  1. thats part of why im still single.

but one of my favorites was when a civvy says "i hope my kid grows up just like you" and im a kheldian in nova form...she apparently wants her kid to grow up as a tape-worm. maybe paragon has some good law schools...
  2. The way i have envisioned it, there would be 4-5 animations for each activation time, you can choose any of that set for a specific power, but it would only be selectable if it had the right activation time.

People who argue against Psi Melee as a represented Superhero power have evidently never heard of Psylocke, who is, coincidentally, my favorite Marvel character ever.

    Edit: Typo

[/ QUOTE ]fine, but shall i mention the cool characters who use bo staves, polearms, nunchaku and whips? As i said, im not against psi melee entirely, but explain how its going to look, because psylocke's "hook" is that she is a ninja as well, her psi powers are integrated into her unarmed skills, she basically is using psychic katar. now if shes your fave character, you know her a lot more than me, but psi and radiation melee, end even sonic just seem to be things that are projected outward, not something with existing fighting styles that can be moved into the game. i mean, one reason i like dual blades is that the animations looked cool, i can see that with staves , nunchaku or whips, but i need sold on what makes psychic power, radiation and sonic powers fit in melee. im an easy sell, honest, just gimmie something to work with. Mental manipulation seems to have one melee strike, and it basically is holding up your hands and sapping the enemies brain, we already have a hand wavy power with darm melee.
  4. lbx is pretty good for nonspecific team builds on liberty. There are some speed runs, but most of the tf's i have run with them have been fairly "beat up everyone in front of us"
  5. i tend to ignore them, but yeah, they are cool, i forget when they were put in, it has been a very long time though.
  6. The gun witch is a minor story trope, i recall a modestly good rail shooter for the 360 named bullet witch that runs with the thing. Did their bio indicate that they couldnt use a gun? I mean, im just not seeing where you found a problem. they were a witch that could use magic, and also supplemented her self defense with a gun too, I would hate to see what you think of some of my guys, they are consistent, but not always in conventional ways.

As for jump kick, i always considered it a good move for spider-man/nightcrawler type characters. extravagantly acrobatic but helps a theme. as for as's 100% knock up, its been a round a long time, but i would not be surprised if we see it brought into line with the other pool melee powers eventually. not calling for it, just saying, use it if you like it, but dont build your house on it.
  7. I thought you quit... a few times now.
  8. It is my favorite power setup by a long run, my first redsider, violet tendencies, is still my main vill. I havent played her since i15, but i hear good things. the seeds of confusion and carrion creepers make the set immense fun.

I was, and still am disappointed Dual Blades came first... I wanted Psi Melee so bad...

    [/ QUOTE ]

you aren't the only one, Quinzy.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Although the implementation of Dual Blades was pretty unique, I'm still disappointed in the community for picking yet another smash/lethal set for melees to use. As if we don't have enough of those already.

Before we add an exotic set like psi melee, let's also add nunchaku, katars, tonfas, staves, street fighting, flails, whips, spears, brass knuckles, and chainsaw melee!

[/ QUOTE ]heres the problem though, most of those would have several superheroes we can name that have them, and have distinctly recognizeable styles that actually would make them really good. I mean, lets look at the oft asked for staff set, minimal time on youtube can find us several really impressive videos of marital artists doing some crazy staff techniques, same with the nunchaku you mention, what is psi melee going to have that will match that? Made up styles just dont have the flash that ones based on real world techniques do.

the elemental melee sets have been boring upon boring, either generic sword swings, punches recycled from super strength or claws, or worst of all, just holding your hands out(scorch, i beleive). I mean, if they are going to commit to some impressive animations for psi melee for once, alright, gimmie some new kicks and punchesfor it and we have a deal, but people who just want psi melee because they have a hang up about the s/l resists of some late game guys, that smacks of min/max whining.

  11. given that we are getting new powers with going rogue, i woudl be surprised, but pleasently, if we got new powers or proliferation in i16, i think colors will probably be the main meat of the issue.

I have a feeling that if they put everything we'd HOPE for in the Mutation pack, it'd be like a 30$ investment

Multiple eyes, eyestalks (OH that would rule), bigger tails, smaller tails, messed up arms, weird legs, squished head... SQUID head...

    need moar.

[/ QUOTE ]for all that, i would pay that sum.
  13. I would call it a monster pack, or beastly pack, but otherwise, signed to the high heavens and back. maybe for the "hook" we could get those animated tails that were asked for in BETA. but yeah, more insect stuff, more fox stuff, more sea themed stuff(that would bea two for one thing for me) more tails, more details added to beastly heads, more lion stuff, oh, and maybe, MORE FRIGGING DRAGON STUFF!!!!!!
  14. glad to see you back, hopefully ingame soon.
  15. If i recall he got his yea quota three times over, but if we are still going, throw me in too as a heck yeah.
  16. free posting sites tend to exist to prove thomas hobbes right. perspectives are nice when they come from qualified sources, sites like that and youtube are filled with subhuman morlocks with a tenuous grasp of the rational thought and the english language. Sounds harsh, but thats how it is.
  17. the first time i did an ornabega map, i nagged my friends to run the same arc as i had(this was pre cov and shared completion) yeah those maps are very well done. yeah, they share the faults that caves do, too enclosed, dead turns, and a nasty wedding cake room, but my word is it pretty.
  18. i shall probably be playing on liberty, and getting right in...and waving at freedom players.[ QUOTE ]
Qr - I'm going to the seaside for that weekend. I've just decided. Double XP weekends suck the pustulant hairy oozing scabs from the bottom of Satan whilst simultaneously blowing huge chunks of toxic vomitous excrescense on all that is good and wholesome IMO

I was thinking when a hero or villain draws out his/her sword or gun where does it come from??? I was wondering why dont they have a holster or something to put there weapons into and so its visible. there can be different holster costume parts and ect. if you don't like the holster idea please think about making weapons visible on either the characters back or waist (should have choice based on player).

    Think about this!!

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Hammer space.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think this "hammer space" is the biggest cop-out ever... not showing ur weopon is retarded lol.

First post after redname...nd if its so hard to get a weapon holster or whatever y not just make a sheath or a quiver as a costume piece for the waist?

[/ QUOTE ]calling something retarded while demonstrating, at best, a cursory grasp of the English language...ah succulent irony.

I do like the tsoo, but they are explicitly hmong, they do not seem to have dealings with chinese or japanese groups

[/ QUOTE ]Hmong includes China, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, and Burma

[/ QUOTE ]i know, but they are an ethnically distinct group with their own customs and practices. Having them suddenly decked out in much of the han chinese outfits and themes i thought would be in the expansion would seem as silly as having a bunch of ainu characters wearing samurai armor and hefting katanas. they are already confused enough with ninjas in their current costumes, no need to tack on more inaccurate characterizations.

Now if you were, as i mentioned earlier, to have tub ci suddenly start accepting work with other existing groups and not just driving them out of paragon and building his own empire, then i would be fine with it.
  21. notice how i mention oroboros, right? i figured that placing it in "real" world continuity would limit it, but it its set in some future time of interest and accessed through a time portal, then things get easier.

I do like the tsoo, but they are explicitly hmong, they do not seem to have dealings with chinese or japanese groups, in fact, in the backgrounder they seem to have chased the triads out of paragon, and i vaguely remember hearing they dont deal well with the yakuza either,so there would be a limiter there unless tub ci suddenly gets more open minded.
  22. ok, to desperately try to rein this thread back into sanity rather than talk about tri-gu...looks at fleeting, i mean trigun. I think the term anime is a little broad, but i think generally there are a few kinds of costume that we could use that are common in anime.

the chinese cheongsam dress for one, a kimono top, the ability to use popular kanji symbols as chest decorations, a single oni horn, and possibly male and female tiger skins for oni themed characters. and maybe the ability to put "chest" symbols on backs, as you sometimes see in martial arts and some feudal era animes.

I think we have the powersuit animes pretty much covered, heck, i remember seeing pretty convincing knight sabers way back in issue 1. and the "real world" anime's costumes can be mostly replicated here, often the difference is that a lot of anime characters are incredibly slender, far more than you can get here even with sliders at minimum, but that is just s stylistic difference you are never going to get around.

so i dunno, one thing i would like and have suggested in the past was a anime/manga themed zone, accessed by oroboros which takes you to a future version of japan where environmental and economic situations have brought in large numbers of korean and japanese residents (as a justification to get in chinese and korean mythological creatures and costume bits) you deal with both high tech ghost in the shell styled criminals as well as having supernaturally controlled areas where you fight various yokai(japanese ghost-monsters, basicly) and chinese monsters.

sounds awesome! Unfortunately it does appear more and more that Going Rogue isn't coming until next year, bummer that.

    ~MM

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's just the end of June now. Six months left in the year, they've been working on this for how long now? Long enough to get some preliminary screenshots, mention that I16 is not the same as Going Rogue and some of the plans involved...

Other than chronic pessimism, I see nothing to say it's *not* going to be sometime this year. Late this year? I'd believe that, sure.

[/ QUOTE ]I dunno, with issue 15 launching next week maybe, and a minimum of 3 months for issue 16, we are looking at a very short time to beta test and release rogue. I would love to be wrong, of course, but i dont think march 2010 is being particularly pessimistic.

What's a weekend? The world exists more than just during Banker's Hours.
    And so does the Intarwez.

[/ QUOTE ]thats the good thing about working longer days, the weekend for me is friday through sunday . of course, once OT gets dangled in front of me ill be camping at work, but still.
  25. babs and castle have posted on off days, but yeah, they have lives, let them live them. several have younger kids, thats a job in itsself, i appreciate the time i get, and don't need them to be here more.
