  1. You know, I always figured Jack would one day outsmart himself.
  2. [ QUOTE ]
The Cabal of witches, the nasty imps called Red Caps, the giant Fir Bolg and the legendary Tuatha de Dannan rule this realm.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I have a problem with the "children of Danu" being a villain group. The Fomors I can understand, but I always thought the Tuatha de Dannan were supposed to be "good guys."
  3. I doubt anyone knows where I got my sig from... Patchwork Heroes:GOOD.
  4. So, I wonder how long this will stay alive with all the runion (I know I botched that spelling...) stuff going on in the thread now. ^_^
  5. OMG d00d! j00 have raised it from the dead and now were all going to diiiiiieeeee! Or not.

The only difference between these religions is the worship of Jesus as the messiah.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not entirely true. There IS a sect of the Jewish faith that believes that Jesus was the messiah, which is the sect that Christianity split from. And what this split was really about who should be considered as being converted to a follower of Jesus.

Oh, and the phrase "good sameritan" hasn't been used correctly for quite a while, but that's neither here nor there.

After all, Herc was the son of Zeus and a mortal woman.

    [/ QUOTE ]

However, he achieved godhood in is own right at the moment of his death. The problem I see with Heracles and BAB being equated with each other is the fact that beyond just being physically powerful they have nothing else really in common that I can see. And there are plenty of physically powerful figures in Classical Mythology.

Hades loved war but that in and of itself is not evil. War defines peace, just as death defines life (see how I got Hades in there?).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Now, see, when I took my philosophy course, the whole thesis-antithesis-synthisis thing struck me as stupid since it suggested that everything was defined by what it wasn't. I can't exactly disproove it, but it just felt stupid none the less.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
Yeah, Kronos/Saturn. Zeus was kinda annoyed his Dad ate him and his brothers/sisters when he was born (or something like that) so after beating the heck out of him, he chained him up somewhere to suffer forever.

    It's where he's chained up I can't remember.

    [/ QUOTE ]

There are actually three parts to Hades: Tartarus (the place where the Titans were held and where evil mortal were punished), Plain of Asphodel (the part of the upper area of the underworld, called Erebus, where most souls went and experienced neither joy nor sorrow and helled no memory of their fomer lives), and Elysian Fields (also in Erebus, where the few, truely great souls resided in bliss, among those who were believed to reside there was Achilise(sp?)). Also, Hades was not really portrayed as evil any more often than Hera, Ares, or Zeus were on their own.

There are more. Ramen is like the greatest thing man ever invented. Next time you make it boil the noodles then strain it. Next take butter, garlic seasoning and some milk and stir it together. Enjoy.

    [/ QUOTE ]

With all this Ramen discussion I just have to mention that there is an actual museum in Japan dedictated to the stuff. More specifically it's found in Sapporo, which I think is supposed to be the Ramen capitol of the world. (not to mention the fact that you can find ramen-yas (ramen shops/restaurants) all over the place in Japan.
  11. *almost busts a gut laughing*

Too good. At least you are making it blatantly obovious that you are a god like Self Insert and are just trying to have fun with it.
  12. Somethings to consider with the origins... Science doesn't mean that your character was a scientist. My main is a Science Tanker, but that's because he's had a tendancy to get captured and his captors expirament with his genetics. A Natural origin can explain any powersets depending on the situation: A.) character went through intence physical or mental training to be able to use the abilities he has (This is the case with the Statesman who is capable of flight) or B.) You are an alien (be it from another plane, reality, or planet) and everyone from your race has those abilities (the Peacebringer Kheldians are automatically this origin). It all comes down to how creative you are with the explanation as to why you are able to use those abilities.

You almost have the right word. Just remove the "j."
  14. Looking at the list of features you've mentioned, it sound rather keen. I think I'll check it out now.
  15. ((OOC: I appologize for not posting sooner, but I've been busy. First off: Malfius, I need info, via PM, on whatever character you are planning on using in this thread due to the fact that Medb's connection to the Illuminati allows her to have access to information on just about anyone. Info that should be included: Background/History and Powers. This will also help me fit you into the story better. (As an aside, please try to use proper grammar (specifically using appropriate capitolization on the In Character parts of the text) and spelling(though I've not picked up any errors of this kind). I know that sometimes there will be mistakes in those areas (I've made quite a few), but it offers more cohesion to the text if it is obvious that some effort has been made in this department.

Secondly, I'm sending e-mails to Hermod, manofmanychars
, and Master_Mind reguarding the story points that I've been having trouble putting into decent words as well as getting approoval to do certain things to their characters.))
  16. Ach! Ye've been playing with the Dialectizer to much, haven't ye, yeh wee lad!
  17. ((OOC: Here's a tip, Medb is going to be pissed when she finds out that BDK and Contaminant found a way into the Tower. As such, they should do what they can to not be seen by her or any of the other characters. They are welcome to be in the story even so, but they won't be put into Medb's plans. Let me know if I need to clarify a bit better.))
  18. ((OOC: Ok, that's three so far. And I'm assuming that manofmanychars is still around here some where. The same goes for Genius4Hire and Master_Mind. The ones we haven't heard from for even longer, however, are Mazement, Citizen_Stu, Unknown_Hero, and Palaquinn. I'll try PMing them if we don't hear from them soon.))
  19. ((OOC: I need a sound off on who all is still here since some people have been extra quiet. I don't know who all is waiting for me or someone else to do something.))

    [ QUOTE ]
"If it's not too much to ask," he said, though there wasn't any real politeness in his voice, "I'd appreciate it if some of your men could pick up some equipment for me. I'm sure you already know where I'm holed up at the moment. If they could bring the large box in the far right-hand corner I'd be grateful."

    [/ QUOTE ]

Kirke's request snapped her out of her reverie. "Oh, yes, of course," she said in a daze. When she looked back at the stone, she noticed that it's glow had started to wane. "Um, ahem. I'm sorry, I got distracted for a moment."

Trevor stare was fixed on the gem, some of his mind tryed to figure out if it was a focusing device or something more.

    [/ QUOTE ]

As Trevor studied the gem, started noticing unusual properties about it. First was the fact that it seemed far smoother than any gem cutter could make it. Second was that the stone was strangely warm to the touch. The last thing that he finally noticed was that, with the exception of it's color and lack of opacity, it seemed to be more of a cat's eye stone rather than an emerald, except that the "pupil" could only be seen on one side of the stone.

As Trevor gazed into the black of the stone he felt like he was staring into the abyss. What's more, he felt like he was being drawn in. He struggled and was finally able to tear his gaze way from the black center.

((OOC: If Trevor is thoughtful enough, he should be able to draw some sort of conclusions about this stone from what "Kuro" has said.))
  21. [ QUOTE ]
He sighed "I'm afraid we would have to...go with..." He realy wasn't happy about this "Saving Alice." He exhaled and Will didn't looked sad.

    [/ QUOTE ]

"Kuro" could tell that the choice was hard for both of them. "I'd hoped that was what you would decide. Take this," he told them as he took what looked like an emerald out of his pocket and set it on the table, "and pray that you will not need it in the days ahead." And with those parting words, he left.

((OOC: Left as in walked out the door, though anyone trying to follow after will find he's "disappeared."))
  22. [ QUOTE ]
"Not quite, if we leave and she gains control of the weapon she has free rein over the multiverse or atleast one universe. Yes Blind Gaurdian I understand you don't want the weapon relesed and you say Madb won't be able to control it, but we can't take the chance that she might actual do and lose out on our goal." Will nodded to Blind Gaurdian as he spoke. "And Blind Gaurdians abit of a mouthful, would you happen to have a nickname." He looked to Trevor and decided to keep the card theme up. "Mr. Joker." Will smiled.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Blind Guardian nodded at Will's assessment. "As perceptive as ever, William. However, let us not forget that there is also the person pulling Medb and King Crimson's strings. He seeks to take the horns of the weapon for his own use. The horns of my people allow us to tap into unseen energies to power our abilities, without worrying about the drain on our life force, that is.

"As for what to call me, I suppose the name Kuro would be sufficient. I need to leave soon." He turned towards Will and Trevor specifically. "I have one question for the two of you: Would your hatered of the heroes of Paragon City prevent you from doing what would need to be done to prevent another incident like what happened with Alice?"

((OOC: Some side notes: Shortly before the post where Ghost went schitzo (the talking to no one post), JiD seemed to have disappeared. Also, BG knows that he has given Will and Trevor a hard choice, what he doesn't know is how far they'd be willing to go.))
  23. [ QUOTE ]
"Would you mined making this abit clearer?"

    [/ QUOTE ]

Blind Guardian leaned back in his chair, appearing as if he were looking at the ceiling if he'd had use of his eyes. "I can only assume that he has decieved one or both of them. Macbeth has probably seen that his final end is near and in desperation has latched onto any thing that might allow him to end his life on his own terms, even if that particular plan will not do what he's been told it would. You see, while my people are quite powerful, none has the kind of raw power needed to unmake even one reality, let alone the multiverse.

"As far as Medb is concerned, while she may believe and wish to stop the distruction she has told you about, she still has her own motives for gaining control of the weapon. I have no doubt that she has been told that it is the only way to prevent having her soul ejected from her body when King Crimson's current host dies. She has far more resources than she realizes at her disposal at this very moment that will allow her to break free of the 'curse' that has claimed the direct line of Macbeth.

"The reason Medb and King Crimson seem to have been so easy to manipulate is because they fixate to much on a given problem that they don't see all the solutions, especially problems dealing with their respective continued existance."
