I like my fire/rad more than my fire/kin, but that is a different issue. I know that fire/kin is the popular build.
I have always felt that with fire/ trollers that you just grind it out until imps, where you become pretty awesome. I don't think there is a great way to overcome the end problems of Hot Feet at lower levels. I put as much acc into Char as I could and just did my best. It was totally a grind until 32, but worth it. -
Thug--ok finally makes sense. I just wasn't getting. I thought they were indicators of progress so I didn't want to lose them. Just thinking of them as timers makes total sense.

Thanks Swell Guy. When they disappear does a character lose any progress toward the goal (like switching alignments, affirming their alliance, etc). Or they simply are indicators of how many tips I can get atm?

I would much rather see more useful sets for things like slow. At least TAOE has useful sets.

I haven't had time to really delve into tip missions the way that others have. I have affirmed myself as a hero and villain on a few toons, but yesterday I experienced something I hadn't seen before. I logged into a scrapper who had been doing a team's tips the previous day. The alignment badges on the "contacts" screen were so small that I couldn't tell what they were (when I had ever seen them previously I could have between 0 and 5, but when I had one, it was full sized). When I put my pointer over them, it said it had been a certain amount of hours since I had proven myself to be a hero (or something like that).
So to my question, were these alignment icons shrinking and eventually going to disappear? If I do tip missions and get 4 icons but don't log in for a week (or whatever) will I start with zero again?
I hope this makes sense. Please advise. -
I have to admit, I have dipped into these pools, but I have always seen them as bonus to what my "real" build is. Now that I am going to get 3 slots back on my toons, I know that I will be dipping further and really utilizing these pools.
My question is way to general to get a good answer, but here goes--any great tips on which pools I should be using for my toons? Or are there great guides that I wasn't able to find?
Thanks all. -
Mad--that makes sense. I hadn't thought about that. I am sure some toons (or most) I will want more than one slot.

Hey Beta players for i19, I am wondering if it makes sense to start respecing toons that I rarely play. I do have a respec on them. Is there any reason not to respec out of fitness pool now (since I won't be playing them) or will I be missing some sort of new content by respec now?
Thanks. -
I have been playing since i3. I don't play my 50s much because I have too many alts I like to play. I NEVER farm. I don't have the kind of money that others seem to have here. Having said all that, obviously I don't have full purple or PVP enhancements in my toons. On teams, though, I am NEVER embarrassed. I have good builds with non-purple IOs and do just fine. Nobody laughs at me, nobody looks at me funny, and nobody thinks I am a bad player. I have tanked for "Master Of" runs and led many teams.
I LOVE that PVP and purples are ultra rare. It makes them that much more fun. For farmers, they can work hard to get all of them. For regular players, it is still really fun to see a purple drop and be surprised. I wouldn't want it any other way.
You don't need billions to be a great player in this game! -
I have a few DB toons, but I haven't quite gotten down the combos. I don't mean I don't know how to use them, I do. I just was hoping for some advice on a few things.
1) Are there combos that are less important/useful and can be left out?
2) Are there powers that I can skip because I don't need a combo?
Thanks for any help you can give. -
I got a new PC and CTRL and ALT keys no longer pull up tray 2 and 3 consistently, meaning they do SOMETIMES. Yes, I already checked the keymapping and it is correct. When I pull up options menu and leave the last tab up, the keys work perfectly. As soon as I close it, they usually do not work. Has anyone else experienced this and does anyone have a solution?
Thanks! -

Although it did take me a minute to get that you were being funny, I like it. People are so overly dramatic in this game about the ATs.

Great to know...that should up my damage potential quite a bit, then! Thank you!!

I am sure this is answered SOMEWHERE on the forums, but I haven't found it. I am looking for the best way to keep baddies in my burn patch. Does the ice patch put down keep them sliding--even though that doesn't make sense that fire and ice patch would make water? Is ice patch my savior or my bane in a fire/ice tank?
Thanks for any help! -
I would much rather have a defender on my team than a troller (or corrupter or MM). The reason is that a defender tends to concentrate on buffing much more. They seem to understand their role is to heal/buff/bubble, etc, while a troller for example has so many powers that they want to use that sometimes the support part gets left to the wayside. I like a defender because they are there to use their primary and any damage you get is a bonus.

I have a 45 ice/kin. As a kin, you will always be in demand for a team, which is a plus. I have enough trollers to have every single controller primary, and I have to say that ice is one that I find hard to like. As stated, the damage is not great, Jack Frost isn't anything phenomenal as a pet, and it is end heavy. I would highly recommend you switch to something else (Ill, Fire).

WOW! Can't wait. Electric Tank? Psychic Blaster?
The Hollows? A place I use? (Yes, I currently skip it).
This is great!
