  1. Still possible that Amon is the kid of one of the characters from Avatar. There are numerous stories where the kid of a hero turns out to be a villain. Although, I could see Amon being the son of Azula. If only for the whole evil vibe that they both give.
  2. Had an interesting thought about Avatar. What if Sokka was so jealous of his friend and sister that he became Amon since they can bend and he can't? I get the impression that there is some link between Aang and Amon either through descendants or acquaintances of Aang's group.
  3. A science experiment would be something like creating a big bang, creating a very energetic material, or anything else created in a lab that destroys the planet. Creating an out of control chain reaction with the planet that converts matter to energy would be an example.
  4. Until Man colonizes the galaxy, we are never completely safe from total annihilation. The solar system is not enough since some technology might be developed that stops nuclear fusion within the Sun.

Right at this moment, humanity can be destroyed by pollution, cataclysmic changes to the environment, nuclear weapons, science experiments, biological weapons, next stage of evolution, aliens, asteroids, out of control technology like nanotechnology, and I probably am missing a few possibilities. Of course, some are more likely than others while others will take longer to be a concern.

A hundred years ago and we were too ignorant about the possibility of our own destruction. The more advanced we become, the more ways we learn that can destroy humanity.

  6. What I am considered about is those crazy nutjobs that are trying to make it a self-fulfilling prophesy. "We believe the world is going to end on Dec. 21, 2012 so we are going to make it end on Dec. 21, 2012." A discovery that refutes everything they believe is not going to sway them at all.
  7. Just waiting for the first person to die from a transforming robot because he was in his transforming car when it transformed.

The scripts for the next 3 episodes were available for a limited time, but I can't find them. Apparently, there was supposed to be an episode where the crew dealt with the secret Earth organization that helped build those Shadow/Earth hybrid ships.
  9. According to wikipedia, Avatar made about $2.8 billion in the box office. Should be interesting to see how badly Avengers trounces Avatar's record.
  10. College Humor is celebrating May the 4th with posting all their Star Wars content on the front page.

  11. Must be going through serious Star Trek withdrawal since the last Star Trek was 7 years ago, but the JJ Abrams garbage is not doing anything for it. It seemed like a cop out to do a Star Trek reboot. Will see it and maybe Khan will redeem this series.
  12. Just had a thought that was inspired by this movie. Would projectile weaponry be very effective against Jedi since they like to deflect blaster bolts coming their way. Of course, regular projectile weaponry would be useless, but make every bullet an explosive round that blows up when cut should be deadly against a jedi. Of course, a machine gun might be effective against jedi since they should be faster than a jedi's ability to react.
  13. True space exploration won't start until a space elevator is built or some new technology is developed that makes leaving Earth inexpensive. A way to shield an object from the effects of gravity would be very effective, but spacecraft using that technology would need to be launched from places like Mt. Everest or there is a good chance that the spacecraft would have a very high collision rate with the ground. After all, the Earth continues to move so having an object that does not move makes using propulsion to leave Earth's orbit obsolete. Why use rocket fuel, when it is so much easier to launch a spacecraft by doing nothing except activate some sort of energy field.

    Grimm 4-27

Kind of seemed weird that the Grimms were the Boogeyman of the Boogeymen since Nick just seemed to see who was not human. It is not even that great of a power. He is around the Captain all the time and doesn't realize what the Captain is. With the curing of the witch and innate fighting skills, it seems to make more sense why the Grimms are feared.

Anyone else want a sword made out of platiniridium alloy? I must play too many rpgs that have some sword made by a meteorite.
  16. That sucks. The internet is supposed to be about tearing down borders not maintaining the old ones. In other words, another lousy company that has decided that certain content must remain in the States.

Seems like a consolation prize to the Darwin Awards not an honorary one.
  18. Robot Wars. Said Robot and Mecha shows so it can include nonfictional shows.

Not a Darwin Award if the person is still able to reproduce. If Chuck Norris kicked them in the groin, then they would be eligible for the Darwin Awards. Since he didn't, then they aren't eligible.

    Classic
Doesn't the Darwin Award require the person to die or no longer able to reproduce as a direct result of this major act of stupidity? Mugging Chuck Norris with knives is incredibly stupid, but is not eligible for the Darwin Award.
  21. Yeah Hulk is the most disturbing one of the bunch. Although that is probably because I am a guy that likes hyper-sexualized contortionist poses of women in Movie Poster, Comic Books and well, just about everywhere.

    Eureka 4/23

I am hoping that Felicia Day's character becomes the Ghost in the Machine and really screws over the opposition. Ming-Na's character's actions might have convinced that Beverly is no longer safe with her organization and get help from Carter since everyone is expendable in that organization.
  23. It could be that Amman is doing a master chi technique to the brain. All powers originate in the brain according to some stories and Avatar can be the same as those stories like Heroes as far as where powers originate. If Amman was a secret Fire or Water Bender, then he could do a lobotomy on benders. I think Amman is some bender that learned a new type of bending. After all, there is at least three bending techniques that aren't the classical four, blood, metal, and swamp.
  24. So if I keep pressing the button, would I get this to happen?
  25. Sounds like the 1500 has basic customization options while the 200 has indepth customization which requires a sales rep to help you with it.
