body had suffered some decay and some parts looked like they had become worm food already. "You shouldn't have done that. Now I'm going to tell on you and you're going to be in big trouble when she gets here." The freakish child took a swipe at Kathy, ripping her clothes, and disappeared. Kathy was once again all alone in the darkness and again couldn't see.

"Not human, then what are you? And if your not psychic how did you know my name?" Trevor always felt alittle unconfortable around non-humans even though he wasn't completely human himself. He had a feeling that by the time he left the Tower he be use to them. If I leave. He was abit curious by what the man had ment about potentional, the cautious kind of curious his years working for his former employers had instilled in him. As a precaustion he stopped releasing the energy he had built up before Disco's fight with Haywire. He had released about half and given the size of the library you would have to have very acute senses to notice. He wonder if the man could sense it. He also wanted to know what he was the gaurdian of, but that could wait a minute.

Sore wa himitsu desu? Trevor figured it had to be another language, he could narrow it down a bit, it wasn't Russian or German, the only languages he knew besides Engilsh. He'd work on that later.
"Uh, well I was abit curious as to the whole potiental thing, but I would like to know how you know my name. I mean I can't figure out how Medb has it, after we defected C... My former employers deleted any records on us."

Kirke frowned under his mask. That last statement made him uneasy, and the woman's suddenly confused-looking actions made it worse. Up until now this Medb had seemed to have laid everything out perfectly. Now she seemed to have let something slip her mind.
This new development seemed completely uncharacteristic from what he had seen so far, and it had sent off warning alarms in his head. He hid his trepidation though, asking another question instead.
"This ancient spirit," he said, the slight disdain in his voice still intact. "How is it passed on exactly? If we kill your father will it die with him or just pass on to the next person in line?"
Vance's little speech, while passionate, annoyed Disco Inferno because it was a blatant attempt at manipulation. He may seem one-dimensional, but he certainly isn't stupid, "I may not trust the others entirely, but if they try anything, I'll incinerate them like I nearly did to Haywire. Also, don't insult my intelligence with thinly veiled manipulation tactics, it belittles us both. I do commend you for trying, but fifteen years of training to use 70s lingo, even though I'm only twenty-eight, has made me a master of the English language. One more thing, don't knock the TB." As Vance's latest volley neared him, he hit it directly on to Vance's side of the table so hard, it bounced off faster than Disco Inferno could see, and nailed Will right between the eyes. "My point. Huh? Sorry, Will! You okay?"

Will rubbed the spot where the ball had struck. Ow! That had some power behind it. He vaguely wondered if it would leave a mark. "I'm fine Disco, I've taken alot worse to the face." He picked up the ball and tossed it back to Disco. Will smiled slightly. 'Thinly veiled manipulation tactics' so thats Vance's true colors. He made a mental note to tell Trevor not to try to manupulate Disco, He was never very good at it anyways. "I'll play winner, if you don't mind." Will walked to the side of the table "What's the score?"
Disco Inferno was glad to see that Will wasn't as superious as his... brother... friend... cousin? Well, whatever the relationship was, it was obvious that Will found more fun in physical activity. "It's match point, whoever makes this shot wins," Vance had turned to look at Will, and Disco, being one to take advantage if someone's guard dropped in a competition, launched a fierce shot that went right past Vance's nose, "You need to pay attention. I play the way I fight, by using the drop in your guard to win." He was very honest when dealing with others, but he's always been one to take advantage of a drop in guard. Also, he's a master face-reader in poker. "So, Will, looks like you're up. Tell me, what do you think of the others, Vance here was just tellin' me about it, and trying to turn me against the rest of you. Commendable villainous behavior, but best reserved for Hellions and Trolls. Also, excuse me if I'm being too nosy, but what do you have against Crey? I heard your conversation with Vance, even if he didn't think I did."
(OOC: the info about his trustworthiness is internal, so judge him by what he says and does. Also, he is almost guaranteed to hear anything said in the same room as him unless he's already talking to somebody.)

Vance snorted derisively. So much for Disco getting out alive. "Yah-huh. I'm tryin' to turn you against them, because I need the help oh-so-badly," he replied acidly as he took out another cigarette and lit up. "What do you think I want here? Power? Respect? An army of willing minions to do my evil bidding? Sharks with laser beams on their heads? Nah. I'm in this for the money. I wouldn't have minded splitting it with you since that'd make less work for me, so I was trying to be friendly, but if that ain't your speed, fine. Just don't get between me and my paycheck, or we're gonna have issues, you and I."
With that Vance left in search of Jack-in-Diamonds.

Watching Vance go was slight blessing, he could answer Disco's last question with out much concern. Money, give me a break you got to have some objective. Will served, he was pretty good at ping-pong, but he was much better at darts. "The others, I haven't met them all... well Kathy is of interest, I would like to know who she works for. Hegemon is a machine and it can't realy tell what she's thinking." Will missed and the ball vounced right past him. "Zip to one. Like this Kirke guy, but I'll make my option after I've had a chance to talk to him. As for our mutaul friend Vance he has to be up to something and the least he could do is be honest about it." Will served again. "Jack reminds me to much of Hopkins and Medb is, well shes Medb." He decided against insulting her in the Tower which was almost certianly bugged. Disco hit to high and the ball went out of bounds. Will sereved. "One all. I do have slight problems talking about Crey so I won't tell you the whole story. I just don't want to relive it all right now. Me and Trevor had abit of a falling out with Crey about two months ago. I was on..." The ball flew right under Will's elbow. Well I wasn't expecting it to be easy. Will served. "One to two. I was with Crey secruity at the time and I had been asigned to hunt down Trevor and bring him back to Crey. When I found..." Will got the ball past Disco. Will caught the ball and served again. "Two all. When I found out what Crey was realy doing, well I defected with Trevor. Theres more to the story, but that part I rather not think about." The ball flew back and forth and was traveling faster with each hit. "I guess thats kind of a heroic story and like Vance said we aren't exactly villians." Then with abit of luck Disco hit the ball out of bounds again. "three to two, your serve. So Disco, not to pry myself, but how much of you is robotic and why did the Clockwork King come to you."
(OCC Notes: Did I write everyone into a corner or something? If I did I'm sorry, will you all come back now.)
((i was kinda waiting for master wonderful, hoping to run into jack since i don't know where he is atm.))
(OOC: Sorry. my mother used the computer all last night)
As Disco Inferno listened to Will and got off three amazing volleys after his last miss, he thought that Will might be the only person close enough to agenda-free for him to tell some of the less savory parts of his story to. "I think I'm just about all robot, except for one thankfully human appendage. If you want an exact number, you can ask the Clockwork King. He lives in King's Row, and he makes damn good crumpets. As for why, he never told me, and I never asked. I think it was the fact that he knew I was good at running away and hiding, everyone did after I escaped Statesman. I think he thought that if I hid well enough, I'd be able to use the special device on Haywire before he could react. Unfortunately, Haywire has sensors that detect robots, cyborgs, magic, extraterrestrials, and any sort of genetic abnormality. From what Vance said about him, I think Kirke wasn't even detected, which might make him a good candidate for a partner if I wanted one. As I said, Haywire gave me a good whuppin' when he noticed my robotic signature matched the Clockwork. I only got away with my hypnotic music generator. Anyway, I noticed Vance's heart rate go up when I exposed his little plan, so I'll need to watch out for him. Oh, did I mention I'm currently monitoring all of your vital signs? But it's odd, Mr. Book has had the exact same readings since he showed up on my monitors. His brainwaves seem different than anyone else's, and Vance's seem different still. Vance's match the general pattern of a psychic of some sort, but Book's... I've never seen anything like it, it's as if he isn't truly bound to the corporeal realm... nah, I'm just imaginin' things. Medb's heart rate went up a little while ago, she must've been a little perturbed by something Kirke or Book said. Now, if you're wondering how I can do this, or why the King would put a device like this in me, he decided to repay my efforts by giving this to me, as I can tell when a bank teller is about to hit the silent alarm, among other, similar things. Just a moment ago, Trevor's heart rate increased just a little, as if something startled or shocked him. Maybe you should talk about it when you see him next. By the way, are you related, or just friends, and how about powers? Match point, my serve," as he said all this, the game had flown by, and this serve would, once again, determine the game. He didn't dare look at Will's vitals, or he'd know exactly what he was going to do, and that would be cheating. He served, and decided to add a little spin, something he had yet to do. When Will went to hit it as it hit the table, it spun to the right just enough for him to miss entirely. "Good game, Vance wasn't even that good, and judging from his brain waves, he was trying to interfere with his psychic powers. I don't like cheaters," while he wouldn't check heart rate, perspiration, or other move-predicting vitals, he always monitored the brainwaves of those that resembled psychics.
(OOC: It's easy to keep secrets from him, but sneak attacks and psionics will be instantly detected unless you have no vital signs to give you away. So I hold you to the honor system, Hegemon. JiD might or might not have vitals, but he's an NPC. I wouldn't be worth my 5 ranks in "Knowledge: D&D" if I suspected an NPC of a secret agenda. )

(OCC Note: Glad to see your still alive Manofmanycharacters.)
Will put down the paddle, it had been a good game. "You too." Will smiled, in his head he changed Disco's placement after hearing about the moniters. Hmmm, Trevor should still be charged, he should be fine and Disco notice any irregularities. "As to relation, no, the media gave us the name Matchhead Brothers mostly because our hair is almost the same color." He tapped the dark red hair that almost looked unnatural. "We defected together and we decided it be better to work together than alone. Powers, well I don't exactly have any...I'm what you call a Natural." Will continued with the kind of slight embaresment that comes with sharing a dream. "I always wanted to be in one of those Worlds Strongest Man competions, I spent a lot of time working out, but...I my shoulders won't grow despite all my efforts, makes me look kinda puny...and being alittle over 5 foot dosen't help much. So yeah thats my power as for Trevor well...I guess the right word for it would be a Meta-Human." Will shrugged "Not my place to talk for him, if he wants to tell you he will, but don't be put off by the fact that he doesn't sweat."
"Dosen't sweat? That would explain why his perspiration's been at zero all day, I just thought he was cold. Looks like it'll be that much more difficult to read him," replied Disco Inferno, surprised at this new information. "It's good to have a dream, at first I just thought you had it in for the Crey, and if I didn't mention it, I don't care if you aren't really villains. You two have guts, something I doubt guys like Vance have even heard of. You two and Vance are both highly skilled, judging from how you play ping-pong, but you'd kick his butt, because you've got spirit. You could have all the super powers in the world, but if you don't have spirit, you might as well have none. And frankly, grudges will only hinder your potential, Will. When I was first starting out, this magic hero almost beat me, and I swore revenge. So, I followed him for three days, and when I struck, I beat the living daylights out of him. But afterwards, I realized that I had wasted three days I could've used to rob the town even blinder, and in that way, the hero I just whupped was the real winner. The best revenge is succeeding where they tried to stop you. That hero tried to stop my robberies, and now I'm one of the best robbers in the country. You and Trevor could really make something of yourselves, legit or otherwise. Or, you could waste your lives trying to get revenge on one of the most powerful people in the city, and succeed or fail, you lose," as Disco Inferno spoke his idealistic rhetoric, he noticed Will's heart rate go up considerably. "Now, don't go getting your dander up, I'm only trying to make you more productive. I see a lot of potential in the two of you, and I wouldn't want to see it squandered. But, if you want, I can give you the name of someone that could help you beat Crey. See, I was stealing some cash from a Crey lab, when I noticed a HERO stealing top secret files. I asked what he was doing, and he told me he was looking for evidence. He mentioned stealing was illegal, and I mentioned stealing documents was illegal, and we ageed we didn't see nothing if the other didn't see nothing. I asked him his name, and he said to call him The Contaminant. I'd wager he uses radiation. If you went to see him, he might help your quest for vengeance," Disco Inferno noticed Will's heartbeat return to normal. "So, wanna check in on your friend?"
(OOC: If you want to know more about Haywire or The Contaminant, send me a PM and I'll give you a time when you can meet the one you want to meet under Atlas on Protector server. Man, this was a long post, so was the last one.)

Will tried to remain calm, for Disco's sake. He tried to shove the horrible memories aside. He toke a deep breath and focused all his attiention on the conversation and he finaly relaxed. "We aren't going for revenge because the wronged us, the wronged the world." Disco had sound so ideaological that it remianed him of Trevor, very good with the dramtic bits. "But, I do have a personal grude...I don't realy want to think about it and I know stopping them won't change whats happened, but...but I won't feel like I...let her down...maybe." His voice was heavy and a odd mix of anger and sadness. He shoved her name aside. No need to think about it, focus. "And thanks for the offer of help, but I will never trusted a hero agian." his was abit more upbeat. "As for Trevor, that was a while ago you said? No he's fine, he's in the library, has a passion for books. He get realy caught up in the stories, probly got to an exciting part." He thought about it for a moment "You seen any places to eat around here?"
"What did heroes do that made you so upset anyway?" asked Disco Inferno, as he then realized the answer, "Ohhhh, the Paragon protectors? Let me let you in on a little secret The Contaminant showed me as we were plundering the goods from that lab. Apparently, Paragon protectors are the reanimated corpses of heroes that died during the Rikti invasion. They're mindless zombies, that's why they don't talk, and have masks over their lifeless faces. The Contaminant was screwed over by Crey in a very big way anyway, so I doubt he'd be against anyone that hates them. He told me he was a scientist at Crey labs. Now, he wasn't the type of scientist that attacks heroes like the others, he thought that Crey was a legitimate business. One day, the countess gave his team a project to develop this new type of radiation that would give people superpowers, and a suit to harness the radiation. The Contaminant found out that, while the radiation would give anyone superpowers, it would also kill them. When he told Countess Crey about it, she had Hopkins force him to be the first test subject. But, instead of dying, he absorbed the radiation. He thinks it was all the chemical residue on his lab coat. When he came out, he was seeping tons of radiation, but was able to steal Crey's harnessing suit, and a lab visor, to make eye beams. He's found that the suit not only focuses his powers into radioactive attacks, but it uses the radiation to fuel super jumping and a minor cloaking device. We've kept in touch, so I can empty Crey's coffers to cover up his 'investigations.' If nobody else could help your mission, he can. He even has some friends that could help, they're mighty powerful. Although, Haywire is coincidentally one of them, but I'm certain he won't recognize you, and hell, if villainy weren't so lucrative, I'd be a hero just to hang with them. By the way, if it isn't too personal, who is 'her?'" Disco Inferno didn't want to push the matter of "her" unless Will wanted to talk about it, it seemed like a touchy subject. "Oh, I think I saw a cafeteria around here, let's see if your friend would like to join us."
(OOC: As Disco is explaining The Contaminant, he's using a sort of explanatory tone, as opposed to a pushy one. As for his question about "her," he says it as if you don't have to talk about if you'd rather not.)
