Funny thing is, I think I am maxed out on the number chat channels I can have (unless that was recently raised). I suppose it does help some, but not nearly enough.

When CoV first came out, I made two quick 50s so I could have the experience. Now most of my villains sit not finished, many in their 20s. It's NOT that I don't enjoy them, or that I don't enjoy CoV, but I like teaming and I can never really find a team redside. Part of me just thinks I should move them all over to blue and play there only. I doubt I would ever actually do that, but there are days.
I have no questions...just wanted to throw that out there. -
I understood the responses until here...can you explain so I know what you mean?
-
I don't know if I clicked on something or what, but I cannot move any of my powers...anyone have any ideas how I can do this? (Yes, I am experienced and have many toons, but never had this)

In the description for some pwers in Super Reflexes, the toon gets resistance as health bar diminishes. So would cardiac help this? Or would it have no effects because the resistance is not slottable?

Quote:I am not disagreeing, I just haven't seen +regen help me that much in terms of survivability. When I am tanking a large mob, I haven't seen that I live much longer because my green bar moves up a bit faster. I would love to know that I am doing something wrong, though.Nerve works out to around 3.5% defense at most for any particular type, IIRC. That's not difficult to make up in IOs and slotting. It's a lot more difficult to make up at least 30% global recharge (2/3 of the 45% isn't impacted by ED), plus at least 22% more +HP and +Regen (not 22% Regen, but 22% of your base Regen enhancement in each Regen power, which is a LOT more than 22%).

I thought the last time we got stats Magical origins was #1 and Science was #2. I was surprised to see Mutant jumping at least 2 spots.

Quote:I have this same opinion. I believe that, for the most part, Tanks are built to keep aggro and take damage (meaning the rest of the team can do their thing). I don't have any tanks that can't solo, but I don't gear everything for this ability. Just my opinion, but if I am looking for a purely solo toon, I would think a Brute would be such a better option, because it can tank pretty well, but can damage (usually) much more. The goal of a tank when I make one is survivability. I know I'll catch some backlash for saying this, but there is nothing more I hate than doing an STF and getting all the way to the end to find that our tank can't hold Recluse's attention/stay alive, even with buffers/healers.
So the goal of this tank I think would be to stay alive and hold aggro easily, and hold mobs and AVs (HAHAHA) in place while the rest of the team cuts them down.
This will be a strictly teaming character. (Unless I'm forced to do something solo.)
I hear a lot of people chattering about ice patch, so it would make sense to boost the recharge on that as it is an easy and effective way of immobilizing groups, right?
But at the same time, Ive got to stay alive so defense/damage resistance also needs to be high, BUT THEN AGAIN, i assume there needs to endurance fixes for the end crash.
All that being said, Would it be a bad idea to slot for defense/damage resistance and endurance recovery, then go alpha spiritual for recharge? -
Streetlight might be right on this, but I haven't personally had success with Willpower and Spiritual...I would much rather have Nerve. Are there other thoughts on this?
-
It's not that /Ice is bad, but you just have to know what to expect. It probably does the least dps, but it has other things that make it cool. And since tanking is about surviving and taking aggro, /Ice can be great.
-
Wow. I haven't had any freezes or crashes since i20 launched.
-
Before today, I got a TOTAL of one rare and one very rare table. I am very excited to have more of a chance...!
-
I went with cardiac on my invul tank. I was already soft-capped S/L, but not close for other things. So getting such an end discount plus more resistance...win/win.

Quote:Maybe I like being impatient, lazy, unintellectual and I like doing it wrong. HA HASome players are of the opinion that ignoring the story and doing what you enjoy is shallow and akin to using cliff's notes instead of reading the actual book. It is implied that players who do this are impatient, lazy, unintellectual or even 'doing it wrong'.
Look into your hearts people. You've thought it! Admit!
Well I've got news for you. Player like me who skip the text are -
I am reading a lot in the forums about how people do not like this storyline or the continuity doesn't make sense because this contact shouldn't have knowledge of this or what not.
When I play, I just "go with it" and enjoy. Often, I am not even aware of the storyline, just the objectives. Am i riding solo here?
Please don't think I am asking others to feel like I do. I say enjoy the story, get frustrated at inconsistencies, whatever. All I am saying is that I am not there. -
Quote:Wow, I am blown away. I think that the Sutter TF is AMAZING and a lot of fun. I don't love the first mish, but the rest is so much awesomeness. The Mortimer and Sutter SF/TF seem rather blah. This is a superhero game yet in Kal we fight a bunch of CoT that have been around for years and some local lame-looking street toughs who have also been around for a while. Throw in some Midnighters and then finish it off with a fight against Posi in one of the most generic bases in the game. Ugh. The Sutter was given much more new art but we're fighting amongst battleships? A wrecked Skyway? Why not send us into a far more fantastic environment and give us enemies that are not Praetorians AGAIN?!
Anyway, it just seems like a lot of the creativity is lost lately and these new things seem to be almost an afterthought (especially the Sutter and Kal). -
Quote:Some of that would be cool, but right now I am happy. On a whim I jumped on an STF the other day and was surprised how fun it was because I hadn't done one in a while. I couldn't tell you the last time I did a respec trial, but I am sure that I will do one for the WTF (I love how TFs/SFs/Trials are getting love from the WTF).I've had that feeling since Going Rogue hit. Since I'm not a hardcore all-my-life-on-CoX player (in fact, my SG is "The League of Occasional Heroes"), there are now just enough "content" options to keep my interest going. Especially with the end-game content and grind targets (certain IOs and Incarnate powers), enough players are continuing with their high-levels that I can tag along in TFs/trials most of the time I want to.
Still... I want more zone interaction in Paragon especially, and more immersive story arcs. Without the "too many ambushes" detail, I would love to see ALL the old missions get a review and many of them be more like the Praetoria changing mission objectives and branching detail dialogue.
The only "old" content that I think desperately needs updating is Synapse TF--OMG what a grind. I HATE IT. New Posi is so good, I have hopes. -
Great info...I haven't slotted Destiny on any tanks yet.

The game feels so fresh to me!
I wasn't looking forward to the Incarnate content like some others, but with the addition of the Incarnate content, I feel like there are SO MANY choices of what to do with my time. If I am not doing the BAF or Lambda (yeah, I don't like that you have to farm them), then I can do tips, or I can do the new TFs, or I can run through a contact, do something in Ouros, do newspaper missions, to a RWZ raid, do a Hami run, try an AE mission--It's starting to feel like I can't fit it all in. That is a much better place than being bored with the same old content. Is it just me?
Sorry to gush over the game. I just love it and hope it lives on longer...because it is more fun than ever to me. -

What is the soft cap for defense on tankers?
I am not a numbers guy in this game, but if I am not at the soft cap (which I am not without EA, I can see that, but I don't check in game when I have that def added), I understand that every percentage point counts in a huge way. So maybe for me that extra defense would be good. -
If this is posted somewhere, I wasn't able to see it.
I love my Ice Tanker, mostly because I have had to really think about the build more than other tanks. But I am not sure which Alpha Slot is best. I actually have cardiac right now, even though I am obviously defense based. I didn't take it for the boost to the two resistance powers I have (Tough and Frozen Armor), I took it because of the endurance. Yes, with some IOs and Energy Absorption (which I use whenever I can), end is not such an issue. I guess I have to manage it better and that annoys me.
Having said all that, I am 50+1 and I still don't feel all that uber. Should I switch to Nerve for the defense boost? Or Spiritual for recharging my heal and Energy Absorbtion?
I would appreciate any input. -
Sorry, I am just catching on to the level shifts. I have gotten a few toons to 50+1. I did it with tier 3 alpha. So I assume tier 4 alpha is 50+2. What I don't see is how these toons are getting to 50+3. Can someone help?
