Haven't been around most of today, but just want to say glad to see Paragonwiki went black. I took both Virtueverse and Unionverse down, they'll be down as well until Midnight. I had a few people tell me they had no idea about it until they came across sites that were blacked out. This bill is especially a danger for Virtueverse and Unionverse. They're primarily original/creative content posted by users. It would be a monumental task for me to try and screen every single line of text or image that goes onto the wiki by users to ensure it doesn't include someone else's copyrighted content.
Thankfully it seems that today has had the effect the protesters were hoping. Congress members seem to be leaping away from the flaming sinking ship that is SOPA/PIPA, though its a bit sad that it took this level of effort for them to realize it was a terribly written bill by people who have zero idea how the internet actually works.
So I guess we'll have to wait and see if this rears its head again after the elections or if it comes back in another form. -

I've finally finished implementing the first part of allowing advertising on VV.
Before anyone screams "OMG SELL OUT" this is only for in game, virtue related advertising. It is not open to any commercial entities and it is entirely free.
Basically you can advertise for your events, your SGs, or even just make fun ads for your in character stuff. This is currently being limited to about 10 per month. Event ads and SG recruitment ads will take priority. Ads for fun will be listed but at a lower priority. All ads will run 30 days. For fun ads can be left indefinately as "house" advertising that shows when nothing else higher is listed.

Guidelines:- In an effort to keep VirtueVerse within its theme we only accept advertising that is directly related to the Virtue Universe. This includes Supergroup recruitment and event ads, server wide event ads, server wide story event ads and even your own fictious ads pointing to your content on VirtueVerse.
- Animated Adverts are not accepted, nor are flash based ads. JPG, PNG, or static gif images are fine.
- Adverts can not use excessive amounts of neon or extremely bright colors. Try to keep them tasteful.
- Adverts are not currently being accepted for mature content.
- Adverts can not break any of our Terms of Use
Size Requirements:
Must be 125 pixels wide, can be no bigger then 240 pixels high.
The ads are going to be served via Google Doubleclick, I did this specifically so that people who don't want to see them can easily block them with ad block software. -

I will say there is a periodic, though rare issue where the site will lock up for a few moments if someone tries to upload a picture larger then the allowed limit. But I doubt that is causing your issue if this is happening consistently. -

It will probably be handled like any new player who wants to have a page for their characters. Virtueverse doesn't have any special access to CoH accounts to see who is a Free player and who isn't.
From a personal standpoint, I couldn't imagine why we'd turn away a user because he's a F2P player. Some may be troublesome, but that's no different than some folks who have a sub.
I'm personally looking forward to seeing a lot of old faces return to the game and plenty of new ones and they'll all be welcome to use VirtueVerse.
They just have to follow the rules like everyone else. -

As requested by several users when I did the survey I wanted to make sure the Feature Articles get a bit more attention and don't get buried in the stickied VirtueVerse thread.
We have three features this month on the VirtueVerse home page along with a snazzy new layout. There won't be a story feature this month as we didn't get enough story nominations (hint hint).

Started working on the page content for the my other half character, Trac-Tor, on VV.
Would love some feedback on the layout or the beginning of the writing, though its not much yet. -
Oh nice, I'm checking it out now. I've never actually managed to do 3d modeling so I guess this will be an interesting intro for me. If I manage some free time that is....
