  1. I have no idea whats needed for you're project but I wiped this out



    I can't remember who, but someone on the boards recently remade most of the Icons in the game. They may have art assest on hand that can do this way better then me.

    For the Statesman symbol I have a feeling GG may have a something that can be used.

    She's friendly, don't be afraid to ask.

    If my cheesy graphic is the only thing you can find to use, I've saved the Photoshop Document and I can give that too you. Or send you whatever file type would work best.

    If you chose to save this image (it's a png) right click and save as. I you click copy image and try to paste it into a image editting program the transparent layer will be black (maybe white).
  2. I'm not saying Vets don't spend extra time at the trainer weighing all the options, but the fact that each of you has the name of every power in every power pool memorized means you get to spend more time at the trainer in the decision phase and not in research mode.

    First off I'm going to work hard to be waaay less of a ***** in this thread today.

    I'm not familiar with the Gunslinger quick draw. It's killed my characters plenty of times, but is it similar to Ice Sword, Fire Sword and the Stone Mallets that players can use?

    I'm gonna use the Bring It has an example one more time. If I summon Stone Mallet and have it in my hands and use Bring It, the Mallet is removed from my hands and the emote doesn't play. Once the animation for Bring It starts I can resummon the mallet in the middle of the animation and the emote isn't effected.

    I also believe stance is determined before animation. If you're a DP/Dark for example, Twilight Grasp will never animate if you don't have an enemy NPC targeted, but every time you have guns in your hands and you click Twilight Grasp the gun models are flushed from your hands. I assume this is because the game is getting ready to change stances, cleaning out the hands, but when the game goes to animate the power it realizes the proper conditions to use Twilight Grasp aren't being meet and you end up just standing there in a neutral state.

    I'm not in this thread because I think redraw is killing anyone's DPS and I don't want aesthetics to no longer be a consideration. I just think there are a few places around the game where redraw could be removed. Having to look at the same Redraw animation over and over gets monotonous and I have to start shelving characters because I need a break from the animation.

    You can either post the costume file you want used for Statesman pinata to the forums.

    Or you can make an AE arc with a boss using your coustume of choice and let me know the storyarc number.

    Or we can work out a time for me to pop onto your server and I'll demorecord you.

    There's a few problems I haven't worked out with Huge models and wings but I have the art assests and demo files ready to go for female and male models. I'm more then willing to help you with any of the steps needed to get your costume in my hands.
  6. Gut it. Save the costume at the tailor though. That way you can still visit them in some way when you want.

  8. I wish there was a way to tell if new players are subscribers or using a trial account without asking them.

    Once a player hits level 6 though I can tell if this is their first time through the game. They spend extra long at the trainer since they have all those new pool powers to choose from.

    First time I ever hit level 6 and got to go through all those pool powers was so fun, and the flood of character concepts that opened up in my mind from the possible powers combinations was amazing.

    I physically smile when I see a team member on the map standing next Praetor Duncan and I know they are thinking about whats the first power pool they're going to take.

    I frown in Imperial City when I see new people standing next to the store for so long. That menu listing every origins DOs should show DOs the player can use at the top of the list.

    Can you post a photo of what the river looks like in normal times from that spot you shot the video?

    I hope this passes quickly, having to wake up in the morning and then going to bed at night with the fear of mother nature being the only thing you can think about is a horrible experience.

    Where you able to bypass the launcher and boot any of those games directly. I'm worried this new system won't allow me to skip a verify files screen.

    I got curious how many players are using Linux, and I have no way to properly get that number. I can however tell what operating systems is being used if someone is viewing an image I post on this site.



    I can give a dozen reasons why these numbers aren't representing Linux and Mac fairly, but I did find it interesting that with such a small sample Linux showed up almost 2 percent of the time.

    The animation system hasn't changed from then till now. It's still a massive waste of time and resources for a minimal return. You're basically looking at a year or two of no new animation work, no new enemy models, no new environmental animations, etc. in order to eliminate redraw.
    You can choose new animations for several powers now Starcloud, was the animation system being used in anyway like that when babs made this statement. Did Swap Ammo exist yet? I dont remember any toggles that control anther powers FX before Swap Ammo.

    Anyway I hope BaBs trained the new guy, since Babs showed up at worked one day and got told to clean out his desk.

    Babs decided to make emotes cause weapon draw when they didn't before. Does the new guy collecting Babs old paycheck have to keep all Babs decisions in place? Who cares if someone has their claws out when they do Bring It? How many other places can force redraw be removed?

    Wasn't Babs the guy who said we'd never have Power Customization? That's a real question, since I seem to remember alot of people yelling dead horse and quoting BaBs when people asked for Power Customization.
  16. Login to the game with say a dual blades character,
    put your weapons in your hands and type /emote bringit. Nothing happens but the weapons go away. The Bring It emote has been coded to call FXDESTROY to remove the swords from your hands. BaBs made that decision because it looks awful when you animate that Emote with the sword in your hand.

    The same thing happens with Claws. you can't animate bringit with the claws out. The game kills the claws FX and you stand there and have to type /emote bringit a second time.

    Babs made this decision based on aesthetics, and aesthetics is one of the most important things. I used to be able to do a ton of emotes with a weapon model in my hand, these days they're aren't that many. Babs and what ever help he had, went in and added code that flush out weapon.fx on all those emotes. BaBs was a professional and he really cared about his work, but he made certain design decisions that are not some concreate rule the guy whos now working in BaBs old cubicle.

    Was this quote before or after those R-type programmers completed their work?

    BaBs worked here for years and tons of stuff has changed but he's constantly quoted as if he just said this yesterday.

    Somebody tells me Babs said something without giving me a date the only thing I know is he must of said it before he turned of his mailbox and stopped posting because he found dealing with us to be too much of a hassle.

    Stance refers to position of the model, its not calling weapon models or FX in any way. FX effects are being overwriten (suppressed?) when any other attack FX is attached to your character.

    I think every AT should get a new inherent power, a toggle call Igore Aesthics. This power would allow me to treat any weapon models attached to my coustume as an aura and not a weapons FX. If Shields and the way it's animations work outside the system means it can't use this power have the game check powerset choices at character creation and if you chose shields you have to deal with redraw.

    I can run atomic aura on my hands no matter what animation or what powers I use. Let me use a toggle to put those guns in my hands all the time. If the toggles running the game would see that and not force me into constat redraw.
