After watching these guys duo him yesterday, I can almost guarantee that it is not possible for an illu/rad to solo the head, and certainly not possible to solo the whole thing in only 2 hours.
The only way I see it as being possible is to be able to keep LR permanently on the head when you come to killing it, and seeing as it's a GM, it's going to miss a fair bit of the time, and even with AM and hasten used to best affect there's no way to keep it permanently out.

I just checked the figures and would have to agree that fire will on average do a lot more damage.

Disregarding secondaries x! (But fire probably still has more than mind..) -
For pure control, I would have to say earth/rad.
No trouble with long term control as someone said. Quake is perma, 3 qs at once, stalagmites is back before the stun duration ends, lingering rad, stone cages, volcanic gasses and all the debuffs. Can quite happily control 8 man spawns with no help. Stoney can take the alpha strike of any 52 AV also, but obviously not as well as PA.
Slightly lacking in damage as you say, but with the right epic choice that isn't a problem.
I honestly haven't seen anything else with that scale of control ability. But then, I also might be slightly biased being earth/rad n' all

Joe Chott 1.5C, which I realise is wrong on many ocassions (says Mind Over Body gives a base 50% Smash/Lethal res) but I didn't know of any others considered to be better. Will check out that one now you have mentioned it, thanks

One main thing worth considering if you haven't already chosen an epic is the def and res figures for the shields. The figures unslotted according to my planner are:
Fire Shield: 30% res Smash/Lethal and Fire, 10% res Cold
Charged Armor: 19.25% res Smash/Lethal, 14.5% res Energy
Temp Invul: 22% res Smash/Lethal
Frozen Armor: 20% def Smash/Lethal, 20% res Cold
Body Armor: 11% res Smash/Lethal -
We are a 4 man sg because we like being in a 4 man sg. It was formed after the Paragon Allstars died out around 7 months ago and dont want to abandon it because of the length of time it has been around.
Our PvP goup consists of the 4 members of the Three Lions and the Eternal Knight Walkers, we fight arena battles of all sizes, most regularly 8 man. We actually have toons in both sg's so you can pretty much consider us the same group. There is no reason for us to be in the same sg because as far as I know there isn't too much interest in base raids.
I would like to arrange a match with your group if you're interested and can get 8 level 50s. If us not being in the same sg is some kind of problem for you, then we will move our PvP toons into the same sg. -

Not really too sure why you think they otherwise as on the occasions we've faced them, it's really been the teamwork that tore us apart. They quickly identified the major threats in our team and nullified them immediately. As soon as this was done, they then systematicaly divided and conquered our weaker members. At the same time, any of the threats that had been identifed were kept in place by teamwork, with players breaking off in an orderly fashion to keep them in place.
Like Jumanji, I've also heard very little about the other groups mentioned so until I hear that one of these has been beating AoW in PvP regularly in recent times, they will be regarded as the experts by me. Regular wins eliminate the fact it could be a 'fluke' result and recent means there's no point beating them 6 weeks ago when AoW haven't lost since and have learned a lot more.

I think otherwise because in the 20 or so matches that teams I have created have fought against Art of War, they have won a grand total of 1 match (a very unbalanced 3v3).
I have nothing against them and get on well with most, so I don't want this to be taken the wrong way, but they are far from the 'experts' you portray them to be. -

You wont see the Three Lions around paragon because there is only 3 of us...(well, 4 now that we decided to let Lady join).
You'll also find that the union team for the International Challenge that you joined us for on monday was originally my team, but ks and x took over while I was away. -

Why exactly? If because they have a large amount of active PvPers then fair enough, but for skill/teamwork/ability to win against any good team they are severly lacking (no offence intended). -

Nope, I just think it's a [censored] idea. I also tried to say that in a polite way a few times.
Please, someone get 8 bubblers together and pratice at this. I'll make a random team of 8 to fight it, no-one specifically hand picked for their build, just my regular PvP buddies and we'll see how it fares.
I'd love to be proved wrong (for once!!)

To test it properly you would need 8 bubblers with PvP experience. If not the bubblers would just get spanked, or it would just be a test on feasibility rather than how it works in practice which benefits no-one, brains. -

Why not say interesting idea, i can think of a few things that might counter it, but maybe we can work out a few counters to those counters. Thats the real skill in PvP...knowing your powers, other peoples powers and knowing their limits and yours. You don't need to beat them in every category, just need to know how to nudge them out of their confort zone.
Lets get some bubblers together and try it. I have one for starters.

Ok. Interesting idea... sounds good in theory... etc.etc...
But, im afraid it is you who are not realising the power of the other ATs, and that a pff'd defender can be killed in 2 hits from the right blaster with no aid from team mates. A well organised 8 man team with no more than 2 of each AT would tear it to pieces.
Im not trying to destroy your idea in any way, but imo it's quite an awful one.
Please get a team of 8 bubblers together and prove me wrong. -

It would work. Although there are certain things that have resistance to phasing, players at the moment cannot increase their resistance to it. 3 acc and 3 recharge are just enough to perma-phase anything.

You would never be able to perma phase an opposing team in practice, and a good team would whipe you out before u got chance to start. It would lose, and lose heavily im afraid.
I can think of numerous team combo's that would win against this, with no more than 2 of each AT (maybe 3 or 4 blastersjust to be sure )

8 bubble defenders using detention field. slotted 3 acc and 3 recharge ( I have one at the moment).
Chances are that if 8 cast it on another team of 8, only 1 or 2 will fail. Thats leaves 1 or 2 onto a team of 8 defenders. With hasten and tacticas also running on all 8, the team can keep the other team 'phased' for as long at they wish, and just let the odd one out to kill them. Boring, but do-able methinks.
even against a team of 8 stalkers, running tactics and using PPF if needed would still make this a team that I don't think could be stopped.
Boring I know. But if winning is our primary objective...

There isn't many SG's on union that are specifically based around, or very interested in PvP.
The only one that I would recommend would be -=Art of War=- as their leader is quite active in arranging PvP matches, but I don't know what their policy on accepting new members is. -
