After a weekend of really slow teams (are you guys ready now? how bout now?), I decided to play a tanker again.
I know ELA doesn't have any defenses to build off of, so they end up at a slight disadvantage when it comes to soft-capping, but I ended up with perma-hasten, really high resists, and defense in the high teens.
Should I ditch a lot of my recharge bonuses for defense bonuses?

I slotted a couple of HO's in Demons to help increase Heal and Resistance,while lowering end cost. I also put both +5% Defense IOs and both 10% IOs in Hellfire,along with the Attuned MM enhancement to increase AoE Defense into my 1st tier pets. All coupled together, it seems to do pretty good.

Now that I'm 50, I'm trying to decide what to do with my alpha slot on my claws/DA brute. Any suggestions?

I just finished leveling a claws/DA brute and I'm starting to plan my spines/DA lawnmower.
I don't need to solo AVs, but EBs would be nice. Because the build is so endurance hungry, I tried to pack in as much recovery as I could.
So... does anyone have any feedback on this build?

I played a spines/regen scrapper for a while, and I don't remember why I deleted him. Probably because I was burnt out on /regen.
Now I'm in the mood for a scrapper (because I like crits) that solos well, levels without downtime, has resistance to slows & drains (pet peeves of mine), and a couple of damage auras would sure be swell. I saw Electric Armor had all that and Lightning Reflexes and got a little excited.
Does anyone have any build suggestions? Maybe I should look at a different armor set? Are there holes in Electric Armor that might totally turn me off? -

that 50% difference in damage is pretty noticeable - every combo that can be done on brutes that is worth making it going to have better numbers on a scrapper
SS/SD brute is probably the only reason I would make a brute with SD even then I probably wouldnt as the DPS will be mediocre, only really good for farming - and i already have farmers
I was away for a few years, but I was lead (by threads like this) to believe that while scrappers had higher base damage and criticals, brutes get higher sustained damage because of fury. Is that not the case any longer?
I remember asking in /help what's the point of making a scrapper or tank when brutes can do either of those roles better. The general consensus was that scrappers were better melee dps for teams (they don't need stuff hitting them to get fury) and tanks were only better at "extreme tanking". Am I missing something here? -

I took a break from my Claws/EA scrapper to make a WM/SD brute the other day. I had a lot of fun cracking things with my mace, but waiting for a button to mash was killing my buzz.
Is there something else I could pair with /SD to get the same WM feel without the WM recharge blues? Does the pace pick up later on?
I'd rather not play SS/SD, since I'm already playing an SS/FA brute with a buddy.
What would you suggest? -
I still feel like you're missing the point. Missions aren't playable because they're not consistent. I can't emotionally connect with a story if I can't connect the story with a legit place and a legit event. The random location and random map generation forces me to recall the map layout I've seen hundreds of times, across hundreds of stories.
In effect, you're not allowing players to participate in a story, you're using a short blurb of text as an excuse to introduce them to another randomly chosen map (that they've likely already seen) so they can practice PvE where no one [outside of the team] can interfere.
