ah well. its upsettingt o see anyone go, but you spelled out your reasons pretty clearly and it makes perfect sense. good luck with that opportunity. I personally haven't interacted much with you, given your job that may be for the best(i interacted a bit too much with cricket). but you had a sense of humor and for working at the most thankless position in gaming, you never let us break you, so it was good to have been in your vocational vicinity.
in relation to people leaving. Jay, i see you go for the door, im tackling your #@$ and dragging you back. i have seen your photos, im twice your sizenobody else leaves, got it?

Quote:quickly looks that up. hay dave, remember from the all things art thread, we were talking about steam-punk/ Victorian booster costumes? lets say that based on what what a quick search on the comic turned up..keep looking at that comic, its close if not an improvement of what i was at least mentioningand Lady Mechanica (first issue just came out, but it's about time we had a decent steampunk book!).
PARTICULARLY the LM 0 2nd printing cover. reeely look at that please.
oh and since ironik mentioned reality tv, ya know, usually my work schedule interferes with it, but as my avatar indicates, i found one very interesting character in the recent america's got talent. so gotta mention that for the best reality tv this year, the prince made it very memorable. -

i predict that it will be interesting, and some people will still complain and moan.Quote:heh, i predict people will live up to their forum handle, thats all really. So i take it that David Nakayama aka Noble Savage doesn't count? He's always been quite vocal when he has the time. In fact he's posted several times in the last couple of days.
oh and for those making comparisons, my opinion based on experience is that the rankings of quality seem to be following the release order, at least as a player who's biggest interest is customization, numbah 3 aint cutting it at all. -
well, the moon thing seemed more like him doing jokes than anything, the more costumes will be nice, i'd of course like a quantification of a slew, i suspect my definition is different and likely completely unrealistic. and proliferation will make at least one lizard quite happy i think, particularly if it gives scrappers something strong.. nothing concrete(wouldnt expect it really), but nice
and yeah, i see awesome still being in the game, seemed that gr did some major kick-start of the game again, but more good is always welcome. -
well, best movie: scott pilgrim vs the world. a touching love story obscured and magnified by familiar cultural references. not bad fight scenes either.
music: it was a fight between abney park's "end of days" and blind guardian's "at the edge of time". I give blind guardian the nudge, but it was close.
comic: empowered keeps impressing me, for something that has it roots in full on fanservice, they keep forcing me to care about the characters, still catching up, but loved the endng between spooky and mind@#$%. and spooky's rageout in the newest one was the perfect build up and explosion moment.
tv: i have been enjoying how i met your mother and big bang theory. think mayim byalik really has added to the big bang cast very well. -
a thought i had always had for pocket d was to see if they could get some unsigned djs to mix songs for it and have their stuff change up every once in a while. they get exposure, we get new music. I suppose copyright issues for sampling would rear their heads, as well as possible ratings issues, but spending a lot of time in pocket d can start grating on your news after the 40 th time we are instructed that the entire united kingdom apparently is inside of my house (and i just know a few wont have wiped their feet at the door)

a story bible is a loose overview of the game world. how it was implemented by people who may not have adequately consulted it or maybe just didn't get the gist of the entry right is what you are taking issue with, different topics entirely.

likely they just didnt get there yet, if they get there at all. its waiting in the wings with mot the sleeper, merluna, whatever lore was going to support the avilians, the whole arthurian fae subplot that pops up here and there with the pets, hero one and the unseelee court, whatever wade is going to do for rularru and the coming storm, and any of the other plot devices left open.
as for shapeshifting though, its on a kheldian, already ingame.was there ever a specific quote that suggested botbs were going to be villian exclusive? of the scant info we got, i dont recall that ever being brought up. -
ah, well, he succeeded at conveying it then.

Quote:interesting thing with the anti-government thing, noting the period shifted western setting, the observance of different alliance holidays and some other incidental things about the setting. It always seemed to me that firefly was kind of a period shifted tale of a confederate soldier in the reconstruction era america. The problem isn't that the show is bad. Its just that Firefly is anti-government and were talking about Golden Girl here.....
That said watch Firefly. You won't be disappointed.
as for joss, i was TRYING to just make a joke there, but i'm about 50/50 for him, i loved buffy and thought firefly was good, but i also felt firefly could get incredibly preachy at times, and towards the end, buffy was just a garbled mess, so Joss gets interest from me, but not entirely confidence. dr horrible was very good, even if it did find a way to fit in a surprising number of joss's cliches in a short musical. I feel that joss suffers from his own hype, people hype up firefly beyond it capacity to fulfill the expectations they lay out and leave people disappointed. hes pretty good and writes clever, funny dialogue, i just leave it at that and leave outt he unsustainable hype. -

aanyhow, it seems like mutant enemy is joss's production company, so anything he does will likely be produced by them. apparently it is due to him liking a song by the prog rock group "yes" that contained the phrase.

Quote:there was an anime remake a few years ago. not horrible.Honestly, if there was a film I would like to seen remade, it's Fritz Lang's Metropolis. After seeing the nearly complete restoration, I think the story is worth taking another pass at.
To be honest, I think the story still has relevance today and was groundbreaking in it's time.
Thank you for the time... -
fixed. for youthful trauma

we cant hear you back there.

I am going to honor the intent of this thread by going into your kitchen and making a grilled cheese sandwich with pepperoni, then returning to the computer without cleaning up after myself.

well, ya know, i dont really get into playing actual villains, the point is that many felt that cov was lacking in real villainy, outside of a few well known contacts. so far threads like these indicate that the devs have gotten a lot better at making being a villain more satisfying. I'm unlikely to play these myself( rogue and vigilante, more likely) but its always a good thing for the people that want satisfying content of a certain writing to be getting it.

Quote:yep, i mentioned this way upthread. i also mentione it might be time to get monstrous arms too, maybe alien muscular(like namekians with the two tone ribbed muscles) crustacean, spiny mutant, with spikes like the mutant wings and such so yeah signed to heck and back, maybe even we could use these to sneak in tattoed forearms, maybe getting the attachment to look natural might be an issue, but i'm sure it could be worked around by the talented group we have here. but i think this would be a very good idea
The only solution that I can see to that is to just give women the ability to swap their hands. Now, I've been saying this for a while, but that's not as wild as it sounds. Foreshadow already does that. Seriously, go to the hollows and check him out. That's what those rings around his shoulders are for. The way he does it, it looks like, is to use the existing Robotic Arms tech, only his robotic arms aren't robotic. They're human. That's why he gets those big unique biceps. Yeah, I'll admit it would be weird to have the rings on women (they're what helps the arms join the torso in a non-ugly way), but it's better than nothing.
