Yeah I thought I might be kinda close, but I still need it would seem too much recharge, and with a lot of sets tied up in def bonuses and health/regen/damage, it would seem it would be too much of an investment.
I just figured with high recharge in thunder kick and storm kick, and add perma hasten on top of that, you'd be able to get a chain of just those two powers. Having heard that storm kick is one of the best dps powers out there, thought it might be worth lookin into.
Thanks a ton for the super fast replies, I love you guys. -
I've also noticed, what I could only tell, is a random alternating dodged, avoided, and deflected. don't think ive seen absorbed on my /sr. Have seen in during mog as everyone has said.
I think it should say "what the hell are you doing pvp'n with an /sr toon"
I could do pretty decent between when they released IOs and before they nerfed PvP, so anymore I really don't even try, especially after I seen a ss/wp brute take down a stone tank like it was a -5 minion. -
Nice Matrix quote.
My main, ma/sr, has a description of I know Kung Fu. At first, 4 years ago, i'd get comments like nice bio etc., but nowadays I think ppl just think im lazy.
If your not intentionally quoting the matrix, sorry for gettin off track. -
I swear I tried searchin before posting this rather simple question, but with no luck.
My ma/sr currently has 52.5% recharge through quickness and set bonuses.
My question is if I took hasten and 3 slotted it with recharge, would that be enough for perma, and if not, what kinda recharge do you need without hasten to get it perma once you use it, and what kinda recharge do you need in hasten, 3 SOs or IOs, or do you have to 6 slot it. -
yeah ive been lookin for the notice as well, with no luck finding anything

Get all the passive accolades, they bump your health up and increase your max end to 110, which i believe makes you recover faster as well as its a percentage. Miracle and Numina uniques are worth any price for a /sr. I run 3 sr toggs and tough/weave, and after really long AV fights my end might be at half, but could sustain for a lot longer. I have full sets in my attacks, no frankenslotting.
Seems like for a bs or kat/sr, you could factor in having melee def coming from your parry attack, and not have to slot much if at all for melee def, as one stacking should get you soft capped. Seems like an option at least until you get the money to drop that attack. -
I think for an issue devoted to a new tf, its pretty lackluster. Yes the ending is cool, but the other 4 missions are pretty vanilla.
I ran it with my ma/sr, and a full team of 8, and I swear he was popping unstoppable every minute there at the end. Really annoying.
I say that they devs need to generic their own AV, as he coudln't look anymore like M.Bison from Street Fighter without actually being called that.
I tried it redside, but we had 8 to start, 1 quit during first mission, 1 kept dc'n so much that they were never there, so needless to say it was a bust.
Pyscho Crusher !!!!! -
I have a kin def, so I'll share my stories with it. As far as Ice goes, I think a lot of people skip several powers from it, but don't remember which ones.
I would still get stamina even with transference. You don't have to get a travel with Inertial reduction, but I ended up getting one anyway as I hated stopping to reuse the power, but Im kinda weird. You could easily skip it. Ive never had it come in handy on teams as 99% of people have their own travel power.
Fulcrum Shift is your bread and butter, and in a large group you can get everyone close to the damage cap.
I would still say that speed boost is still my favorite power, as the ability to not make end an issue for the whole team, all the time, plus increasing recharge just comes in handy all the time. Take it as soon as possible, I slot 3 end mods in mine, maybe one range cause I had the slot to spare, helps from chasing people down.
There is a good bind around here that makes the keypad 1-8 to speed boost that teammate number, which helps a lot. A little searching and I'm sure you could find it.
The sleep power I'd definatly skip unless you solo. -
I realize blind has to be stacked for bosses, but flash will do that, were as deceive also has to be stacked, but has nothing else to stack it with.
Think I'll keep it just for the cool factor u described, as its fun to confuse the big hitters and have them kill each other, even tho ppl on ae teams tell you not to. -
Yeah guess that is very true also, good point yeti.
Seems like one could have just the pets and holds to stack on bosses and be fine without deceive, especially since spectral terror is perma outta the box, and deceive has to be stacked to work on bosses anyway. -
One thing I have noticed with just Ill, is that it seems spectral terror and deceive don't mesh well. The confused dude seems to end up sittin there shaking more than he is attackin his buddies, so I'm wonderin if deceive more useful for the low levels, and looses a lot of its utility later on.

Yeah I can see ill/therm as well by that point. Guess I still want to roll a emp def one day and therm is pretty close. Seems like sonic bebuffs more than therm and sonic seemed more unique than emp or therm to me.
I'm 32 now and haven't tried out my new shiny pet, so I'd say there will be another ill in my future -
And sonic also has a single target res debuff which fire has, and sonic has the aoe one, which seems cooler than the rad one target wise. The target might wonder off or die, but put the sonic one on the tank or scrap, and its always running without having to re-apply.
Yeah, bubs might make more sense I guess, but i have a bub/arrow def and wanted something totally different, which is why i didn't roll a ill/kin as i have a kin/psy.
I'm enjoyin the toon a lot more than i thought i would. I've tried trollers in the past, and haven't made it past 14. Guess I had a few more scrappers to roll before i'd lose some scrapper lock...although I still find myself running toward an enemy to hold them for some reason. -
Yeah i was talking about both in the same sentence and made it sound a bit weird.
If the debuffs are good then liquify is sold.
Sonic cage im still not sold on. I'm guessin you use it on the AV while the mobs around it are cleared?
All team, i hate solo'n -
Awesome guys good notes.
I was wondering about liquefy's usefulness. I have a bubbler def and i've found its cage is decent at best. My big plan was to use it on nictus healer but never got it to work, as i've seen from threads here lately that it wasn't just me.
Flash seems really good, but you have to be in melee for it, but I guess once I get pets it won't matter to much to rush in and use it once they piss everyone off.
I'm already loving deceive. Good call on the tsoo sorcerers too. Does it work on FF generators in turning their buff to you instead of the enemies?
I think my biggest challenge will be taking Muon's last point of advise, and focusing on support instead of damage. I mainly scrapper, and it will be tough gettin used to not popin the orange numbers, but I think I can do it after some focus.
Disruption field does seem really good as it has mez protection I believe, or at least some hold or slow, i forget, don't have it yet.
One question is spectral wounds. Seems good early on, and maybe something to do while the pets are recharging. Sounds like its a winner. Nessesary or icing on the cake? Seems a straight damage attack in a troller set is unique, only other one I can think of off hand is propel, and I think you have to take it for its animation alone. -
Howdy, i'm new to trollin, and rolled an ill/sonic. Seems a late blooming set, but likin deceive so far. Sonic the shields seem good just not as good as bubbles maybe.
Guess just asking for advice on playin it, and what powers to skip and which ones are must haves, or just any advice from some experienced ill/sonics out there would be great.
Thanks. -
ma/sr, hands down my first and main. I agree with crane kick comments from above, but eagle's claw does it for me, best animation in the game.
Lemme kick something !!! -
If your always on at least a 3 man team with a tank and troller, just take all the melee, auras, and aoes cause you shouldn't have to worry about dyin, take assault as well to help overall damage.
-
my newest toon is fire/fire, and at 31 (can't wait for inferno) i just respec'd outta consume and burn i think (the aoe with the painfully slow and anti climactic animation). I always assumed an damage aura would get you killed quickly on blaster and i'm glad kirk up there confirmed it. I might try hot feet when I get high enough, but might not. I was debating on either boxing/tough or assault/tactics when i respec'd, and went with assault and tactics. I figure assault for more damage and tactics so I could slot only one acc in my powers and still hit purps.
One thing that I might suggest is taking and slotting fire sword even if you don't go into melee. This is just to take care of anything that runs towards you and survives the range blasts as they are approaching. It comes in handy, and the vet powers im assuming aren't an option yet, and you can't slot them for acc anyway, so they are unreliable at best. Its always nice to have something else to use if your in trouble, which playing fire/fire ive found myself using it quite a bit. I just switched it with fire sword circle as I plan not to enter melee.
I guess I'm just sayin it always comes in handy having one melee power for when you really need it, and fire sword seems to be your best bet.
I plan on takin fire mastery just for the self rez, and it fits concept, which fits ranged death from above more than melee (I suffer from the disorder scrapperlock, so I've spent the vast majority of my time im melee range just straight killin stuff, so I've done plenty of melee toons) -
my new toon, rad/pain, is a blast so far.
I pain really considered that bad? As far as healing goes, it seems like i generally stay pretty busy on teams. I like the heal aura cause it explains why i'm always in melee range other than scrapperlock (which is really the reason, can't be helped, too many scrappers to list).
I just hit 29 the other day and got world of pain, and it seems pretty good, although I think the damage buff should be higher, but the damage resist and tohit buff seems good. It seems like once you can get it perma, it would allow you to slot acc less in your attacks and get by with it, but i'm just going off assumptions as i'm not a hardcore numbers guy. -
I prefer wp because i can focus more on whats killing me instead of trying to heal from whats killin me. But then again my first toon and main was /sr, so i was spoiled with just having to kill it before it killed me. Nowadays its not as much of an issue as it used to be back in the day when sr wasn't the beast it is today.
Like they said though, both good, one is click heavy and has outs, the other is all passive and just have to hope you weather the storm, which u probably will, and there are always greens to pop
