((OOC: We are going to have to do a little bit of manipulating of the facts in order to explain where in the Tower your character was (he couldn't get directly into the room from the outside world based on what I'm working on establishing for the fortress). Also, send me a background and a list of ablities and goals for your character. I can explain the reasons for this via PM.))

"My name is Dark Mason and I come from a group of wizards that live near a powerful nexus line and guard the Scepters of Power." There was some gasping at this point but he went on"One day I decided to steal the Scepter of Darkness. As soon as my hands touched it darkness flowed into me and I gained the power to control and shape it as well as control demons that spawned in the underworlds. As for how I got here it took a hefty bit of magic to locate this place and even more to get here but the Scepter"he indicated a marking on his chest that looked as if something as been burned into him there"gave me enough power to do it.I'm here because I don't like anyone having more power then me and this sounded like something that if I possessed it I would have more power then anyone."

(I hope that helps explain about him )

"I am sorry, Nomegeh, but any further details will have to be given to the Hegemon in person. If she wants it, then she must come to me. I will continue once the minion has been escorted out."

[/ QUOTE ]
"Wisely spoken," the cloaked figure responded. "Normally the Hegemon would be too busy to attend a simple orientation meeting, but if we're dealing with living superweapons, then her advice is badly needed. When I inform her of what's at stake, she'll certainly want to attend in person."

"I think she's out doing Christmas shopping, though, so it may take me a little while to track her down. I urge you not to make any rash decisions in her absence."

With that, 'Nomegeh' strides out of the room.

[OOC: I'm going out of town for the holidays and won't be able to post much for a while.]

Medb steapled her fingers in thought. "I trust that our facilities were sufficient for aiding you with dealing with your artifacts. As to what we have been discussing, I've just finished explaining to them the goal I'd expressed to you before letting you attend to your own urgent buisness."

((OOC: I'm new in this thread, so I'm sorry if I'm disrupting anyone else's story.))

Jack in Diamond was on his way to his next target, when somebody came out of a nearby alley. He was black, with an enormous afro and dark glasses. His disco medallion glinted in the sunlight, and that rediculous suit that was so popular back in the seventies made it almost impossible for JiD to keep a straight face. "Who are you?" asked JiD. "I'm Disco Inferno," said the man, bursting into flame as he spoke, "I hear you're gettin' guys to join your posse, sounds funky, count me in!" Despite how odd he seemed, JiD thought he might prove valuable, "Ok, go to this location," he said, pointing at a map. "I'll boogie my way there now," said the burning dancer as he sped off at an amazing speed. "Freak," was all Jack in Diamond could say when Disco Inferno was gone, as he continued on his way to the next recruitment.

((OOC: Let's just assume that yours was a flashback so that we can bring you in more readily. Let's assume that Disco is touring the MPDF:T after having heard the general speil that was given before as he was exceptionally early, as was Dark Mason.))

----The night of the meeting----

Medb sighed after the robot left, it seemed this meeting would have to close early, besides it would be best to have everyone her when she revealed her full plans anyway, as well as the family secrets. "I think now would be a good time to break, seeing as how I only wish to go over this next bit once. You are free to wander this facility if you wish as the doors that each of you are allowed through are keyed to recognize your indevidual essences, just like the barrier and gates you all passed through when you entered here, so no one can enter where they are not allowed. Also, feel free to get to know one another as many of you will be working quite closely. I would like to speak with Mr. Book and Mr. Kirke privately." She motioned for the two men to follow her to a secret door behind her seat at the table.

((OOC: Feel free to establish the layout of Tower. I'm willing to leave this up to you since it could theoretically have just about anything in it and could be any size. Also, think about a Tarot card, preferably Major Arcana, that would be associated with your character (based on background or personality), this will come up at the end of the meeting when the full plan is revealed. This is a good source for the meanings of the cards. Edit: The Chariot and the Reversed Sword Page are taken.))

Mr. Book raised an eye brow and walked through the open door with his hands held firmly behind his back.

'The plot thickness." He thought to himself.

Kirke's every instinct told him to refuse and leave, but this whole situation was really gnawing at his curiosity and he just HAD to know what would happen ('that attitude is going to get you killed someday,' he scolded himself). Besides, he reasoned as he followed the other two through the door, if it turned out to be a trap the posh guy with the powers would most likely be their main target, and he might be able to slip away quickly.

Medb noted that Kirke seemed to be considering if he should follow her into the private meeting, no doubt suspecting a trap and trying to determine if he could escape if his suspisions prooved true. The woman smiled at this.

Soon the three reached another opulent room that seemed to be an office of a sort. Around the room could be seen bobbles and trinkets from various time periods and locations, some of which seemed to have been rather alien. Thier host motioned for them to sit before she leaned against an antique looking desk.

"I've brought the two of you here because I believe that you both will be the linch-pins in this entire endevor... More specificaly, you both will have to give the call as to if and when a red light must be placed on the final stage of the operation..."

((OOC: thanks, I just caught myself up, so I'm not totally clueless.))

Meanwhile, back in the meeting room with the Horned King, Mr.dark, and Dark Mason, a man in full disco suit walked in.
"How's it hangin' guys, I got the info early like 'Mas' over there. Did you know this place has ping-pong? This sucka wouldn't even play. He said he's 'too sophisticated to play such an asanine game with the likes of me!' He obviously ain't heard of me. I'm Disco Inferno!" said this bizarre person as he burst into flames. Despite that disjointed tyrade, he could tell they weren't going to attack him, so he resolved that they were all weaklings and pushovers. "So, either of you wanna play me?"

After watching the machine walk out of the meeting and by Trevor and Will waited a bit eagerly for the rest to leave. Well Trevor was eager anyway, Will was lost in thought again.
Trevor looked at his 5 foot 3 compainion. The man leaned on the wall trying to piece together the puzzle of Medb. That was the main reason he liked the man so much, he had a sharp mind and while slow to form an opinion that was the main reason he was alive today.(that and the fact that he could throw a man much taller than him across a room) Will also had an interesting body type, while he had the hard earned body of a muscle builder his shoulders remained small, in baggy clothes like he wore you could easily mistake him for weak. Very handy
Trevor had a much taller and wirey build, unlike his friend he was no brawler, he had the pleasent advantage to being an unnoticable mutant. The only thing that betrayed him was his inability to sweat, not that anyone every noticed or realize that it had anything to do with mutation.
He scratched his dark red hair. The only reason he could see for the newspaper labeling them brothers was that thier hair color was the same,
"Have any theories on what the machine is?" Trevor asked growing impatient as he eyed the door.
Will stared at space a moment befor answering "I'm not to sure about the Fem-bot, I think I'm missing something."
"Missing something? Well her name would have been nice. How about the Horned..." Trevor trailed off as Disco Inferno walked by, Trevor couldn't stand the loudmouth. He walked by and into the meeting. Well with luck this would at least smoke Kikre out of there.

OCC note: This is my first RP so tell me if I've done anything wrong. I didn't realize the cards didn't come in yet, my mistake. And as for there location (I did poorly on describing it) is next to the door where the meeting was being held.

((OOC: Whoa there, Hermod, the tarot cards were mentioned OOC and haven't come up in the story yet. Let's not jump the gun. I am wondering where this scene is taking place. I'm assuming they are somewhere in the Mobile Pocket-Dimensional Fortress: Tower (name inspired by "Mobile Battleship Nadesco") but a specific room would be nice.

As a suggestion for jumping into Open RPs in the future, try to introduce your characters by having them interact with an already established character or joining a set of events that are still unfolding. I'm sure that some of the others can give you better tips than I can.))

Disco Inferno was taking an inventory of who he could trust or depend on. Medb is too busy playing leader. The Mason didn't consider him on the same level as the other members of the team, considering the whole ping-pong incident. Mr. Dark didn't seem like someone to trust your life to under ANY circumstances. Now, the Horned King, he seemed to see through the loudness right into the skill Inferno possessed. What he thought of that skill level, Inferno couldn't tell. As for the two with the red hair, he could tell how impressed they were with him when one of them trailed off as he passed. They'll be even more impressed once they see his skill in battle, as years of working alone has honed his skills into a deadly conflagration of annihalation. As the ryhme concluded, he burst into flames again. "Oops, my bad. So, who's up for ping-pong?"

Dark Mason walked into his room and sat down on his bed.He knew that there was something he needed to know and that he didn't know it.After pausing to make sure the door was locked he looked into the two spheres that hung in the air around him buzzing like two little satelites around his head invisable to anyone but him.He sighed and concentrated on what he knew of each of the persons and which one of them he could trust his scepters too without letting them know about it and/or cause too much trouble with them.He knew not too trust Mr.Dark.The horned king was hardly better and then it hit him:Kirk. While they were safe with him he woudn't dare use them becuase of me and he wouldn't know till it was too late.He laughed and turned the two spheres into two pieces of medel, white and red colored and then set off to find Kirks room...

Trevor stared after the old man as he walked away
Completely ignored, like he didn't matter.
It was not the normal kind of shunning, this was the kind that comes from a man who knows he's superior and knew he could get away with it. Trevor would have like to teach him other wise. No, no sense making enemies if it could be avioded. He unwillingly remberered how his meeting with medb had went, his hand clenched into a fist.
He turned to talk to Will. Will was looking at the door to the meeting room door. Trevor realised that it was slowly closing and caught a glimps of the inside.
Horned God was seated still, Trevor couldn't decide if he was human or if he ever was.
And there was another man he didn't know the name of inside. How many was that now, 3 at least. When Trevor looked at him he got a strange uneasy feeling. Like the one you get when your cats licking your face at 6 in the morning and suddenly it dawns on you, you don't own a cat.
And of course there was Disco Inferno Trevor noted with a bit of contempt.
As the door slide shut Trevor realised that he hadn't seen Kirke or that guy with the funny clothes. 4, 4 names. And Medb was gone, a bad sign. Trevor didn't bother with trying to figure out where they had went.
He turned to Will. "Which?"
Will toke a deep thoughtful breath.

(OCC Notes: So no one is confused. The old man is Dark Mason. The guy giving off the uneasy feeling is Mr. Dark. And finally The man in the strange clothes is Mr.Books

"Linch-pin?" Kirke wasn't sure whether to be pleased or worried at this distinction He certainly hadn't expected it. He glanced briefly at Mr. Book, trying to determine his reaction, but the creepy aristocrat's face was unreadable.

"Why us?" he asked suddenly, eyes narrowing behind his goggles. "There are quite a few rather 'talented' people here. How are we so important?"

Disco Inferno was looking around the tower some more, after making his prescence known in the meeting room. "Looks like I'll need to watch my own back, as I doubt the others I've met will," he thought, "Although, who were those other people I heard mentioned around the room? Kirke, Mr. Book, and Hegemon? Could one of them possibly be someone to rely on if things get heavy?" He resolved not to make any decisions until he met them, lest he place his trust in the wrong one and end up dead. Then, he walked into a room that seemed as if it were created just for him. "They've got a DANCE FLOOR!" he exclaimed before getting down with his bad self.

Meanwhile, the Hegemon steps out of an alley and onto a deserted street. She is a gold-and-white robot with an expressionless white faceplate. Under one arm she carries a large shopping bag, and a bundled-up robe that looks suspiciously like "Nomegeh's"

She contemplates the shop window in front of her. A banner reads, "Post-Xmas Savings! 20% off all Holiday Goods!" The "20%" has been crossed off, and subsequently replaced with "30%", "50%", and finally "80%"

"Finally!" she says. "I thought they'd stay at 50% forever." With that, she throws a brick through the shop window. An alarm sounds, but is silenced as she touches a spot inside the window frame. She selects several hideous red-and-green scarves from the display case and puts them in her shopping bag. After some brief hesitation, she takes one last scarf; this one is embroidered with a picture of a penguin.

She checks an internal chronometer. "It's time for me to return to the meeting, I think." She strides purposefully down the street, but then stops suddenly. "If I was just going to steal these, then I really didn't need to wait for them to lower the prices. Sloppiness," she mutters to herself. "I need to be more careful. There's too much at stake."

Kathy made her way into the warehouse. She was seeping dark energy all around her.
"Hello boys, what did I miss?" Kathy said.

Patience Trevor thought as he stared atthe meeting door. Patience is key if you want to make a sale he quoted directly from the... his former employers handbook. It felt as if he had waited for days just for someone to leave the meeting. He wished he had stopped the robot and got a little chat in with it. He looked at the flipped coin to make sure he had seen it correctly. On the floor was a quarter heads up. He sighed, he would rather talk to someone who at least looked human.

"The why and the what actually go hand in hand," Medb replied, "but the 'what' can be answered the most directly. The nature of this endevor will require two lookouts, one of whom must have a strong connection to the spirits of men. I can go into more detail later, but suffice it to say, there is one man in particular who poses the greatest risk the success of the summoning of this living weapon as such intreference from him would nullify our own existence as well as causing the distruction of all things that would be necissary to achieve your future goals..." She was interupted by what sounded like a beeping noise. Medb reached over the desk and pressed a previously unseen button. "What's the problem?"

The two men could hear man talking but they couldn't make out what was being said. "Show me," Medb responed to the industinct, disembodied voice. A panel raised on one wall revealing a screen.

To her surprise, no one was actually IN the warehouse, causing her to look around in puzzlement.

((OOC: The warehouse is not where the meeting is actually taking place, but rather it's one of many randomised entry points to an artificial pocket dimension/fortress. Just a reminder to all those looking to join.))

The tall woman's eyes narrowed. "Bring her into one of the auxiluary stations and seal doors to her essence untill further notice." Medb then smiled, an idea forming. "One more thing: send me everything we know about her, she could prove to be useful."
