You people are absolute morons.
It's been repeatedly proven that threatening and inflicting bodily harm on an individual to coerce information will, above all else, result in the victim simply telling you what you want to hear in order to get the torture to stop. I respect and admire The Spy on a professional level, but you're putting far too much stock in the words of a man that was terrified down to his very toes. You wouldn't trust the word of a jury which had been threatened, so I see no reason to take the employee in this article so seriously.
The man needs counselling and support. He doesn't need his moment of weakness exploited like this. -
I don't really have any characters defined by their ethnicity, but it's impossible for me to make someone who isn't British by birth. I, personally, speak with an incredibly inflated (and stereotypical...) accent and often slip it into during roleplay. Rather than deal with the problem of a slipping accent, I just roll with it.

Yes yes, you're a special introvert who is selective about those he calls friends. Big whoop. No need to get hair up your **** about Facebook until you're forced onto it, Sammy.
-
Acting pretentious about internet friends when you're already on a forum is lol.

Your dual blessings excuse only applies to one or two enhancements, not the entire system as originally argued by Xanatos. Pedantically explaining a tiny fraction in no way justifies his zealous "GAME MECHANICS ARE LORE DEAL" rhetoric.
But eh. Only so many times it can be pointed out people like him only want the convenient bits of a story to play with, rather than all of it. -
Ah, that's what I did. You don't roleplay them as physical objects, yet the game clearly shows us that they are actively carried around, bought and constructed.
You have my sympathies for raging so hard about an issue you clearly didn't think about.
Only after you apply liberal amounts of fanwank, which means the enhancements are no longer presented as they are in-game. Either way Xanatos' raeg is still wrong in the context of story and mechanics working alongside one another. -

What I was trying to communicate was that they are not always PHYSICAL OBJECTS ONE WOULD BUY IN A STORE.
Ah, the joys of people that don't live up to the standards they demand from others. -
He didn't buy them from a store, tbh.
But the argument is inherently flawed. Nobody who uses that "ALL MECHANICS ARE TO BE USED IN RP" argument follow through on it as fanatically as they preach it. Only the convenient bits seem to get adhered to. -
hai gais am i teh only one who hates teh bandwagon look imma start an edgy fread to be different

Bugs the **** out of me when people, regardless of RL gender, make scantily clad characters then whine their heads off when it gets acknowledged.

Probably because we'd get bored of reading your response about seven paragraphs in.

Whereas a lot of Empathy characters are genuinely stupid, and deserving of the treatmen they get.

Uh, guys? Executioner's shot. Minus the twirl that's the pose handguns are held in for the stereotypical gunshot used to execute people.

The only issue I have with the system is how the comments are made without your username being attached to it. I guarantee half the abuse would drop off the face of the earth once MacTinyballs realises he has to put a name to his derp derp.
-
You don't have to include malicious links just to tick off the 'complete' box, y'know.
-
It's interesting how people only seem to take issue with the system and consider it useless when it comes to negative reputation, and barely a comment is passed on the GIMME POSITIVE REP YE circle-fap that goes on.

Quote:It doesn't. Performance is really inconsistent across the board. I can't play either game for more than an hour without getting frustrated by the constant stops, starts and juddering - something I don't get on any other game. Sure there are solutions, but they just mean every other game suffers and the Cryptic engine doesn't.The STO version seems to look better than the first version of the engine - but I'm not sure if it performs better or not.
Really poorly optimised. -

Yeah, it's not obvious but a bunch of the features added over the last few issues have been ones which have needed some pretty extensive under the hood tinkering. The Mission Architect itself was an absolutely massive change - they didn't just give us access to development tools, they totally revamped how they make content themselves. Originally it was just a spreadsheet for god's sake.

If they're sensitive enough to give up on a game because they saw five minutes worth of content, they wouldn't have stuck around regardless of new textures.
