Genie's Arts~

This is my highest level hero character.

"Genie of Flame" a little fire genie who is still learning about the world and loves to observe things.

She is seen most often when I am idle somewhere just levitating in mid air sitting, often surrounded by fire energy as she finds comfort within it.

I got alittle lazy on the background so I just added it a sky to it lol.

It's been a while since I've done fire energy so hope it looks ok ... she has a fire energy that pulses out in a ring around her and then also flames that actually surround her.

I am not so great with defined body's I usually hide them under really baggy clothes so I am proud of this one since it was good practice and one of these days I will lose the bad habit of hiding hands behind objects and actually learn to draw them @.@

I wanted to practice a little more and chose Stormy as my subject since she has such a tight top so it was good practice.

Her hair was a pain but I really love how it came out.

I was going to try to show her hands in this one but after redrawing the arms and failing at the hands a good 7 times I stuck em behind her like always LOL >_>;;;

Neat. Yeah hands and feet are the bane of many an artist.
I need to find a decent way to make fire fx as well... out of curiosity what are you using?

Oh and welcome to the best part of the forums Genie.

it's good work.

Fire energy is difficult to represent I know most of the artists on the boards have been challenged by it. As a result is is very commonly represented in many different forms. Even in game you see is represented as plasma and I think there are 2-3 forms of "fire." (the aura armors blast and demon summons) I think breaking up the ring making it a little more uneven, breaking up the inner and outter rings a bit. I think you did a great job on the body, it's really the focus of the entire image.

Very cool piece Genie! Some very nice "movement" to the flames around her. Well done.

On the fire subject ... it did take a while to get the flames down when I had to make some for my BBB piece but I think it turned out ok in the end. I was actually pretty proud of that part of the piece.

ChristopherRobin -- Thanks for the welcome! ^ ^

I use Paint Shop Pro 7, outdated yes but I prefer it over the new "better" versions.

The_Fox_Rox -- Thank you! And that is a great suggestion for the fire ring, I will keep that in mind should I ever do another picture of her that shows off her energy thanks for the tip and I am happy to see you think the body is well done since I really have been practicing to improve not hiding everything in baggy clothing lol.

Philly Guy -- hehe thanks and ya you're spoiled getting to see it on MSN!

Vexxa -- Thank you for the compliment and the welcome!

Thornster -- Thank you! ^^ And ya those flames you did are worth being proud of

Sorry for missing these last two replies.

Paint Shop Pro is awesome, the older versions people dont' give it enough credit. I'm so often told how I should be using photoshop because it's "better" but I tried photoshop and it takes so long just to open the program let alone figure out what everything does lol.

I personally prefer things simplified then overly complicated.

----------And I just added a new piece I just finished. Hope people like it

Yeah, I don't like PhotoShop because you need to read tutorials and stuffs to learn how to use it. It's great for advanced artistcal types, like Bobby, but for a putz like me, PSP keeps it simple.

As for the new piece, LOVE IT!! Can't wait to see more!!

Nice work Genie, I like how Stormy's hair turned out.

If the hands are really bugging you a good thing to try is looking at lots of pictures of woman's hands or if you are/have a female "handy" have her pose her fingers in various cool ways (clenched fist, casting a spell etc) and take pictures to study later... or just do a google image search for hand models.

Being able to take your own pics is better because you can choose the pose and do "just slightly different" variations of the same pose or the exact same pose but have the hands turn to face a lamp/light source and then away from it then above and below the light etc etc and after a while you will start to notice patterns, little things here and there that will make your drawn hands more believable.

Kheldarn -- I did try photoshop and it wasn't that complicated to use but I used it back when PSP7 was the latest version LOL Back then on my PC it used to take photoshop about 3 minutes JUST TO OPEN. lmao.. and thank you! I can't wait to do more! It's nice to feel inspired I've been in such an art block but now I am too inspired because I can't stop making new characters and decide which to play lmao

Christopher -- Thank you for all the suggestions. I really would like to learn I did pause and hold out my own hand in an attempt to use reference but that iddn't work out so well LOL ONE DAY I WILL GET IT. lol

Shadow -- Thank you for the complimentand welcome
