    MMs and PvP

    Out of interest have you tried to use a heavy againts the turrets whilst keeping your zombies beside you in bodyguard mode with any success.

    Lo mate, glad to hear you have things sorted, I will add you both to global tonight, but I am trying to get a problem with my M-Mind sorted out in RV at the mo.
  4. Would it be possible to ask a hero for help in RV as I am trying to test the capability of using a Heavy whilst kepping my necro zombies in the 'Bodyguard' mode. I actually want to get attacked and attack back but not killed just to test this.

    This might look like a hijack of thread but its not. Im asking is it acceptable as I WANT to PVP but im not sure a necro MM will be able to.

    I think the problem may have been the defensive setting on your horde of undead. IIRC, in that settnig, if one pet gets attacked, then they all try to go and help. In aggressive, it seems less likely to happen like that.

    It certainly seems that way.

    Well I was out of melee range but as the bot went in he got hit with the turrets (obviously) so from what you are saying the zombies by defaut will go to help him (and die) leaving me squishy.

    Sort of defeats the idea of 'Bodyguard' if you have a heavy.

    So now im wondering if I can use any pets (necro) to attack in PVP under bodyguard mode, it appears not as once one gets hit the rest will run and leave me squishy.

    A necro MM looks pretty useless now with a heavy set to attack turrets.

    What way did you command your heavy, my zombies all headed for the turrets with him set at defensive/follow ie Bodyguard mode
  7. For Bodyguard mode pets have to be set to defensive/follow.

    This is definatley the way I had mine set and the where right beside me so well within supremacy rance. When I sent in the Heavy usine attack my target from his own command line all pets ran in.

    This surly cannot be right.

    I now use defensive/follow followed by attack my target (all pets) then follow me.

    It is my view that bodyguard mode was designed to help MM with defence in PVP but if they follow the Heavy i am doomed. I died within seconds at lvl43 when they ran off as a lvl 50 hero kinly splatted me (hope he enjoyed taking a lone MM trying to sort out his pets). I was only villian on the RV map server at the time.
  8. Maybe just me being new in PVP with my Mastermind so bear with me.

    Took my necro/dark into RV last night and picked up a Heavy to go tackle the Pill Boxes, I set all pets to bodyguard mode and headed to the first Pill Box. When I was in range I sent the Heavy over to take on the first turret, immediatly all my henchmen took off to attack the Turret as well needless to say they where wiped out by the turrets almost instantly. Panic set in and I recalled ALL pets (well those left barely alive), set to bodyguard and sent in the Heavy again and off they go again.

    Question.

    Is it possible to have my henchment set to bodyguard mode and send in the heavy on his own to take out the turrets, if so what am I doing wrong.
  9. 2 regharge reduction = permanent ability to use power i.e. by the time soul extraction (ghost) dissapears you will have the ability to use the power again, Perma

    3 regharge reduction = stacked = ability to use the power before the 1st soul extraction (ghost) dissapears. So not one but 2 ghosts out, Stacked

    I would like one myself but mine aint broke yet so I cannot justify it. Hope it breaks soon lol.

    Im baffled, that should have fixed the overheating issue for sure.

    Im gonna upgrade soon myself but I will do the full system upgrade, CPU, motherboard and GFX card.

    I have had my PC for 2yrs now so a new one is on the horizon.

    Themal Compound provides the conduit for heat despersion between the chip and heatsink without it CPU chips would fry.

    K not a problem, this is easy (once you have the thermal paste/compound) I done it myself at home and im no pc tech wizard.

    My card went like this after 1.5 yrs.

    Any PC repair shop will have the likes of Artic Silver (google it) or something similar, its not expensive.

    You need to clean the old stuff off with Isopropyl or something similar. again a good PC shop should have some.

    Its as simple as this.

    Unplug PC from mains and touch case to remove any static from yourself (textbook stuff). Take out gfx card and remove the heatsink fron chip and clean off the old compound with Isopropyl and a cotton bud from heatsink and chip. Put on some compound (not too much, size of grain of rice) replace heatsink.

    Sound complicated but its a 5 min job and your good to go.

    Lo mate,

    How old is the card? big problem that happens with GFX cards is the thermal compound becomes hardened and ineffective so the chip overheats. As you are taking the pc apart already to clean, I would advise you to replace the thermal compound. As your card takes 5 mins to crash I would suggest its overheating. This happened to me with my 9800 pro.

    Slot shadow fall 1/2 end 3 res 0-2 def, in that order. end has not been that much of a problem but now im in the 42's I see it being used up more and more so I can see your point

    Aid other even when you have twilight grasp? If you really want it, at least give it decent amount of slots. can you advise a replacement power pool

    DS needs 3 rech to perma. DS is my best mate so i understand you advising perma but i usually only bring him out when im fighting bosses/AV's so I find the slots better used to enhance him when I do bring him out, but would like to hear your view on the slotting of DS

    Give dark embrace one EndRdx. Totally agree, my mistake in the first place

    Soul tentacles could use damage as above

    Don't bother slotting acro, 6-slot your PPP hold however. agree

    Also, I suggest you swtch the power order so that you have SJ at L14, it's very good if you need to malefactor down. agree

    To me the important thing is getting the slots in the right place as I can swap the SO's around as infamy is not an issue anymore, I might change to TP as my travel power if they fix it. That will come with the next respec.

    I have swapped some powers for others that I seldom use and feel I would get more advantage from the ones I have replaced them with, I wonder if those amoung you can (from your own experience) note those changes. Possibly hard to do if ya don'y know my first config, but it is possible if ya know the limitations/expectations of /dark.

    CLUE: Big power that needs hasten against AV's is - regen? Which will be fixed in an upcoming patch.

    Feel free to comment before I explain my choices.

    Enhancement selestion was not done in the order of leveling more as an after thought but SO's are as wiil be per my current lvl 42 respec which equals free lvl 45 SO's at the end of the day.

    ill be up for it with my brute, will be a nice change doing a mayhem mish with a brute rather than my MM who's pets are a nightmare in a mayhem mish.

    Im currently playing my MM at lvl 42 now, but my brute lvl 26.7 is within the range of your corrupter if ya wanna team at some stage. On most nights between 9pm-1am.

  21. Not much to add either but I dont think you need 3 acc in zombie hoard, you could better use one of those slots in tar patch with a slow enhancment

    Some people argue that lich only needs accuracy as he cycles all the buffs himself. I have slotted much the same as you but am going to do a respec (free one) on test server to try it with just acc.

    I messed up my lvl 34 respec the last time and am still surrering from it at lvl 41 so my advise is to try it at test first.

  23. New to game but I would like you r opinions on MM buids (from the word GO).

    Science
    Mutation
    Magic
    Tech
    Natural

    along with

    Mercenaries
    Necromancy
    Ninjas
    Robotics

    Problem is I do not have time to try them all out (thats obvious) but I woulod like a good starter on my toon so would appreciate any and all advise from those who have a good build or from those who whis they had chosen someting else.

  24. So far i have been doing quite well but end has been eating up. While soloing i have been able to cope very well but have to rest quite a bit. Am i missing some power polls that I should have taken rather than my original choice.

    Teleport Foe has been a great help up to now but it is not much use in teams, only when soloing.
