Quote:Ha! Thanks. I am not annoyed, though, just was curious. I find it funny.I can confirm this with a little bit of empirical evidence:
Back before I got my new gaming computer I basically never zoned in quickly enough to "accidentally" get the league star. But since I got my new fairly-cutting edge machine a few months ago I now manage to get the star as I zone in like that maybe every third trial I do now. I think I can deal with that mild annoyance as a consequence of enjoying my new computer. -
On the wiki link, if I am reading it right, it seems to indicate that you can go up to lvl 55. Can someone confirm one way or the other?
-
Quote:That helps, thanks!I'm not a good builder. I am currently getting a ton of help from very good posters in the Brutes forums on how to make an uber build for tons of cash to be my main for the next year. Reactive Armor shows up on all the top contenders, sometimes on 4 powers!
-
Yes, I guess technically this is true. I guess I was referring to the intention of the comment about joining onto a league through the LFG
-
Quote:This would make sense. I tend to be the first one in the zone every time.I have heard, though have not confirmed, that when the game reshuffles leadership this way it assigns leadership to the first person zoned in. So if you have a particularly fast load time, say a solid state drive or high end hard drive, you might be getting it a lot.
-
Do you know, how much resistance do you lose by not being able to have lvl 50 enhancements?
-
I have never used the LFG, ever. It just happens when the league zones in.
-
Almost every time I do an iTrial, once we zone I am the leader even when I didn't form it. Is this something I am doing, the speed of my computer, what? Anyone know?
-
I was taking a close look at the bonuses you get with Reactive Armor--can someone tell me how feasible it is to use it for lvl 50s? Do people use this for the bonuses at those high levels?

Basically the Cottage Rule is that Devs won't update things like /devices for blasters, even though most would agree it could use an update, because they don't want to mess with designs of things that are still functional and from earlier issues. They want to keep the tradition and not allow changes to older sets if they can help it.

Do any of you guys have the glitched costumes still like me? (the invis torso, etc?)
-
Quote:This is part of why I don't change them much.Several of mine still have their first costumes... Often because that's still just the way I think of them being dressed. They may have other costumes that they wear sometimes... but those first outfits are still their default, their signature look. They wouldn't be the same without them.

Can anyone tell me the Alpha they are using for WP tanks? I am really torn. Basically, the biggest question I have is whether I should be slotting for more resistance or more defense. Can you give input, please?
-
See and the only toons I have that have more than one slot are the first 20 or so I made. My current ones only have one slot. I don't like to make multiple costumes for toons--I figure if I like the costume idea, I'd rather put it on a NEW toon.
-
I also have some of those costumes that were glitched that I don't want to get rid of (I have an invisible chest on one, invisible arms on another, a skirt with the slits in the crotch instead of the sides...)
-
I hear a lot about the cottage rule and that being the reason some powersets won't change. The devs like to leave them.
While that frustrates me, I guess I have to understand a little--I definitely use the cottage rule for my old toons and their costumes. I can think of ways to make them updated, but I like to leave them the way there were way back in the day. It would seem a shame to not have them in the same costumes that I slaved away to get them to 50 in.
Just curious if anyone else is like this. -
OK Gotcha. Thanks. I wish the decisions in Praetoria mattered even more throughout the game. Now that would be fun!
-
Quote:What is the "decision technology"? I don't know what that is.I came back after Going Rogue and the Incarnate stuff had been introduced. I had been gone for almost two years I think. I was tempted back by the decision technology they have introduced to the game, which I still enjoy and hope they expand to all sectors of the game.
The Market has also changed since I've been gone. I am not a fan of the market but the various changes and new currencies mean I can get the things I want for my characters without having to "play the market". This is great as I consider the Market to be Anti-Fun.
The other big change is that most of my RL friends are back as well. Not sure how that happened exactly but it means I have a regular online-gaming night again -
Quote:We probably left around the same time, but I returned MUCH sooner. The learning curve must be pretty steep for someone gone so long. Most changes were improvements, though, IMO. Quality of life is amazing now.Why does my Instant Healing toggle keep dropping? Oh its a clickie.
What is this ED I keep hearing about? Is there in game Viagra to fix it?
Who exactly is this Wentworth fellow?
Hasten isn't permanent with SO anymore? How else am I supposed to keep 3 pets out? Oh I can't do that either?
The dumpsters in Bricks are empty. Where are all the tanks?
What the **** happened to the respec trial???? Its so boring now!
University
Invention sets
Incarnates
Rikti warzone
Alignment changes
Mission architect
None of that existed
Probably a lot I left out.
I was gone a long time. It's a whole new game now. Its been fun to relearn everything.
I left in i4 as I recall. Right before CoV came out. -
-
Just to clarify, no I didn't have 5 damage SOs in stamina, just in my attacks.
-
I left the game after my first 50. (I started in i3). Somehow I thought just getting to 50 was the goal and felt like I was "done" with the game after that. (I still wish there was a cool celebratory graphic whenever you hit 50!)
When I returned to the game, the first thing that happened when I logged in was that I got a buttload of arena badges. I had no idea what was going on! I tried arena with my scrapper against a troller (when trollers ruled arena--do they still?) and got my insides handed to me on a platter.
I also came back to Villains. It took me a long time to like playing redside. I just had a hard time with navigating (Yes, I am probably slow!).
I also came back to ED. I had NO idea what all the complaints were. I had my 5 damage SOs and my 6 end SO in stamina. People were (are!) so mad, but it took me a week or so to even understand.
What about you? What was new when you returned from a leave of absence? -
Quote:"Old" arcs? ROFL. Sorry, but they still seem incredibly new to me. Someone can probably give me a date when they came out and it will be 3 years or something, but they still feel so new.I remember the old Faultline arcs when you have to rescue Fusionette all time, and she was going kamikaze attacking every mob. Such a blapper, her
I think they all should die and be replaced with new cool looking characters, with more spotlight, cool new TFs, awesome costumes and newest powersets.
OK, back to topic. -
Now that you are unlocked, it is fairly easy to pick and use an Alpha power. It will seem very complex at first, but you will quickly catch on. For Alpha powers, you can play ANYTHING in the game and get "incarnate shards". You get these shards by random drops from anything you kill in the game.
If you play any of the lvl 50 TFs, you not only can get these random drops, you get a "component" at the end of the TFs.
Shards can be used to make these components, or you can just get the right combo of these components to make your Alpha ability.
On your power tray, if you click powers, you will see a tab for Incarnate Abilities. If you click on the Create Tab, then the Alpha Tab, you can click to see any of the Alpha trees. The very bottom power is the one you will create first. By clicking on it, it will tell you which components you need. If you have Shards, you can go to Convert to create these components. (You will need 4 shards for each lower component, more as you get higher).
All Incarnate powers, including Alpha, can be created through threads and drops from the incarnate trials (like BAF, Keyes, etc). While you learn the system, focus just on Alpha (in my opinion). You will quickly catch on and be able to add the others.
The biggest confusion about Alpha slot probably is that you can use Shards from the "regular" game OR you can use incarnate components from the Incarnate Trials.
I know that sounds muddled, but jump in and it really does make sense fast.
