i also want to add here, that the OPs join date and the "plan" he had, show that he is probably new player....

it would be better for him first : to research the game, learn the mechanics, learn the mobs, learn how most powersets works and how each teammate can help the team... before barking rude orders to people that would probably know a lot better than him

A while ago, I was doing a level-22 mission with a group of 5 people (we were 6 total including me). Unfortunately for me, all of them were uncooperative. My request was simple.

SPAM THE MOBS WITH YOUR BEST ATTACKS.

The truth is, the team could have been "okay". Nothing really has to be perfect. Even if there are occasional disobediences from your members, you should be fine if those minor things are kept at minimum and not become annoyingly consistent. But in this group, two of the members were being very rude. Although I cannot guarantee you that I can provide a perfect, word-by-word, direct quotations from the chat box, I can assure you that what I am about to show you is how the conversation basically was:

Me: (Just arrived in the mission door.) Wait.

    Jerk # 1: For?

Me: We have the strength in numbers. FULL ATTACK!

Jerk # 1: Are you like Captain Obvious or something?

Me: (Ignored the comment and kept going.)

(We were attacking some mobs. I got killed because no one helped me when 4 mobs aggressed towards me. No big deal.)

    Me: Revive please.

    (Revived by someone)

    Me: Thank you.

Jerk # 1: I guess you didn't follow the plan did you?

Me: Don't give me that attitude.

Jerk # 1: Are you trying to command us like pets?

Jerk # 2: He can't. That's the beauty of it.

Me: (addressed to Jerk # 1) I'm kicking you out of the team you jackass.

    (Kicked him out.)

Members of the party got a little shocked (so does the jackass). In all fairness, they all thought I was disrespectful and that I should have "respected the underlings before being respected back."

    But I digress...

It is in my belief that RESPECT is something that is freely given and firmly assumed. People must respect other people. A janitor deserves respect just as much as the President, a waiter, a teacher, or a plumber. Earning respect is a matter of regally practicing your liberty to be treated with respect.

In this particulat case, I was the leader of the group, I was the one who created the group, and it is clear in the beginning that I have the power and freedom to kick out any member out of my own will, for any reason.

They all sided with the alleged *********...

What happened after then? I started recruiting members again on broadcast, ignored *********'s smart-alleck comment (on broadcast), and found two willing members who helped me with my mission.

How did it go? Much better. At first, the other one was AFK and told us to go ahead without her. There were only the two of us and yet we were doing much better and mowing mobs much faster compared to the 6-man group I was in, all because me and him were actually listening to each other.

It is here that the value of having quality members is shown to be a much better jewel than a legion of morons.
first of all your plan was not optimal (attack only with your best attacks?)....
also your attitude was kinda "umhh"...the star doesn't give you the right to act like a "jerk boss"....... if you continue like this in a medium/low population server, you will soon be teamless all the time...

i would advise you to reconsider the way you act, and try to be more polite and kind

PM. the "jerks" in the dialogue didn't say or do anything "jerkish"

    Blaster survival

hi and welcome to the game...

blasters are the most fragile of all the archetypes, you have to use your DPS to kill quickly the mobs before they reach you, and/or use your powers from the secondary for mitigation. Laters on in higher levels and when you will discover the profits of invention system , you will be able to make a blaster more (or a lot) durable...

Also i have a feeling that you are playing Praetoria, where the mobs are a bit tough for low level toons (especially for new players)

My advices would be theese :
    1. Lower your difficulty settings to -1, and raise them again when you will feel more confident
    2. Reroll your blaster as a hero in Paragon City, where things are a bit more easier in low levels
    3. roll a scrapper or a brute.. those archetypes are more easy to play for new players

  7. as i read in the thread that link leads, 2 of 3 were only with SO, and noone in a defence softcap (1 was near it, 44%).... it probably shows the new level of power that the new incarnate slots gives.... also in another place i read about a 7 or 8 man MSR

strangely enough there was not much Tin Mage action in the speed group, ( i personally did all my runs with other groups till last night)

from the two runs that i joined last night (without phill), the best time was 20:23, but i am pretty sure that phill managed a much better time when he logged laters on

the best thing though was, that in one of the two runs, we got "dodger" badge without even aiming for it (no shivans, no warburg nukes)... that thing put a smile on my face that lasted in all my last night's gaming session

EDIT : i just logged in the game and i saw that a 15:14 Tin mage was accopliced last night

Likewise my husband has done a kill all ITF and ended up with only 3 shards at the end. And I have also had times running 45 minute ITFs and getting 8 shards or more by the end. It's random and it varies.

Honestly...I have the best luck at Hami raids. I generally get 3 - 6 shards before the end reward, and Justice Hami raids tend to take about 15 - 25 minutes.
we are telling the same thing with different words ... my post was aiming against the opinion "why do you speed, when you want shards?"

    solo ITF

Friday morning, well eaned day off, and after a very fun run of ITF, i got a desire to atempt a solo run in it.

I chose my SS/elec brute (lvl shifted), not my most optimal toon for this (luck of DDR against roman defence debuffs), but i really wanted to do it with this. I jumped in AE, i found an arc with Rommy and Req, and practiced a bit, and i decided i will give it a go without any preparations.. I asked some globals to fill for me (thx guys ), and i started it. The only temp i had with me was the great Envenomed Dagger

The first two missions were easy, and the 3rd went slow but steady :

    1st mission :

    http://img42.imageshack.us/i/screens...318161616.jpg/

    2nd mission :

    http://img153.imageshack.us/i/screen...318163345.jpg/
    http://img861.imageshack.us/i/screen...318164006.jpg/

    3rd mission :

    http://img835.imageshack.us/i/screen...318171807.jpg/
    http://img856.imageshack.us/i/screen...318173448.jpg/

.....and then i hit brickwall in the 4th mission. I couldn't separate Rommy from Nictuses... after some tries i got a bit tired and decided to pause the attempt and continue saturday morning a bit more prepared :

    4th mission (failed attempt) :

    http://img217.imageshack.us/i/screen...318174516.jpg/
    http://img847.imageshack.us/i/screen...318180714.jpg/
    http://img687.imageshack.us/i/screen...318181024.jpg/
    http://img848.imageshack.us/i/screen...318181258.jpg/

saturday morning, made cofee, changed costume, grabbed warburg nukes and shivans, refilled Envenomed Dagger and inspiration tray, got some very good advices of how to use aggro cap........but before i would enter the 4th mission again, i found this great tip in forums : "if you manage to land in Rommy's spawning point before he does, then you can separate him from Nictuses"... i liked this tip a lot so i decided to try this 1st.... i entered mission, and with help of Phase Sift temp power i stood in Rommy's spawning point before him.... and it worked..... i pulled him away from Nictuses, and after that was a slow but steady fight till Rommy's final falldown..... warburg nukes were not nesecary, but fasten things a bit....... Shivans was a great help for added damage

    4th mission :

    http://img864.imageshack.us/i/screen...319125123.jpg/
    http://img405.imageshack.us/i/screen...319130552.jpg/

I know that other players managed the same without lvl shift and without temps (and i respect them)... but this is my greatest personal achievement in game, and i just wanted to share it

I got only 1 shard from all this, but two purple recipes (confuse and hold) and a LOTTA FUN

Lastly, i believe that personal tells and chat in private chanells are supposed to remain private, so that's why i blackened them ( i left only Defiants Events, wich is a public channell)

you are wrong... in a 20 min ITF run you get 2-3 shard, in a half hour STF you net 4-5 shards..... so if you do a ITF/LGTF/STF combo you may end up with more shards than a normal ITF that will take the same time.... plus a lot more merits or components

i join phills runs because they are fun.... i also join or start normal grinding runs... it's just what you want to do to have fun each time
