To answer the Post question, there is not a lack of Chilly Defenders, at least not on Virtue Blue Side. Lately, it seems there are lots of cold toons, of various ATs, on Virtue.
As far as the AE thing goes, I enjoy doing both the story driven missions created by players, and the farm types.
There are a lot of creative players who have spent many hours putting together missions for me to explore. I, myself, have created one story mission, and take much pride in it. I had one player actually send email to express his appreciation of it. That was cool. There are many times I log on and want nothing more than to discover, and complete, a story mode mission I haven't done before.
There are also times I log on with friends and just enjoy chatting while doing a farm mission. We start chatting, joking, and goofing around, NOT paying attention to any story, but still wanting to play the game, and farms offer that alternative.
I'll be a 5-year vet at the end of June, and I enjoy having the option of how I play the game, in whatever mood or attitude I'm in at the moment I log on.
The key word there is OPTION. AE is out in the open, and players are using it for whatever reason. If some want to use it "incorrectly," then adjust whatever elements make it "incorrect." Do NOT punish the players for discovering ways of manipulating what they are given. They're human, and that's what humans do... they're innovative. We started with rubbing sticks together to make fire, and now we have stoves and microwave ovens. We started banging sticks and rocks together, and now we have electric guitars and drums. Give us the ability to create missions, and we'll develop them in ways great and unforseen, and in ways the developers knew would/could be done... but did nothing, and let it become a player/developer fiasco for some people.
Just keep the option available for each individual to enjoy his/her play style.
My only suggestion for AE is to have its only chat channel that can only be read while in an AE building. Combine all the AE buildings, of each individual server, into a zone of its own. That way, players can select/de-select having the AE broadcasts showing in their chat windows. This would eliminate a lot of complaints from those chatting in zones where an AE building exists. -
I've posted my feelings about the folk with nothing else to do but try to be toon police. Posted in Triumph.
I hope you get your costume back. Good luck. -
The same people that reported your toon are the same people that cried and complained about the AE release. They are sad, lonely people.
Most of them can be found in Super Wal-Marts after 10:30 p.m. Go ahead, your curiosity is up... go to Super Wal-Mart after 10:30 p.m. and take in a good eyefull. It's amazing. Then go up and take a census, asking them if they are involved in A) CoH Costume Copyright Infringement Busybody Activity, and/or B) Architect Non-Participation, but Wanna Complain About it Anyway Activity. What dribbles from their mouth will more than likely be interpreted as, "Yes."
You can further question them as to why, but their attention will already be on something shiny, and anything they may say wouldn't be understood anyway.
I enjoy playing the game way too much to worry about what another toon has as a costume. Good luck getting your favorite toon returned. -
Before you call the Geek Squad, check the phone book for little computer shops. In these lean times, you may come out cheaper getting work done, compare cost estimates between all parties. A couple of phone calls is all it takes.

How come there are no snow covered maps for MA? The Snow Beasts are available to insert into MA missions, but there are no snow maps to match.
Can we please have some snow landscapes for the MA? -
I have a sweet 8-gig Q9450 Core 2 Quad, nVidia 8800GTS 512 OC, and Vista Ultimate 64. Without fail, I get bumped to desktop a couple of times every night due to the Vista/nVidia/CoH Combo of Love. Get Ultimate 64 and enjoy notifying every team you're on that you may possibly disappear, but will immediately relog. It's groovy.

Stretching Melee fight set... arms and legs stretching to punch and kick baddies melee style.... maybe it'd be a BLAST type power. But could also stretch, retrieve enemy, and punch his lights out up close. Good for travel power also.
-
I hope you win, too, Black_Marrow!
Wait... oh man, I posted.... D'oh!
Sorry -
I have Vista Ultimate 64 on my sytem to take full advantage of my duo quad core Q9450. Will Windows 7 do as much for my box as my current OS, or will it back down a bit similar to XP?

The Silver Age was simplistic, with bold colours. At most, you pick two primary colours, with a third for accent. Apply them to something that's mostly tights, with maybe a fancy belt, or a dress or something like that. Even when drawn modernly, there's a lot of simplicity in the designs of that age. For example, Saturn Girl.

You get 2 points for using Tony Harris' art. He and I are best friends. Stay groovy. -
Drat! Would've been cool doing screenshots with the words. And playing would look a lot like the 60s Batman t.v. show having words flash across the screen.
Devs should give it to us as an option so it would show up on our own screen for our own enjoyment and not interfere with other player's screen.
Nice idea, too bad we can't have it. -
Since we can go back to the Roman times, any chance Jesus is gonna be a contact or possibly act as the "hospital" for the zone?
Would be cool if "stores" were actually Roman deities serving their particular archetype, that would bestow "items" after offerings (influence) is given. -
Finally, a Plant Controller. I hope they give the Thorns Secondary, also.
For now, I only have 2 questions:
Can we have more post-50 slots?
What's in I13? -

Underwater Zone please. -
What's all this 70s/groovy combination? The 60s CREATED groovy with the hippies, smoking pot, love beads, Woodstock, etc.... though dictionaries put the word groove +y in the 1850s. The 70s were more of a "far out"(Cheech and Chong) or "rad"(or radical... which is more 80s-- Fast Times at Ridgemont High) period.
Keep on Truckin'

There are no publically announced plans for a console version of CoX. The console games are:
Atrix
Punch Monster
Point Blank
Dragonica
This information comes from Investor Relations reports that are publically available here: NC Soft

What the...?!! Those titles sound so lame that I can't even be bothered to look them up. Why are they going to console? They should be given away inside cereal boxes. -

My girlfriend, for example, recently discovered that she likes peanut butter and jelly ... AND CHEESE, all in one sandwich. The very thought makes me want to empty my stomach ... but she loves it. Go figure, right?

Something similar occured with my wife... a few months later I was called Daddy.

... it'd have to be the second coming of Jesus, in our case, given how much birth control we use. Which would be funny as all hell, considering I'm an Agnostic, and she's a neo-Pagan.

CoH/CoV on console will make it easier to have a second account... won't have to buy a game compatible computer which would be possibly 3X the cost of a PS3 or a 360. For that reason alone, I'm in.
[/ QUOTE ]
depends how they run it, if it's anything like FF11 on the console, you'll still need an account to login.
[/ QUOTE ]
The person to whom you reply specifically mentioned "a second account" (see emphasis). ^_^ They only meant that a PS3 of 360 would cost them far less than a second PC.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, you understood my original post, Pax.
I know I'd have to pay for a second game account. The point I was making was buying a PSsss, XBox, or Wii to run a second account would be cheaper than buying a second PC to run a second account. My son has the PSsss and XBoxsss, but I'd have to scuttle for a Wii... still cheaper than a PC. For that reason alone I support console CoH/V, because that would be the only way I could get a second account... and I'd really like one. -

Hmmm... if CoH/V should go to console then it would be really easy to get a second account... without having to buy an extra computer! My kids have the PSssss and 360 already.
-
Interviewer didn't ask Mr. Chung when CoH/V toys are going to show up in Happy Meal boxes... dang.

With the red line work, I thought the toon was catching a football... then I noticed the hands were up in the air.... d'oh!!

No, what Im saying is I dont want someone getting the EXACT thing I paid for free.

I can't believe how petty some of these players are, getting all upset about something involving an online computer game. Some folks are upset that their family members won't be coming home alive from Iraq. Some people need to put their issues in priority and realize some things just aren't so important....like if a game company offers a simple freebie to new players, at least it won't kill you. -
Hey NCsoft! The next time you do something as major and exciting and feel like doing something good for those who helped, just throw yourselves a major office party or take your employees somewhere special. Save yourselves from the whining and moaning of all these players who feel they are priviledged or deserving, for they will moan about anything you should be generous enough to give.
