less chit chat more pictures!
also, i'm down for elton john pack... -
it's good work.
Fire energy is difficult to represent I know most of the artists on the boards have been challenged by it. As a result is is very commonly represented in many different forms. Even in game you see is represented as plasma and I think there are 2-3 forms of "fire." (the aura armors blast and demon summons) I think breaking up the ring making it a little more uneven, breaking up the inner and outter rings a bit. I think you did a great job on the body, it's really the focus of the entire image. -
It's certainly much better than I could do.
Consider this, you grab someone by the back of the shirt and lift them up...the torso tends to lean forward and curve down to the legs which hang slightly bent. Now if you have some sort of harness on and a solid metal connector plate or hand lifts you, you wouldn't hang in such a way, you would be much more rigid. There's sort of a disconnect in that your robot is hanging more or less straight up and rigid even though he's hanging from cables. His center of gravity isn't being properly represented. His right leg ought to hang a bit lower as a result of the weight of the connected cable. Bending his arms a little at the elbow will give you more of a puppet/unoccupied look. Conversely having the cables pull his arms out palms up will give him great pressence, palms down, helpless. I think that's more or less what everyone else has been trying to say. -
...i didn't even see it...i feel bad now...it was right there.

I've been having trouble sleeping this week, but i'll try to make it...i don't think PB normally wears bottoms...

very nice piece.
I'm afraid i've been correpted by the commercial with the vikings going to the ski resort, and the one viking request lift tickets for "1 adult, 1 goat" every time i see your name i think of that...i know totally unrelated, i've been sitting on it for over a week now. -
if the night aint over breakfast is just a breather.

it's just a reverse grip. the range of motion is more limited at the wrist so you have to more more at the elbow and shoulder. Generally you see it used more in blocking with an off hand, but that's all irrelevent if the character says so.
Nice piece, very animated. -
grumble, now i gotta pay for this and GR.
I think the succubus outfit you made reminds me a lot of the animated witchblade. Wonder if they will ever finish off the metal set. -
hehehe, it isn't a big deal. In my photography class we watched a movie on composition from a guy that probably did pron in the 70's. Anyway there's one scene where he stands in front of a set of antlers in just such a way that they appear to sprout from his head, it was freaking hilarious. So, I always remember to check for that anytime someone takes a picture.

must wait till boss leaves to check...and any customers...>_>

Ok neko now look at the rest of the artworks :P those are pretty good too. lol. Really nice work, unleashing force was particular striking. The white in the eye's gives them quite a bit of pop.
-
looks pretty good, I prefer the first one too. I think the lines are a better fit. Have you talked to your artist yet? What did they have to say about it?

well i'm sure this has been brought up. I thought the original reason there was a prompt was because the power could give out a negative effect (death) so you could opt out of that chance for risk. Now that there is no negative effect from death (i know some people don't like the fool, but it's not the worse buff in the world) I don't see a reason to have the prompt anymore, i was happy it was gone. I don't care that it is there either.
RPer's, aside from the rare case where your character has a severe distaste for magic...you can't explain this away? Where odds are you team or interact with magical personages everyday? I don't really see a reason for having the pop-up anymore. I see even less reason to complain about it.
flame on. -
redfire brings up a good point. Make sure your tatoo has good feng shui karma etc. Again your artist should know about these things. I feel like there is something about the koi's head being down that is bad karma. Of course is you feel like the old tatoo is bad luck at least having a nice looking tatoo with bad luck would be a better option...two negatives make a positive right...

Fair enough, I've never seen that done before, usually they have to cover the old one in black to make it 'disappear.' Or get enough laser done to make it light enough to cover with new ink. Perhaps that's what happened in the pic you found or maybe they did it wholesale. <shrugs> I haven't had one covered up personally just seen it done.

I was under the impression that the black area between the koi head and tail was where the da hui would be. Making the koi 2-3 times bigger than the image kaktos has. I don't think you can overlay the image as kaktos represents. the inks wont be dark enough. After a couple laser treatments it may be possible to do something like this with a much more faded da hui but right now i don't think any detail placed over the dahui would be visible. not for very long. they would merge together and form the undesired blob.
more so if you spend a lot of time in the sun, as a person with a da hui is prone to be :P
I think this is what he was thinking.

3 or 4 of those shouldn't be too hard to pull off...a white rabbit, easy, the bee, can be done, lucky charms...fenian...duh. The count i could actually see being a bit difficult but someone already has dibs on that.
Blue man group is coming to campus soon (tm) that should be one of the easier costumes to pull off. -
i knew it was old addy. Mostly because i reccomended him >_> but i thought the stitches were a dead give-away. (quite literally) a glowing rune may have sealed the deal for others but that would have added to the complexity of the image even more so.
If you take what you're doing now and expand to a full blown character you could have a pretty solid artistic style piece airhead. -
It is pretty tight. if i'm looking at it right. The da hui is inside the koi's curve correct? You'll definately have to talk to your artist about it. I think the image you have will work out pretty nicely. I wonder a bit about the detail of the scales but i think they are ok. You might try dropping both images into photoshop and playing with the fit. I'm looking at it now and it looks like it'll go from ankle to knee pretty easily, i'm sure you realize it's gonna be a big bad ar-se (expensive) tatoo when you're done.
your other option is to just remove the leg outright. lol.
more seriously though a couple rounds of laser might lighten up the da hui so it'll be easier to work with. You'll have to talk to your artist about that too.
good luck, bring back picks when you're done. -
I can't wait to see this one colored as well. It should be an impressive contrast to see the red background and blue contrast of alphas armor.
As far as reviving characters. They killed off robin and then they brought him back as nightwing...which i was never really satisfied with as a character...so if you do bring him back, make sure you don't nightwing him :P
agreeing with bindweed. -
i don't think we've got enough for a shard TF, i didn't think we'd want to do it as part of the regular ITM tf's cause it would require more time and coordination from those involved.
